Lake Arrowhead Drive for Change to Las Vegas Success!

We were a small group from Lake Arrowhead, who drove to Las Vegas the weekend of October 17th. We felt that our efforts had great impact and we were happy to meet lots of fellow Californians there. It was a huge turn out. This was so rewarding! 9 more days! VOTE!!!! Vote Early! Great experience for our middle-school kids, they learned what democracy in America is all about. If anyone can go this coming last weekend, DO IT!!!

Below is a missive that has already been forwarded to many intelligent women. I feel compelled to pass it on and hope you will read it to the end and follow thru. Our country is bordering on a electoral disaster that could damage it for decades to come and destroy the freedoms as we know them for us, our children and grandchildren. We are writing to you because of the fury and dread we have felt since the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican Party. We believe that this terrible decision has surpassed mere partisanship, and that it is a dangerous farce on the part of a pandering and rudderless Presidential candidate that has a real possibility of becoming fact.

Perhaps like us, as American women, you share the fear of what Ms. Palin and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for ourselves and for our present or future daughters. To date, she is against sex education, birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection, alternative energy development, freedom of speech (as mayor she wanted to ban books and attempted to fire the librarian who stood against her), gun control, the separation of church and state, and polar bears. To say nothing of her complete lack of real preparation to become the second-most-powerful person on the planet.

We want to clarify that we are not against Sarah Palin as a woman, a mother, or, for that matter, a parent of a pregnant teenager, but solely as a rash, incompetent, and all together devastating choice for Vice President. Ms. Palin's political views are in every way a slap in the face to the accomplishments that our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers so fiercely fought for, and that we've so demonstrably benefited from.

First and foremost, Ms. Palin does not represent us. She does not demonstrate or uphold our interests as American women. It is presumed that the inclusion of a woman on the Republican ticket could win over women voters. We want to disagree, publicly.

Therefore, we invite you to reply here with a short, succinct message about why you, as a woman living in this country, do not support this candidate as second-in-command for our nation.

The last couple of days I have received so many emails with LIES about Barack Obama's postions on many things. I looked in SNOPES and was surprised to see that Barack is being ATTACKED by EMAIL LIES like no one else. Check it out!

Amazing! This is so full of lies and half truths, I don’t even know where to start. I think it is great that everyone is so interested in this year’s election. Whether Democrat, Republican or Independent we should be aware of what to expect when either Barack or John wins. But, to use slander and lies or attacks, which favor one candidate is really low and cowardly. This really doesn’t serve the people. The sources below don’t even address the statements made. Before you send these type of emails around, please do check in SNOPES. The lies about his tax plan are already there. (did anyone see him talk about this on O’Reilly yesterday?) The RNC Lies - Know the Facts

The Republican convention really upset me because of all the lies. It seems to me the RNC can only win on a lie. I gathered some of the facts. There was also a woman (friend of Carly Fiorina) who indicated that the President of the US has no power over the free-choice issue, so even though she was with Hilary and believed in pro-choice she was with McCain now. What she failed to note is that the President can chose the next 3 supreme court judges so far right that they will overturn Roe vs. Wade, and who knows what else in the name of GOD! and... I mean in the name of God as Governor Palin has tried to do so in her previous admininstrations.

· McCain said they had vetted Palin for weeks, but the truth has surfaced and indicates that McCain made a quick harsh decision in one day, which is why all this crap is coming up about her. Fighting Back on Email Slime -Jay Leno on President Bush (Surprising)

I received an email yesterday that had a huge email list and was such crap that, this time, I did not simply delete it, but responded to all. Apparently the Republicans have been using email as a way to get the lies to senior citizens and hispanics. (my father really believed that Barack was a muslin because of a credible republican email he received). This email, like all the others are complete LIES! Here is the response I sent and then the email I received follows. Fight back against these lies, we don't want another 4 years of BUSH=MCCAIN.

Outside of the fact that these people are too cowardly to attach their own names to this claptrap, it's amazing that they believe that assigning this drivel to comedians who exercise their first-amendment rights by basing most of their acts upon ridiculing the government somehow lends it a semblance of legitimacy. I think most people who read this folderol understand it in code: whiners are "left-wing liberals". Notice how it quickly devolves into a "God and Country, love it or leave it" mentality. That somehow newspapers and free speech is associated with unappreciative losers and being unpatriotic. That keeping your mouth shut and praying to God for things to get better is the way to go.

It takes no courage to say nothing when faced with the outrages this government has inflicted on its people in the name of protecting them. It is a coward's mentality to witness our citizens and those of other countries killed and maimed by the legion in the name of a lie only to stand by and recognize George Bush as anything but the incompetent warmonger he is. That the short-sighted and ill-planned, yet often fore-warned, misadventure in Baghdad is anything less than a debacle that has put our troops in harm's way on a fool's errand.

Yes, I thank God everyday. I thank him I'm not someone who swallows this blather and proclaims himself a patriot.

'As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor
have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is
about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.

The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came
across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe.
It must be true given the source, right? The Newsweek
poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy
with the direction the country is headed and 69
percent of the country is unhappy with the performance
of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry
just ain't happy and want a change. So being the
knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we
so unhappy about?'

Is it that we have electricity and running
water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

Is our unhappiness the result of having
air conditioning in the summer and heating in the
winter?

Could it be that 95.4 percent of these
unhappy folks have a job?

Maybe it is the ability to walk into a
grocery store at any time and see more food in
moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars
and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic
Ocean without having to present identification papers
as we move through each state?

Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe
motels we would find along the way that can provide
temporary shelter?

I guess having thousands of restaurants
with varying cuisine
from around the world is just not good enough either.

Or could it be that when we wreck our car,
emergency workers show up and provide services to help
all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of
Americans who own a home.

You may be upset with knowing that in the
unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained
firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch
equipment to extinguish the flames, thus saving you,
your family, and your belongings.

Or if, while at home watching one of your
many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes,
an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest
will come to defend you and your family against attack
or loss.

This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood
free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the
residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own
cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and
political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the
world?

Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful,
spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the
world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its
citizens. They see us for what we are. The most
blessed people in the world who do nothing but
complain about what we don't have, and what we hate
about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we
live here.

I know, I know.. What about the president who took us
into war and has no plan to get us out? The
president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating?
Is this the same president who guided the nation in
the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut
taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could
this be the same guy who has been called every name in
the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled
ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The
commander-in- chief of an all-volunteer army that is
out there defending you and me?

Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or
talk show?
Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy
you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see
all the good things and be glad? Think about
it......are you upset at the President because he
actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the
'Media'told you he was failing to kiss your sorry
ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it.

The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to
serve, and in many cases may have died for your
freedom. There is currently no draft in this country.
They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go
and end up with either a ' 'general' discharge, an other-than-honorable'
discharge or, worst case scenario, a'dishonorable' discharge after a few
days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds
of 69 percent of Americans?

Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it
bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news.
Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts.
How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the
corner? The media knows this and media outlets are
for-profit corporations.

They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to
defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way
or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a
murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how
he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have
done it this way......Insane!

Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York
Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start
being grateful for all we have as country. There is
exponentially more good than bad. We are among the
most blessed people on Earth and should thank God
several times a day, or at least be thankful and
appreciative..' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out
of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms
tearing up the country from one end to another, and
with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,
'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of

How many people want to know what is going to happen with this election? Back on March 23rd I decided to do tarot readings for the 3 candidates to "find the answer", and so far it has been right on. After continued horribly deceitful barrage of attacks from Hillary, Barack Obama will triumph. Barack will win the democratic nomination but watch out, McCain looks pretty good. It shows McCain as the winner, at the time I was worried about him being the Presidential winner, but as the days have passed I see that McCain is the Republican nominee and winner, and with all the attacks being within the Democratic party, he is behaving without worry as a winner. Now it makes sense. In June I will do the cards again to see what will happen in November. Of course this is for entertainment purposes only, to bring about discussion and thought. Have fun!

What a wonderful feeling to know that our next President will be one of true integrity. I will be so proud when the rest of the world recognizes what a great person Barack Obama is.
