The Pork is the Beef

The candidates should stop insulting our intelligence about troop funding.....hey......truth is no one wants our troops to be short of funds...not the Democrats and not the Republicans.....so what's the problem with raising the bucks for our troops? Well its all about the pork......that's the extra stuff that our elected officials throw in there (the bill), knowing that everyone wants a sorely needed measure to pass and hoping that everyone will just ignore the extra stuff (pork). The pork usually has to do with someone's personal or constituency's agenda and usually has little to do with the main thrust of the bill in question. So...let's make it mandatory.....whoever is elected in November has to do something about the pork to avoid the beef(s).

Conflicts of interest? We don't need no stinking conflicts of interest.

Has anyone noticed the blatant conflict of interest in Sarah, wink, Palin's incessant promotion of drilling thousands of holes in her state? If man didn't have much to do with global warming before Sarah, it sure will soon. Kinda reminds me of W's sticking with Arab Oil over the last 8 years while the rest of us were being squeezed dry by gas and heating oil prices. And don't hold your breath...the Republican's will continue to line their pockets with kick-backs from the Bin Laden clan and will never go against Arab oil.....NEVER! Do you know what Anti American means? Where's Joe McCarthy when we really need him............As the wealthy get more comfortable on the proceeds from our country's archaic energy policies the average family must learn to live on far less....I fail to see the wisdom of billions of our tax dollars going, not toward becoming less dependent of fossil fuels, but, toward a new Alasken natural gas pipeline...good idea.....the planet needs more Greenhouse effect producing energy....[Sarah] "hey...you know gas is pretty cheap if you don't factor in that billions in tax dollars and interest we're payin for that pipeline up here...and wink, double hey.......it's God's will"...............[John] "say good night to the folks Sarah".....[Sarah] "good night folks"......[John] "good night Sarah"............fade out.

On Name Calling

OK Barak Obama's middle name is Hussein which of course the Republican's are using to remind us that it was also the last name of an infamous dictator....and several million other people in the Middle East. OK....turn about is fair play.......how about John [Wilkes Booth]....how about him....he murdered a famous US President...and John [Hinckley], the guy who tried to kill your beloved President Reagan.......and crooks John [Wesley Harding] and John [Dillinger].....how about them? (all rotten Johns).................. now Please!

On Sarah Palin

I like Governor Palin (may I call her Sarah), but running this country, at this moment in history, it is sad to say, can not be affectively done by a cute, hokey, down home, good ole gal or guy as has been proven by the hole we've dug for ourselves in the last eight years........and here's why: the enemies of the US are several hundred years behind in their enlightenment of the equality of the sexes, and will only mock us for being weak. The Muslems will be emboldened by the possibility of Sarah's ascending to the Presidency. I don't dislike John McCain but the cold hard facts are that the President of the US ages dramatically in office and, I'm sorry but, John would not make it. John and Sarah would, however, make a hell of a good sitcom on Fox......maybe something like Sarah meets Maverick and drills Dallas (wink, wink).

On "winning" in Iraq

The Republican party line that the US must "win" the war in Iraq reminds me of the Vietnam War era, Gahan Wilson (Playboy Mag) cartoon of a lone soldier standing in the middle of a battlefield with unspeakable epocalyptic carnage surrounding him with every building destroyed far into the horizon. The caption is, as I recall, "I think we won".

Our pissing away 10 billion a month will never settle the issues between the Sunnis and the Shiites, but 10 billion a month would sure as heck help us at home......we need to "win" the economic war that is destroying our country very, very soon. We need to circle the wagons and re-assess the economic feasibility of our foreign policies. Something is very unsound about the decisions we have been making. Our belts can't get any tighter.....at least mine can't.

"The Surge" purge

I hate to see Barack and Joe Beiden being so heavily criticised for not supporting the sudden build-up of troops in Iraq, which has become a main thrust of the Republican election effort. Qualifying the so called "surge" of troops that Republicans claim with much bravado as a turn around in the war in Iraq is reminiscent of the National embarrassment of George W. Bush's claim of "mission accomplished"................ to Purge the Surge.............Barack needs to point that out tonight. If the "surge" has, indeed made a difference, please stop all the "show boating"....... and act on that......wishing the Iraqi's well in the future and depart.....we can no longer afford to save everyone's butt on the planet............as an economy, we are now the stump of Shel Silverstein's "Giving Tree".......HELLO!
