            <description>&lt;p&gt;From CNN&#039;s Campbell Brown:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;In this election, young voters have been the toast of the town.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;em&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;As pundits have told us, they will be turning out this year in record numbers. And if Democratic candidate Barack Obama wins, it will be the youth of this country who gave him the presidency.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Or it won&#039;t -- because early evidence suggests that young voters just might do what they always do: blow it off, stay home, space out and get a better offer.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;In Florida, where early voting has been under way for 11 days, The Orlando Sentinel has been crunching the numbers. And guess what they found: People younger than 35 are so far the worst performing demographic group among the early voters&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;It&#039;s not just Florida. Gallup&#039;s daily tracking poll shows a similar trend nationally. Based on interviews they&#039;ve conducted over the last few weeks, Gallup concluded there is scant evidence to suggest we are going to see a real game-changing youth turnout.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;So what is happening here? All those seemingly hyper-enthusiastic stars of Youtube.com videos pledging to change the world, where are you? Are you really going to own this election?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;/em&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Quite possibly, says one political scientist. Think back to your college days. You&#039;re cramming for a final, you procrastinate. But in the end, on exam day, you will show up. Or will you?&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Other politicians and would-be leaders attempt to surgically remove a superficial growth, while the deeply rooted cancer continues to grow and metastasize inside only to erupt again, and again at a different location, as a symptom with a different name. Obama looks below the surface and treats the cause. That is the only way the body can heal. That&#039;s the only way the world can heal.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>A New Yorker&#039;s view of 9/11</title>
            <description>As a New Yorker who lived through 9/11, I take very personally the continual attempts to slur the memory of those who died that horrible day by using them as fodder for a trumped up war.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Let&#039;s try a little reality check.  The city, the country and the world were united in horror and grief that day and the months and months afterwards.  At no time in my 56 years on earth had I ever seen such unity of grief and compassion and determination to change the world for the better. When the president went against the Taliban in Afghanistan, the country and the world understood and supported the retaliation against those that attacked us.  Instead of completing the task of economincally empowering a fledgling democratic government there and rounding up every last element of BinLaden&#039;s maniacal faction, this president chose to turn his sights to a country who had nothing to do with attacking us, had never supported those who did, and were in absolutely no position to be of any threat to us whatsoever. The day he did, that new world of unity and compassion and common good, the legacy that could have been a lasting tribute to  9/11&#039;s victims, came crashing down on their memory as surely as the towers did. For that alone, this administration deserves a prominent spot in hell. Those who gave him the authority, and who continue to tie 9/11 to this war based on lies, corruption and arrogance, deserve to stand in line behind them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Everyone who despicably conjurs up 9/11 when speaking of this war spits on the memories of all who died that day.  &lt;br /&gt;
