Why I Support Barack Obama

Through the ages, the greatest leaders have possessed tenacity, vision, and a great love of their people. They brought their nations to a new renaissance not by litany of fact or prowess of battle, but by igniting the spark of a common purpose that each person carries within them. A great leader inspires people to imagine new possibilities and dares them to realize their full potential.

All three candidates possess a great love of their country, and I believe that each would dutifully execute their responsibilities. However, today, America needs more than a better bureaucrat. Only Barack Obama holds the promise of a great leader, and with the political and economic turmoil that has befallen America, mediocrity is not enough.

Barack Obama will be a world leader with a rare blend of wisdom, sincerity, brilliance, and humor that will guide the United States through a difficult time. He will restore a sense of purpose, hope, and balance.

I do not agree with every solution that Barack Obama proposes. I do not believe that Barack Obama's presidency will be without mistakes, and I am uncertain of the degree of his success in reversing the recessionary global economy. However, I am convinced that Barack Obama will always be honest with the American people, meet every challenge with consideration and resolve, and work tirelessly to unite America in this new era.

Unlike his opponents, Barack Obama is willing to concede his mistakes and to take responsibility for his errors, as we have seen in this campaign. He believes in facing challenges head-on, with honesty and integrity. While pundits and opponents often see this as a political weakness, I believe this is his greatest strength.

America has stood idle for the last few years as the world has rapidly changed. If she is to continue to enjoy the mantle of the greatest nation in the world in this next century, she must elect a leader representative of this time, these challenges, and these opportunities.
