It ain't over!

Seriously, I keep hearing nay-sayers online stating that Obama should just go home. Hillary won a few "big states" (Since when did Rhode Island become big?) and that she will now just steam roll him down. Uh, I don't think so. And neither does Obama and his staff. Read David's letter on the front page if you don't believe me. It's a pure numbers game and the numbers are not on her side. While she may have gotten the most delegates from Texas, Ohio and the Megastate Rhode Island, she didn't get so many that it made a serious impact in the election. 51% to 48%? That's not a landmark win. That's a "Squeaked by." And the Texas caucus votes are still being counted and Obama does very well in caucuses. I'm more excited than I was before Tuesday. And Florida may yet again get a chance to speak openly and honestly!

Texrivaoh

Yep, today is Tex, Ri, Va, and Ohio's days to shine. And I *hope* that they shine towards Obama! I'm on absolute pins and needles.

There was recently an editorial in the Washington Post comparing Obama supporters to Beatles' fans. This is my response to that editorial:

I’ve been thinking about the parallel between Obama supporters and Beatle fans. Maybe that isn’t such a bad thing. The Beatles were young, energetic, and made a huge impact in the music industry, not just with rock and roll, but through country, jazz, classical and even Motown. They reached across the generations even and both young and old enjoyed their music. They brought together black and white using something that they had in common (love of music). Their legacy lives on well after they were no longer The Beatles. So now we have Obama who is young, energetic and has made a huge impact in politics, not just with Democrats, but with Republicans, Greens, Independents, and even those that have never voted before. He has reached across the generations and both young and old are rallying behind what he is saying. He has captured the black and the white vote (as well as the Latino and Asian vote) using something that we all have in common (a desire to see change and hope in the running of this country.) Hopefully his legacy will live on well after he has left the political arena! And you have to agree that he isn’t bad to look at either. :-) (Another thing he has in common with the Beatles).

So if he can bring about that kind of excitement that people are swooning because they are so excited, I don’t see a problem anymore. Just call me an Obama fan!

Come on Texas and Ohio!

I've been making calls all morning for Obama all across Texas. It's been fun talking to other women about Obama. I've only had one negative feedback, so I'm guessing that is good! There just seems like so much is hanging on how well Obama does tomorrow in Texas and Ohio. I hope that the other states voting tomorrow don't feel left out. Your vote is important too! I'm hoping that the CNN poll is right in that Obama is going to win easily against Senator Clinton.

If you have some time and some extra cell phone minutes (or unlimited long distance) *please* considering offering your voice to the Obama phone banks and make some calls. Most don't take much time since you tend to get people's answering machines and you can leave a quick message. It isn't hard to do. There is a script all made up for you. You can add your own personal reasons why you support Obama. Let's all work together today to make it to that 1.5 million call mark!

Woot!

It really seems like the momentum is starting to push towards Obama! I've like Obama since I first heard him speak at the DNC back in 2004. As I listened to him speak and I felt his charisma for change and progress I kept thinking, "I want to elect *him* to the presidencey instead of Kerry!" A while back he was a guest on NPR's "Wait wait don't tell me." He was personable, could joke around and have a good time, and had great snappy come backs to some ribbing by the WWDTM cast. Let's keep this momentum going!
