Obama Rally for Connecticut

What an experience...again 2,000 people jammed into Hamden High School Auditorium, the cafeteria, and the hallway to listen to our State/National leaders speak on behalf of Senator Barack Obama. Two hours of exuberance....a beautiful film made at the Convention....and we all walked away excited as ever about the process of electing Senator Obama as President of the United States.

Connecticut Campaign Kick-off Event

Tomorrow Nancy Z and I are headed to the Kick-off for Senator Obama's campaign in Hamden Ct. This two hour event will bring all of the House of Representative members and Senator Dodd. We are lookig forward to hearing to all of the Democrats speak about Senator Obama's campaign and plan on taking lots of photos.

Can't Wait Until Thursday

Went to the Events Site to learn Mt. Aerie Baptist Church in Bridgeport will show the Convention speeches and most importantly Senator Obama's speech, celebrate Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream speech" as well as meeting Jim Himes who is running for the House of Representatives in the 4th District. Go Jim and his campaign manager Maura Kearny!!!! It will be an amazing evening, one that I never thought I would see in my lifetime.

Rock The Vote in Bridgeport

Finally an event in Bridgeport that I could connect with. Yesterday was a perfect day to head to one of the large chain food superstores for a couple of hours of Registration. Turned out that I registered 10 new voters, and two with an address change. I figure that wasn't bad, because I was stuck in one place all of the time. Seem to Register more voters when I am working the crowd.

Thursday evening I'll be at an event with Jim Himes who is running for the House of Representatives in the 4th District. It looks like he has a really good chance to get Shays out of office. Can't wait to step into Mt. Aerie Baptist Church and share with the citizens of Bridgeport the moment we have all been waiting for....Senator Obama's acceptance speech for President of the United States.....a new direction for this country, by the man that will accomplish it

Quite an event in New Haven, Connecticut as everyone tried to get people to Register to Vote. There must have been 20 volunteers, and did we work the crowds. I was with a lovely young lady by the name of Meg, who had just graduated from Yale in environmental studies. We walked Chapel Street which is the main street adjacent to Yale University. Also spent time at the New Haven Jazz Festival on the Green. It's a large area, and there must have been 1,000 people there from 4-6 p.m. After two hours of talking and walking Meg and I were able to register 14 voters. I thought it was amazing that I registered two adults ages 53 and 59 that had never voted!! Looking for more events in the area to register voters...will keep everyone posted.

On to New Haven

This coming Saturday the Jazz Festival will take place in New Haven, Connecticut. Organizers for Senator Obama in New Haven are going to have two days of Voter Registration. I learned about it on www.barackobama.com on "Events" in my area, and signed up to participate on Saturday afternoon. This is the first registration event I've participated in and I understand they have a huge turnout for the Jazz Festival.

Searching for Tee-Shirts

It was so hot yesterday and yet we were searching a flea market in West Haven, for Obama Tee-Shirts. Garnelle gave me the correct information about the location of the flea market. The vendors had a large selection but not in all sizes. It was a successful trip!

Fired Up at The Senior Center

It was another exciting day at the Senor Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Three weeks ago I ordered Obama for President pins from the website, and when they arrived everyone immediately put on their pins. The next time we met they wanted to know where to purchase them because all of their friends, and family wanted one also! Today I arrived to see some of the Seniors wearing Obama Hats, a fabulous tee-shirt in red with a photo of Senator Obama on the front and pins on pocketbooks, and shirts.

We've posted a photo taken of Senator Obama at the 17,000 Rally in Hartford, and one of Michelle with me at a fundraiser for Senator Obama. We are all fired up about the election in November and everyone is registered to vote.

I'll keep you posted about the Seniors!
