Tonight is the night we have all been waitng for. The end of the primary season and the beginning of the general election. As we watch the results come in tonight, we should see Barack win the two final contests, and come within a handful of the required delegates to win the nomination. Early tomorrow (if not tonight) he will reach the number, and it will be time to unite the party. I highly encourage everyone to reach to to the Clinton supporters. Go on her website, and say positive things about her and her campaign. Tell her supporters that it would be a shame if a Republican held the White House and we all had to face four more years of the failed Bush policies after all of the hard work Senator Clinton has done. Remind them that on the issues, there is very little difference between Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. Remind them that Senator McCain opposes any form of universal health care, wants us to remain in Iraq for up to another hundred years. Remind them that John McCain has no way of dealing wiht the housing crisis, other then bailing out the banks that caused the problem in the first place. As tough and hard fought as this primary has been, there are reason why we have all chosen to support Democrats, and it isn't because we want four more years of the status quo.

Reach out to a Hillary supporter

It is time to unite the party! Every one of us know someone who is a supporter of Hillary Clinton. Most of us know many. Now is the time to reach out to these supporters. Start talking to them about John McCain and what will happen if he is elected. Tell them we all understand their support for Hillary. If Obama hadn't run she would have been our party's nominee. But the writing is on the wall, so we must come together. We can not afford four more years of the filaed bush policies. Go to Hillary blogs, and general blgs, and say positive things about Hillary, but then say no matter what, we must defeat the Republicans and John McSame. We can change this country if we work together.

It is extremely important to keep contacting super delegates and tell them it is time to unite the party. There is no way Hillary can catch up in elected delegates, and the super delegates should not go against the will of the voters. We need to put the pressure on them now!

Next Wednesday is going to be a very important day for the Democratic party. After Obama wins Texas or Ohio (or both), it is important that the democratic party unites behind him and we can begin to focus on pointing out the huge differences with the Republicans and John McCain. If Hillary doesn't drop out (and she probably won't) we must presure the "super deligates" to follow the will of the people and bring the party together. It is important that they realize that Hillary has no chance to catch up in elected or "pledged" deligates. So tonight, tomorrow, and Tuesday, call the voters in Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island, but first thing Wednesday, start contacting your local "super deligates".
