Another message to fellow bloggers

Hello fellow bloggers,

I had previously said that I would no longer go for firsts since the day of Barack's presumptive nomination during which I recorded at least eighteen. But I have a message for you tonight, so I will be trying to claim this spot.

My message to you all is that we remain civil to all other people. There is no reason in my mind for us not to treat others with respect at all times despite who they are or what they have said. We may disagree. There will even be people who are disrespectful and hateful on purpose but we must not sink to their level. First of all, when we are blogging, we need to conduct ourselves in a civil manner. This would include being respectful to all those who post on this blog or on other blogs. If someone tries to push your buttons, you must resist. I urge you to remain principled. Specifically, I think that the Mc(insert word here) business is immature and/or childish. There are better ways to point out that John McCain has many times contradicted himself. Also, yes, John McCain is 71 years old and would be 72 on the day he is inaugurated should he win the election. Yes, I do think that age affects the way a person does his or her job. But that being said, we must be respectful when we point out that we think his age is an issue.

So in conclusion, I am asking everyone here to make the effort to turn the other cheek. We must act the way we want the other side to act.

Good luck out there. Be the change. Even if you don't seek to be principled, you can take the logical approach: your argument will be less effective when you act in a disrespectful manner.

Message to fellow bloggers

Hey fellow Obama bloggers!

I am a 17 year old student and avid supporter of Barack Obama!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell everyone that I am glad that this campaign for the nomination has been so close and hard-fought. Here’s why… All of us are forced to fight for Barack. I think that this close campaign has brought all of us closer together and strengthened us as individuals. I know that no matter what happens in November, there will be millions more educated, aware citizens of the blessed United States of America. I think that this close campaign has strengthened us in our values and our beliefs and make what we are on the verge of accomplishing that much more significant.

For these reasons, I will say right now that I HOPE that John McCain does not make any silly mistake or gaffe that causes everybody to immediately jump ship to Obama. I want people to see Barack’s message and the true content of his character. If Obama wins the election easily, there is a greater likelihood the American public will go back to the same old same old next year. Barack can’t propose legislation or write a speech that will change this country! It will come from the people! That’s why I think this close election is really such a gift because people that are switching to Barack are not doing it because the other candidate is ridiculous or unworthy (well we won’t get into personal opinions) but because they believe in his message! I want every single person voting for Barack Obama to believe. I want every single person voting for Barack Obama to become a strong individual in society so that we can all live in a better world in 2009. That’s why I’m grateful for this close race. That’s why I’m thankful for Barack.

Never forget: Yes WE Can!

Zach
PS: Please visit my page to learn more about me!
