CNN and our dear President

President Obama is hard at work - working for us, not taking vacation after vacation in hard times as baby Bush did.!

So, how can we help? and in a stay at home easy manner?

Let's get busy with the public opinion polls out there, for instance the CNN polls. CNN has stayed for sometime on the polls about what Obama is doing or thinking of doing. The results are not good!

Make no mistake- these polls push what used to be called op-ed pieces(our polling indicates..).

Right now the CNN home page has yet another "what do you think about Obama" poll.

Please get in there and tick the box FOR President Obama and what he is working hard to get done!

This will push the station and all the producers, editors, staff writers and on-air folks to report the "findings". The far right is using these polls to take down public support for our President!

On the main CNN page is the poll, it will only take you a minute to scroll down and add you vote.

We must stay active!

Here is the link http://www.cnn.com/

Take a look at the unbalanced results and help our dear President!

Pardon Me, I'm Only The Patient

Pardon Me!

The title of this says a lot. Going to doctors has become quite difficult as they and the health care industry is run by the insurance companies, not the needs of a patient or what the doctor thinks is best for his/her patient but by a huge industry set on making money..only!

The GOP is putting out scarey ideas:

the government wants to take over our private lives

the government wants to kill older people

On and on they go while all the time taking money to work not for the people of this country who elected them but for the money, the power to control our lives and our health care.

Let us tell the truth! What IS a Preferred Provider list but simply a list of doctors in the pockets of the insurance industry? Already we are limited to what tests we can get, what treatments we can obtain and why? Because the doctors themselves have been up for sale and bought.

I just changed doctors because of this reason - a doctor that I must pay up front because he is not on The List. Now, finally, a few simple tests will be ordered to keep an eye on my health. With his help perhaps I will have the correct medication. This is life changing, good intelligent health care. But now my husband and I will be punished by the far to big health care insurance company. Who wants to bet they will not cover simple blood tests? Or new meds that work.

All of this is so wrong and thank God we have a President who is willing to go up against the power and fight for us, the patients.

Bye Bye Palin!

This could not have been a better day! Now tomorrow as I hang the American flag out along with the MIA/POW flag I will grin about Palin dropping her job with Alaska.

Some well needed good news.

Bizarre behaviour aside this woman was an embarresment to all of us. Come on! We need women who have a brain to lead the states. What was Alaska thinking putting her in charge anyway??

Alright maybe laughing at the Republicans can get addicting! but it is so much fun! They are out of ideas and all they can do is what they have done for decades- Poo Poo everyone elses' ideas!

I feel great that Obama is out there active and working for us.

Who in the world needs Republicans anyway( except for a good laugh now and again). They are the party of anti: anti-women rights, anti gay rights, anti- taxes for the wealthy. They need to chill and get in touch with America- then again they could have done that 30 years ago! to bad.

Swine Flu

This swine flu is going to be a bigger story and very soon! CNN devoted enough time to it last night that it scared me greatly. It is being worked on by the CDC to find origins - bet those people are working quite hard. So what do we do?

Any ideas please post!

As an older mother it makes sense for us to wash our hands, and often. Simple? Not really- we go about our lives busy and not thinking. My great aunt who is nearly 95 years young and a nurse for 50 years says washing our hands often is a first line of defense...get into the habit, especially after shopping or being at work.

Next wash fresh produce - do not think that the store has done this for you. After a long grocery shop I am tired and it is more simple and easy just to stuff everything away and go set down. Stop! take the time to rinse your food.

We will hear more soon about this but until then, be safe and smart.

Is anyone else having problems with the elcetric/water/basic phone bills? The electric company is the only one here in Arizona that gives a break for disabled or low income people- but that is taking months to pull together(in the winter).

These companies have and continue to raising rates sky high.

Is there not a way to rein them in??

We have no choice - either these companies or go without!

How I would love to put solar panels in, yet the out lay of money is not possible and I'm not to sure about any tax help beyound that.

The Corporation Commision is useless to the consumer.

Along The Road We Go

Is it not great to wake up knowing we have a President who is working hard for US??

Finally! today we hear about the rail system getting much needed attention.

Any of you old enough to remember when we could travel nearly anywhere by train?

The airline lobbyists put a stop to our trains! What a great system we had- and now to bring it into this century is exciting.

We are in the top part of Arizona - in the believe it or not - I would have to drive to Flagstaff, AZ, get on an AmTrac and go to California in oder to go East! Really! Even though the train comes right back through Flagstaff a person must buy a ticket to California to head the other direction. Strange.

Bet this gets sorted also.

Blue meanies Back- Time to Post

It is so hard to see most of the front page on posts being occupied by the nonsense. So another post is in order.

Back to "Path To Citzenship" or Citzenship part 2.

My post got two great answers. 1. fine the employers and 2. the idea of letting the illegals get away with breaking the law is not good.

Fist of all the illegal problem in Arizona is massive! If a business is busted, they go right back to doing things their way-right away. This is not working.

I am in the top part of Arizona and yet, any given day, there are men standing on street corners waiting- they wait for construction bosses to pull up for two or three or more people. The men get paid cash for whatever hours they work...dangerous on not they must eat/pay rent.

Fining illegals up to $4000. for being here and then saying it is a path to citizenship is unrealistic. They do not have that kind of money.

How about community service? Heaven knows we could use that!

Citizenship For All

My ancestors were from Scotland, England and France. They came to America for a better life and were willing to work for that life.

Depending on the laws at any time- they changed often, most of them worked to get citizenship. Normally most of them had to 1. be in America 7 years and 2. own land.

Our Latino or Mexican peoples here illegally need to catch a break and become citizens.

Just look at it this way, more taxes will then be paid. Being in Arizona I have seen this problem for decades. Most of the dishwashers and even cook here in Prescott, AZ are not here legally. They are paid in cash and pay no taxes. They also work construction jobs. At any given time they are picked up on a street corner to work for a few hours, yet pay no taxes. WalMart does this all the time! If caught they fill up the jails - learning bad skills on how to get by.

They need the same breaks my people got so many years ago! I have met many Mexican folks- they work hard and take care of families, their yard and live by the laws of the U.S.

I am happy that President Obama is willing to give them a chance - they are for the most part great people. Think about the amount of money put into catching them- this could go away and be used for a better purpose.

What do you think?

Post In Answer to Blue Meanies

Nearly the whole page is a nonsense post, so as I said everytime I see this ..I will post.

hmm, let us see- what is interesting.

How about lost children! Again a 8 year old girl in Cali went missing in a trailer park. Now what would common sense dictate? There is a background to the answer.

Years ago an eight year old in Phoenix went missing- her mother was walking around with her as she collected for the newspapers that she had delivered. The mom stopped to chat outside an apartment building with a friend and left the little girl to go into the building by herself. It was the last time her mom saw her alive.

At the time my girls were very small - I screamed at the t.v. "Look in all the apartments"! but the cops did not. It came out later that the janitor had taken her into his place, tied her up-later abusing her and then killing her. The body was found right there behind a dumpster.

If only they had knocked on doors but further asked politely "May we look around your rooms"? If a person will not let the volunteers or cops look- keep an eye on them or bust in...they do it all the time in emergency.

With all the no search warrants problems - this is top of my list!! Top! Protect Americas' children!

When a small child goes missing they either were taken by car or someone RIGHT THERE has them

Common Sense! What do you think?

Morning! I see the blue meanies are back posting nearly the whole page- let us get busy and out post them! Now!

As far as the budget goes- what did Congress say about baby Bushies' budgets?? not much, just passed them and threw the money in their pockets.

Now they pick, pick, pick at President Obama - who is trying to clean up their mess.

It is easy to be a naysayer, much more difficult to offer constructive ideas.

How great it is to have a person in the highest office in the land who is working for us!

Organic White House Garden

When our girls were 2 and 5 years of age we had a huge garden. I refused to use pesticides etc. and the garden grew anyway! If an enemy of my garden appeared I quickly put up small fencing and let the chickens at that area. worked fine!

On the plus side, a child who gets to work the soil, plant a seed, water it- is then amazed! My! Look! Someing is growing. Guess what? they DO eat their vegetables because they are so proud of having grown them.

As our oldest got old enough to go out by herself I sent her out to pick the vegetable for supper, her choice. She had learned how to tell when anything was ripe and ready. She would come back to the house holding her precious cargo with a great big smile.

Wonder if the grandma living there thought this idea up? It certainly is a good one! Lots of great lessons to be learned.

After just watching our intelligent President speak I must admit I am still surprised....at how sharp he is, at how he explains and takes the time to answer fully a question and at how proud I am to have voted for such a man.

After baby Bush anything would have seemed better, the difference from 5th grade papers to senior year in high school papers, but we have zoomed to the top of the heap.

Knowing that President Obama is actually working in the White House, working for me for you and for our country lets me sleep better, rest easy. Things are hard! for us and others

but the future is here and forming- this is not a President who takes vacations every other week.

Good Job, Mr. President

Swimming With the Sharks

Make no mistake - good decent people who make it to our nations' capitol soon learn it is a pool of sharks. The sharks(no offense to the creature in nature, please) Do not want change....things going along as "normal" with corruption, greed and mis-management is how the folks want it to stay.

President Obama does not say "pretty things" for votes! He has jumped into the politics of Chicago so he must know and does know how difficult change for the better is.

Our job is to support him and organize any way we can.

I do not look back on my life and wish I was younger, still healthy-that is silly and unproductive...but how, dear friends, I do wish I still had the kick ass in me that my life was lived by.

Now it is to you younger people. Get organized and do someting locally to change the "norm".

Any fight worth fighting is hard, takes time and effort and you must keep your head above the petty meaness

Remember! everyone has a boss-go, if you must, over their heads. Local change is most certainly easier than diving into a new place that is already set in their ways.

I have a brain and am willing to e-mail anyone who needs help for research or ideas.

AIG and the Bushies

Before leaving office Bush gave to AIG - now it is up to President Obama to clean that mess up also. Bush left America in a horrid state! Bush gave to all his rich buddies everything they wanted, no bid contracts, billions of dollars and an America with few legal rights.

Let us all support President Obama in his mighty quest to turn this country around.

Why and How the V.A. Does NOT Help Veterans

So we have a Veterans Affairs organization, it is there to take claims and help our Veterans. Sounds good? Well let us get real.

If you work for the V.A. as a claims officer or even a service officer and want to get ahead - your job is to turn down claims. period.

To simple? No! it is not. Take a closer look and you will see those who rise to the top "save" the V.A. money. How? By turning down valid claims. The V.A. will spend years, decades if needed running a Veteran into the ground to NOT help them.

The same applys to the families of Veterans. I should know, my father died and my mother and I, although legally under the V.A. laws should have gotten benefits-we did not. I worked on the open claim for over ten years, then they sent it back down to the start place and away we went again.

After over ten years I did what most people do- I gave up.

Every morning feels like a brand new day - how proud I am that my dear country now has a President we can be proud of! I fly our flags (American & POW/MIA) and smile as I put them out. Today it is raining so they must not be put out but you get the idea.

Here is a link sent to me on Air Force One, how I avoided looking at or seeing Bush talk- even photos of him. Because I want to be postive that will be left there.

With President Obama in office I love to watch programs on Air Force One, knowing that wherever he goes people think "now there is a smart man!"..such a credit to all of us.

Here is the link, Enjoy! http://blogs.reuters.com/photo/2009/03/06/welcome-aboard-air-force-one/comment-page-3/#comments

Dawn in Arizona

Divorce? You are Kidding!

My hubby and I just hit 29 years of marriage - happy and hard my friends. People are saying- divorce him! He is a stable good fellow who I still enjoy talking with, laughing with. Why would people say this??? money.

I am disabled with arthritis- joint and spine deterioration, I drop things and fall. My mind works..but I could no longer work a job anymore than I could climb a mountain.

So, they say, divorce him and get benefits. I did work long enough in my life to get a tiny check from Social Security IF I was alone. hmmm.

But what about a life together? What about all the problems we worked together on and made it through to the other side? Our families have moved on to Heaven, we are alone.

We still have each other, maybe not a great deal of "things" but...

What do you think?

More about My Home Loan

Thanks first to all the nice folks who responded to the post about my loan being with a "service company" that would not tell us where our loan is..or who owns it. What we have decided to do is try for a V.A. loan, again President Obama has come through with new programs to reach out to the American people-this time taking a very clear move to help Veterans. McCain is a....oops, want to stay positive, but let me just say he has never answered/helped Veterans on anything I have ever heard about- and I have been in Arizona since the mid 1970s. He is not in my district but the service officers at the V.A. hospital say do not take time to write him- he will not answer.

According to the V.A. web site the Veterans Assoc. is set on helping to re-finance homes, or so they say. We will see if indeed they have people to help and will do this- not a re-finace to get more money but one to drop the interest percent down a bit.

I can't do anything with the V.A. since I am not the veteran- my husband needs to do all this, I will in the end also sign papers but under the law I do not have the right to get private papers together for him. I will keep everyone up to date. The first paperwork for him to fill out is laying here by my computer for him to fill out this weekend when he is home from Phoenix.

Where is My Home Loan??

This is serious. We do not know who or what holds our home loan! We pay to a "Servce Company" who will not give out any information. Now that hubby is back to work we wanted to see if we could re-finace.

Does anyone know how to get this information? How can they hide it from us? We are current on our payments and just might qualify for some help...but how can we even start without knowing?

So many things that were illegal years ago - are just fine now, or least were made that way by Republicans.

Anyone know?

How much fun this is to see the Republicans be so puzzled! Gee! you mean hate and letting large corporations run everything did not work??? It all fell onto their heads and now where do they go?? All they are doing is naysaying everything about our President! That's all ya' got. LOL We all had to put up with arrogant nasty Republicans for to darned long. Change has come...and look at them run.

and how great is it to see children in the White House again! Wow! America is coming back to her roots of self help and getting along, and yes, love...caring for our poorest and our elderly...the marks that a great nation makes on the Earth.

When have we ever see a President stand up and be so openly honest with us? not just politics, not just patting himself on the back - but honest talk about us. Thank God and the powers that be for Obama - he can and will work for us and get us out of this mess. The day is brighter folks!

Please Tell -- How Do We Live?

So I can not work because of health and the husband has found a job paying half of what he got before. Making homemade soup and bread will not help us as everything is so expensive. How can utility companies raise their prices so high?

Even though I am disabled the Social Security says my husband makes to much money for me to get what I have paid in years ago. He only worked from late October to now and was out of work the rest of 2008, yet they refuse a small check that is the money I put into Social Security before we were married.

What is becaome of our dear country? Either people have millions or nearer to nothing.

Not growing up wealthy I learned to save, conserve but only so much can be done! Why are large banks and companies getting tax dollars while the working class is close to starving? and the Republicans push to keep it that way?

We will soon be forced to drop our health care-they keep raising the price at nearly $700 per month.

Where to get a flag

This should have been part of an earlier post but this is where I bought our new American flag. www.americanflags.org rapid shipping and high quality. note: they do not come with the pole-it can also be purchased on the same site. This is our small way of showing support for President Obama!

My New Flag

During the Bush administration I walked out onto my deck, one that is far up a hill above the road where all can see my flag and took it down! the U.S. flag that my father died for, the flag that I love with all my heart and for years it sat gathering dust. Finally I got rid of the flag. My new U.S. flag and MIA/POW flag(made in the U.S.) came in the mail today. Quess when it is going up?? Yes! after Obama is sworn in! My flag does not fly in the dark or rain or snow. It goes out at sunrise and comes in at sunset- How wonderful to be able again to fly it proudly.

Soon it will be the time that Obama needs us more than ever! The Republicans will be biting at his heals at every step he takes...blog, post here, talk to people- Support Obama! The job for him is huge, after what Bush did to our country. So this is just a reminder..do not listen to the folks who say "it can not be done" - we already got him elected, now is the time to support more and more.
Tears of Joy

for aperson who hardly ever in her life has cried this has been interesting to say the least! The speeches from Obama, winning the right to run for President, and winning!! the tears came and many times would not stay in my eyes but flowed freely down my cheeks.

I am going to record the swearing in ceremony because I know it will be hard not to cry again and then hard to see, but they are tears of joy as my dear country goes in a correct direction. Hard, yes but I have total faith Obama can and will get done what needs to be done.

I refused to fly the American flag early on when baby Bush was elected, a flag my father died for. Now it is the ready...as soon as Obama is sworn in, out goes the flag. It is brought in at sunset and put out at sunrise. How beautiful our flag is!!! in the Arizona sun.

Can't be soon enough for me!

In January the company my husband worked for went out of business. We bought into the health care with Blue Cross Blue Shield. fine. Then my husband looked for work all this year finally landing a part time position with no benefits.

The big problem is not only was he out of work most of the year and I am disabled but now Blue Cross keeps rasing our monthly rates!..plus they added another deductible that started not at the first of the year but in September!

Is there no stopping the insurance companies from this greediness??

Homeless Veterans

Here is an idea! For just a minute think...all these houses taken by foreclouser all over America and what is done with them? they set empty. For us that own a home we know- they take constant work. If nothing else the heat must be on during the winter to keep the pipes from freezing. Left empty gangs/drug addicts/vandals will do damage. Now we also have record numbers of Veterans homeless or near to homelessness. Why not put Veterans who get a small check, or work or have families doing their best, to occupy these homes for say 6 months to a year? Rent is free but they must keep the home in good repair. What at that point does the bank lose? At the end when Obama is in charge there could be a government backed program to let them stay in that house/home.

This site has become quite negative - yet my hope in Obama still lives on and will. Please-give this man a chance, he is not even in office yet. I do not want to drop my membership on this site but if the negativity keeps up I will do so. Our country is in trouble- 8 years of baby Bush working hard to ruin our Democracy has worked, make no mistake he set out to steal elections, got it done and helped only the very rich get richer. Bush did not care what happened to any of us. Now we go on and can only pray that the teams Obama puts together can get this mess cleaned up.

After all this time, all our efforts to get Senator Obama elected to the highest job in the land...can't we trust him for a bit longer? Yes, I still have some rather hard feeling about HRC but he will do what needs to be done.
BailOut and Made In America

So dear friends the hunt once again for Christmas gifts with the Made in U.S.A. sticker is on, and on and on.

All you men out there! if you want to lean over on the job or at home and NOT have your rear hang out - wear western shirts! The shirts now come in such a range of colors/sizes/designs that surely you could find what fits your taste.

I found:

www.allamericanclothing.com www.madehereinamerica.com and www.schaeferoutfitter.com

Why not let these companies expand with our tax money? The last one listed does not have shirts but would love to add them, adding jobs to American workers!

Forget the huge companies that mismanage, why not small business? and before anyone says

Happy! Happy!

To everyone who helped in any way with the election of Senator Obama:

my heart goes out to you! We did it! This time it took a remarkable man to make us all believe, for me once again to believe that problems can be solved, that life can get better for our country.

At our ages my husband and I were amazed that young people would join in and help....yet, you see, we had seen this. Our dreams died:

dreams of world peace, all people working together, dreams of taking gentle care of our planet, dreams of holding hands together for the bettermeant of all people.

When Obama spoke in 2004 we were not paying much attention to the DNC speakers, we were talking just chatting over the t.v. and then it happened! Obama took the stage and started to speak, both my husband and I shut up. Mouths nearly opened in dis-belief we listened and both said at the same time Who Was That Man?? The hairs stood up on our necks - we, at our age, recognized greatness as you see we had seen it before...granted a long time ago but the feeling was still there, the knowing as though an old friend or loved one had walked into our front room!

Holding my Breath

Last night I was glued, as I'm sure many were, to all the returns.....and then came the announcement and the tears.

Wow! We did it!

My little doggie I just rescued set on my lap(when I could hold still)- he is so nervous but when I did my happy dance he wagged his tail for the first time!

America may still in some parts be in the dark but we helped the best man for the job get elected.

I see a future now for all of us. As millions did wonder if the Reps could steal another elction I walked around on tip toes, praying, hoping....

President Obama inherits a horribly broken government but he can get it done.

Now let us keep him in office for two terms!

McCain and the Draft!

Here is a good article about McSame and the Draft! Most of you are to young to know about how the government can just send a letter and Take your son/daughter and send them into battle!

In Vietnam we lost 58,000 young lives! and stayed there 12 years. McCain says 100 years in Iraq. But our military is short of warm bodies - how would he do that??? The Draft! and if you have ever served our country - he could then force you back! Forget your job/family/plans - he does not care.

http://www.juancole.com/2008/11/coming-mccain-military-draft.html

Now,

Vote!

It Is Time!

Now my fellow bloggers/friends/Dems it is time to put your vote in the mix. We all have worked hard toward this finish line.

Be part of history - be able to say "I helped elect the next President of the United States" - in your heart you will know if it is a lie if you stay home out of comfort.

I have arthritis and heart problems. I did not early vote because I do not trust Yavapai County Election Board(people who know, right in front of them if I'm Dem or Rep) - So my ONLY choice is to stand in line in the cold mountain air - take the pain- have a big loss of motion and energy and

VOTE.

Now listen, if I can do it - so can you!

VOTE! and watch Senator Obama lay his hand on the bible, take his oath of office leading us into a better future for all people. VOTE!

McCain Forgot Arizona

well, really this is not news..come on! He does not work for his "home" state - he has for decades ignored veterans in Arizona and all of us!

It is rather funny - makes me laugh that he thought yet again that he could just go about his rich business and Arizona would fall into voting for him. He is so out of touch!

We have been rather ignored although Senator Obama ran adds here - I can see why the Obama camp did not think they could take Arizona..BUT..my husband might get his wish and this state go for Senator Obama.

Vote!

Directv got time wrong for Obama!

On all the stations for the time of the Obama speech tonight - the 1/2 hour we all have been looking forword to, Directv had the listings wrong! My recorder was set for 7P.M. Arizona time as all the stations showed that was the time - Amazing! If I had not been watching a show I thought was coming on MSNBC I would have missed it and missed recording it for my husband. Directv, for many years, has NEVER been wrong on the schedule. I reported this to the Obama people and now will complain to Directv. hmmm. Not the stations fault - they were set by Directv that way - all of them.

Are Banks Republican?

So I went today inside my bank(Chase) to make a transaction. We have been at that same bank since moving to Prescott, Arizona 18 years ago. The bank has changed names at least twice but we hung in there.

I was in line, only one man ahead of me when an officer for the bank came to me and said "I can help you over here". I pointed out that there was a man in front of me - "Oh, he will get helped soon"...so I followed-way back and into an office. strange.

Whatever! I needed to tranfer some money and laid the papers and deposit slip out on his desk. But this man was so strange at one point he stopped and said "Did you say happy?" I said, "what?" "Oh, I thought you said happy".

Now I am a friendly talk right along person and 61 years old. I was dressed nice, as always and was busy running chores...Walgreens, bank, get truck washed, stop by health food store.

Finally I stopped being friendly and asked this man what was going on. I said " oh, am I getting closely looked at because of the Obama hat and sweatshirt?" He just stared at me. I had my answer. Now all my documents are the same address but by this point he had asked over and over if my address/phone/zip code were correct.

They are Union Made and Made in The U.S. !!

I just ordered things for my family. The reason I wish I had thought earlier to do this - is that they are out of some sizes. Still I got a great heavy shirt for my daughter - and who would not want to have buttons from this campaign.

And, as always...Vote!

Obama Correct on Spanish

I saw an article against Senator Obama because he said "your children should learn Spanish"..which, of course, was only part of what he did say.

When my first child entered Kindergarten she was given beginning Spanish(many years ago) and she picked it right up as the other children did! Later in life I had another child and was laughed at by the school when I brought Spanish up. The teacher said "why? We have enough trouble with English". Huh! Oh, really.

Friends from other countrys are used to learning at least one more lauguage than their own - it has been part of the education system in Europe for decades and a wonderful idea for us to teach also. We do have a global economy like it or not.

Here is the youtube link for the speech by Senator Obama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZprtPat1Vk

Remeber! Vote!
A Taste of Their Own Medicine

This mornings news was making me laugh! The Republicans are whining up a storm about Senator Obama and the Democrats having money to spend on adds this election. tee hee! For those of us that remember - the Republicans for decades have out spent the Dems, thowing corporate and millionaire money at all elections.

Who is it that got America in such debt? Who, which party, has spent money our country did not and does not have?

A Democracy sets, runs on the workers paying taxes. This econonmy is that complex and that simple. The Republicans, starting with Ray-gun, have paid companies to ship jobs, factorys overseas and now....well, you see the mess it created.

Senator Obama had it correct - get jobs going in this country and again America has a tax base to operate the government. The problem comes in when the very wealthy see themselves as a different and better class of people. Now they are whining ..hope this gives you a laugh also!

Vote!

McCain and the Facts..again

Here goes McCain again - does he really think the voters are stupid?? On Meet The Press I watched him say he would be "ready from day one" to be president because during the Cuban Missle Crisis "I was there". Where? Certainly not in Congress!

It has been so interesting to see McSame lie his way around this election and all we had to do was to type the "facts" into any search engine and Read. The slate article says it better than I can but I stopped, figured out my age during the Cuban Missle Crisis and said to hubby "wait! How could he have been there?"

http://www.slate.com/id/2202953/

the answer is..he was not!

Go Obama! Vote!

Neighbor To Neighbor

Reaching out to all I run into is about as far as my health will let me go - although I did ask if the local office would not open earlier and I would be there to do it. It is a tiny little place off downtown that does not open until 11 A.M. They only called me to make phone calls. Oh, well. Finally they got in signs and yesterday on my way to Safeway I stopped by, picking up three signs. Our property is on a hill, a fenced acre so one sign went at the top on the fence, one went on the deck that peeks at the street from an acre and 1/2 away and one at my bottom gate. This morning my neighbor was working on the west side of his home, I stopped to say "hi" and he asked "Where can I get one of those signs - I want one for the front yard". I left my truck where it was and walked back uphill, grabbed the one by the downhill gate and he had his sign. Yes! just that simple - talk with folks, start with the weather if you need an opening and just ask, mention, show concern. We can do this! Now vote!

After we all vote we will have the pleasure of seeing Obama lay his hand on the bible! And the world will have changed forever. Yes! We Can!

McCain family Slave Holders!

I knew there was a reason months ago when the Clintons and the Obamas had their ancestory done, yet John McCain held back. Hmmm, let's see old family, rich, maybe from the south. My family guessed this and Joe McCain has even shown up for a family reunion. Here is another example of McCains writing the history he wants you to believe- not what is true.

Shopping and People

Here in Arizona my Obama jacket/pin/hat has brought little comment - until today. It is almost like folks finally realized an election was to take place. Alone I went to the grocery and spent at least 10 to 15 minutes with each person who wanted to talk. Only one fellow was quite pro-McCain but, as a good Democrat, I kept it as nice as possible and did speak with him. As he left he told me to research and I said I would if he would - later I saw him again in the store and we were civil, even joking.

We are the people who are out there with our hearts and hopes on our shirtsleeves, letting all see who we want elected. As these representavitives we MUST be gentle and even kind to those(especially) older people who disagree with us! Really it does good, not bad, to handle them with care and consideration.

Mostly I would say people wanted to speak with me because they are scared! Many have lost jobs, benefits, money and future hopes. Because of this, they may be rude or demanding - just hang in there, watch for the opening to stay positive. Good Luck and keep up the great work to get Obama in the White House!

signs and more signs

Here in Prescott Arizona, a hard core Republican state - all of a sudden Obama yard signs are all over!! On my way to the grocery I started to notice that it was not the odd occurance but the rule. Yes, a few McCain signs but very few. As I went along it was my purpose to go through different neighborhoods to take a closer look.

So, this is good news and news I wanted to share.

Go Obama!

Obama - Best Person for the Job

Why is there so much resistance to the Wall Street Bailout? The name does not help! but really it is the fact that we can no longer believe anything the Bush Administration says!! If baby Bush had shut up - perhaps it would have been an easier thing to do - Also..there is the fact that the future is unclear and that all that money may not save us! Why can't this "plan" be explained? Why is it so unclear? What America needs is jobs - like Obama says "building from the bottom up" - not bailing out the Big Fat cats(that part is my words).

Why not have an expensive plan to get American jobs going - throw that money at American small business - let them expand.?

The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer is not a great way to go.

Add to all this that we are the only industrialized country in the whole without universal health care and put it all together.

What do you think?

IF i get a vote - No! to Bailing out the Big Boys

Here we go again throwing money at the wealthy. No! Especially since W came out and said "Duh, geez we must do this right now or the world will go away or explode or something"....okay maybe it was not exactly his words but he lies so much it is hard to believe anything that falls from his thin lips.

I have supported Obama from the git go - maybe now I will set this election out. Another country(living there) is looking better and better all the time. America is only for the wealthy - Democracy was a good idea - but where IS my vote on bailing out the rich?? Wall Street is (the DOW) up 250 points right now..what fall? Geez....

Look Who is Endorsing Obama!

September 23, 2008The Critters Say Paws Up to Obama-Biden, Too!
Even the nation's animals apparently think the tall, skinny dude from Illinois would be better for them than the ticket with that drown-the-polar-bears, helicopter-hunting, global warming denier.

In an unprecedented move, the Humane Society Legislative Fund has endorsed Senator Obama for President. The HSLF, whose board is bi-partisan, has never before endorsed a presidential ticket. As noted in their endorsement announcement, the organization:

"... evaluates candidates based on a single criterion: where they stand on animal protection policies. We don't make decisions based on party affiliation, or any other social issue, or even how many pets they have. We care about their views and actions on the major policy debates relating to animal welfare. The HSLF board of directors has voted unanimously to endorse Barack Obama for President. The Obama-Biden ticket is the better choice on animal protection, and we urge all voters who care about the humane treatment of animals, no matter what their party affiliation, to vote for them.

The group's statement in support of Obama and Biden is quite an interesting read and I encourage all animal lovers to take a look at the full document. As noted in excerpts of the press release after the jump, Obama and Biden both have been staunch defenders of animal life while McCain has been lukewarm to these issues at best and his vp choice is "so extreme that she has perhaps done more harm to animals than any other current governor in the United States."

Personally, I have many, many reasons why I support Senators Obama and Biden, but until the Humane Society made this endorsement, I did not know of the Senators' admirable (and consistent) support of animal protection efforts. I love 'em even more for this and URGE you to share their record with your undecided friends, relatives and oh... just anybody you encounter between now and Nov. 4.

Continue reading "The Critters Say Paws Up to Obama-Biden, Too!" »

Roger Fisher, the band's former guitarist and co-writer of the song said that:

...he strongly endorsed the Democratic ticket, and would donate a portion of royalties he receives from the Republicans' airing of "Barracuda" to the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

"With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama," he said.

Rock on.

Palin Business shit Down/Current t.v.

The warning letter was written on state letterhead, which carried Palin's name at the top, next to the state seal.

On April 3, 2007, the state went further and issued a "certificate of involuntary dissolution" because of the car wash's failure to file its report and pay state licensing fees.

How can this woman be trusted to run the U.S. government if she can't even run a carwash in Anchorage with plenty of help? The WaPo is now reporting that Sarah Palin and her husband were part owners of a business that was shut down by the state for noncompl...

McCain & the lack of American Jobs

Here in Arizona where McCain has ruled for far to long - our jobs have, with a steady pace, gone away. Arizona has always been, since I moved here after college, been one of the biggest new housing markets in the U.S. So how could jobs vanish? He should try the TRUTH. The roofing/landscaping/plumbing/sheet rocking/and so on for new homes have been given to illegal workers who the companies wanted(wanted) to keep illegal. Why? (you know this is going to be about money!) An undocumented worker has no rights - they are paid off the books and get No Rights. If they are hurt on site they are told "to bad". Try looking up The Keating 5 land deals McCain got unto - from the top down large companies have made a tremendous amount of money on the backs of Mexican workers streaming into Arizona....and McCain never once tryed to stop this! Americans who wanted the same jobs, contractors that had played by the rules, were licensed by the state could not get contracts - only the ones who kept costs very low with illegal workers. Still to this day WalMart has for janitorial staff at night nothing but illegal people, every so often they go in and bust one store. Yesterday the Maricopa County Sheriffs office raided a exptremely large landscaping business. This is also a Human Rights issue as the people with familys who just want a job must bend to no insurance, no workmans compensation. McCain has helped to ruin the Arizona job market with greed - do not let him ruin the American economy further! Fired Up! Dawn in Arizona

Soooo Excited!

What a perfect ticket - Obama/Biden. My family all had hopes that Joe Biden would be the VP choice. We need politicians that are like us, come from middle class backgrounds. My grandparents raised me and food many times was a bit short but we were long on character and love for country! Let us get busy now - Make no mistake do not let up with anything and everything you can do, this will be a hard fight against the rich and powerful that we have already seen will do anything to keep power in their fat little hands. Yes We Can!

What were the odds?

Getting older it takes more time to wake in the mornings, and it is a blessing not to rush around although the busy sounds of my children long since grown is a bit missed. Recently against all odds a sunflower has grown tall and thin but with the will plus inner strength to reach the height of my window. There the bright yellow full bloom smiles at me every morning as I set on the edge of my bed - and then I remember another joy..we have a candidate, one that comes along strong with inner strength with a will to win, to give us hope to shine for all of us, rare and stunning to the emotions. After these long dark freightening years with the republicans we can again have a future. I was a child who saw John Kennedy elected against all odds and nasty rumours and then lived through darkness again seeing our leaders cut down. What a lovely way to start my days, with the hope that America will wake up, rally behind and elect Senator Obama to take us all into a bright tomorrow without fear. How wonderful it will be to see an American President actually lead - be welcomed and respected around the world. Know this...we must come together for everyones benefit, for our planets benefit, for our grandchildrens benefit. We need this light, this hope, this new future. And to see little children in the White House.. Wow!

FISA a way to attack Obama?

Alright - please let us think of one thing, Obama right now is one Senator. Great Ideas but one lone voice in the wilderness..right now. When he is President of the U.S. it definitely comes with perks folks. Where a Senator can try his behind off to get a certain thing or idea in reality - SINCE WE ARE AT WAR- a Prez can in many cases put it into effect. and I have seen this-you have also, just think. Althoug not in a war as such...The BEST example I can think of is John Kennedy,JFK set is brother Bobby as head of the DOJ and the Civil Right LAWS that were already on the books....and never enforced, were. Some of the first civcilrights laws were passed in the 1950s but not enforced...totally ignored and the states were not going to tackled that! Look for a minute what happened - a Complete! Civil Rights Movement pushed by the Federal Government, enforced by the Feds. President Obama will have tools...he can enforce laws on the books, and get the political backing to change/re-new/start new legislation. So, more simply put - Obama (or McSame) can say anything but it is what they do IF they get in office that brings it to reality. If politics is a game, dear friends, it is a blood sport. Right now Obama has blown people out of the water with his words, inspired hope and change...without even being President yet! I'll bet I hate it more than you that he must play a political game, but he must to some degree to get elected. To stand the FISA fight on its' head- are the Republicans yet again working to push Obama into a filibuster, taking time away from his running for office? My job, as I see it, is to back Obama - sure question - but to back him and to help as best I can to get him elected. He IS the real deal. Dawn in Arizona

Please do not back down and cry Uncle.(yep, I am old enough to know that one)ha. Keeping postive does not mean taking discussion away, but some of it needs to be somewhere else. It is not negative to ask a question...and I'll ask one. What is the Obama stance on medical marijuana? Or more to the point should the Federal government tell the states what they can or can not do? See? It is not neative but asking for a dicussion.
CNN-live stream

How I do enjoy the Obama speeches! but the big part that is of interest are the reporters questions which the t.v. will leave out, go on to so-called news. How a candidate for the President of the United States thinks on his feet tells us alot about him, what and how he can handle un-scripted situations. This mornings Obama speech I saw on MSNBC and immediately rushed to the computer and CNN. CNN tends to stay with the person for the question and answer part. Two things: 1. Does CNN put out a schedule of upcoming speeches, if so where do we all find them? and 2. It is time we all joined in to push C-SPAN to start covering Obamas' speeches. Now C-SPAN does have a scedule of upcoming events but they are not getting it together to cover Senator Obama. One last short thing: In this question/answer session this morning Obama again blew me away with his knowledge and ability. If it is archived on CNN- it is well worth the time to listen to. Enjoy!

When I signed up here(afraid I would get constant calls which did not happen) I had to fill out a profile: where I am, favorite quote, etc. So, who are these people?

It is time to physically show our support- get that T on or that jacket that says Obama! The store here has Union Made and Made in U.S. things. Giving gifts other than birthday/Christmas/holidays has always been a part of my life...fun! Now I have a chance to carry them in my truck, handing them out to whoever shows interest. Be ready! People will have questions, so do as we have and read, read, read here on this site. Printing out the writings here on different issues and keeping them with you is great also- maybe others have a wonderful memory but I do not. ha.

Okay, the news says that on the RNC site they have a clock counting the number of days since Senator Obama has been to Iraq. uh, okay..BUT..what in the world does that have to do with anything? Really, I'm going to what vacation in beautiful downtown Bagdad, stroll around the open air markets, buy a few nice rugs? The Republicans started a needless, horrible war for profit to their buddies(remember the no-bid contracts) so- the best candidate we have had in recent history needs to risk his life to return there? Or am I missing some point with this?

Okay, I admit my addiction to watching the deleate count here- day after day, many times I stop by to view posts etc. but really I am after the delegate count and watching go up and up! Soooo, in my own mind I wanted to it to hit a full 200 over Clinton. We are now only ONE delegate short of hitting the mark on that. Such a happy day..it is early, maybe today. It is 1982 Obama, 1783 Clinton. Come On! Supers..Let's Go! By the way CNN, as of this morning, only had their delegate count updated as of the 20th of this month- and they are so what? news worthy? That is why I come here to get the count and see just who it was that jumped on the Obama band wagon.

An Ugly Word= Draft!

Just how would McSame stay in Iraq and bomb Iran with the shortage of troops we have right now? I really wish jounalists would bring this up- the Draft. In this home we remember Vietnam, our family and friends and what they faced- either they joined the military or they were Drafted. period. My cousin is still sufferring from being sprayed by Angent Orange and it took over THIRTY YEARS for the V.A. to give him benefits, remove the skin cancers plus get him on the correct medications for the nerve damage. We need a strong military and Obama has some great ideas on getting that done..better benefits, better pay. McSame will put the draft in and is against more benefits for our Veterans.

DNC Wake Up About Clinton

Now having had hours to digest Mrs. Clintons' remarks today, finally through the shock, anger then tears I want to comment. As a young person the first election for President that I paid attention to was the John Kennedy election. It is impossible both with space and time to write here what we all went through and then that horrible day in November. Still the dream of a socially just America lived on after the tears. When Bobby Kennedy was running for President I had reached the magic number of 21 years of age- old enough to vote and yet, again, it was taken away. No, I have never watched the movie JFK nor have I watched any program about Bobby Kennedy-the pain still so many decades later eating at my hope for the future of our country. My father died serving in the military. When the flag passes in a parade a lump forms in my throat, my eyes fill up. I have helped Veterans fight for their benefits, still holding my love of country close. The DNC at the very least must issue a statement condeming Clintons' words today. It would be my high hope that she be thrown out of the race for President of the United States. This is a tough world, to soften it even a bit we must pull together and not allow the people who would set us one against the other to get away with it!

What is Sexism in our society?

It has been decades since I graduated high school and left the comfort and protection of home for the workplace. Not only did I leave my small hometown but I left the state and for a huge town in Colorado. Women could only do certain jobs-at the telephone company in Denver in 1965 a woman could: be a long diatance operater, be an information operator or work in the billing office with male bosses- in the operator postion the bosses were female, at least. I took to training like a duck to water, finding skills that were far above a normal newbie but when I was called back home because of family illness I put on the form that I was leaving because of the lack of oppurtunies for women in any other areas. It was a small step but one that in a way opened more for women in the future. Once out of the again protective setting of working exclusively with women the world came down hard on the then young, rather innocent person. Men not only stood to close but indeed would and did put hands on me...until I fought back-which was a firing offense. Not only was I physically assualted (just good ole' boys will be boys) but was told by many places "women can't do that job, no woman has ever been able to keep up, women do not have the mental skills" That , my friends, is sexism. What it takes away is a chance to even try! The reason I bring this up is that I can no longer keep quiet when I hear Hillary Clinton complain- how dare she? That woman is my age but, Come On!, her advanatages are because of wealth and education. She worked for the Arizona man, Goldwater, who at the time (1964) was a bigot to say nothing of being a Rebuplican. Yes, Goldwater in old age did soften a bit-drew back from his hatred of gays but he will

Stay Positive!

What a wonderful day and here, so far, are four more delegates for our candidate. Stay positive, no matter who or what tries to bring you down. Since Senator Obama and his family can stay positive- so can we. Yes We Can!

Good Day from the mtns of Arizona

My family and myself are looking forward to a little later this afternoon when we see Senator Obama take both Indiana and North Carolina. At my age wanting time to hurry and pass is not a resonable thing, but we are certainly interested to see what happens this afternoon.

Out of many reasons for supporting Obama, my husband and I want to again see young children in the White House! It does our hearts good to see a wife and husband team that love each other and their children.

Are any of you also old enough to remember the Kennedys in the White House with the little ones and all those photographs? Granted I was only 12 when John Kennedy won - still the same feeling has finally come around again- one of hope, one of interest and joy for the future.
