Calling everyone

As you know, Indiana and North Carolina primaries are Tuesday, May 6th. It is time to become active. We have the power to change minds and sway undecideds to vote Obama.

If you cannot go to either of those states, the next best weapon is "the call". I was afraid, like everyone else. In fact, my first list of numbers were either "disconnected" or an answering machine, which only added to my fear.

I finally reached a real person, but they were "not interested". Reached another person, who stated they were republican, and another "not interested". One of my final calls was to a man, a stated liberterian, who was not going to vote because he did not see anything changing, and he was a "Ron Paul" man. Well, I started on him, telling him that Ron Paul and Obama have many policies that were similiar, and that I, too respected Ron Paul. After talking for while, I think my excitement got to him, and he said, if he were votiing, Obama would get his vote. I encouraged him to not let his vote go to waste and get to the polls Tuesday. We needed him.

I gave him Obama's website address and he promised to take a look.

I came to the conclusion that there are people out there that will never vote for Obama, no matter what, however, there are those who are undecided who need the extra push, need to hear our excitement, and need to know they matter in this election!

I hope everyone picks up the phone and calls at least 20 people.

It is not that hard!

I keep reading posts from members of groups that I belong to and I finally feel that I must address the confusion, petty bickering and mass hysteria that has begun to ooze its way into the dialogue.

First of all, I joined Obama for the change and hope he offered. He made me realize that I am a part of the movement and that truely, the "change begins with ME". Those simple words carry such power, so while having anything to do with Obama, his website and any group that associates itself with his official movement, I feel an obligation to represent him and his ideals. That includes taking the high road and allowing others to disagree without disrepect.

We must remember that Obama is NOT perfect. He may have stances on issues on which we disagree, however I believe in his promise that he will LISTEN to us and consider what we have to say and will be HONEST with us on how he will proceed with any and all legislation he considers.

I chose Obama instead of Hillary at first because of her vote to authorize war with Iraq. I now know that because of the way that she and her campaign have conducted themselves, she is in it for herself. She does not want to have an involved electorate and I refuse to believe that I matter less than her. Obama feels like an equal, someone who actually listens and does not patronize.

I know there is a need to vent about issues and there are plenty of sites for that. I use them for that purpose. One of my favorites is DailyKos.com. Be sure if you post there, you know your issues. It is a brutally honest site.

So, after all this rambling, I just really wanted to say that let's not be our own worse enemies. On the blogs and emails, let's respect each other and our varied views. Let's be active when needed, but in a way that Obama would feel reflects him. We owe him that respect, don't you think?

The war and the aftermath

Wonder why it is called the AFTERMATH??? Perhaps then we can see if it all adds up? Well the war in Iraq did not.

I can remember my feelings when George Bush "delared war".

I remember crying when I saw the first casuality pictures coming from Basra, the maimed and suffering, most of all the effect on children.

I remember the anger at our "victorious" sweep from Basra to Baghdad, leaving behind death and destruction without any resources for the victims of the war.

So much for winning the hearts and minds. We had a chance to repair what we did immediately, we did not. Instead, we continued to destroy their infrastructure, not sparing even hospitals or communication outlets..

The evidence did not add up to justify the invasion.

The afterMATH I look at is:

the MILLIONS of Iraqi citizens' lives we have changed,

the almost 4000 families of those dead soldiers who have suffered

the 40000 from American fighting the war and the 30000 wounded

And the millions of Americans who are against the war.

This is exciting news, confirming the strategies of the Neo-con cult section of the Republican Party. I mean NO offense to all the real republicans who are voting for Obama and plan to cast a vote for him in the November election.

We need to spread this news WITH joy and celebration and singing in the streets. We have these racist, fearmongering, bigots on the run. They are truely afraid and their tactics are proving it.

Stay on message and spread the GOOD NEWS!!!!

We can take the high road. Be positive, uplifting, and above all have a great sense of humor. The ones who want us to lose have pulled out all their ammo and it did not work.

secret confessions..

I regularly peruse the HRC site to see the buzz there. Usually its the same old stuff...adoring fans, no controversy, etc, except...

On the blog site there is always HUBdate. It includes the newest news and info all HRC supporters need to read to stay informed. Each item is followed by a link for further reading. The top story was this...

Full Assault: “Sen. Barack Obama is trying to air his dirty laundry… as he prepares a full assault on Hillary”, without a link to more information.

What in the heck are they talking about? I even found a story in yahoo:

that reiterates the same "assault" story with no substance nor indication to what they are talking about.

All I can say is LOW LOW LOW. Creating an issue so that by tomorrow, anything Obama says is the assault they predicted.

Why does this sound like the beginning of another smear plant. They don't even try and hide their divide and conquer tactics anymore. I am so disgusted.

Last night, while reading the blogs, and realizing we had been infiltrated by many (at least 20) ANIT-Obama supporters, I thought, "Wow! We must be doing ok!"

Think about it. If they go to Hillary's site, it will just be censored. Only those whom are Hillary worshipers are allowed to post. I have tried to post there with the intent of having a dialogue with Hillary supporters with no luck. So these posters come to our site, spewing hate, bigotry and racism

We must stay strong and stay on message. the democratic party is divided, and I am sorry to say that the division is racial. The old democrats, who support Hillar,y are afraid of an AA president.

If Hillary denounces racism, she needs to denounce many of her supporters. She needs to drop out of the race and support Obama to show that race and religion should not divide us.

UGH!!!! MORE than 2 cents here....

I have had enough with putting on my nice face and can vent here..nothing but straight talk from now on and lets get real!

Why would I want a candidate that voted for a war that has done nothing but help bring down our great country?

Why would I want a candidate that then turns to the wounded veterans of that same war and have the gall to behave as if she cares?

Why would I want a candidate who only thinks some of the states and the people who live there count for her presidential bid?

Why would I want a candidate who wants to change the rules in the middle of the game so it benefits her AND then twists the truth against her opponent to say he does not care for all voters?

Why would I want a candidate who has the experience of the Washington machine?

Why would I want a candidate who seeks to win at any cost, even at the cost of dividing the country?

Why would anyone want HRC as our next president?

Frankly, I want an amateur in office. I want Barack Obama. I am not afraid of his "lack" of experience. Who needs HRC's experience? Experience at lying? Experience at talking out of the side of her mouth (well as far as I know, he's not a muslim), experience at twisting the truth, experience at cultivating fear? I do not want that. I want Barack Obama as POTUS.

Campaign Notes.....AND a Challenge

Here are a few things I have noticed about Obama Supporters vs Hillary Supporters...

Hillary's Blog (supporter)is very positive, however Hillary (the candidate) is negative towards Obama.
Obama's Blog (supporters) has more rant on the negative things Hillary says/does towards Obama, however, Obama is very respectful towards Hillary.
Hillary's site is resembling the messages that have been on Obama's website for MONTHS.

I ask myself, what does this all mean?

Here is my 2 cents....

We (supporters) of Obama are more bothered by the antics of Hillary than Obama is himself. We rush in to defend him because we never hear disparaging words from his own mouth. On the flip side, Hillary attacks enough, so her supporters do not need to say anything...

What if we were as positive and uplifting as Obama? He needs us and that energy going into the campaign for the next few weeks. I want Obama to become president, and feel that he is going to be the one in November who SWEEPS the elections. However, we DO not need to isolate the other half of the democratic party. THEY ARE US, and we need them.
