I have written a letter to Congressman Donnelly (D) 2nd District - IN requesting him to take leadership in denouncing the behavior and attacks against Sen. Obama. Please do the same with your local congresspeople and Senators. This type of behavior is unacceptable and should be stopped as soon as possible. God only knows what some of the radical right wingers think and could take action into their own hands.

In honor of Sen. Obama's calls to teach our children another language in addition to their mother tongue of English, for your enjoyment here is ABBA, one of my favorite groups singing in Spanish. In case you are not familiar with ABBA ( they are an older group from my college days ) - they are Swedish and have numerous albums and songs they have sung in Spanish and other languages to include Spanish.

Not to mention, that there are several education studies that confirm that just like learning to play a musial instrument, learning an additional language in addition to your mother tongue increases your IQ.

Need I say more ?

Someone, a former Hillary supporter had written a blog post regarding her lack of enthusiasm for supporting Sen. Obama as she came over from the Hillary camp. She wanted other bloggers on MYBO to give her reasons to support Sen. Obama enthusiastically.

One of the points that attracted me to Sen. Obama's bid for the presidency was his efficiency. Yes, that is a point that has not merited great discussion. The article linked below will detail the differences between the McCain campaign and Sen. Obama's campaign which speaks to the cause of efficiency.

If the efficiency and the focus of the Obama campaign can be translated to the workings of the US govt. once Sen. Obama takes office, can you imagine all the millions of dollars that could be saved in our wasteful government's intertwinings and bureaucracies ?

To this blogger, I appreciate your loss - I can imagine how I would have felt if Sen. Obama had lost. Both of these campaigns were not only campaigns, but movements as well. Movements that both of these candidates carried and carried well. While I am sorry that you do not resonate with Sen. Obama's campaign, the other alternative is frightful.

So I am giving you my initial primary reason for supporting Sen. Obama and supporting him enthusiastically. And I hope that if all the MYBO bloggers can add to your list, maybe you can find a point that will resonate with you to support Sen. Obama with all the enthusiasm you had for Sen. Clinton.

I would respectfully request Bayh not be considered as a VP candidate. Not only for the reasons as listed in this article but I find him non responsive to information. I have contacted his Senate office contact email address and have never received any kind of response. I would go for Lugar before I would go for Bayh. He was a huge HRC supporter which is not a problem, except that since the primary, he has been absent from campaigning for Sen. Obama.

He's also accepted money from AK STEEL - an environmental polluter.

So, once again, NO TO BAYH.

There is a great article by MSNBC that came out right before the July 4th holiday and the mainstream media ( other than MSNBC ) didn't catch. I can't find it in any of the blogs or in print and it is sooooo important - it supports Sen. Obama's position in foreign relations by The Chairmen of the Joints Chief of Staff Mullen and disputes McCain's stand that we should not engage in talking with our enemies ( I don't understand how you would resolve anything and look at where we are now ).

I found a great story today by Mitchell Bard about a little GAO report that mainstream media / Mc Cain / and the GOP seem to have overlooked. THE SURGE IS FAILING IN ITS MAIN GOAL - to give the Iraqi govt. breathing room to get its case in order.

But listening to McCain today - "the surge is working".

Today in The Huffington Post, there is an article in the politics section that links to The NY Times about the person who has built this website. His name is Chris Hughes and he was one of the founders of FaceBook. I don't know about you, but I love MyBO.
Thank you Chris! And I hope you end up at The White House.

One of the things that has impressed me with the Obama campaign is the efficiency of the whole thing. If we could translate that to the bureaucracies and inefficiencies of our govt. we could save billions of dollars. And that includes the efficiency of this website and how we can communicate with our local campaigners or those far away and get ideas on how to proceed.

Once again, I love MyBO and I hope Chris goes to Washington!

FISA info from my congressman 2nd district of IN

One of my congressman's staffers called me with information on FISA and I have researched a couple of other articles.

This bill was a compromise between the Republicans and the Democrats. The Republicans, of course, wanted blanket immunity for the telecoms. The Democrats, of course, didn't. To get this bill passed there had to be a compromise.

The FISA Amendment throws the lawsuits into the District Courts for review. Therefore, the District Courts will review each case on its merits and see if it should proceed with the case. Evidently, the sticking point with a lot of people is that if you consent to do something in a good faith effort to help and broke the law in doing so, the fact that you attempted to act in good faith should absolve you. I was told this clause applies to criminal law also. I will have to continue to research this.

So, no - the bill does not allow for retroactive blanket immunity. The District Courts will review all the cases.

I set up a website so that our group would have a centralized point to access information regarding INDIANA VOTER REGISTRATION. I have Word tables that I have set up to make voter registration information easy to read without all the gobbledy gook. I also have the table in Spanish.

Please go to michiana-speak.com for all of these forms. You will get a message that the site may not exist ( I haven't worked out all the bugs - I am not an IT pro ). But for what we need it works. Any INDIANA groups involved in voter registration, you are welcomed to the information and download anything you need.
