Actually, I think I wrote it minutes after he won the election, but now he actually is President. And now, my heart feels so full. I don't cry easily, but if I did, I would right now.

Wow. I will just absorb the moment for the next couple of hours now.

Barack my friend.

You are the president of the WORLD.

You are MY President, as much as anybody's.

I cannot wait for the changes I trust you will bring, Mr President.

I cannot wait to work with you in my own small way.

I cannot wait to feel like I made a difference along with you and everybody.

Barack and his campaign always represented to me, one thing- "the little engine that could". I had thought of him that way long before he introduced the phrase "Yes We Can" into the campaign in NH. He was the boy who shouldn't have been winning all those caucuses and primaries, and yet did. He came out of nowhere, with little money, and little fame, and little support from the Dem party, oh-and by the way- he was black!! But, he reminded of one thing that I didn't even realize I had forgotten- that it was ok to DREAM BIG. to AIM HIGH. Not "realistically", but even UNrealistically is ok. You can make the IMpossible possible, if you BELIEVE you could, and come up with a SMART strategy to make it come true, and of course, NEVER give up. Until then, I had the unconscious motto of aiming for the realisitc and never giving up on that, but Barack brought BACK the idea of actually, shameless pursuing your dreams.

I watched and cheered him on with as perseverence that he showed. Reminding others on this very blog to hold on and keep their eye on the ball when they'd get frustrated or mad at him for something( still remember the explosion here after the FISA vote), and I was fuelled and influenced by the calm focus that he showed. It was as if it had rubbed off on me. That is a trait I will take with me forever.

I saw take hit after hit from Hillary and Bill, and never really seem to flinch. I saw him handle the excalating racism and venom that was encouraged by the McCain camp. Damn! I will NEVER be as cool, and lord! as forgiving as this guy!!LOL.

His ability to forgive is such a huge example, that I must confess I have yet to learn . But I'm so glad to see a real-life ending that is so much like what we see in the movies,

you know...

the ones where the good guys WIN.

Address to civil rights marchers by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 28, 1963

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But 100 years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men -- yes, black men as well as white men -- would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check that has come back marked "insufficient funds."

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and security of justice. We have also come to his hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. 1963 is not an end but a beginning. Those who hoped that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges. ****

But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.

As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "for whites only." We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no we are not satisfied and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today my friends -- so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.

With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day, this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning "My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my father's died, land of the Pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring!"

And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true. And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado. Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi -- from every mountainside.

Let freedom ring. And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring -- when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children -- black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics -- will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! I was wondering WHY I couldn't just let go of the fact that I hadn't seen the concert live. Well, I realized why, its cause I saw everything that happened to Obama last year in the campaign, and felt like he had been my friend, my personal friend, even though I live all the way in Canada. In many way, his life became MINE. I know everything there is to know about him, and I feel I know his personality, and I feel as if I've met him and known him personally for a long time., Frankly, the reason I was drawn to him is cause he reminds of my dad and bro. I campaigned online, spreading the word, arguing with Repubs, and creating videos, petitions and other things on his behalf. I had no life of my own almost, and may have gone down in some of my grades bc of that, but it didn't matter cause he was a worthy cause.

I thought I was going to be a part of this inauguration through television. I had no reason to think I would miss anything major. I didn't evpect to see EVERYTHING, but hoped what I missed would be no big deal. I was blindsided to know HBO took away the rights to the music show. No idea I wouldn't be able to see it live, which in my book is the only way to watch an inauguration. It didn't matter that I could watch on youtube, it was "how dsre they?"

Honestly, I felt I had missed my best friends wedding or something. Whenever I hear or see clips of Barack actually dancing with his family, I can't believe I was robbed of the surprise and cheer of seeing that moment live. I was robbed of having a trouble free Sunday and a good time. It just bothered me. I guess I expected perfection. I know I'm not the only one who missed it, but it wasn't enough to make me feel better at the time. The uninterrupted high I was expecting was interrupted, and I was ill equipped to handle it.

Anyway, the most important event is tomorrow, and those of us who missed HBO concert can hopefully make what I think was an awful, selfish PR decision on behalf of Obama, the inaugural committee, and HBO especially, a distant memory. History will be made tomorrow, and I won't let this mar that. I got my VCR(yes, I still use that) set!!!

One thing that the dissenters and supporters of Obama's choice of invocator have in common is that neither side has bothered to try to have the discussion that Obama has said he wanted to instigate by choosing Rick Warren. Since I am the one who is thinking of this, I have decided to be the one to start the discussion. The subject is gay marriage or relationships, and since this can be very emotional, I want ppl to read the following and think before proceeding.

Yeah, they don't have to be a "rubber stamp"(I don't even understand that analogy) for Obama, but the disrespect is completely obnoxious, considering how they rolled over for Bush. Going to the press to whine publicly, before even seeking Obama out is inexcusable. First Feinstein whines about not being asked permission to nominate Panetta, as if she's Obama's boss and she does it PUBLICALLY, now all the other Dems in the senate are complaining about the tax cuts. Why can't they take it up with HIM???? He's right there, willing to talk, encouraging it!!! I'm disappointed in John Kerry in particular, but all of them suck to me.

Then you have Harry Reid saying Obama is not his boss. Who the hell asked you??? Is there a reason you feel the need to rebel before he even takes office?? You normally come across as so weak, but you get tough when it comes to mild-mannered Obama,who isn't looking to cause trouble with you?? Ohhhh, big strong Reid is here!!!!

That Conyers guys with his petition is an idiot!! Enough said. This revolution against Obama's choice of Gupta is ridiculous, and again he could have voiced opposition in a respectful manner. Women are being irrational toward Obama

So mad because he has only 5 women in his cabinet. How come blacks don't complain that there are only 4 of them in the cabinet? How come Hispanics and Asians aren't as vocal? How come Repubs are not complaining, and they're the ultimate complainers against Dems? When you're trying have everybody represented(which Obama clearly was), obviously no group will have an overwhelming number. Also, remember that Obama has to choose based on ability, so all this talk about minority representation is a distraction that needs to stop. I don't remember Obama saying that change means my cabinet will look like the U.N.. What he promised was to make policies to help women, and women should give him a chance to do that. And, again they're acting like their group is the only one that matters here, and although I'm a woman I find that so friggin annoying.

While the value of lives is equally precious in India as in Nigeria, the causes of the violence are different, as are the economic and political ties between the United States and each of these countries. As a result, the press did focus significantly more attention on India than Nigeria.

It is appropriate that one ought to be equally concerned with or saddened by injustice, oppression and cruelty around the world regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation.

Angelina Jolie and other Hollywood celebrities have done much to bring attention to those who might not have had any. It is interesting to note that not more wealthy and famous black sports and entertainment celebrities have shared their spotlight on the less fortunate.

Another Pro is that Hillary will be Obama's EMPLOYEE! Yeah! He's boss. He's someone she doesn't respect too much, but now she will WORK for him!!! HAHA.

Joe Biden speaking again was great. I even almost find Hillary endearing around him.

Cons: The reporter taking Barack to task for things he said about her. Why didn't he ask why Hillary accepted a job from Obama, when during the campaign, she SWORE he was "less than less".

Anyway, I came to terms with this Hillary SoS thing yesterday. He's boss, the policies will be his, and if she sneaks around behind his back, I will trust, hopefully, Barack to already know what to do beforehand.

I wish the media could have made room for this story too, but because it was not "terrorism" and of COURSE since it was AFRICA, it didn'[t matter. This is something we will have to wait a year later to hear George Clooney or Angelina Jolie point out how awful it was and the consequences still being lived with. At a time when the damage is done, and there's little to nothing that can be done to help. I hope this time, with an incoming President of AFRICAN descent, Africa will be treated a bit differently. I hope so. I will be saddened if not.

I was aware from the beginning that Obama cannot have Africa in his top 10 lists of things to do. Frankly, the problems in the U.S. are enormous, and even if not so that country has to matter more than Africa. I get that. But when I find out on yahoo! that something this major happened, without a blip on TV, and I hear all the talk of Obama contacting India and giving his condolences and making that a priority, well, I see a little red. Is is possible that he didn't hear about the events in Nigeria? For some reason I feel he would have quicker access to the news than the rest of us, I mean doesn't he have members of his team who have to check world events to notify him how to act and when in order to look presidential??? but on the other hand, I hope he didn't hear it, cause it would mean it wasn't deemed important enough to talk about by him and his team. Either way, I want this to be shown consideration, and I want to know that from now on, there WILL be a President that will put my home continent on a list of important issues, at least just a LITTLE more so than past presidents have, even if only in his SECOND term, or end of first term. Whenever he's able to solve the economic crisis. If he won't, then how the heck can I expect any president to?

Maybe I sound unreasonable to some here, but I'm speaking from the heart. It hurt me to read this story from yesterday, and realize it was ignored.

You know, the Clinton supporters got to have their very long moments last summer, venting out their frustrations and being the center of attention. "Will they or won't they join the Obama wagon?". We all got to be so concerned, and sooo sorry for their feelings. So careful with our words, welcoming them here, trying to achieve unity. Fine, but you know what? I find myself here with my own unresolved anger . Nothing was done to make it up to us for the difficulty Clinton gave Obama and his supporters during the primaries. We had to pretend it was all good just cause our side won. Wrong! So many screws, so many lies told, and I have never seen her or her husband apologize for hit. Do they even KNOW they did anything wrong??? Tell me they ain't that crazy! So, yeah, that's the biggest reason I don't want her in the administration, cause I don't believe her devious , ruthless style will or SHOULD mix with the inspiring, hardworking style Barack has shown us. Petty? Maybe, but I also think its reasonable. She canNOT be trusted. I still have flashes at how creative and convincing she was. McCain NEVER scared me as much as she did at her worst. I think her behaviour was insulting to a fellow Democrat, and she said things that she KNEW would be repeated by the Repubs if he won the nomination. All to screw him over. Like the speech in 2002 as experience line, and John McCain has more. Yep, she compared to Rove and some other people I can't remember right now, but it went on and on for MONTHS. And I have had to sit back for months and watch pundits and everyone else praise her for so called "strength" and tenacity. I know tenacity, and that entitled obsession was not it. To me, selfishly pursuing what you want, at the expense of a party you're supposed to love is not strength, it is the ultimate weakness. Greed is not strength, entitlement and selfishness are not strength. It would have been much HARDER and smarter to admit she couldn't reach the number of delegates and drop OUT on a longtime dream. That is hard that is strength. Dirty tricks are NOT strenght. Is this what ppl mean when they say shes inspiring our daughters?? I would roll my eyes whenever Barack would say she inspired his precious daughters. He's nuts if he really believes that after all she did for him. She was NOT bout to concede after he won. She was gonna push on till the convention, and only changed her mind when her political supporters flooded her with calls to drop it! She couldn't go in with no back up. I will not give her credit for support ing him, cause she HAD to. She made a public vow to, and only because she was still certain SHE could win it. Her concession speech had no heart or sincerity or real endorsement of Barack, it was all about HER and her acheivements. She was NOT prepared to have to really concede, and looked like she had to chew a block of wood to do it. I get it was hard, I do, but when I'm sure I can do a bette r job, something is wrong! I also do NOT credit her support, because I feel it the least she owes him after PURPOSELY causing division with her lies and dogged selfishness. Duh! You SHOULD do it. And I don't see why Barack should owe her a PENNY for a debt she accumulated in her attempt to drag him through the mud, as well as win something she couldn't. No one forced her to spend all that money, certainly not Barack.

As to the wonderful convention speeck:

As good as her speech was, it was not goog enough. She never really gave her supporters reasons why they should put their faith in Obama, like what a good leader she believes he'll be. His smarts, his integrity, the fact that he was able to beat her. She never said he's ready to lead like her husband did. I think she finally did say what he'll do for women, which by GOD I waited since June for her to do. She never said that "although you are confused due to the things I said about him not being ready to lead, that he's unelectable, that he was cheating with the FL, MI fiasco, that he was Rovian,..." and all the other things she said to incite HATRED upon him, she never said " All were said in the spirit of competing, please disregard them and give him a chance". Basically, her supporters had to struggle with the difficulty of voting for a guy they believed was a complete JERK, and many could not make up their minds until the bitter END. This bitch was still holding back, no matter how many events you tell me she did. She made sure there was a little room for him to FAIL so she can take up the banner in 4 years. We are VERY lucky that the roll-call ended up taking away the pent up anger, I give her credit for that idea, but I'm not sure she expected it to work out that way.Aslo, the economy failing was a bit of a "blessing" for him. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, until it was reported tha t she met with her team to discuss 2012, just after her "rousing speech". A decent person would have waited until Nov. 4th to see if he LOSES first. Sorry, this woman is OBSESSED with being president, and Barack is ASKING for it, by putting her so close to his job.

p.s. Forgot to mention the bitterness comment, which she and McCain deliberately interpreted negatively to use against him. She could have cleared that up after the primaries, especially since it followed Barack till the bitter end.

p.s.s. I just want to add, that for all the talk about letting Leiberman stay in the caucus being an insult to Dems who worked hard for Obama's candidacy, why isn't letting Hillary reap the fruits of Obama's administration considered an even bigger insult? She did much more damage to him than Leiberman, alot of opinions that are false still float around, and people voted for him despite their distate, but just cause either he's a Dem or they trust him with the economy.

Personally, I think he's hiring way too many Clinton people. He won his supporters because of his own abilities, not because he can piggy-back off the Clintons' past success. Alot has been made about him being the first AA Prez, but for me as a supporter, it was about so much more. This is about what Barack himself has achieved against the odds beyond the colour of his skin.He was an upstart with no real connections or fame, very little money. All he had was heart and ideas. He started a movement, and the reason alot of his supporters celebrate his win is because it is THEIR victory, it was a campaign THEY RAN as much as HE ran it.It was a special campaign at a special time, a David vs. Goliath story that may never be seen again. The kind of thing that can only happen when a nation is at its LOWEST. And he just began the movement to make it better. When I watched last week, his victory, these thoughts were what was foremost in my mind.

Side note: I've been wondering why I'm not so moved when I see ppl crying that he's the first AA. I realized its because I don't believe he's AA. Not just because he's half white, but even if you take that away, his blackness is African-not African American. If they said he's the first non-White, or the first African president, or even the first black, it might have an effect. I'm African myself, and I'm proud of this brilliant man making our people look good, but I don't feel that he or I are these descendents of MLK and those who talked about the promised land. I guess seeing a black person up there period should be something AAs are proud of, since we're all black. But it doesn't feel right when they say his ascension is the "promised land" for AAs. I feel like they need to wait till an AA does what he did.

I'm sure what I just said will be controversial, but there,its said.

It simply NOT TRUE!!! He had been CLOSING THE GAP on McCain's lead for about a week, and was almost passing him by the time the crash occurred. All the crash did was skyrocket his(Obama's) lead even bigger than it would have been. To me, with the exception of the Palin bump, it was always meant for Obama to be the lead in the polls by default, because ppl were ALWAYS worried about the Economy and the need for change.

He looks bone tired, and I think its foolish of him to try to work so early after winning the election. The first two or three days should have been spent at home, not meeting advisors. It seems they cannot even call him Senator anymore. I'm ASTOUNDED at how much has changed in less than 24 hours. I cannot function and do anything else without herculian effort. I'm just so stunned and happy. I KNEW from DAY 1 he would win, but now that he has I just don't know what to do with my day, lol. I've spent 10 months of my life obsessing with this campaign. 10 months I won't get back, and don't really want back. It was worth it. But now I wonder, "what now?" What does he do? What do his supporters do?

I don't want to lose that closeness I feel to Barack. One thing I'm afraid of with him being President Elect is that he will no longer feel like "ours" anymore. He's kind of above that now. I sit here wondering what i'm going to type. I've been on this journey with you since I accidently put the tv on CNN and saw your name as the winner of the iowa caucuses. That was January 3rd, 2008. Exactly 10 months ago. I had spent the previous year telling myself that I was torn between you and Hillary, but the truth is my heart belonged to you deep down, all along. I rejoiced deep down and outside as well. I let my mom know about it, though she was visibly unhappy as a Clinton supporter. I told her "I like Hillary, but I'm rooting for him". Well, we have not spoken that much about this election since then. I took solace in the internet, youtube, Classic Whitney(yes, Houston), and finally discovering this board in March. I made youtube videos, and argued and fought for you in every place, physical and virtual that was possible. Through Hillary, Rev Wright, the Right, PUMA, so many obstacles that you and we overcame together!! I hung in there because God gave me a vision that I held onto since January 3rd. I KNEW, KNEW, KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO WIN! THAT'S why i hung on, cause I was backing a winner who was worth it!!! I had more faith in this movement than I have EVER felt in myself in my life, and that's no easy feat!!!

Thank you! For lifting the world from Repub rule! Thank you for restoring HOPE in the world. Thank you for reminding me of and reinforcing words that I never forgot but some how forgot the meaning of. "Yes. I. Can." I can!! I can!!! I reallly can reach for those stars literally!!! Not almost, with some limits, but I CAN dream that IMPOSSIBLE dream! I can look like a fool to others, and keep going and prove them wrong in the end!!!! Its not just fairytales, its REAL LIFE. I do not have the words to comfort him on this loss. I'm glad he got to see her one last time before she went. I was hoping she could make it past election day, but I had a sinking feeling she wouldn't based on the description of how sick she was. SICK of it! What more does Obama have to do to prove he's a serious candidate?? He's NOT an empty suit! You think Colin Powell would endorse an empty suit? He has Harvard education, could run an organization such as a large complex campaign like this one better than the ppl who have supposedly more experience than he does - like no one's business! He has the judgement and temperament, and he has a substantial amount of foreign policy experience and is learning more about the economy everyday! Quickly! He's no Sarah Palin! You think he would have ended up with similar policies to Hillary if he was so inferior?? She's amazing, but he had the foresight to know what the country needed-change. She didn't get that till it was too late. He predicted the war was wrong, that Afghanistan was the hotspot, that Iraq needed a timetable, he predicted the financial crisis, he has a large IQ btw, of a number I don't remember, but it was huge. If you look at both his and Clinton's resumes, there really isn't anything there at all that makes her superior, she just convinced alot of ppl she had so much more experience. He has more legislative office experience than she does. She only just became a U.S. senator without having to climb from state senator because she's Bill's wife. I'm not saying that to put her down, but its the only reason she's been in U.S. senate longer. And even that's not long, just a few years before Barack, they're both neophytes there!!!! After all the debates and everything else he's done to prove he belongs there, also by the way proving to be smarter and more ready than 26 year long senator John McCain, I can't believe ppl can still put him down like that!!!

I just want to make sure that he engages the audience, keeps them interested,while reassuring those who are having trouble warming up to him. Don't just talk about the middle class in this ad, but talk to all people. Talk to the poor for once, talk to the rich who are nervous about his tax increases for them. Make them understand WHY this plan will benefit the entire country of the U.S., including them indirectly. Those who are not too greedy to care will get it. Make this last impression of yourself, the BEST he's ever made in his life!

To Obama,

bring back the word "hope". I think that's what helped you rocket early in the primaries, not "change".

And, BEFORE the promo, fight back against these smears about your interview in 2001. I hear on CNN that it could be gaining traction with blue collar, rural white folks. These are the folks you've worked SO HARD to win over. Don't lose them at the last minute!!!!

Tell your friends and family and co-workers, those you know will be persuaded or listen to VOTE for Obama! Don't let them feel like their vote doesn't matter because he's so far ahead anyway, cause if one person feels that way, millions will too. Make them feel that URGENCY and DESPERATION. Pretend that Obama is NOT leading in the polls, and he is the UNDERDOG! Cause as far as we know, he still is until the last single vote is COUNTED on November 5th!!! Early voters who support Barack are the KEY I think. I remember in the primaries, the states that had early voting almost ALWAYS went to Obama! Push this the same way the Obama campaign was last week! Young people are the most at risk for becoming complacent. They may want to study, or hang out with friends instead. They may feel like they supported him in the primary and Obama is yesterday's news in a sense to them. Let them know that they are the reason he's where he is now, and his chances are dim if he doesn't still have their STRONG support!

NOBODY should get lazy or tired of it or indifferent, just cause the end is near. In fact, the end is when people's efforts are NEEDED the MOST! It would be like doing well in school all semester, and then deciding to skip your final exams. Its STUPID to take your eye off the ball now!!!

I knew since spring that he was leaning Obama, to be honest, but there was something so unexpectedly dramatic and powerful about how it happened. The only one that competes is when Richardson chose Obama over the Clintons. Don't know about you, but I didn't expect that. And it was just days after the Perfect Union speech, and a week after the Wright Crisis broke out. In other words, he SAVED Obama's ass!!!! I will forever be grateful to Bill Richardson for that, and like him, Powell has impeccable timing.

Apparently her health has been bad for weeks, and she recently deteriorated to the point where she's "seriously ill". She just came out of the hospital and Barack will see her on Thursday and Friday. He will resume his campaign over the weekend. As per CNN.

to know the difference. Obama's ads are usually about taxes, the economy, health care, etc. The issues. He attacks McCain, but on the issues. McCain's attacks are always personal, "he's a celebrity" "he's risky", "he's pals with Ayers" etc. So, while Obama's attacking(and its really only to fend off the impact of McCain's attacks), at least he's tying it to the issues. Gotta go, someone's calling, or else this would have been a longer post.

He claims that he "repudiated" his supporters' threats against Obama, but first of all he didn't. He repudiated those who were "scared" of him. Also, the use of the words "pall around" is inflammatory, and one of the major sources of the threats. Its not just doing business with them, or having worked with them, but "pall around". THAT is why his supporters want to kill Barack, cause you're confirming what they already believe- that he's one of them. What's dumb is that everytime he mentions "how" Obama palled around, he still goes back to those couple of board meetings. How is the "palling around"? How is that proof of this deep relationship that he insists Obama is hiding? Having board meeting is not friendship, last I checked. The man is a professor in Chicago. Obviously alot of ppl work and deal with him on a regular basis. What next, Ayers' STUDENTS should be considered traitors to America too? For associating with a terrorist? If he's so bad, why does he have this job? Please. Like Dave said, you can't control everyone you come into contact with 100%. You should know this John, so back off! You're lucky Barack was too much of a gentlemen to hammer the Keating Economics scandal home. He could have, but people use that and go "aha! he's no saint either!" It sucks. So he let it go.

McCain was funny. Though I didn't like his tacky Messiah joke(that was the one time Obama wasn't really laughing). I don't believe he really meant those nice words at the end. Obama was pretty funny, though some of his funniest jokes at the beginning ended up not being as funny cause he moved on too quickly(its all about timing!).
