Running for President is hard I'm sure

I'm sure that running for president is hard, getting up every day, facing the large crowd and working hard to deliver their message. To me, the ability to do that shows a hidden strength that some people don't believe that Senator Obama has. He always has a smile for everyone.

When I met him at the Mitchell, SD rally, he was very friendly and took the time to shake my hand and I'm sure if he had the time would have stopped and visited. I want a president that will take that time with the people in the United States and I believe he is that person.

With the time getting closer to the election, there is the need for all of us to work harder. It may be just talking to people. When I run into someone that says they don't know anything about Senator Obama, I tell them about his books, his website if they have internet. I've run into many people that don't have internet so they have no way of getting the information posted on this site. We need to keep informed and let others know.

I'm 61 years old, in remission from stage 3 colon cancer. I'm presently helping my mother who is 81. She is having health issues and recently found out that the supplemental insurance that she has expires in December. We'll be having to find a new insurance that will cover her problems or go back to Medicare and pay a big chunk for her bills. That would be alright if she had the money, but recently got scammed out of $3100. by an outfit posing as Publishers Clearing House.

This outfit sent an official looking check and a phone number to call. She didand they told her they needed this money to pay the taxes, then went into the bank, took the money from her savings and wired it through Walmart to them. The money went to Alberta, Canada and won't be seen again I'm sure. Publishers Clearing House has issued a Press Release pertaining to this and saying that they have no part of it. The also said "CONSUMERS SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT AT pUBLISHERS cLEARING hOUSE NO PAYMENT IS EVER NECESSARY TO CLAIM A PRIZE. If someone contacts you about winning a prize and requests that you send money back in return for any reason - STOP - you have not heard from the real Publishers Clearing House." If you get one of this letters or think you are a victim of this scam, contact your local police department.

If my mother had contacted me before her actions, I could have saved her money, but she did not tell me for 4 days. By this time, they had gotten the money and run. My mother is now almost broke, will have to sell her house for almost nothing compared to what she paid for it, and move into low-income housing apt in order to survive.

I'm hoping that President Obama will help to stop the scammers also. They prey on our elderly. I know that he is working on a health plan that my mother will be able to handle. He cares for all the people and wants to help any way he can.

I actually didn't make any decisions on who I wanted for President until I read several biographies on all the candidates. After I had read Senator Obamas, that is when I decided he was the one I wanted. I've also read all his policies and plans. We need to get others educated, but I must admit, that is also hard sometimes. Don't give up on Obama, because he can do the job.

Two days ago, I received an email from my husband's niece, knocking Mr. Obama and I fired back some of the antismear knocking her remarks as lies.

She then sent me back another email with more of the same, so I blocked her. This is how I'm handling any and all emails that are smears from now on, as they don't want to believe the truth anyway. I'm at least open minded enough to read a message, but when I have proof, I will send it, then block the person that started the whole thing, lol.

I probably won't have anyone on my email list by the time I get done, but that's ok too as I'm for Obama all the way to the White House.

Happy Father's Day to Barack Obama and to all the other Father's out there working hard for their families. My father passed away in 1990 so I'm adopting every father or want to be father for the day by wishing them all the best.

That was a great speech you gave, Mr. Obama. I hope that other fathers listened to your speech and take more interest in their children in the future if they haven't been.

It's been a busy week. I got my bookbinder ordered and now waiting for it as I have several booklets that I want to put together. Most of them are Obama pamphlets.

With all the rain, no floods here thank goodness, I've been mowing every 2 days. We have a large garden and that also takes time.

I hope to get a rummage sale together to make a little money for the campaign. I just need to find a better place than my farm to have it. I also need to get my fellow dems in Beadle County to contribute, lol. I also want to add some Obama Gear to my rummage sale for new price.

Welcome to all the new people coming in to check us out. We need to come together in order to win the Democratic party and try and get along.

I asked a Clinton supporter the other day why he voted for Hillary and he said her health plan. I asked him if he knew that Obama also had a health care plan and he said no. I then told him that their plans are similar, except that Hillary's would be mandatory as per this link:

If you read Mr. Obama's health care plan, he says he will help those that can't afford it. He had absolutely no idea of Mr. Obama's programs. I then told him that I'd put a packet of information together for him.

There are many people out there that have no idea of Obama's issues and plans. We can educate those people by reading his issues, fact sheets ourselves. Not everyone has access to a computer so they can't do research like we can.

This has been, what seems to be, a very one primary. This part of the campaign was long and hard and Obama needs a little breather and some long thought before he picks his VP. I hope that people give him this time and not pressure him to much.

What we need to do is figure out a way to educate the people that are confused as to who Obama is. I ran into lots of people that had are mistaken about Obama. We have the sheets that we can print out with some information, but maybe we all need to also educate ourselves by reading his books also so we can help in this process.

In the coming weeks, we have to band together as one. I trust Obama to help bring that about. I worked as a volunteer in the Huron area, both at home and at the office. I didn't do as much as I probably should have because we didn't win the popular vote in South Dakota, but what votes we did get gave him the delegates to win nominee.

I want to thank everyone that has worked on his campaign both on here and in your town and state. That includes our friends in other countries. We had Canadians friends in Huron that helped with our campaign and I want to thank them also.

I for one plan on working to get Obama in the White House.

All I can say is WOW, he was great as usual.

It was very hot with very little breeze and we got there early. My daughter managed to get a couple of pics when I shook hands with Mr. Obama.

We had a nice crowd. I haven't heard how many people were there yet, but it seemed like alot.

I took my daughter and one of my granddaughters who is 12. I hope she remembers this time in years to come.

I also know why she was 1 1/2 hours late getting to Huron, South Dakota. Then they got rained out, had the deal at the Crossroads. The only thing is only about 1/2 of the people got to see her. The other half ended up in a separate room with a loudspeaker. Many people ended up getting upset and leaving. There were also Obama Supporters in the crowd so she didn't have as much support as she thought she had.

I didn't go see her as I never have liked the Clintons anyway.

Great Memorial Day Picnic

In spite of the cool weather, we had a turnout of 35 people for the picnic at Prospect Park in Huron, SD. There were sloppy joes, hotdogs, macroni salad, lasagna, chips and rolls for dessert. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. A great speech was made by one of the Veterans, who is also a volunteer. After the picnic, some of the people went canvassing.

Beadle County for Obama Memorial Day BBQ

On Monday we will have a BBQ at Prospect Park in Huron, SD at 1:00 PM. You are all invited to come. We are going to have homegrown beef burgers and hotdogs. The Park is located in the SE section of Huron off Prospect Drive St.

Yesterday, my mother and I went in and got our voting done. I will be taking her to Sioux Falls on Monday, June 2, so not sure if we will be back on election day or not. It was also easier for my mother.

Our pictures were in the Huron Plainsman today with Senator Chris Dodd as he was speaking. He gave a very good message and there was also a nice write up about his message in the paper.

The Republican Senator from Nebraska, Chuck Hagel, is quickly becoming Barack Obama's answer to Joe Lieberman. Hagel repeatedly lavishing praise on the presumptive Democratic candidate and levying major foreign policy criticisms at the GOP nominee and the Republican Party as a whole. At one point, Hagel even urged the Arizona Republican to elevate his campaign discourse to a higher, more honest level.

"We know from past campaigns that presidential candidates will say many things," Hagel said of some of McCain's recent rhetoric, namely his policy on talking to Iran. "But once they have the responsibility to govern the country and lead the world, that difference between what they said and what responsibilities they have to fulfill are vastly different. I'm very upset with John with some of the things he's been saying. And I can't get into the psychoanalysis of it. But I believe that John is smarter than some of the things he is saying. He is, he understands it more. John is a man who reads a lot, he's been around the world. I want him to get above that and maybe when he gets into the general election, and becomes the general election candidate he will have a higher-level discourse on these things."

Hagel, speaking to a small gathering at the residence of the Italian ambassador, took umbrage with several positions taken by the McCain campaign, including the Arizona Senator's criticism of Obama for pledging to engage with Iran. Engagement is not, and should not be confused for, capitulation, he argued. He praised the Illinois Democrat for being open to a bipartisan cabinet. Hagel then offered a wry tweak of his GOP colleague.

"I am confident that if Obama is elected president that is the approach we will take. And my friend John McCain said some other things about that. We'll see, but in my opinion it has to be done. It is essential."

Memorial Day Weekend is our Get out and Talk or Call People in South Dakota, so they are getting volunteers lined up for that.

The Huron Obama Campaign Office is Open

Hi everyone. Here is the latest news.
The Huron, South Dakota Obama Campaign Office had their official opening tonight. They had snacks, speeches, buttons and bumper stickers. It was a small crowd but very upbeat.

Dale Hargens from the Miller area came in and spoke about why he is supporting Barack Obama. We also discussed the volunteers coming in to work the weekend before the primary here in SD. I have to find some fitted sheets for beds so they have a place to sleep, lol.

I will be doing some phone calls on that weekend also.

I gave all my recipe books away to the people that came in to opening night to volunteer and to Dale Hargens and Ron Volesky who are running for some of the state house positions from our area.

They thought they were great.

If you are coming into Huron, South Dakota to help out and need a place to stay, remember I have a bed or 2. It is out in the country and is nice and quiet at night.

Another Windy Day in South Dakota

Well, the Huron office didn't open last week as planned. When Mr. Obama came to South Dakota, our opening evidently got put on hold. I got a call today, that it is supposed to be officially open on the 21st this week.

I got 12 Recipe books bounded today. I'm going to take them to the Obama campaign office and see what they think of them. One is for Senator and Mrs. Obama. One is for me. The rest I'm donating to the campaign. Hopefully we will get some big donations in Huron that we can give them a book.

I'm ready to have my wind charger put up. Just looking for someone that wants to put them on our land. I'm sure there is room for more than one, lol.

I have my cover page for the Obama Campaign Family Cookbook made and it really looks neat. If anyone would like to see it, let me know and I will email it to you.

Yeah, on North Carolina, we can do it. I got my daughter today to change from Independent to Democrat so she can also vote in Primary for Obama. Just taking one person at a time, lol.

Hello again from South Dakota

Well my week was hectic. Got lots of stuff printed out, talked to people but didn't make it to the meeting in Sioux Falls. A week ago today, it started snowing and we lost power until Friday night at 6:00 PM. We got 6 inches of snow, which is just about all gone. Yeah.

We still have only one line coming in to give electricity and the pole is still leaning. This week I worked at my part time job with elderly people at a daycare and haven't got as much done on the campaign as I would like.

Once the cookbook gets done, I'm going to make copies and see if I can sell them to help make money for the campaign. I'm going to make paper copies for those that don't have computers and will put it on CD's for the ones that do. Once we figure out what we want the donation to be, that will be posted on the web sites so you can all order.

Once more day of work, then I will be able to donate more time for a week. It seems like just about everyone I talk to is for Obama and the South Dakotans feel that he will win against Clinton in the primaries. According to the Huron Plainsman, they feel he might have a tough time against McCain but that is because we have alot of Republicans in South Dakota. I know that Obama can do it though as we don't have many electoral votes in this state and the other states can push him though with a larger victory.

Guess what. Regular gas went up to $3.46 in Huron, SD today. Diesal is over $4.00. Please Mr. Obama get the senate investigating the high oil prices. If it keeps going up, I'm going to have to quit working as I won't be able to afford the gas to go to work.

I'M FOR OBAMA AS I KNOW HE CAN DO IT. He can bring us together as a nation in order to make things work. GO OBAMA, WE NEED CHANGE.

McCain goofed again.

Dear Iola,

John McCain is so wrong on Iraq, he can't even get the basic facts about the situation on the ground correct.

Today, as he was questioning Gen. David Petraeus, he again confused the difference between Shiite and Sunni Muslims.

At least five times as a candidate John McCain has stated that Iran (a Shiite nation) is supporting Al-Qaeda (a Sunni group) in Iraq. This is not some minor mistake, but a significant gaffe. He clearly does not understand the sensitive political dynamics in that region of the world.

What's worse is that he's done it at important times when you'd expect him to be at his best -- he did it today in the Senate while questioning the commander of American forces in Iraq, and he did it on a recent trip to the Middle East.

If John McCain can't remember such a simple fact at crucial times, how will he be able to do it as President?

We have to stop John McCain from taking control of the White House, and stop him from taking over George Bush's war in Iraq. Can you write a letter to the editor of your local paper letting voters in your area know just how confused John McCain is?

Once is misspeaking -- five times is a dangerous lack of understanding. John McCain so badly misunderstands Iraq that he's content to stay there for 100 years, something he's said multiple times. He has also failed to explain how he would pay for a war that is now costing you and me $12 billion each month -- money we could be using to help our economy here at home.

John McCain wants us to believe that his decades of foreign policy experience make him the natural choice to lead our nation at war with terrorists.

We just can't afford someone who just doesn't understand Iraq -- it's too dangerous.

On the East Coast, a woman who used to cook regularly for a big family volunteered to prepare meals each day for a thankful campaign staff of a candidate for governor.

In the Southwest, a former lumberyard owner helped a mayoral candidate solicit contributions from other businesspeople.

In a big gubernatorial campaign in the East, a disabled Marine Corps veteran spent many hours each day coordinating campaign signs that were erected throughout the state.

In every state of the country, volunteers will play a crucial role in electing not only the next president, but also thousands of state and local officials. Apart from the satisfaction of "making a difference," political work gives you an opportunity to network professionally and personally. It can also be exciting.

VOLUNTEERS IN DEMAND

Whether politicians are campaigning for the local zoning board or the presidency, they need volunteers who will pitch in and do whatever work is required. They're particularly eager to find volunteers over age 50, who...

Are respected in the community, so that voters will be impressed by the candidate they're associated with. Candidates look especially for volunteers who are members of constituencies they're courting -- veterans, seniors or ethnic groups, for example. In some areas, the ability to speak Spanish, Chinese or another language is a big plus.

Know other people who can be recruited as volunteers.

Have expertise in a field that's important to the campaign. In a local election, this might be knowledge of the town's zoning laws. In a congressional or presidential election, it could be familiarity with how the Social Security system works.

Have good judgment. Campaigns are often staffed by young people who offer more energy than experience. You'll likely be assigned fairly menial jobs, such as stuffing envelopes, when you first volunteer for a political campaign. You're also likely to be watched closely. It's not personal -- campaign managers have to be careful.

Campaign managers value volunteers who need to be given instructions only once, who are reliable and who don't complain, regardless of how boring a job is.

Then, once you prove yourself by working hard as a team player, you'll soon be in line for more challenging assignments. Most campaigns need volunteers to...

Make phone calls to voters on behalf of the party or candidate.

Canvass neighborhoods on foot to get out the vote for the candidate.

Use their cars to transport people or equipment.

Help to organize and staff events such as fund-raisers or candidate appearances.

Write letters to the editor, blog entries, etc. Candidates for Congress and the presidency usually have professionals who write basic campaign materials, but lots of other writing needs to be done, especially for the Internet.

Be part of the crowd at events. At forums and TV shows, another assigned job is to ask questions that help the candidate.

Help feed the staff, either by paying for food or cooking it.

Provide housing for the campaign staff, particularly other volunteers.

Put up posters and campaign signs, and later take them down.

YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR

To become a volunteer, phone the candidate or party you want to work for -- or even just walk in the door. You might be able to start at a higher level if you know someone in politics who can recommend you. Without a personal recommendation, the bigger the campaign, the more likely it is you'll be referred to the volunteer coordinator.

But no matter how you make initial contact, always try to talk with the highest-ranking person you can reach, such as the issues director, press director or field director. Be up front about your skills.

Beautiful Day In South Dakota

We are going to have a warm weekend so it's time to get the posters made. I'm going to get card stock tomorrow and some plastic covers to put over the paper to help keep them dry.

Last night I printed up some material for a undecided voter. He also want info from Hillary and I gave that to him also, along with some of her questionable activities that I've found on the internet. Sorry Hillary, but all is fair in Politics and I'm trying to be fair. After all the truth needs to come out. Owing health insurance bill along with other bills, taking honest people's money without a written approval, etc. Shame on you, HIllary!

Also going to pick up some postcards and get them ready to mail out. I found out that I can get a list of names at the Court House of our Democratic people in Beadle County for 1/2 cent a piece. If there is an easier way to get this listing, I'd appreciate it.

If anyone wants to get together for some kind of fund raiser, here in Beadle County, let me know.

Looking for money making suggestions also. I found out that the Democratic Party in Beadle County, South Dakota, doesn't usually hold rummage sales, so I might try and set one up for Mr. Obama.

Latest News You Should Know

A little while ago, it was reported on the tv station, that one of our Staffers was caught in one of Hillary Clinton's areas, where he shouldn't have been and was trying to get information. He refused to put his name on the sign on sheet and that raised a red flag. He did walk out with a Hillary sign. He, I think was probably new at his job.

Senator Obama has that covered as he has people that do that sort of thing. We must remember that we shouldn't do anything that could hurt Mr. Obama.

What we should do is just keep supporting Obama in the best way possible by being on our best behavior when we talk to people, giving them his good points, his issues, answering questions to the best of our ability.

If you become a staffer, learn the rules and abide by them. What the staffer above did was cause another controversy for Mr. Obama, which he does not need.

There hasn't been alot of information on this on tv and only time will tell if more comes out. Let's hope not.

I believe that Mr. Obama will become President and I will only vote for Mr. Obama. He is the leader our country needs.

Registration for Presidential Primary has to be done by May 19, 2008 in order to vote in Primary.

The South Dakota Primary is June 3, 2008.

Get your Registration forms at your local Auditor's Office.

There have been many polling places consolidated in South Dakota, so make sure you find out your location in your area.

I found out why the South Dakota Democratic Website is down

I called the Sioux Falls office today and found out that the South Dakota Democratic Website is down because of not having enough money to keep it going. I had been trying to get online for at least 2 weeks with no results.

We need to get our people together in South Dakota to help them as it costs alot to keep the site going. If you would like to help you can call them at 605-271-5405.

Projects I'm working On

Hi everyone
I downloaded the Jingo for Obama today. I'm also downloading pictures so when I plan my party, I can play the music and show pictures of Obama and his family.

I'm doing this on my laptop as it is easier to move around. I haven't got the date set yet, but as we live in South Dakota, I have a little time.

I'd like to donate more money but already did on Friday so have to wait another week until paycheck comes in. I don't make much money so bills have to be paid first before any donations are made.

The dinner donation has to be made on the dinner blog for those that don't understand it. I got an email from Mr. Obama today explaining that. I'll miss the dinner donation as I can't donate until after the 3rd again.

Make sure you pick up voter registration cards from your county auditor in case you run into someone that is not registered. You can also copy them online and print them out. These cards need to be taken back into auditor's office. There is another place in your state capitol to mail them but you have to get address in your state.

You cannot campaign while registering people according to the rules in South Dakota. I figure that is the same in all states. You can check with your auditor for the rules on this.

Carry donation papers with you in case you run into someone that would like to donate to Obama's campaign. I have all my stuff in a notebook along with copies of the issues and some of his speeches.

Hello and greetings to you all.

I donated $15.00 today on my personal obama website. I haven't started a fundraising on this site yet, because I wasn't sure if you would want to join in. If you are donating on your personal site and want to keep it that way we will, but if you are interested in joining together to see what we can do, we'll get it set up.

Is there anyone else that would like to admin this site with me? I'm always glad to have company.

So far, I've only donated $40.00 total and bought $15.00 in pins and bumper stickers, but I can't afford to do alot. We now have 12 members and seems to be growing daily which I'm glad for. If any of you have any ideas, let's hear them.

I believe that Mr. Obama is the real deal and I will do my best to support him and love hearing from others on why they support him.

For those that live out of state, Beadle County has Huron as its largest town. The South Dakota State Fair is held here every year. I live 14 miles west of Huron on a little country place. I've always been Independent in my heart, but since SD doesn't allow Independents to vote in the primary, I changed to Democrat to vote in this primary.

I know that Obama has the people's interests at heart and I feel that he will listen to us. His website issues has links where you can give your ideas and he plans on keeping that going after he is President.

SPRING IS HERE and soon the June 3 Primary will be here. If anyone on this site lives in Beadle County and can help me get something going, please contact me by stating a comment on this blog. We can then make arrangements to meet and start the plan in motion.

The ad of Casey as the little girl at 3:00 in the morning is a gread video. It would be nice to see that on tv.

We also need to get Obama's speech on A More Perfect Union out to everyone we know. It would be nice if that could be on tv more in its complete state. There are many people that have not heard it as yet. I've been listening to S-Span where people call in and they have only seen a small section of it. I printed the transcript off and plan on getting more copies made to hand out.

Now we need to start working in South Dakota and get organized. If anyone can give me contact names in Beadle County, I'd appreciate it. I have started making fliers, copies of speeches, etc. for my part.

If it is hard to talk to people you can help in your district with the small stuff, stuffing envelopes, making coffee, writing letters, helping with lunch and other little jobs. I have done some checking here in Beadle County, and it costs 1/2 cent for each Democrat name on the list. We have alot of names in Beadle County and I'm sure the other counties in South Dakota have also.

Talk to family, friends, neighbors and give the the reasons why your support Mr. Obama. Believe me, it helps to get the person on the fence to decide.

I got my buttons and bumper stickers today so now everyone will know that I support him.

I feel that he is the one to lead us as President. I try to listen to all his speeches and I watch C-Span to get them as they have good coverage.

We Need To Think Before We Speak

Policy advisors usually deal in subtlety and nuance, while candidates talk and think big picture and big ideas. Political staffers, including those working for Obama, often laugh privately and good-naturedly at the political awkwardness of people like Goolsbee; goofy comments are expected to be interpreted as the wonky discourse of a cerebral scholar. The Obama campaign will clearly have to revisit its past practice of letting policy advisors meet with whomever they wish or talk to the media without intensive preparation from the communications operation. Obama's political aides were clearly aware of the damage that had been done by these comments and suggested that they would take actions to try to make sure such problems didn't happen again.

Not every remark gets caught up the freak show atmosphere of presidential politics — even now. Barack Obama's brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, a Princeton-educated basketball coach at Brown University, was given almost a complete pass by the press and the Clinton campaign when he made personally disparaging remarks about Hillary and Bill Clinton in an interview published last week in the New Yorker.

But going forward, such forbearance will likely be the exception, not the rule. Obama famously decried Clinton's criticism that he was coasting on "just words." But if there is a lesson for Obama and his team from the Goolsbee and Power episodes, it is: watch what you say — always — because the world is now watching too.

We need to learn from this and not say or do anything that could hurt Mr. Obama. After All We Want Him To Win.

I wished that also, but here's another side. Here in South Dakota, our primaries aren't until June. I wish they were sooner, but since they aren't I want my chance to pick Mr. Obama also. I have talked to people in South Dakota, and almost everyone is for Obama.We don't have alot of delegates or electoral votes in South Dakota, but I like to think our vote counts for something. I can hardly wait until I can get down to serious work with the campign here in South Dakota. I let people know why I am backing Obama now and I tell them the differences I see between Clinton and Obama now. I think that all primaries ought to be closer. I also think they should run new primaries in Michigan and Florida, not use the ones that were done when Obama wasn't on the ticket in Michigan. He needs to be able to campaign in those states also. Get Out and Talk

Today I went to Huron and talked to different people, telling them about some of the Issues that might pertain to them that Obama is presenting. Some of these people are sitting on the fence. I found out that I need to make copies of some of the issues that they are concerned about, which we have a good selection of here on this web site.

I have also made copies of the article of "Keeping America's Promise as well as printing out fliers. They are in a notebook I'm making so I can show this to people when we are talking.

Doing Some Promoting

Today I have been making copies of fliers, contacting people by email to get the word out, getting into chatrooms and giving my ideas along with links to important pages here on Obama08.

I need to get ear phones hooked up in order to do phone calling. We all need to work together, donate whatever you can, whether it be $1.00 or more. Do you realize if 1,000 people donated 1.00 each, that would be $1,000. I got my $25.00 in yesterday, but will be giving more.

Hope everyone is having a great day, I know I am. Yesterday I ordered 2 of Senator Obama's books and today I gave my first donation for the cause.

I told Howard Dean of the Democratic Party that I will only donate to Mr. Obama directly until such time I know he is the only one running on the Democratic side, lol. Mr. Dean has been emailing me for donations ever since I registered as a Democrat. If you want Mr. Obama to get your donations, you have to send to him directly, not through his party as that money is used for whoever, whenever.

There are alot of websites out there and some aren't on the politicians. I have even received a few emails with false pictures. People may think that if they are on the internet, that they are true. They aren't I sent a message to Mr. Obama and he gave me a reply with a link to a website to check out. If you happen to get a picture that shows him just standing by a flag, the link above corrects all sayings involved with that picture.

Just be careful in getting the facts as they might not all be correct. I believe that Barack Obama is the one to be president.

A Change for all People

For years I sat on the back fence as an Independent only to find out that in order to vote in the South Dakota Primaries, I had to be either Democrat or Republican. The year I changed to Republican was when I decided my vote needed to be in the primary to try and help pick a good president. What a mistake, the mess in Washington got worse, not better.

We don't have many electoral votes in SD so I don't imagine our vote did much good, but I'm still trying. I'd still like to be an Independent and be able to vote in primaries, but since I can't, then this year I'm switching to Democrat to make sure I can vote in the primary for Barack Obama.

I don't have much money to donate, but I have some time and will help all I can. This is also the 1st time, I have ever offered to volunteer. NOW THAT IS CHANGE for me. Let's MAKE A CHANGE IN WASHINGTON, so others can have their lives changed for the better. Let's not stick with the same oh routine that has been going on for years.
