Auto Maker Summit!!!

If possible, I'd like to see President Obama meet with the automakers, oil companies and environmentalists about the possibility of jump starting the Hydrogen Economy by building the infrastructure to support the new industry. The automakers have stated previously that if a fueling infrastructure were present they could begin mass production. As I am a firm believer that hydrogen and fuel cells are the answer to our future energy needs and it is advancing everywhere except the USA at present, we should be actively approaching this new economy. If President Obama spoke with the industry leaders, perhaps he would get a better idea upon a direction to embark. As Shell Hydrogen has adopted an approach to simply add hydrogen punps to its existing stations generating hydrogen on-site, perhaps it would be a start for a brand new economy.

Of everything in the campaign, the fist bump between the Obama's was purely their gesture exhibiting the bond between a husband & wife, life partners and friends. I hope they feel safe to do the fist bump again because they earned that right. Final post to this forum, Godspeed Mr. President and First Lady, you guys have made America shine, press with pride!!!

How Can We Help???

President Obama needs to say to all Americans, we must ask how can we help??? He has a huge job ahead of him but can lay out items that we average folks can do to assist him with his efforts. Things such as buying savings bonds, increasing personal savings, enlisting in the military, public service, voluteering in general, donating to the poor, etc... in short, build on the momentum of the patriotic to improve America.

Economic Summit!!!

President Obama should be included in the economic summit if not replacing President Bush as he will be dealing with the eventual outcome. Yesterday was a momentus day recapturing the American Spirit and reviving the American dream and we dare not lose the momentum of change by enacting the same tired policies of the past 8 years. These are extraordinary times calling for extraordinary measures and President Obama's mission need not be complicated with more junk than already exists. America will support our new President and we can begin by decreasing his liabilties!!!

I wish the next time the McPain camp or anyone utters the words "Far Left Wing Takeover" that someone would remind them of "Near Right Wing Hangover" of the past 8+ years. If a far left wing takeover means we no longer watch helplessly while the Republicans stomp our Constitution, outsource our lives to foreigners, open our borders to everyone, ruin our economy, provide free bailouts to business, and act irresponsibly in all matters then so be it!!! Sign me up to the far left wing takeover and get me off this Neocon Clusterfreak!!!

Bailout Betrayal!!!

Now we know the bailout was merely a ruse to provide money to corporations so they can expand and make more money NOT TO HELP OUT LENDERS TO FREE OUR CREDIT SITUATION!!! Unfortunately, both Obama and McCain voted FOR the $700B bailout which is not helping anything but corporate greed. As I have already cast my vote, I feel it was wasted and feel betrayed. No wonder no actions to reregulate our financial system have occurred, they are simply passing out money so banks can acquire other banks while Americans lose our homes, jobs, retirements and hope for the future. Forget election day as we hsve been BETRAYED ONCE AGAIN!!!

Professional Maturity Is Key!!!

Maturity comes in many forms from a baby learning how to sit upright to an elderly person learning how to die, life is a learning experience and anyone who thinks they have nothing remaining to learn shrivels and dies while still clinging to the vine. This election has exhibited outstanding maturity on the part of Obama/Biden since they haven't allowed themselves to abandon their professionalism and principles in favor of childish attacks and actions. The McPain side has resorted to the old "my daddy can whip your daddy" mentality while the Dynamic Diva goes shopping!!! Am I the only person who remembers George W. Bush saying for everyone to go shopping to save our economy??? How immature a statement to make while foreclosures, unemployment and inflation are destroying our nation yet the McPain followers are following lock-step in that same "spend our way to prosperity" concept. Palin's shopping spree shows George Bush arrogance while McCain's personal attacks based upon lies and erroneous fictitious information are a road to war redux!!! Whether it is mobile chemical weapons labs or ACORN the results are identical, create a story and sell it to the less intellectual crowd and finally call your opponent some inflammatory names such as communist, socialst, corrupt, Arab, Muslim, ditribute a video denouncing his deceased mother and let the rumours fly. Nothing could be lower on anyone's scale. I have been and continue to be impressed with the maturity of Obama/Biden and feel they are the best choice for our nation. May the good lord reward good people and smite those who would defame simply out of spite!!!

No Felons in Government!!!

In our United States of America, we have many challenges and opposition from many groups yet we must maintain the integrity of our government. Every election contains candidates espousing reform of government yet when the polls close, so do the candidates, those that win do nothing and those that lose plot to run again. America must break this chain of inaction and broken government and must start NOW by REQUIRING that no person convicted of a felony may serve in our Congress or Federal government under any circumstances and must forfeit all benefits of any government service upon conviction. This is the ONLY deterrent to corruption and our citizens losing representation by their elected representatives. If any candidate accomplished nothing more than stopping this endless madness of our elected officials skating free to collect their pensions and benefits after comitting crimes against our nation, they would be hailed as a success. All accomplishments begin with the basics!!!

Plot Against Obama...

The foiled plot against Obama by white supremacists may have had Obama as the immediate target yet democracy and American freedoms were the ultimate goal. People such as these want only to force their agenda upon everyone else using any excuse they can muster. This is why the abusive tactics of the McCain/Palin campaign are so dangerous and border upon traitorous since they are stirring the pot of violence in their attempt to gain political power. Nothing could be more anti-American than their actions and words. May everyone pray for Obama's safety and the triumph of our democracy!!!

The Final Days!!!

I do hope Obama is feeling better after visiting his grandmother as it is a gesture befitting a good man to have taken the time to conduct such a visit. From here on out, I hope Obama will stress his cabinet picks and the fact that the cabinet actually runs the government carrying out the policies of the President. I believe Obama will have the cream of the Democratic Party as well as independents and Republicans at his disposal. This election following 8 years of devisiveness has the potential to unite our nation as never before. By focusing the nation on the economic progress of the Clinton years and hinting at recreating that atmosphere once again it would make great inroads toward healing our nation. By simply tossing out names in the final speeches with nothing definite but hining at the direction of cabinet picks. IE. Robert Reich advising on labor issues to increase US employment, Robert Rubin & Paul Volcker on fiscal responsibility, Madeleine Albright & Colin Powell advising on State Department matters, etal.. I feel that America must not only be healed but reassured in the short term. Should winter prove colder and heating costs further damage Mainstreet, a need for reconcilliation between all factions of our nation will be needed. I feel a plan for the worst, hope fore the best approach is warranted this transition season.

The Nutcase Factor!!!

I'm thinking the Ashley Todd incident is indicative of the nutcases not only working on the McCain campaign but of the fanatic followers of the Nazi right wingers. A person must be a nutcase to support a candidate who only spouts lies, fear and attacks yet offers no solutions, plans or hope. In fact, McCain scares most folks as he is capable of inciting riots with his fear mongering rhetoric toward people of limited intellect. After Obama is elected, I would recommend he keep a very low profile till at least next summer to avoid a McCain supporter backlash since these people spout hate, death, and anarchy as I've never witnessed since the days of George Wallace. It's a sad day when fear intervenes in our democracy!!!

Come Together Right Now!!!

Not only is this great line from a song, but a great sentiment at this time for our nation. With all the turmoil experienced at present America must come together as a nation, save our money, rebuild our economy based upon cash deposits instead of credit & loans, insist our leaders and government focus upon investing in our infrastructures and energy needs with emphasis upon renewables, environmental preservation and building a "Green" economy. I am a firm believer that we can save our way out of economic challenges by being efficient with our finances and patient with our sentiments. America should have a national recycling program not with the normal self-sorting multiple recycling container nonsense but with automated sorters in landfills extracting recyclables enmass from normal garbage collections without undue participation by the public as in place on Nantucket at present. We need only place "value" on our garbage via deposits on virtally every consumable to promote recycling and opportunities for all. In short, America needs ideas from everyone to improve our society and our future. We should have a suggestion program in place to reward good money saving ideas with a portion of the amount saved. I have supported Obama because I feel he has the youth, talent and openess to solicit and accept ideas for the betterment of our nation as I refer to America as a nation instead of a country. A country is geographic referring to land features while a nation are the people who comprise our population. Our flag represents our nation appropriately with the red representing the blood, toil and tears, the white representing the purity of intent of our founders and the blue of the sky representing the limit that all Americans can expect to achieve. Let us all come together once again, right now!!!

Presumptive President-elect!!!

As I have now voted and have accomplished everything in my power to assist the campaign, it is now all over but the shouting. McCain will continue spreading lies and venom in his final efforts to have the Admiral's Baby get his way regardless of what's best for America. I am hoping the polls are correct and that Obama will be our next President yet I am even more hopeful that he will be a GOOD President of the people and for the people. Our nation is deeply split from the past 8 years and is in dire need of a good ADMINISTRATION not just a President. No President can run an entire nation, it requires QUALIFIED cabinet members to head departments, create and implement policy and administrate the government competently. I am hopeful that Obama can accomplish this daunting task and hope Americans will rally around to assist at every turn. This time before the election should begin our national reconciliation to forge ahead to preserve our nation. November 4, is simply the beginning of the beginning since the Bush administration still has till January to finish destroying the world. We must all save our money and resources till the danger is past and pray our new President is wise, competent and loyal to our nation.

What A Contrast!!!

Today I awoke to the sounds of politics on my television, McCain, Palin, and Cindy on various channels spouting rhetoric and calling names and railing against Washington corruption and unfairness of the LIBERAL media. I CHANGED channels to CNN and watched an Obama campaign event a forum of government and business leaders speaking about SOLUTIONS AND PROGRESS demonstrating leadership in its finest form. I fail to understand why all America doesn't embrace leadership searching for solutions instead of beating the dead horse of politics. It is a contrast in approaches to the same goal yet one is making progress while the other is merely backsliding. I am pleased with my choice and if desiring choices make me a LIBERAL then sign me up!!!

Obama's Grandmother

Tis well that Obama visits his grandmother in these waning days of the campaign as campaigns will come and go but family is forever. The McPain folks haven't had much if any substance to their credit so these last two weeks will be spent watching how badly they can make asses out of themselves. Unfortunately, during this campaign from hell we haven't addressed most issues such as illegal immigration, tax reform, social security reform, election reform, etc.. because of the response to our collapsing economy and growing negativity from McPain people without a plan. This time now belongs to America to finalize our decisions upon the direction we wish to steer our nation. I do hope Obama's grandmother finds comfort with his visit and pray the lord's blessing upon her. May the lord be with the Obama and Biden families at this time of personal grief and challenges.

The Sad Part of This Election

It is disturbing to note the discontent caused by the McPain camp willing to whip our nation into a frenzy with their rhetoric spouting inflamatory words. It is as if their desire to have riots in the streets versus losing an election. Nothing could be more anti-America than wishing harm to our democratic process yet McPain seems to be willing to risk everything.
Colin Powell

Colin Powell's endorsement is no surprise as he is an honorable man betrayed by his President by endorsing a war under false rationale. I am a firm believer that Powell was fed false information by various sources and required to take the actions to support his President. Time will tell how history notes the last 8 years but Gen. Powell will forever possess the integrity of an officer and a gentleman. His endorsement of Obama impresses me even more than before because it is an act of a true American, setting aside politics, personal gain and alliances to do as he feels best for America. This is the mark of a great leader!!!

The Issue of Race!!!

Most Americans utilize the terms prejudice, discrimination and racism interchangably and with little responsibility nor clear understanding of the terms. Now that America has an African American Presidential candidate, it well past time we educated ourselves and used the terms correctly if we are to use them at all. Prejudice is inherent in human nature as it is used constantly as a means to make choices in our lives from our diets, clothing, friends, spouses, entertainment, etc... we exceute our prejudices for or against everything constantly as part of normal life. When our prejudices affect the lives of others, they become discrimination forcing others to live without something within the definition of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Racism is the subjecting of an entire group of people based upon one or more people deciding to bring prejudice and discrimination based upon their personal preferences. In short, prejudices are normal, discrimination is illegal and racism is illogical yet all are unConstitutional and unAmerican. To utilize dscrimination or racism is to deny the power of God as our ultimate judge and to usurp that power from his omnipotent being. America is now in the throes of a great recession or depression caused by a government controlled by white men ergo any issues of prejudice, discrimination and racism do not apply when placing reasons or blame for our woes in life. When America arrives at the polls they should decide what is best for America and which candidates can accomplish their desires in Congress, Senate, Local Offices and the Presidency. If the race of any candidate is an issue of any voter, then they negate the democratic process by making poor choices for our nation. Election Day is America's Day and personal bias must be focused upon the best decisions for America!!!

I hope everyone are not overlooking our military conducting raids like hell in Pakistan in a desparate attempt at getting Osama before election day. At this point, displaying the body of Bin Laden would be the only thing to save the Republicans. Stay aware till Independence Day which falls on January 20, 2009 next year!!!

Joe The Plumber!!!!

While McCain found some success with his Joe the Plumber, it is still the old "not in my backyard" ploy. Joe the Plumber doesn't want his taxes raised yet refuses to address our huge national debt, wants universal healthcare provided he does not have to pay extra taxes, supports the war in Iraq because we've brought great things to the Iraqis like missionaries yet neglects to mention fighting terror as the real mission & purpose of the war and deaths, etc... In short, by ignoring the issues, Joe the Plumber may be a successful campaign ploy if only life was only a campaign not a real world situation. America needs a fair tax system without loopholes, emphasis upon alternative energies, healthcare by opening Medicare to the general public at a cost, a refocus upon fighting terror within a global partnership with a plan, responsible fiscal policies, economic revitalization, etc... Like most Americans, Joe The Plumber wants his needs addressed within his little corner of the world while neglecting the big picture of a national revitalization plan beginning with reviews of our government structure and budget, fair taxation, a national security plan, etc... its time America reorganized for the first time in 232 years. Joe The Plumber should be focusing upon learning energy efficiency in his business and consider the debt he will be passing to his children if America followed his stay the course candidate!!!

Russian Flyovers???

Um, Gov. Palin is saying that the Russians are flying into US airspace over Alaska routinely because she has seen them from Alaska!!! Have Georgie and the Republicans disabled NORAD??? Elmendorf AFB, Alaska is a regional headquarters for NORAD in Alaska protecting our nation from Russian incursions upon US Air Space as its been since at least WWII. Surely, the Governor must be aware of the US Air Force and NORAD conducting patrols of Alaskan Airspace and those really big satellite dishes called RADAR scanning for anything coming over the Pole!!! Has this woman been smoking something in the great white North??? NORAD is the command which scrambles jets whenever anything enters American airspace and as done so for many years, so nothing new here!!!

The Fear Factor!!!

To paraphrase FDR - The only thing we have to fear are the Republicans themselves!!! Both contestants in the Republican Price Is Right have resorted to fear tactics in their desparate attempt as bargain basement candidates to win at any cost. I would respond by stating simply while their are a plethora of dangers in our world the most shocking are the ideas or lack thereof in the Republican Party. If their comrade in the White House doesn't create a daily crisis, the dynamic duo of McClame and his bobble-headed partner will create another fear scenario following the path of psuedo-assurance taken from the Republican Manifesto, when in doubt simply call them the liberal left!!! As a former Republican Cross-breed, I refused to drink the Kool-Aid so I now endorse Obama as the Great National Hope since he offers solutions without fear.

The Time Has Come!!!

In 2003, George Bush gave his "addicted to oil" SOTU speech intended to emphasize America's need for alternative energies, yet since that speech his administration has only placed hurdles in the pathway delaying progress at all costs. Now with our failing economy we must look ahead to our future energy requirements and new technology. The Department of Energy has released a report to Congress concerning the transition to a hydrogen economy which will promote our economic, environmental, financial and entreprenuerial growth as a nation. I highly recommend Obama reference this report as evidence of real change and the plans for the future. The National Hydrogen Association estimates an investment of $10B in hydrogen fueling stations will put the first 1 million fuel cell automobiles on America's highways with industry proceeding afterward. The time has come not for merely talking about change but implementing change!!!
Oops!!!

As I try to be fair minded I have noticed something which I hope may one day become an issue. In our energy conscience world, Sarah Palin's aircraft has winglets to increase fuel efficiency while Obama's and McCain's do not. A minor fact except with the economy and energy such issues having both Presidential Candidates failing to take one simple step to save thousands if not millions in fuel while our nation is struggling is beyong belief. In fact, Air Force One does not have winglets either since its arrogant owner refuses to allow the air force to save money by installing them thereby wasting tax dollars on every trip. Winglets are being installed upon every aircraft in the world except for high performance fighters because they save on average 15-20% every time they fly. The Air Force has installed winglets on all cargo aircraft as mission permits due to constant use. I would hope that our nation's leaders would become more conscience of saving money before America goes broke!!! I fear nobody cares nor would find this an issue yet the times would suggest perhaps we should start!!!

I Am Impressed!!!

While monitoring our financial meltdown I have noticed Obama is hiring, no not for manual labor but the best and brightest to advise and consult with in a push to develop a cabinet to e ready on day one of his administration. With talent not merely in politics but in running our government he has demonstrated leadership beyond that of his opponent. While McCain spouts Obama is slow on addressing the financial meltdown, Obama has already obtained Paul Volcker as one of his advisora who is also head of the G30 group of financial nations of the world and who is also working upon the new regulations over the lending industry. Now that's leadership in action by doing instead of merely talking. I hope the next debate Obama will mention his "Action Team" of talent prepared to address economic issues as well as all other issues facing our nation. I for one am impressed not by rhetoric but by who Obama has consulted and his progress behind the scenes. America should know these things!!!

Growing Enthusiasm!!!

Obama is holding his own in te debates but should mention that he has Paul Volcker on his staff of advisors evidence of his dedication to the betterment of America regardless of political boundaries. Volcker was Fed chaiman before Greenspan, appointed by Carter yet a huge part of the Reagan years. I hope Obama uses this to assuage tensions over finances, prove his apolitical side for improving America and connecting with undecided Reaganite voters. Volcker is also head of the G30 group currently reviewing and rewriting global financial regulations further proof that Obama is already ON THE JOB!!! While the McPain campaign is focused upon lies and mudslinging Obama is focused upon moving ahead having quality staff on hand on day one. This is indicative of leadership which cannot be broadcast in campaign soundbites.

Stay Positive!!!

America is facing many challenges of late, economic, political, environmental, spiritual and the desintegration of American dreams and values. The very last thing we need is a negative Presidential campaign. McCain can afford to be negative because that's the slash & burn Republican tactic to denounce anyone with an idea or opinion different than the lock-stepping masses who are satisfied as long as they have their own financial security and the nation be damned. Obama and I are but 2 months apart in age and thus we are the end of the baby boom generation which entailed carrying over many values from the previous generation of duty, honor, service and integrity. Most folks have overlooked what makes Obama such a terrific speaker versus other politicians, he is carrying the torch for his generation, his race, his family as well as his nation and thus believes in what he is saying versus simply reciting prepared remarks. We must return to the days when there were no bad ideas and no sequelching of initiative but most of all no lack of direction. America has been boldly going nowhere for 8 terrible years and have now mortgaged my generation's future due to the greed of the ruling powers. We must ensure the end of the baby boom generation is the last of the lost generations of our nation. We must remain positive at all costs and remember the past only to avoid repeating mistakes. If Obama can remain positive, he will positively be our next President!!!

Way To Go Joe!!!

Despite all the mud slinging and politics, Joe's decision to support Jill during her mother's situation shows true leadership by focusing upon what's important in life. Any man who will break from campaigning this close to an election to support his family gets my vote and admiration. Thanks Joe for doing the right thing!!!

How Much Prep Is Required???

The question I would pose to the Republican camp is how much prep time in Arizona will Palin require if she is called upon to assume the Presidency??? While debates make great headlines I would hope that the VP would be prepared to assume the Presidency at a moment's notice without days of preparation. Perhaps Obama can suggest this during the next debate!!!

Please Be Polite!!!

During the Biden/Palin debate I recommend he be polite and respectful without being patronizing. Addressing her as Governor or Ma'am and staying positive at all times refusing to stoop to personal attacks in favor of providing solutions and examples based upon his years of experience. I've always found that posing questions of a debate opponent is more effective than slashing them to pieces. Ask questions if she gets condescending or arrogant The Obama/Biden campaign is fighting for undecided voters from all parts of America and they ceratinly can attract more flies with honey!!!

America is Responding!!!

The turmoil over the bailout may become a moot point if America is responsible with our finances. The personal savings rate has skyrocketed nearing 2001 levels which can provide liquidity for banks to begin lending to business and individuals once again. Instead of a bailout by spending, I propose a bailout by saving even if it takes longer. The economy and our nation would be much stronger by limiting our credit adventures by saving for our purchases and ancillaries. Hopefully the candidates will lead the charge to boost savings to build a healthy economy!!!

http://www.bea.gov/briefrm/saving.htm

First Debate

I was personally disappointed at the lack of energy displayed, lack of ideas and Obama's bowing to McCain's condescending arrogance. The body language was clearly noticable that McCain doesn't like being on stage with anyone who questions his actions. In upcoming debates, I would force McCain to look at Obama by repeatedly addressing him directly and not allowing him to talk over Obama's points. Obama's strengths are by laying out plans of action not responding to criticisms. The audience respose meter dipped every time Obama made a negative statement particularly concerning past mistakes by the Bush administration or McCain's suport of Bush's policies. It was very clear to me that America knows our problems and only wants to hear solutions not a rehash of what we have done wrong. Every criticism should be met with a positive reply of a plan of action. I felt Obama lost due to failing to maintain his message of change which is our only hope.

Too Close To Bailout!!!

Perhaps Senator Obama can ask Senator McCain why his son resigned as a member of Silver State Bank bank's oversight board 2 months before the bank failed. That would appear to be mighty close to questionable activity. I swear these pols are trying to repair all the damage they are continuing to cause themselves. It is senseless to bail out people who a punching holes in the boat!!!

Questions, Questions!!!

I think the secret to approaching the McCain/Palin Campaign (AKA McPain Campaign) is to repeatedly ask questions of them without appearing overly aggressive and critical while continuing to respect McCain's service to our nation. By asking tough questions and or advice he will reveal himself to be unprepared to serve as President. Senator Obama by addressing issues, developing a plan, meeting with advisors and acting Presidential is creating an aura of success which McCain cannot possibly match. I am not interested in the political fight only in the fight for the success of our nation. To combat our financial crisis, I suggest a joint partnership announcement between the campaign and Congress to develop not only a plan for our financial system but a life-cycle plan to enact a balanced budget and a reorganization of the federal government for the first time in 232 years!!! By pledging to conduct a line-item budget/reorganization review by department within the first year of the administration, it will exhibit true change and a desire to abandon piecemeal patches in favor of a joint effort to identify challenges in every department of our government to affect true change. The Congress must be included to show unity for the good of our nation adressing our challenges. The life-cycle plan would demonstrate the flexibility required in our dynamic society. During these final days of the campaign, I would adopt a challenges versus problems approach announcing that America doesn't have problems only challenges yet to be met. A problem is for losers to lament upon while being helpless to control where a challenge is something which can be faced and overcome. In short, terminal cancer is a problem but a disfunctional government is our challenge!!!
