McCain Couldn't Keep Himself Safe, Then Why Do We Think He Can Keep America Safe? by Pearl Jr.September 3, 2008 It is absolutely amazing that the very person who was captured by our enemies during the Vietnam War and was fortunate enough to stay alive as a prisoner of war (POW) is now parading around as if he can keep America safe--McCain was captured by our enemies--critical fundamental military training teaches a soldier how NOT to get caught. Furthermore, the ONLY attack on the 232 year old continental American soil was during a time when the Republicans controlled Congress and America had a Republican President! And now a Republican captured soldier is being held as the very person to keep America safe; something in the milk isn't clean in that backwards thinking.

The jedi-mind trick is again alive and well in the minds of followers and sheep who cannot think for themselves to figure out that no one should put the Commander-in-Chief position with an ex-soldier who negligently lost several aircraft, finished 5th from the bottom of his naval academy, and a Republican can keep Americans safe. Why and how do we believe such an outrageous fallacy? McCain has no proof that he can keep America safe, except our enemy did NOT kill him 40 years ago.

What about praising the soldiers who were not caught, who saved lives, who destroyed our enemy's battalions? Did McCain ever win any battles or was he too busy attending parties on his father's military reputation and womanizing instead of doing his studies? John McCain was an incompetent soldier and that is why he jeopardized himself and our military.

I'm not impressed with John McCain one bit, nor do I feel safe with a Republican in the highest office in our land. The USA is falling apart and all the Republicans can do is talk down on people, encourage fear among the fearful, and cover-up all the faults and failures of the Republican Party, plus cover up the fact that McCain's POW status was due to his immaturity.

And where the heck is Osama bin Laden? Isn't he bragging that he killed 3000 Americans seven years ago and still walking around free as a bird ready to strike again?
Didn't the Republican Party go after the wrong person in Iraq, which killed 4000 additional Americans? Someone please explain what is a "win" in Iraq? Is it colonialism and/or Iraq to be our 52nd state? Didn't we take down Saddam Hussein and make his castle an American embassy a few years ago? Yes we did!

Come on people, let's see what is, is? So the next time you hear this Maverick John McCain keep America safe mind twisting manipulation, simply say, McCain couldn't even keep himself safe enough to not get caught by the enemy, how is he going to keep America safe? Americans want to do more than survive, we must THRIVE!

Let's close that fallacy down now, so we can talk about changing America for the betterment of ALL Americans!
Again, we have much work to do to shut the Republican ace in the hole up!

Below are a few points Sarah Palin neglected to mention in her RNC speech:

1 Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is "God's task." She's even admitted she hasn't thought about the war much—just last year she was quoted saying, "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq." ,

2 Palin has actively sought the support of the fringe Alaska Independence Party. Six months ago, Palin told members of the group—who advocate for a vote on secession from the union—to "keep up the good work" and "wished the party luck on what she called its 'inspiring convention.'"

3 Palin wants to teach creationism in public schools. She hasn't made clear whether she thinks evolution is a fact.

4 Palin doesn't believe that humans contribute to global warming. Speaking about climate change, she said, "I'm not one though who would attribute it to being manmade."

5 Palin has close ties to Big Oil. Her inauguration was even sponsored by BP.

6 Palin is extremely anti-choice. She doesn't even support abortion in the case of rape or incest.

7 Palin opposes comprehensive sex-ed in public schools. She's said she will only support abstinence-only approaches.

8 As mayor, Palin tried to ban books from the library. Palin asked the library how she might go about banning books because some had inappropriate language in them—shocking the librarian, Mary Ellen Baker. According to Time, "news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."

9 She DID support the Bridge to Nowhere (before she opposed it). Palin claimed that she said "thanks, but no thanks" to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But in 2006, Palin supported the project repeatedly, saying that Alaska should take advantage of earmarks "while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."

Yesterday was John McCain's 72nd birthday. If elected, he'd be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for "inexperience," here's who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people.

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.
Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.
She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.
Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.
She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.
She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.
How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

Can you believe McCain's choice for Vice President? She's 44 years old and has only been in office for 20 months, and McCain has the nerve to say that Barack is inexperienced. Choosing Sarah Palin is obviously an attempt at trying to win over the Hillary supporters. This shows how out of touch McCain really is. Hillary supporters don't support her simply because she is a woman, it's about what she stands for. Sarah Palin doesn't represent any of the things Hillary does. Who is she? What experience does she have?
