Note to Senator Obama: Space Solar Power is the solution to our energy problems

This is an urgent message for the next president (Barack Obama) from the National Space Society:

We can use a Space Solar Power initiative to show that Senator Obama is a visionary while John McCain is just 4 more years of broken promises.

"When it comes to energy, it's time to drill up, not down." I agree we should "drill baby drill!" but not in the way McCain clumsily proposes.

I am currently in graduate school to become an aerospace engineer because space is how we will create jobs, maintain our technological edge, and clean up the environment. It is the future.

Why I support Barack Obama

I am an independent voter who gags at the thought of political parties, conventions and other such nonsense, but I am supporting Barack Obama for several very important reasons:

I believe our military needs to focus on finding Osama bin Laden and stopping terrorism rather than wasting precious time, lives, and resources in Iraq. Our top-notch military deserves a top-notch commander-in-chief!

I believe Obama has a great energy policy that involves more than just favors for the oil industry. I believe we need to develop alternative energy in order to cut off the flow of oil money to our enemies in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Iran. This issue is vital to our country's very survival and the republicans have neglected it for too long.

I believe McCain is running for George W Bush's 3rd term.

Finally, I believe Obama can unite the country the way no ordinary politician can!
