The WH Party intruders -- where was the Social Secretary?

Even though the secret service have apologized so profusely, repeatedly stating how embarrassed they were regarding the security breach, I still feel that they were the least to blame. Every person in their right mind should be asking where the heck the Social Secretary was; I mean who makes up the guest list? And even if the guest list was not drawn from the social secretary’s office, at least they must have had a copy with them on this auspicious occasion! What is the proper role of the Social Secretary’s Office? He/ She/ the office were asleep on the job, and in my view they don’t deserve to be there! An eighth grader would have done a better job than these lazy bums who just earn salaries for doing completely nothing. From what I’ve observed elsewhere, this so called social secretary person is supposed to have a complete guest list and their corresponding badges in place – when a name is called, there should be someone dishing out the badge… this was the first WH state dinner – how could they be so clumsy? Everybody in this office should resign or at last go back and get some training on the proper event protocol.

Afghanistan... our Malady

If it were up to me, I would have pulled our troops fom Afghanistan yesterday. If it's true that President Karzai has gone mental us, then it makes no sense to commit a huge number of our troops there. Media rumours has it that Karzai is mad like King George III (1700s). If I were you, God bless your soul, I would give Karzai an ultimutum - he should have known better before rigging elections. How long do you think the Europeans will stay on? perhaps another two years? I think we should stop treating Afghanistan with kid gloves and let their military, or whatever security apparatus they have start taking over. Afghanistan is a like a child that never weans, stays on to his mother's breastmilk forever. I think we already have enough troops there, perhaps you should move a few, in conjuction with the Europeans to the borders of Pakistan and Iran, let the local troops take care of Kabul and other major centers. Help train their police force and if Karzai cannot maintain that, then leave him with his corrupt country alone. It seems as if all we are do there is provide "bodyguard services" to Karzai and his cronies! and they are enjoying that luxary - one that we cannot afford now. If they cannot face their own own people then too bad - everyone should bear their own burden. Just don't give give him a blank check like we gave to the Iraqis, but for heaven's sake, our troops are exhausted. Give Karzai two years max (Nov 2011)- Give him a timeframe that he has to man up and face his people. We need you here more than there. The way I see it, if you add more troops many people here will not be happy, and if you don't add more troops then only the extreme groups here mainly "conservatives" wil be mad at you. Good luck!

Of the Stupak Amendment.... A subjection of Women?

I had no idea it was 1973 all over again!

Has it not been passed into US law that a woman has the right to choose? When Mills lamented in 1869 about the subjection of women, little did I think that to-date society would still act in the same way. It gives me great pain to see that our men are actually taking us back to 1800s. What is the difference with the laws then and now? Did women not win rightfully, and did US Congress not recognize a woman’s right to choose after it came down from the highest court in the land? And why are we debating abortion in the first place? What a shame! That a Democratically controlled Congress should even consider putting into law, the legal subjection of women in this 21st century. What the House did on Saturday, and what I now hear that some members of the Senate are proposing against women’s heath is appalling, if not downright abomination! They wish to put into law that which will put women down, will women 10 steps back, and that which Mills called “… a legal subjection of women…” with total disregard of women’s input as if we don’t even exist! I hear these Senators and Representatives say that women will have to purchase a separate healthcare insurance for abortion! This is ridiculous! And as Mills lamented then, and I second him today, the act of legally stopping a woman from choosing for herself is a major hindrance to human development and progress. By allowing this so called Stupak Amendment, the society will have admitted to some unmentioned laws… ‘That some animals are more equal than others, admitting power and privilege on the one side’, and subjecting the other side to disability and incapacity. This is plainly wrong. Needless to mention, that the same women that you now trample on, are the same ones that brought you to power and prominence. How could you allow the Republican Party to manipulate your brains? Can’t you just be normal representatives who act consciously and for once putting your constituents first before politics?

I hear that in Congress it’s about arm-twisting and deal-cutting, but in my view, some deals are better left uncut. You my dear men, are not going to cut deals at the expense of women’s health. This is a battle that I am afraid you are going to lose. What was the Hyde Amendment all about then? Why is it that every time somebody has to loose in this society it has to be a woman? Do we not live in a democracy? Are both sees not entitled to the same human rights? Health rights?

I say, Go for it Barack! For those Americans who do not want their children to hear the President's address - should turn off their tvs at the time of the address. For the rest of us - the address goes on. How petty have the conservatives become? Is this the same America I longed for just a few years ago? What is so wrong with our President giving a little stratight talk to our upcoming/ future leaders? I am so disappointed at the right-wing of the Republican Party. Where are the Republican Congressional leaders anyway? Why are they leeting a few angry people take their Party under siege? I am equally disappointed at the "so-called bluedog Democrats" What is the point of calling them Democrats if they cant even defend the Party's principles? Did we campaign for them for nothing? I would them to know that we too are Americans, even though we don't go out and yell in townhalls.

I was very pleased at the way Sen. Warner (VA) handled a few rude people at his healthcare town hall yesterday. It was very clear that these "townhall crazies" choose not to follow the truth about healthcare - that they choose to follow the lies told by those right-wing extremists who have hijacked the Republican Party. It's people like these that indoctrinate the minds of young people with hate! Why are they so full of hate? Elections have consequences, and this time the Republicans lost - accepting this is the essence of our democracy.

So Mr. President, go ahead with your planned education talk - do not blink/ burge! For single parents like me and many others are counting on American leaders like you to be role models and the guiding light to our youngstars! We have your back Sir.

Barack, you are a wonderful debater. Be decisive in your answers. Leave the professor at home. Stop McCain, he has a tendency to drag on and on for no apparent reason. Tie McCain to this crisis that we have now. Remind McCain to stop playing politics with our lives, and tell him to stop flip-flopping, yes, u can still use that phrase, although I don't like it. Whatever it is, don't let McCain dominate the FP stuff, I think ur better qualified to debate him on FP issues, be confident and decisive in your answers. Dont allow McCain any room to claim that he is the one with solutions, and u r the talker. This must not happen. McCain is annoyingly repetitive, I think it's becoz he's old (that's just my opinion). Even though the debate will be on FP, find a way to feel our pain now, tie it to the current crisis (just imagine what we could be doing back here with $10 billion/ month!).

Now, I have always called myself an eternal optimist. However, for the first time today, I panicked, having woken up to the news headlines of the economy taking its worst turn ever in my life. I though about the rest of the world, what happens to them if America gets gloomy all of a sudden? Since when did we cease to be the last best hope on earth? and suddenly, I hated to lose this status.

Like sombody once said, "We are at a crossroads, one path leads to to despair and utter hopelessness, the other to total extinction. Let us pray that we have the courage to choose wisely!

This is why we can't let McCain, who has no idea of the economy, to take charge of our country at this moment in time. Remember, "McCain has NO IDEA, OUT of TOUCH with the economy."

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

If somebody told me just a few years ago that this day would come... I would have responded, "Dream on, Pal!" Never in my wildest dreams, did I see a black man and a white man, standing shoulder to shoulder ready to take on the leadership of the free world. It's a momentous occassion, it's a feeling I cannot describe. Obama and Biden in the White House reminds me of another era that I wish I lived in - It was Jefferson's and Adam's, our forefathers. You see, I can imagine these two (Obama/Biden) sitting around a table until the wee hours of the morning, discussing over coffee/ tea, the future of America, the safety of America, the best that America has to offer its citizens and the rest of the world. I can see them engaged in a heated, but friendly and mutual debate, like real philosophers! I can see them agreeing to disagree - and I can see young people glued around corners, listening keenly and absorbing every word, I can see them leaving the debate room with smiley faces, and calling their friends all over the world, bragging about American beauty! and of course among them will be my son! You are your mother's son, and like Biden would say, you have a steel backbone. To me, you are a big brother, and big brothers never want to disappoint the rest of the siblings.

I can see all the single mothers out there looking with pride and joy and blessing America over and over again! But you are also the son of my ancestors and the son of my fathers. You are a born fighter! We have your back, don't let anyone scare you, not even John McCain. Trust in the Lord, always. Your forefathers will be blessing you from beyond! Together with Joe Biden, your love for America will shape this country and shape the world. So, Go get one for us all!

I hope this letter finds you in good moods as we await the formal nomination of our Party's candidate. I understand that some of you guys would want to suport McCain in the general election; I would strongly urge you not to. People, look at it this way: We are first, Democrats. We are not Clinton Democrats or Obama Democrats - We are simply Democrats.

Together, we must, and we will fight for the heart of America. Republicans have no monopoly in any constituency in America. We have the same values in America, and as Democrats, we adhere to certain unparalleled principles too. Therefore, it grieves me greatly when some of you say they will sacrifice Dmocratic principles and vote for McCain. Please, don't let your emotions take the better control of yourselves, don't be consumed in anger. Can't you see? the Right-wing extremists are using your emotions to control you, the right-wing, hating bastards are using your enthusiam for Hillary to divide our Party - don't give in to whims of the extremists.

Do you remember how McCain laughed out loud when a woman in his rally called Hillary a "bitch?" McCain doesn't respect women, not even Hillary! and yet he is using you guys now for his own selfish ambitions. Please open your eyes to these deceitful ways of McCain. Do you recall when McCain, in the 1990s, called Chelsea Clinton, "UGLY because..." What kind of man does this to a woman.

McCain doesn't respect the Clinton women, why should you Clinton supporters give him an audience?

McCain doesn't believe in equal pay for men and women, why should you guys follow him?

McCain doesn't believe that women have enough sense to make their own decisions regarding their reproductive health, why should you guys allow him any room?

Hillary Clinton believes in all of these things, and so does Barack Obama. Please, forget about the primaries, it's time to fight for the heart of the United States of America. Vote for Barack, he has your values at heart, and he respects you more than you know.

McCain shames my conscious!

Can somebody please send this note to Camp McCain. McCain shames my conscious, I mean it. He disappoints me greatly. I am embarrased that McCain, a man my grandfather's age would willingly chose to utter these uncouth words against Obama. How could he do this? Surely, has American old papa really lost his moral campus? Surely, Sen. McCain, do you really believe that your opponent is not patriotic as you report? Have you no shame left, Sir? My grandfather is turning in his grave right now!

Sen. McCain, are you not man enough to take charge of your campaign?

Please Sen. McCain, STOP this shameless, repeated accusation against your opponent. Can't you be civil, even for a day? I truly believe that Sen. Obama is as patriotic as you are, Sir. You must cease and desist at once on your nefarious ridicules against Obama. Just becoz you're older than him doesn't mean that you're wiser than him.

Sen. McCain, if you have any nerves left, then debate Sen. Obama on policy/ issues as opposed to character assasination that you are now engaged. Be a real man, Senator, and try to be a gentleman as well.

Is anybody paying attention? How long are we going to tolerate this Lieberman nonsense? Is this the true man, or he's still in disguise? No wonder he couldn't deliver eight years ago. If he had any influence, Joe should have delivered to the Democrats! Why is Lieberman now negatively attacking Obama, for McCain? Some things are better left untold, but Lieberman doesn't have the shame! What a shame Joe! Lieberman actually delivered those nasty and questionable words against Barack yesterday! This is unacceptable!

And by the way, what are you guys doing sitting there while McCain is going all NEGATIVE? I've worked so hard for Barack, and I won't accept anything else! McCain has broken his word of running a clean campaign... why should we standby and let him have his cake while eating it? I say, we go all out. If McCain's word is his honor, then he has lost that honor in my view. People, we're not going to lose this one becoz of Lieberman and McCain - two Senators who cannot be gentlemen enough to honor their words and run clean!

Who in their right mind thinks that making jokes about women being raped is funny? No. Not funny at all! McCain made this joke in 1986 - he was old enough to know that RAPE against any woman/ girl is NOT a joke. And what is so funny about making crude comments about Chelsea Clinton when the girl was only 18!

McCain clearly has a problem with women, he should be vetted on this! How long are we going to stand here and watch this man berate us like this? He even refered to his own wife as a "C&*nt! How nasty is this man? He is the most arrogant person I've seen in a long time. This negative attitude by McCain against women is UNACCEPTABLE!

Given that McCain has consistently voted against any bills for women i.e. equal pay, choice, etc. We cannot let this go free. This is a disturbing pattern!

You know, some things are better left untold. If the New Yorker wanted to shade light on the "politics of fear" as they they now argue, this cover certainly wasn't the way to go about it. All The New Yorker did was add salt to injury - this magazine will be transported nationally and throughout the world - and I guess they will have accomplished their mission.

Whatever happened t the media? I always thought the New Yorker had "common sense!" I thought they were better than this. What bloody bastards! Who payed them this time? I have never thought the media, especially "The New Yorker" was capable of such MALICE! Certainly, I never thought the New Yorker was capable of such prejudice! Shame on you, bastards!

What prompted The New Yorker to do this? I have one theory. The New Yorker wants to stop the debate on the state of American economy. They also want to badly stop the debate on state of Amercan security, by muzzling Americans and preventing us from talking about the injustices of the Iraq war. I bet you, The New Yorker would NEVER pull such prejudice on McCain! They will never. So why did they do it on Obama? What I can't understand is what did Michelle Obama ever do to anyone to warrant such cruelty and hate?? You bastards!

I am really struggling to understand all of you people with this FISA thing. Sen. Obama will vote for FISA because it is not the same bill that was tabled before. McCain ads are hopeless. All he's talking about is his biography of 50 years ago! OMG! This means that he doesn't have any issues to brag about - that's where we can get him! I think we should make another ad saying exactly that - "McCain doesn't have anything to run on because he is heart & soul with GWB on practically every issue that matters to America and the world (economy, taxes, healthcare, education, energy)." I mean, why would he keep on repeating the same thing ad after ad? He is not spelling out what or how he might help us, instead, he's talking about himself and invoking scenes and times when many of us were not born yet.

Trust him, you have trusted him before, he is thinking of all Americans, and not just liberals. He is genuine and sincere, and he will deliver on his promise. Please, give him a chance to work this out.

Wes Clark is here to stay

I think Wes Clark is a noble man and a great American and he is going nowhere. McCain should get rid of Charlie Black and the other "swiftboaters" before he can demand for othr people to go.

I don't think John McCain has any grounds to tell our campaign what to do. I think Wes was speaking as an individual American citizen, giving his true observations. And I actually agree that both McCain and Obama should be scrutized equally on what they give as a bckground of their qualifications. This is a free country and we cannot muzzle up people trying to speak their minds.

McCain is in no position to tell us to "cut lose" Wes. when he just yesterday hired the guy who "swiftboated" John Kerry! McCain should look at his morals first, before pointing fingers at others.

So, It's a done deal with Iran and McCain supports the White House!

My Dear Senator,

Please don't listen to the NYT and the likes of Pat Buchanan. In my view, you do not have to go to a Mosque to prove your integrity with Muslims. Muslim American already know this game that NYT and the Republicans are playing on you. The NYT will be the first to plaster your image in a mosque to the world, not for genuine reasons, but for reasons to drive a knife between you and the rest of Americans. Don't give them a reason to do that. Why aren't they (NYT) asking John McCain to appear inside a mosque? This I think has become a racial profiling of American muslims. The way I see it, this is another opportunity for you to address the religious divide in this country, with another rivetting speech. I mean, think of it, why is Dobson coming at you? I think it's becoz he has seen something happening with the faith-based groups and that they are leaning your way. However, if you have to appear with Muslims, please have the meeting in a public square, first, let that register. Invite Muslim leaders in America to a public square and all Muslim Americans interested in the unity of all Americans should come to that meeting.

I think the NYT and RNC and working together to destry you. Remember the op-eds they wrote on that public financing BS!? It was an uncalled for attack. Where is the NYT now when McCain openly connects "off-shore drilling" to brainwashing Americans, calling it a phychological advantage. Are we that cheap, or does McCain think that Americans are so desperate they'll take anything? We are not going to be scared this time. McCain is using fear mongering again to brainwash America into another blunderous administration. Surely, how can McCain and his friends think the worst has to happen to prove America's prowess? How could they bring in Bhuto's death, or another terrorist attack into this campaign? We can't afford another terrorist attack on our families - the McCain campaign has lost it - we simply don't want another emotional strain like we had six seven years ago.

Don't let them play you. Don't give them a chance to play politics with our lives and fears. Oh, by the way, I like your interpretation of the Bible, stick to it. I think you have the judgment and strength to lead this nation to greater heights. Trust yourself, and those around you, they are doing a great job! as for the rest of us - we'll be praying really, really hard for you.

No More Useless Debates with Clinton!

I am not going to watch any more stupid debates with Sen. Hillary Clinton! She is such an embarassment on my conscious. She is looking for another opening in these artificial debates to make up a story and hope that you will be on the defensive and it will end up taking your time from issues that you need to address in NC and Indiana. DO NOT dignify Clinton with any more stupid debates.

Sen. Obama, you have two weeks to carry IN and NC, go in there and talk to them about bread and butter issues. Talk to them about the state of our economy, how the war in Iraq is contributing to our economic downturn, talk about creating new sustainable jobs, talk about the future not the past. You will be wasting your time trying to respond to Sen. Clinton, who by this time is, I honestly believe, working with the RNC to bring you down. Just today, Sen. Clinton, Gov. Rendell and many of her supporters joined together in praise of FOX news and Hanity. For what? attacking a fellow Democrat? How is this even conceivable? I also heard Clinton supporters i.e. the Sen. from Indiana and even Clinton herself, now telling uncommitted delegates to endorse according to their "districts"! Jesus Christ! Is this the same Clinton who asked the delegates to vote/endorse their "conscious?" What has changed? Why is Clinton and her supporters treating us as if we are so stupid, as if we dont know what we are doing?

Is Clinton telling us that her campaign will also punish with insults, those remaining superdelegates should they break their allegiance to her or to their districts, the way Gov. Richardson was punished with insults?

All I know is that you, Sen. Obama is in the lead in every way, pledged delegates, raw vote, number of states won, and also in national polls. I am so ready for Denver. Just remember Sen. Obama, we will always have your back! If she wants to go to Denver, well, we will meet there too.

So we came close in PA, what next? frankly, I was getting frustrated with the nature of Clinton campaign in PA, it had become very dirty and disheartening. I am glad that phase is gone and she can nolonger hang it over our heads! This notion of "old people" and some "important" states voting for her, phew! close the chapter. Now we have the rest of the country who will vote for us fin or the remaining 9 states, as we believe that all the 50 states are equally important.

Now look at the way the Clinton machine wants to change the game and the rules that have guided the Dem-Party for decades! Now they are making the case that delegate count is not the most important thing in electing our nominee, but rather it is the popular vote. What? Hell will break loose in Denver if the DNC breaks its own rules and coronates Hillary. They are claiming Fla. ok. we will seat the Fla. delegation in Denver, BUT on an equal basis i.e. 50/50 between Obama & Clinton - that will be the fairest thing to do. We will also seat Michigan on an equal basis. Then we can go ahead and follow the rules for nominating our candidate.

For what it's worth, I will never vote for Hillary Clinton if she is the nominee, and I will make sure that everybody I know doesn't vote for her. If I have to, I will write in the name of the righful nominee in November - I'd rather waste that vote, than give it to Hillary. We have lived with politics of fear because some people were not truthful in the first place, and now they want to put Clinton back in there? Clinton who is an openly admitted liar! She blatantly lied with straight eyes, looking into the cameras about her "96 Bosnia trip" and "sniper fire" What happened to INTEGRITY in our leaders? Doesn't that count anymore? No more Clintons in the White House.

I have always known that change will not be easy. You have told us that before. You know what? There is an African saying that goes like this: "it always gets darker just before dawn." You are our light and we are awaiting that dawn with you. These are hard times, the economy has gone down the drains, our families cannot afford to take care of everybody they love, gas prices are sky-rocketting, and needless to mention, the war in Iraq has taken a toll on our military forces and their families, the war has consumed our youth! the war has drained our economy, and the war has broken our families here at home. So I perfectly understand what you meant when you made those comments. You were right on! My friends and I are extremely frustrated, angry, and very, very discouraged at the way things have turned out. I am particularly disappointed at how Mrs. Clinton has twisted these words, as if to say that Americans are feeling just great in these hard times. In reality, we are not, we want something better from our government and from our elected officials. So, Barack, we are banking on you, we are counting on you to help us come of of this recession, we are certain that you will work with us to bring back sustainable jobs in our community.

Do not worry, we are with you all the way. You are a good man Senator because you bring out the best in us. You are the epitome of American beauty, resillience and prosperity. Go forward with confidence, and the grace of God will see you through! God bless you Senator, and God bless all of us.

Dear Sen. Obama,

I think Samantha Power is a dignified and distinguished lady. I can feel and identify with her frustration with Hillary, when Hillary keeps hipping all these unfounded lies about you and then she cries foul. Whatever it is that Samantha said, I still believe that she is an incredible human being.

You know, sometimes people fall and sometimes they stay up. This is your time to remember that you are doing this for the country as you have always done - you are doing this for America - your country comes first. Stay above the fray. Don't let Hillary's distractions bring you down. We have come this far, we can't possibly give up. You will win this nomination by not being like Hillary. Stay your ground, BUT point out your differences very sharply and as soon as Hillary attacks, respond in kind, and God Almighty will reward you handsomely.

We must never be afraid of Hillary's attack machine - we have been waiting for it for over a year now. We have seen it and now we know how to respond - don't stoop low to her level of attacks. Be the gentleman that I know - God will deliver PA to you. Beware of the media too, they are now dancing to Hillay's drumbeats. Stay on message - in PA keep questioning the wisdom about the war in Iraq. Keep encouraging us and reminding us that we are one people with a common purpose! That is why I joined this movement - because you bring a sense of community and togetherness , hope and a belief that in America, anyone can achieve anything - that is a sense of posibility which for someone like me who grew up in Africa, only wishes I'd had about from childhood. But you have brought back fun into our political life. We can sit around dinner tables with our parents and actually talk about politics. You should see the light in my mother's face or the pride in my dad's eyes at the mention of your name!.

Senator, you are a good man. You bring out the best in all of us! Just keep doing that and I trust in Jesus name that America is with you. Just remember, you must always walk with your head up and shoulders straight.

He is a born fighter!

Let me tell you a little story…

My grandmother (Martha) and Sarah had been friends for a long time. They met at least once week in an open marketplace at Nyang’oma - my grannie was a fishmonger and Sarah sold the best tasting mandazis I ever had! I think she always added just a little extra sugar - that was enticing to a kid my age! I think I was one of her best customers. So I accompanied my grandma every market day so I could ravage Sarah’s deep frying! Well, to-date, my father’s home is just a few blocs away from Sarah’s home, and I miss her mandazis!

Let’s get to the point, I am so proud of Sen. Obama, I am so proud at what he has accomplished in American politics - because, you see, it’s not just American politics - my people back home already think he is a winner! In fact the last time I was home my 100+ years old grandfather wanted to know how “the son of Alego” (Sen. Obama) is fairing? I assured him that he is just fine - but my grandpa insisted that we should close our eyes and pray for the young senator, and praying we did. So, my grandpa said, “Obama is a fighter, it’s in his blood, it’s in all of us.” He is going to be a great leader, he concluded Well, that was summer of 2006 and Obama was still a senator. So I promised myself that if ever he ran for the presidency, I would follow and support him to the end. I trusted every word that came from grandpa’s mouth. So I really get amused when people say, “Obama is not a fighter” What? Look at this guy after he lost NH, I looked into his eyes and what I saw was amazing! It was fire - for me it was survival. Had I let him down? I asked quietly. So, my friends and I decided that SC was our firewall, we had to bring him back, we had to give him the momentum, and from then on, there was no stopping him! That week after NH I wrote him, encouraging him to hang in there. Let’s just say that we were not about to let him give up even if he wanted to. Our group decided that we were willing to press, urge him to go on until the Convention in August. I think he knew that too - he wasn’t about to disappoint millions of Americans, not to forget my people down in Alego! And what stories would I tell to the rest of my siblings - that he simply gave up - No. We Are Born Fighters! And it would be naïve to assume that Sarah’s grandson is not a fighter. Sen. Obama is a tactical, strategic, and principled fighter. I said this in the beginning of this race - “no one can fault with his national strategy” he has traversed the country looking for votes and introducing himself to America and the world at the same time, and how did he do that? He made us believe that we were doing it, that we owned it, and that we had a stake in it! What a feeling! God bless Barack!

Oh, by the way, if you add an “a” at the end of Barack, to make it “Baraka” as some people famously call him, it means “blessings” in Swahili. This guy is double blessings!

My mother always said, "every time you fall down, get up immediately, never stay fallen, and if it's taking you just a little bit, millions of people will rush to your side, especially, if you are a good person." Senator, you are a good man, and according to my mother, millions of Americas will rush by your side and walk with you. I know how easy it is for people to beat a man when he is down, Bill Clinton of all the people should know this, however, he continues distort your record everyday, don't allow the Clintons this pleasure. Make things clear to them, even if you have to write him a personal letter, please do that.

You are fighting the good fight - I don't understand this Clinton argument that you voted for more money to help the troops in Iraq after initially opposing the war. This is ridiculous to me, the way I see it, you had to ensure that those men and women in Iraq had the best gear out there in the desert. Your initial opposition to the war was the best judgment ever, and that does not make you guilty of supporting it by supporting our troops' welfare.

Next time Clinton brings this up in say a debate - you must rebuke her sharply and tell her that those American lives in the desert matter more to you, and that is why you voted to give them more money so that they can be safe and return home sooner. This war has gone on longer than WWII, and Americans are dying every single day - I don't care even if it is only one death - that is still a huge loss.

Good deeds are rewarded daily and I wish you all the best in Nevada and South Carolina.

As the Iowa caucus draws near, I would like to ask for God's blessing upon you and your family and wish you a prosperous new year! Thank you for standing up against special interests and sometimes even going against the grain to fight for common people like me. I have trust in you - that you will never give up the fight including and beyond Iowa. I realize this whole campaign thing is taking a toll on Michelle and the kids. We (citizens) are asking so much of you, but it is because we believe that you are the best person out there who can give us back just as much. Stay strong and move on to New Hampshire and South Carolina with head forward and shoulders straight. You can take anything, don't ever forget that. We want you to fight for this to the end. We are counting on you to go upto and until the last primary is concluded. As for me, I will join others in SC to knock on doors for you, and if I have not told you before, then here it is - You are going to win SC.

I wish I was a fly so that I could travel to all these early states in a matter of seconds to volunteer for you. I believe there are several happy volunteers like me out in the early states. Sen. you bring out the best in people and you make us believe that America has not lost its leadership place in the world. With you at the helm, we can turn the world in our favor again using the art of conversation.

Age is respected but Good Judgment revered

In a time of joyful celebrations and festivities such as now, let us look forward to a bright tomorrow, with hopeful possibilities and a belief in a better America. Under the stewardship of a youthful leader whose ideas and views cut across all generations, let us leap forward with dance and music in our hearts with Obama’s Presidency. The consequences of a long and treacherous war in Iraq filled our homes with gloom and sadness and our country was faced with uncertainty and hopelessness never seen before. Therefore, as Iraq stabilizes I believe it is time for responsible withdrawal as Sen. Obama says. What does this mean to America? Allow me to borrow from Reagan’s theme: It is morning again in America!

Every once in a while a wave of change sweeps through societies – change that the future might bring about a better life, change that might alter a belief that some of us are destined to our circumstances and some are not, I get hopeful. When I think of human destiny, I see the displaced people of New Orleans, the lost of Darfur, and the ghost town of Mogadishu, I get frustrated. But then I look at Obama and I see a glimmer of hope, when with a deep and rich baritone he declares, “Let us go out there and change the world!” He speaks for me and all the vulnerable people in the US and around the world. Out of this gloom and sadness, Obama arose with a message of hope and unity for America. With pomp and youthful agility, Obama gives us back the American romance. He puts a smile in our hearts and lets us hope again. His youthful zeal makes men and women across generations reminisce about their youth. As the African proverb goes, “When the moon is shining, the cripple becomes hungry for a walk.” Barack makes everybody leap with joy and hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Barack has brought back the fun in politics. He competes tirelessly and provokes gently, and when they insult him with cold negativity, the warmth in his heart melts it away easily. Politics is supposed to be fun, not slimy and dirty. Barack’s stoicism separates him from his opponents. His judgment points to an inner intuition that lacks in his major rivals. Yes, he is young. But how old was Alexander the Great when he conquered the known world? Obama is not going to govern alone. He will have great people surrounding him and helping him to ride America to the heights unknown.

So Sen. Obama please,

Make us laugh again

Make us young again and put a smile in our hearts

Make us hope again and again

The Clintons smothering Obama in his crib – somebody help!

As they say, desperate times calls for desperate measures. Last time I checked, kids don’t send application letters to belong to certain kinds of families, yet this seems to be the basis of attack on Barack by the Clintons.

At the age of just five, a young American boy who happens to love his mother so much does not have a choice when the family decides to pack up and move to a foreign land. This was the case of the junior Senator from Illinois. I am sure that if Barack’s mother were alive today she would vehemently defend her son for following her to Indonesia. Look at it: the boy’s father left them when he was only two years old! The only person he could count on was his mother! I know this, because I am a single parent. My son’s father died when his son was only seven years old. I am the only one my son has to look up to. So when I decided to emigrate to America from my native land, my son had no choice but to follow me, he had to come with mama, the only relative he knew. I am sick and tired of the Clintons trying to choke life out of this aspiring brilliant young man. These negative attacks such as Obama’s essay as a kindergarten kid, his indiscretions as a teenager – goodness! A teenager? How many teenagers do we know in America without mistakes? Does Hillary think that we will seriously believe that she is not behind these poisonous pills?

The people of Iowa and New Hampshire will surely see through Hillary’s mischievousness and dirty tricks on her opponents. Now she is attacking Barack with an ad and making it seem like it is coming from John Edwards. What is wrong with Hillary? One word – Desperation.

I strongly believe that America is beyond this kind of vilification that is coming from the Clintons. The Clintons speak as if this marriage and re-marriage is a new phenomenon in America. They speak as if it is a sacrilege that Barack lived in Indonesia; since when did the Democratic Party become the religion party? I have always been under the impression that the ‘Democrats’ believe in the separation of Church and State.

Well, this is the last straw on the camel’s back – I am voting for Barack Obama for President.

A call to sacrifice

I mean why would you want to miss out on history? You are the backborne of this campaign - MAKE THIS SACRIFICE. Go back to Iowa to vote for Obama, go back even if it's one week before school opens. This is our time to shape this country that we so dearly love. Obama is that leader that will help steer us through the 21st century and beyond.

What is a week compared to a lifetime of goodness/ greatness/ history? Make it happen - prove everybody wrong, all those who expect you not to show up to vote on that cold day. SACRIFICE so that Obama can give us back our country, a country that we believe in again.

SACRIFICE your one week holiday for your generation!

Why Senator Obama is the best choice for the Presidency of the United States of America

Picture this: It is 2009, a tall towering figure amidst a certain group of men and women, other world leaders of course, at a G8 meeting in some European country, articulating America's return to the world scene! Look at all their faces looking up at him, eager to hear him and learn the secret behind his charm and intelligence, with satisfaction I will say, "Yes, that is my President and leader of the free world."

I am a recent immigrant in this country; in fact, I became naturalized in July 2007. I had waited for this day to come, especially after learning of the junior Senator from Illinois intention to run for the office of the President of the United States – I could not find a voter’s registration fast enough! The thought that I now had the power to vote for whomever I pleased, tickled me to bits. I had heard him speak repeatedly on radio, television screens, and rallies. His speeches inspired me, not because he was the Senator from Illinois, for what its worth, I have Senator Robert Byrd speaking for me everyday; not even the fact that we shared a past, a past that he may not be aware; I come from his paternal ancestral land – Alego, in the little village of Nyang’oma. What intrigued me about him was something much deeper, something that I only recently came across when my political science professor, Dr. Perry, urged me to look at Abe Lincoln’s past. That something, I found out, was a deep passion and commitment to country.

He is simply a gentleman. He does not have it in him to spew negative attacks on his opponents, not because he cannot do it but because that is the person in him, and for that I respect him. Senator Obama has one central vision – to unite the country using our common values. I have found myself comparing Obama’s to Lincoln’s persistent yet persuasive manner in which he brought the north and the stubborn south together in order to form “a more perfect union.” For whatever shortcomings of inexperience opponents might find in his strategic priorities, it is hard to find fault in his national strategy – to unite America, blue and red and whatever other category is out there, into one America sprinting toward a common public good. In addition, of all the Democratic candidates, and might I add, the Republican candidates, Senator Obama is the only one comfortable with the faith-based groups.

Historians have written that Lincoln was so desperate to unite the country that during one of his tiring campaigns to capture the crucial border states, he reportedly said that as much as he would like God on his side, he would rather have Kentucky. I do not think he meant that God was less important, but that if the country was to be united, states such as Kentucky were crucial. It is with this lens that I look at Obama’s campaign. Senator Obama deeply believes that if we are to be America again, then it is his central theme to capture blue and red; black and white; left and right; evangelical; catholic and everything else. He is not afraid to deal with things as they are; he is not just a democrat, but also a ‘visionary optimist’. He is the only candidate in my view that can bridge the generational gap – from the millennial backward. I do not know what is politically correct anymore, but I want to say that I believe him when he says that he does not have the baggage of the past – he does not seem to remind Americans of the fights between black and white of the 1960s, or the fights between Democrats and Republicans of the 1990s. With his election as the President of the United States, we shall have accomplished a genuine revolution in the civil rights movement, race relations, and we shall have bridged a generational gap, we shall have come full cycle - the completion of a puzzle laid out over two centuries ago, the experiment of the United States.

For what it is worth, nobody can blame Senator Obama for having a central vision – the unification of the United States, from where every issue in his platform emanates. He strongly believes that if America is to restore its leadership in the world then we must project unity in our actions and values. He sees as a disservice to America when the government does not open its doors to all citizens and, to the world when we isolate ourselves from them through actions contrary to our values. The Senator truly believes that unilateral actions and disregard of international norms deprive America of its just influence internationally, and as Lincoln once put it, “…enables the enemies of free institutions with plausibility to taunt us as hypocrites.”

Therefore, for these reasons, in addition to the fact that he is brilliant, tall, and handsome, I have made up my mind to vote for him. We want our president to be tall, towering above all in, for example at a G8 meeting.

And that is all I have to say.

Way to go Barack!

To our future President,

I want you to know that the votes have not been counted. You must never give up - even though the media have already annointed their "president" Sir, we are yet to speak. Don't let anyone scare you about abondoning politics of hope. You are still the most visionary and hopeful candidate in the race, and you do not have to apologise to Hillary/ her campaign for pointing out the major differences between the two of you. You are just being real, sir.

I like this new you! You should have started showing these differences between you and Mrs. Clinton along time ago. Regardless, it is still working for me and my friends. I don't think that they are negative attacks as some commentators in the media have pointed out, rather, these are real differences that America needs to hear more about. In fact, I only wish the media could have the same guts that you have, and ask Hillary directly about her ever-changing positions. To tell the truth, her position has not fallen far from that of the current administration, especially on the war (Iraq) and the "looming war with Iran. Mrs. Clinton has been supporting this administration's foreign policy from the beginning. We cannot rely on her judgment anymore.

One advise though - DON'T LET HER DOMINATE THE DEBATE TOMORROW, I mean don't let her get away with anything tomorrow, make sure you point it out as soon as you hear it. Don't leave it for the media "commentators/ experts" for afterwords. Another thing, BE AS GOOD AS YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. Be the diplomat that I know, but, don't be "soft" Make sure that you don't leave your points unfinished - even if you have to go over time a little bit. However, don't let the media fool you to shout or get angry - because they will pounce on that like a hungry lioness.

We are counting on you Senator. This is our time under your humble leadership. May God bless you and may God bless America.
