Early Voting for the entire state of Florida has just been extended.
Every Early Vote location in Florida will now be every day from 7am-7pm up through November 2.

McCain Misstates Record on Veterans Issues
Friday night, John McCain said “I know the veterans, I know them well, and I know that they know that I'll take care of them, and I have been proud of their support and their recognition of my service to the veterans, and I love them, and I'll take care of them, and they know that I'll take care of them.”
However, McCain’s record in the Senate contradicts this statement. And America’s veterans know this – which is why groups like the Disabled American Veterans and Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America have given McCain failing grades for his voting record on issues facing veterans and military families.
· McCain Opposes the 21st Century GI Bill Because It Is Too Generous. McCain did not vote on the GI Bill that will provide better educational opportunities to veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, paying full tuition at in-state schools and living expenses for those who have served at least three years since the 9/11 attacks. McCain said he opposes the bill because he thinks the generous benefits would “encourage more people to leave the military.” (S.Amdt. 4803 to H.R. 2642, Vote 137, 5/22/08; Chattanooga Times Free Press, 6/2/08; Boston Globe, 5/23/08; ABCNews.com, 5/26/08)
· McCain Voted Against Increased Funding for Veterans’ Health Care. · Voted Against Establishing a $1 Billion Trust Fund for Military Health Facilities. · McCain Opposed Increasing Spending on TRICARE and Giving Greater Access to National Guard and Reservists. Although his campaign website devotes a large section to veterans issues, including expanding benefits for reservists and members of the National Guard, McCain voted against increasing spending on the TRICARE program by $20.3 billion over 10 years to give members of the National Guard and Reserves and their families greater access to the health care program. Like many of you I was glued to the television last night to watch our candidate in action against the right. There were some things that didn't make me too happy but overall I was very pleased.
Most pleasing - This was John McCain's debate, he was supposed to win this debate hands down because it was the foreign policy debate. People, before last night, thought McCain was far better off in that forum and we proved that to be false. Obama held his own last night. I am not sure that he as the clear hands down winner, but I believe that he won slightly. In a debate where McCain needed to win hands down, he lost slightly. My favorite part of the night was when Obama turned to McCain and started to blast him on how he has been wrong time and time again. I think these couple of moments really won over a lot of voters, not just because it shows that Obama will not back down, but because it really shows how he has been the one with the better judgement the whole time.
Least pleasing - I think the part of the night where I was least pleased was when McCain started talking about all the earmarks that Obama has requested over the couple of years he has been in office. I am not sure what the earmarks were for but I am going to look into this. I can't defend him on an issue if I don't know anything about it.

John McCain at one time at least pretended to be a man of honor. His persistent refusal to repudiate the latest Corsi book is solid evidence that he has no honor. The book is nothing but a compendium of lies. The lies are demonstrably false and anyone with even a modicum of common sense can see that this is the case. Still, John McCain refuses to step up and do the honorable thing: denounce the book as a fraud. This failure makes McCain equally culpable in the lies Corsi is attempting to spread. Shame on him.

I found this article on wind energy and was really impressed by it. It is talking about how a quarter of our country is well suited to be soley run off of wind power. It actually says that a lot of the coal and natural gas power plants are perfectly placed for wind farms. They would be able to get just as much energy and it would not include pollution. Read on!

I know that Senator Obama will not announce his Vice President choice but I do have a small suggestion. I believe that Hillary is a poor choice because if he chooses her then all McCain has to do is play clips of Hillary bashing Obama. You can't really argue with a video and there are a lot of clips of her bashing Obama.
I think that the Senator should consider Wesley Clark as a running mate. Clark was a former four star General and served this country with a very good record. I think that he would be a great choice because it would help bring the Democratic ticket more military votes and would appeal to the pro military working class group of Americans that Obama has problems with. He is the "under the radar" choice. Obama is one of the most liberal Senators in Congress and needs to select a VP that is much closer to the middle. General Clark is just that person. I would also have to assume that General Clark would be interested simply because he has been a Presidential Candidate in the past.
