"Coke claimed: 'On March 2nd, the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers' Associations (IUF) announced that it had requested the International Labor Organization (ILO) to investigate and evaluate past and present labor relations and workers' rights practices of the Coca-Cola bottling operations in Colombia...'"Coke's claims were contradicted by the IUF, Coke representatives and the ILO: 1. The IUF never asked for such an investigation. The IUF's Ron Oswald: "Well, he [Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO E. Neville Isdell] was wrong, and they know he was wrong...Our proposal to the ILO was very clear: we did not ask them to do an investigation into criminal or murderous events in the 1990s...I don't think they've got the competence to do that, frankly... The motion was made, seconded and approved to support the boycott. Information explaining the reason for the boycott will be distributed to the membership of IBEW Local 2323 at union meetings. "I make a motion that IBEW Local 2323 will support the boycott of Coca Cola products that include Dasani, Fanta, Minute Maid, Nestea, Powerade and Sprite at our union meetings and events. The purpose of the talks, the company said, was 'to assess whether a mediated resolution of the parties' differences could be achieved'. In short, it was looking to settle out of court, and with a settlement such as this comes money - a lot of money. How much? A barrowful. Although I cannot disclose the exact sum offered to Sinaltrainal and the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, it is my understanding that it had six noughts at the end of a dollar sign and a couple of digits in between. "If the company was offering money, what were the conditions attached to it? I spoke to Ed Potter, the Coca-Cola Company's global workplace rights director, a man with intimate knowledge of these negotiations. The only reason Coca-Cola negotiated, he believes, was 'because they don't want us to keep reporting them [campaigning] ... What the company wanted was to buy the silence of the people involved. They give some money to the victims in order not to denounce the problem.' The negotiations broke down in early 2008. Coca-Cola said 'no final resolution was possible. An impasse was reached and no further discussions are anticipated at this time.' Arguably, the impasse was a result of the conditions of the settlement: Coke would pay millions of dollars, but anyone working for Coca-Cola Femsa and involved in the lawsuit had to leave their jobs - they could no longer work for Coke's contractors. But more than this, they would be legally bound never to criticise Coca-Cola again. According to Paez, this would apply 'not only in Colombia but everywhere in the whole world. They wanted us to sign an agreement that no one would denounce Coca-Cola any more, for the rest of their lives.' The assessment, released in January 2008, was a damning indictment of Coca-Cola's water management practices in India. A dictatorship is usually an autocratic form of government which the government is ruled by a dictator. The Roman dictator was a political office of the Roman Republic Empire allocating absolute power during times of emergency. Their power neither arbitrary nor unaccountable being subject to law and requiring justification. There were no dictatorships before the beginning of the 20th Century BCE. Later dictators such as Sulla and the Roman Empires exercised power more personally and arbitrarily. Secondly dictatorship refers to an autocratic form of absolute rule by leadership unrestricted by law constitutions or other social and political factors. Dictatorship is a form of government that has the power to govern without consent of those being governed, while totalitarianism describes that regulates every aspect of public and private behavior of people where the power comes from the dictator and the rule of dictatorship concerns what is the government and the scope of governing power. Government without he peoples consent is dictatorship, government whose power comes from the people is the contrasting government of democracy. Totalitarianism is government controlling every aspect of the peoples life corresponds to liberalism defining government concerns emphasizes individuals rights and liberty dictatorship states shows totalitarians characteristic when government power doesn’t come from the people their power doesn’t comes from the people their power is not limited and tend to expand their scope of power to control every aspect of people’s life. Dictatorship becomes a feature of military government especially in Latin America, Asia and Africa . Many African or Asian formers colonies after achieveing their independence in postwar wave decolonization, presidential regimes were gradually transformed into personal dictatorship. The regimes proved unstable with the personalization of power in the hands of the dictator’s associates making the political system uncertain. During the Cold War the United States and the USSR expanded and maintained their influence zones by financing paramilitary and political groups and encouraging coups d’ etat especially in Africa that have led many states to brutal civil wars and consequent manifestations of authoritarianism. I'am passing the applications to students in the Student Center Building, because I'am a Student Affairs Office Clerk (FCWS).

Credit: Bill Arnett As part of our Messages from Earth project, The Planetary Society is working with NASA and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory to collect names to fly on NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.

NASA invites people of all ages to join the lunar exploration journey with an opportunity to send their names to the Moon aboard the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft.

The Send Your Name to the Moon website enables everyone to participate in the lunar adventure and place their names in orbit around the Moon for years to come. At the site, participants can submit their information and print a certificate. The database of names will be placed on a microchip that will be integrated onto the spacecraft. The deadline for submitting names is June 27, 2008.

"Everyone who sends their name to the Moon, like I'm doing, becomes part of the next wave of lunar explorers," said Cathy Peddie, deputy project manager for LRO at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. "The LRO mission is the first step in NASA's plans to return humans to the moon by 2020, and your name can reach there first. How cool is that?"

The orbiter, comprised of six instruments and one technology demonstration, will provide the most comprehensive data set ever returned from the Moon. The mission will focus on the selection of safe landing sites and identification of lunar resources. It also will study how the lunar radiation environment could affect humans.

LRO will also create a comprehensive atlas of the Moon's features and resources that will be needed as NASA designs and builds a planned lunar outpost. The mission will support future human exploration while providing a foundation for upcoming science missions. LRO is scheduled for launch in late 2008.

Send Your Name to the Moon is a collaborative effort among NASA, The Planetary Society, and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.

We college scientist/assistants need not be alone in our laboratories working and studying alone where the rest of the world doesn't know. Somebody has to do the job for the public, honestly it is not our true stratification to do this for anyone because our student income is low transfer payments that will help us through college and university years.

Sen. Obama's presidential victory will go to war in the mountains of Afghanistan if the United States is attacked again. North Korea can show the media the might of their nuclear bomb blast, Iran might try to gat the Plutonium or Uranium 235, 236 237 isotopes in order to build anuclear missiles, but I think a president Obama will install a high technology nuclear defense and missile shield.
