If the homeowner could purchase...

If a homeowner were allowed to purchase their own home at the same price said home was purchased in the sale of that foreclosed home, they'd be able to afford it too. There are radio ads that tout that some are paying as low as $300 per month for their mortgage because they purchased a foreclosed home. Generally speaking, the homeowner that lost the home to foreclosure could more than likely afford $300 per month themselves. Why not let the homeowner re-purchase their own home at one of those bargain basement prices at which wealthy people buy up foreclosed homes? Talk about stimulating the economy? Now that same homeowner would be paying $300 per month as opposed to $3000 per month! They get to stay in the house, pay local taxes, spend money on home maintenance, etc. That's stimulus. Just a thought.

Mortgage Stimulus?

There was a program that became available Oct 1, 2008 that was supposed to encourage lenders to help reset mortgages and thus help home owners avoid foreclosure. The program was called HOPE. The lenders did not volunteer to absorb the debt and help home owners and HOPE was dead. Is there anything in the stimulus package that will encourage lenders to participate in helping home owners?

Let's try "trickle up" stimulus

We have been force-fed a set of economic ideals that are dead! Let's try something different... get money in the hands of strapped americans that buy the goods and services from companies that provide them. This will create jobs. Everybody is squeezed by the credit crunch. Mortgages cost more than the value of homes. Let's reset the income to debt ratio of all americans such that they can start spending money rather than saving it just to pay a mortgage or a rent. Stimulate the income of middle american taxpayers such that after they have paid their mortgage payments, utility payments and necessity payments that they have money left to invest or spend. When that starts to happen the ecomomy will grow.

Stop with the political buzzwords!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tolerance, intolerance, LBGT... it is sickening. People should NOT be granted special consideration because they are different either by choice or by birth. We are the HUMAN RACE. Everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe in this country and that is what makes it great. Because of this FREEDOM, we can choose not to believe in a bible that disagrees with our own beliefs. We can also believe in a bible that disagrees with the beliefs of others and should be able to do so without repudiation.

Because one believes what the bible says does not mean they are intolerant. It just means they believe what the bible says. Intolerance causes a so called bible believer to attempt to "deny" the rights of others. Real intolerance is when non-bible believers want to "change" the meaning of what the bible says and then say it is intolerant to speak against what they believe in.

Give LGBT's the right to live human lives but do not give them special priviledge to change the belief system of others. They don't have the right to change the belief system of any religious group. So instead of calling it marriage, call it whatever else they want and allow anyone to enter into that form of union with all the rights and priviledges of all other Americans.

HOPE is dead.

Anybody hear about the HOPE program? You know the one approved by congress and effective Oct.1, 2008? It is all but DEAD! It was a complete failure! Lenders will not "volunteer" to absorb the losses dished out by a poor mortgage market. Loss of home values will not be absorbed by these lenders either. So... The Fed should at least offer to absorb part of those loses to make the "volunteer" based program palatable to the lenders.

Is anyone listening?

Bailout to multi-billion or multi-million dollar entities should be conditional. If there's not going to be a consumer bailout then why should we bailout big business? A bailout means no more debt right? That means assets are free for investment right? Imagine if every home owner with a mortgage could suddenly get bailed out of all of thier debts and find about $1000 to $4000 extra per month to spend? If the bailout is conditional, those businesses should be held to paying back the taxpayers every dime that they were bailed out of. Give it back to the taxpayers!

If it saves the economy and everyone benefits, do it. Everybody should benefit! So, bail them out and make them pay it back over a short period of time. The more that gets paid back, the bigger the bonus to the CEO in charge. They should be compensated based on performance and never leave with a bonus package if they leave the company with debts! Take the debts out of their proposed package!

Bailout the consumer too! Reduce their debts and require that they invest a portion of their new found disposable income as part of the deal. Make it a straight percentage, 10%, 20%, etc.

Do the banks the same way. Tax their profits until they pay back all of the $700 billion!

Tactics

First Obama was pegged as a celebrity in a negative way... then the McCain camp creates one of their own that outstages McCain himself!

I know that we should not go tit for tat but... the Obama camp in my humble opinion needs to raise the bar. Those things that make Obama/Biden an attractive alternative to the current administration need to be visually proclaimed in such a way as to envoke "celebrity"... again.

A female vice presidential pick for the McCain ticket is certainly not going to change my mind about what needs to happen in Washington. I realize that if McCain wins, there WILL BE FOUR MORE YEARS of typical Washington crony-ism, tax cuts for big business and the wealthy while the average working class family will continue to struggle.

But if "celebrity" is what people want (as obviously seen at the RNC), why not give them a little of what they want while showing the masses "what kind" of change the Obama/Biden ticket will bring and how they intend to bring it?
