Rednecks for Obama

Given the northeastern pseudo-intellectuals have seen fit to brand us all as racists who would never vote for a black man, and the Clintons have specifically branded Obama as "the black candidate" to further promote and capitalize on these bigoted, racist, tired old stereotypes - there's really no better time to unite "Rednecks" for Obama in '08!

Congratulations!

The media bias was absolutely shameful. Obama skirting campaign finance reform cost him my vote. So I sat home this election.

But I suppose I have no recourse now other than to trust that Obama will live up to his promises and fulfill his rhetoric. Hey, political campaigns are dirty business.

Now it's on to governing, and Obama is graced with the opportunity to lead our great nation. Here's to hoping he governs in better faith than he has managed his campaign.

God Bless America! And to hell with the ultra liberal left-wing pseudo-intellectuals and their bigoted, right-wing counterparts.

Obama is BLACK? Say it ain't so!

Well heavens to betsy - did y'all hear that Barack Obama feller is BLACK!?! My goodness gracious alive!

I hosted the first Obama fundraiser in my area - and following the demise of the Clintons, was happily awaiting a lively debate on the issues.

Instead, Obama opts out of public financing (guess I can't get my donation back now), has so far refused to commit to any debates - and without the Clintons around to play the race card, he's tossed it out on the table himself. Not exactly an ace in the hole - unless you're gunning for the "everyone's a victim" Clintonian approach to politics.

Sorry, but I'm not leaving Obama. He left me.

And for all the folks left behind - I suggest you read the quote up top and take the second verse to heart. Just because you can't believe in Obama anymore doesn't mean you can't still believe in yourself.

I thought we'd have a showdown between the old maverick and the new kid in town. And that would have been exciting.

Instead, all we're getting is another rerun of the Prime Time Party Line Pandering Show.

And given I couldn't give a damn about either party, I'll just base my vote again on who's less morally repugnant.

I just can't believe Obama is making it such a tough decision for me.

Thanks, buddy - keep the change.

Clinton Reaches out to Klan Members in West Virginia

Apparently the Carolinas bring out the worst in the Clintons. They've gone from flagrant race-baiting after South Carolina's loss to outright racism after their loss in North Carolina.
How far will the media let it go? Tomorrow will the AP headline "Clinton Courts Klan members in West Virginia"?
And isn't that what she's doing? From her comments yesterday, it's pretty clear that she's pinning her hopes on stirring white racial pride, pitting uneducated whites against blacks?
Only I think the media's terminology for "white racial pride" is racism. And from what I understand, stirring racism can be highly volatile.
It just absolutely amazes me that the media's PC movement has completely evaporated in the face of "special interest" infighting -
Where is the outrage? If McCain had made the same remarks Clinton spouted yesterday, how viciously would he be vilified?
I guess that's why most people have more faith in used car salesmen than they do in politicians or the lazy journalists who mindlessly deliver their "spin".
But nonetheless, the unrepentant pass the media have given the Clintons in making these remarks - and their complicity in helping spread these "messages" really needs to be called into question.

Or are we just going to blame the end result on the ignorance of the general public, rather than calling out the folks who kept telling them the theater was on fire?
Maybe the ensuing inner-city race riots, which may well spread throughout the South, present a situation where the ends justifies the means. I'm certain newspapers will be flying off the news stands - either that or burning down with them. It's all good for the elitist journalists and politicians in their protected, gated communities - "Oh dear, how did this happen? How tragic!"
Does that sound preposterous? Any more ludicrous than a DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE PROMOTING RACIAL DIVIDE as her only path to the party's nomination?
Who would have thunk? It just goes to prove - reality trumps fiction every time. To support/comment on this article, please visit: http://halfofftibet.blogspot.com/ I stopped blogging here because preaching to the choir is pretty much a waste of time :)

Obama: "I will NOT have political relations with that woman!"

Asked about the possibility of a joint ticket, Obama resonded today:
"We are just focused on winning the nomination. That is my focus. I respect Sen. Clinton. She has been a tenacious opponent. It is premature to talk about a joint ticket."

PREMATURE? The Clintons are the exact OPPOSITE of the hope Obama inspires. How DARE he even contemplate pushing that vile woman on us, his loyal supporters? He owes us at LEAST that much!!!

The correct answer to that question is - with Obama angrily waving his finger at the camera:

"I will NOT have political relations with that woman!"

Clinton is using this "dream ticket" concept to her advantage - vote for me, she implies, and I'll bring my lackey boy Obama along. He's just an uppity Jesse Jackson anyway - right, Bill sweetheart?

If Obama won't stand up for his supporters and free them of the outright FEAR of Hillary coasting along on his ticket, right into the White House -

I mean, seriously - can you imagine a "Do ANYTHING to Win" Clinton with an itchy trigger finger, only a heartbeat away from the Presidency...

It's BEYOND political suicide.

I'm not putting myself through all of this emotional turmoil, only to have the party bigwigs force Clinton onto Obama's ticket, flushing everything we've worked for right down the toilet.

So Obama can choose me - or he can keep Hillary and her race-baiting, closet racist, ignorant old party-liners. I got NO plans to "unify" with those people.

If he can't fight for us, then I'm done fighting for him. End of story.

[And sorry for the repost - I'm highly PO'd right now]

Obama's Choice - Me or Hillary. Time's Up.

I am SICK TO DEATH of Clinton manipulating this contest. First, she ran on "2 for 1" - and when that canned, she started in on "3 for 1". Vote for me, she infers, and I'll bring Obama on board.
Asked about the notion of a paired ticked, Obama responded:
"We are just focused on winning the nomination. That is my focus. I respect Sen. Clinton. She has been a tenacious opponent. It is premature to talk about a joint ticket."

Premature? The correct response to that question would be (wagging your finger at the camera):

"I will NOT have political relations with that woman!"

Sorry - but you just lost my support, man.

It's me or the Clintons, Obama - and I think that goes for a ton of Independents. You can't have it both ways.

The Imminent Danger of Racial Profiling (Disguised as Polling)

The media has been heavily over-playing race and gender issues throughout the campaign – pitting hispanics vs blacks vs whites, men vs women.

As we move to the general election, this will only get worse – as we’ll have Obama vs McCain – or to sell more papers, the black candidate vs the white candidate. Gender will have dropped to the wayside.

So this is how it works – a group of morons are dispatched to conduct an ‘exit poll’. They then identify the people they’re interviewing based on their race and gender. How the press can excuse this profiling is beyond me – but the bigotry and hypocrisy of this practice has gone unquestioned.

The press, quite irresponsibly in my opinion, is pushing the issue as hard as they possibly can. I’ve already seen headlines – “Can a black man win the South?”

It’s been quite a long time since ANY democrat has won the South.

As an independent, I’m still waiting on the primaries to end and for the parties to introduce their platforms. And in the end, as with anything else in my life, race will play no part in my decision.

Racial profiling by pollsters, racial profiling reinforced by the main stream media – all running full steam ahead, unchecked and with no shame…

So when did racial profiling suddenly become politically correct? And why are we allowing it to continue?

And if you think it’s all just academic – imagine the repercussions of whites and blacks being directly pitted against each other, throughout the South, in November.

If we were all high-minded individuals, the continued (and seemingly endless) social segregation of the South wouldn’t even exist.

But you can’t theorize that because it shouldn’t exist, it doesn’t – nor theorize that the repercussions of this media inflamed race-baiting doesn’t stand the potential of being highly explosive.

And if and when that happens, it will be a little too late.

Hope and unity are the path to the future. But we can’t ignore the reality of the present.

This unabated bigotry should be called out for what it is now, before it’s too late.

The intent of polling is primarily to influence voters. What exactly is the intent of racial profiling?

My hope for this election is to finally have an election focused on the issues – and I don’t see how the racially profiled polling of blacks, hispanics, whites, asians, men, and women has a DAMN thing to do with who we should choose to best move our country forward.

But I can very well see how it can be effectively used to distract voters from the issues and turn people against one another.

Why Your Neighbors think Obama is a Radical, Flag-Burning Muslim

So why is Hillary capturing the uneducated vote? Because her campaign convinced them that Obama is a radical Muslim.

I know you’re all heard about the infamous email produced by the HRC campaign – but I don’t think the implications have REALLY sunk in. And the longer these vicious lies are allowed to perpetuate, the more long-lasting, possibly irreparable damage the cycle creates.

The phenomenon works like this (for instance):

I tell my friends “Jack” is a homicidal maniac terrorist. I forward an email to my friends that “Jack” is a homicidal maniac terrorist. I relate this to everyone I know – so that they're WARNED that “Jack” is a homicidal maniac terrorist. I do this with the best of intentions, because Jack is a public menace and people should know about him.

So to break this cycle, I must admit to everyone I know that I’m gullible, ignorant, and/or a liar. After all, I’ve been spreading these emails and rumors for weeks now.

What are the chances that I’m going to do that? I’d say… pretty much zip, zero, nada, ain’t gonna happen.

So who needs to be vetted by the “Republican Hate Machine” when HRC supporters constantly refer to Obama as Barrack HUSSEIN Obama in message boards across the internet, reinforcing the libelous intent of the initial email?

Barring some major scandal, or incredible reversal in voting patterns, Clinton can not secure more pledged delegates than Obama. Currently, the statistics show that she would be required to pull 58% of the remaining delegates, which would require a substantially higher percentage of the popular vote. If we stick to our guns, there's zero chance of that happening.

The Texas/Ohio firewall is as fictional as the Muslim email. There is no firewall. The media is making tons of money off of this race – so they’ll play it whichever way sells more papers. But just as with McCain and Huckabee, this race is pretty much over.

So what to do about this Muslim thing?

While we’d all like to think of America as being “high minded”, you might think back to those grade school days where the majority of the "educated" scored in the top 0.00001 percentile on those idiotic tests. And not to go off on a tangent, but being "smarter" doesn't make you better - it just makes you less susceptible to mudslinging.

At any rate, having respect for McCain and high hopes for Obama, I’d hoped we’d FINALLY have an election about the issues, to be decided on the issues. But will the Clinton effect linger on, even after she's out of the race?

Even if McCain, in a debate, standing next to Obama, tells the country “THIS MAN IS NOT A MUSLIM!”, I’m still not sure whether it would work. I would hope he'd be honorable enough to do that.

But given this is all Hillary’s fault anyway, I’m very upset that she’s not already taken that step.

My apologies for this being long-winded – but I was really shocked when I ran into this again today – with a large group of people in agreement that the country would be in horrible danger should we elect "that radical Muslim who lies and says he’s not" - but they know he is.

And the more people who accept that position, then pass it on to their friends – the greater the damage – because again, it’s nearly impossible to reverse that process.

Obama can't defend himself - so what's to be done about this?

Living in the South, I expect the media hubs in the northeast and west will have a field day with the "racist voting trends" of the "red states" come November.

But race isn't really an issue when you have the same class of uneducated folks duped into thinking Obama is a radical Muslim. Race has nothing to do with it.

Local Nursing Homes: A Glimpse of Clinton's Universal Health Care

For those of you not absolutely outraged by Clinton's call for Universal Health Care, I beg you to PLEASE go visit a local nursing home. The level of abuse and neglect is outrageous. Then go visit the poor souls wasting away in a government-funded nursing home. And bring a box of tissues - you'll be crying your eyes out.

And for those who could care less about old folks, imagine what would happen if you were to fall ill.

Every "medical center" in this country would be filled to capacity with folks abusing their "free" universal coverage to claim a sick day from work. Got a sniffle? Go see the doctor. If you've ever been unfortunate enough to visit a hospital in a large city, you'll have witnessed first-hand the "medicare/medicaid" waiting lines. And a quick tip for those living in large cities - call an ambulance. It's the only way out of that line.

The government should pass laws and regulate an industry that has spiraled out of control - but if anything, we know for certain that the government should never be in the business of MANAGING anything.

If you don't like the Iraq War, imagine someone like Donald Rumsfeld in the position of Secretary of Health. That's right - it's controlled by the Executive Branch. Imagine the horror...

But it won't affect Hillary, Bush, or any of their elitist friends. They have their own personal physicians.

But the rest of us? Just go visit those folks in the nursing homes - and God forbid that ever happens to you or someone you love.

As history has shown us, once we turn down that path - there's no turning back.

It's just a continuation of the worn-out philosophy - "Elect me and I'll give you stuff for free."

Sadly, the crap you can get from mail-order for "free" is better than what the government provides.

Hillary: "I'm Asking You to Suspend Disbelief"

Rumor has it that, given Obama's approach continues to be so popular, the HRC is racing to copy his message:

"I'm Asking You to Suspend Disbelief. Not just in my ability to polarize Washington ... I'm asking you to believe again in dumb luck - that a 3rd party independent will enter the race, propelling me to victory, after which the glorious tech boom of the 90s will be revived once again, bringing prosperity to our great nation. And Bill and I will take credit for it all! Glory to the Clintons! (And the Hell with the rest of you ungrateful...)"

Hey Hillary - it's a New Generation, Stupid.

And need we remind you that it was OUR generation that was responsible for the technology boom? Isn't it your generation that's the first to leave the nation off worse than when you found it? What... you haven't caused ENOUGH damage? Or for your own personal gain, are you willing to sacrific the millions of young people and independents who've found someone they feel they can actually BELIEVE in? Pathetic.

As our generation so eloquently puts it, it's time for you and your tired old revisionist, race-baiting, polarizing partisan politics to kindly "Step Off!"

McCain vs Obama: Who to Choose?

Hopefully this won't get me flamed - but I'm an independent, and haven't voted in a very long time thanks to the lack of choices provided by the two parties. The Republicans always give us an ultra-conservative who thinks the "rich" should run everything, and the Democrats toss out some socialist, who thinks the "elitists" should run everything.

McCain had to run as a "conservative" to get nominated - but given his track record, I suspect now he'll get back on the moderate track.

Obama has a fairly long way to go in the nomination process - and to appease his political base, he has to do pretty much the same thing McCain was forced to do.

For whatever strange reason, "liberals" and "conservatives" dominate the two parties - and to get the party nomination, you have to suck up to those idiots.

And it's those idiots that are currently full-bore behind Clinton - just like the conservatives, they want to wage all-out war against the other side. They thrive on the dirty politics.

I'm currently signed up for Obama's site and for McCain's site - and I'll make the decision on my own eventually. But depending on Obama's platform, I'm leaning toward someone who's obviously more inspirational. Obama has that down pat.

But what's COOL is that I can now vote for Obama in the primaries, cuz McCain is safe :)

Anyway, that's my bit of babble for the day - what with McCain virtually tying up the Republican nomination.

"Dream Ticket" a Nightmare for Obama Supporters

From the inception of her campaign, Hillary Clinton has offered "Two for One". Unable to run on her own merits, she has based her campaign on her husband's Presidency.

And now that "Two for One" isn't even enough to propel her into office, she's now running under the guise of "Three for One." Vote for me, she implies, and Obama will come on board.

So why has Obama allowed her to run with that? How many votes did it cost him on Super Tuesday?

Polls have consistently shown that Hillary can not defeat McCain.

So how does Obama free himself from this issue, while continuing his message as the man who can unify this country and bring everyone together?

Quite simply - Hillary is itching for a fight. While Obama consistently speaks of reaching across the aisle, we hear the exact opposite from the Hillary camp.

It's all about beating back the right wing conspiracy. Her husband beat them at their own game twice - and by golly geez, he'll help her do it again. Fight fight fight! We'll teach them to mess with us!

We're sick of the fighting, sick of the partisan bickering and endless drama.

And I can't even donate to the Obama campaign - for fear that, given a "Dream Ticket", my money might eventually be siphoned to the Clinton campaign.

Obama has always been honest and straightforward with us so far. I'm obviously not seasoned enough to understand the various political implications of such a move -

But I do wish Obama would formally divorce himself from the combative, polarizing and hateful Clinton machine.

And I don't see how delaying that announcement is helping the movement.

Hillary probably received a great number more votes on Tuesday, given her supporters hopes for a "Dream Ticket" - vote for me, Hillary implies, and I'll deliver Obama and his supporters, too!

Sadly, before we can make a choice - Obama must make his own.

I will not support or stand for anything that might benefit the Clintons. They are the great dividers, and gleefully admit that mud-slinging is the "fun part" of campaigning.

In Obama I trust - in Hillary, I see nothing but self-serving deceit.

Clinton Supporters: Obama to the Back of the Bus

I've been reading a lot of commentary on sites like the NY Times lately, and have noticed the growing number of HRC supporters demanding that Barack "wait his turn" - the equivalent of asking the black man to take his seat at the back of the bus. Clinton seems to be pinning her hopes on this so-called "Dream Ticket", where Obama accepts the Vice Presidency.

While Obama can't defend himself against the race-baiting tactics of the Clinton machine without being faulted for playing "the race card", maybe it's time we turned the tables. For instance, the above headline is no more inflammatory than Bill Clinton's comparison of Jesse Jackson to Mr. Obama following their defeat in the South Carolina primaries.

If that bus pulls out of the DNC with Obama forced to the back, I can guarantee there will be hell to pay, for years to come.

Challenge the Clintons to a Fair Contest in Florida and Michigan!

Rather than allowing Hillary to claim a faux victory in Florida, Obama should capitalize on his momentum out of South Carolina - asking for Florida and Michigan to be given an opportunity to hear from the candidates and choose their nominee.

Given the opportunity, Obama can win Michigan and Florida. So rather than playing into her opportunistic game, present her with a true challenge.

If she truly welcomes inclusion, then challenge her to an open and fair contest - allow voters to hear from the candidates and make their voices heard! It's just as easy to request a new vote as to request inclusion after the fact. And what could be more "open and honest" than a fair election?

And then allow the Clintons to back down, showing their true colors.
