SOMEWHERE in NORTHERN IOWA — The unthinkable has happened. Senator John McCain met a question, while sitting with reporters on his bus as it rumbled through Iowa today, that he couldn’t – or perhaps wouldn’t – answer.

Did he support the distribution of taxpayer-subsidized condoms in Africa to fight the transmission of H.I.V.?

What followed was a long series of awkward pauses, glances up to the ceiling and the image of one of Mr. McCain’s aides, standing off to the back, urgently motioning his press secretary to come to Mr. McCain’s side.

The upshot was that Mr. McCain said he did not know this subject well, did not know his position on it, and relied on the advice of Senator Tom Coburn, a physician and Republican from Oklahoma.

His press secretary, Brian Jones, later reported that Mr. McCain had a record of voting against using government money to finance the distribution of condoms.

All this took place on the second day of the reprise of the “Straight Talk Express” bus trips that Mr. McCain made a central part of his campaign in 2000. It also comes as Mr. McCain has eagerly been trying to ease strains with social conservatives in the party who, for the most part, do not support using government money to pay for condoms.

A transcript of the encounter follows. (Weaver is John Weaver, his senior adviser, and Brian is Mr. Jones, his press secretary):

Reporter: “Should U.S. taxpayer money go to places like Africa to fund contraception to prevent AIDS?”
Mr. McCain: “Well I think it’s a combination. The guy I really respect on this is Dr. Coburn. He believes – and I was just reading the thing he wrote– that you should do what you can to encourage abstinence where there is going to be sexual activity. Where that doesn’t succeed, than he thinks that we should employ contraceptives as well. But I agree with him that the first priority is on abstinence. I look to people like Dr. Coburn. I’m not very wise on it.”
(Mr. McCain turns to take a question on Iraq, but a moment later looks back to the reporter who asked him about AIDS.)
Mr. McCain: “I haven’t thought about it. Before I give you an answer, let me think about. Let me think about it a little bit because I never got a question about it before. I don’t know if I would use taxpayers’ money for it.”
Q: “What about grants for sex education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush’s policy, which is just abstinence?”
Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “Ahhh. I think I support the president’s policy.”
Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”
Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “You’ve stumped me.”
Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it probably does help stop it?”
Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”
Q: “But you would agree that condoms do stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Would you say: ‘No, we’re not going to distribute them,’ knowing that?”
Mr. McCain: (Twelve-second pause) “Get me Coburn’s thing, ask Weaver to get me Coburn’s paper that he just gave me in the last couple of days. I’ve never gotten into these issues before.”

This went on for a few more moments until a reporter from the Chicago Tribune broke in and asked Mr. McCain about the weight of a pig that he saw at the Iowa State Fair last year.

This is the epitome of many modern politicians–saddled by their own lack of knowledge and their adherence to “policy positions” not of their own devising.

I would like a candidate to speak from her or his own mind. I can accept someone admitting to a lack of knowledge. I do not accept a candidate asking an aide what his own position is on an issue.

It seems John McCain has decided to abstain from independent thinking, which will hopefully prevent his spread during election season.

And this is the type of mentality the right-wingers want?? GOD help us all if he's elected.

On November 29, 2002 on CNN’s Late Edition, Sen. McCain said, "We’re not going to get into house-to-house fighting in Baghdad. We may have to take out buildings, but we’re not going to have a bloodletting of trading American bodies for Iraqi bodies....I don’t think it’s easy, but I believe that we can win an overwhelming victory in a very short period of time."

In contrast, Obama made a prominent speech around the same time, October 2, 2002, in which he said, "But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history. "I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a U.S. occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al-Qaeda." Obama correctly foresaw the consequences of the biggest foreign policy blunder in American history. McCain won't even support vets after the bloodletting? Which candidate do you think is more "naive on foreign policy and not as qualified to lead the military?"

Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama's victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president's future campaign role is a "sticking point" in peace talks with Mrs Clinton's aides.

The Telegraph has learned that the former president's rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.

A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support.

A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election.

Mr Clinton last week issued a tepid statement, through a spokesman, in which he said he "is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States ."

Mr Obama was more effusive at his unity event with Mrs Clinton on Friday, speaking fondly of the absent former president, who attended Nelson Mandela's birthday celebrations in London instead. The candidate told the crowd: "I know how much we need both Bill and Hillary Clinton as a party. They have done so much great work. We need them badly."
But his aides said he has so far concentrated on cementing relations with Mrs Clinton first. They say they are content to let relations with Mr Clinton thaw gradually.
It has long been known that Mr Clinton is angry at the way his own reputation was tarnished during the primary battle when several of his comments were interpreted as racist.
But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: "He's been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would get over it. He hasn't. I've spoken to a couple of people who he's been in contact with and he is mad as hell.
"He's saying he's not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.
"You can't talk like that about Obama - he's the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around.
"Hillary's just getting on with it and so should Bill."
Another Democrat said that despite polls showing Mr Obama with a healthy lead over Republican John McCain, Mr Clinton doesn't think he can win.
The party strategist, who was allied to one of the early rivals to Mr Obama and the former First Lady, said Mr Clinton was "very unhopeful" about the nominee's prospects in November.
"Bill Clinton knows the party will unite behind Obama, but he is telling people he doesn't believe Obama can win round voting groups, especially working-class whites, in the swing states," the strategist said.
"He just doesn't think Obama will be able to connect with the voters he needs."
Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton's 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was "very, very bitter", from people who have spoken with him.
"It's time for him to get over it or go off and do his charitable work. He knows the rules of the road. What's going on now is kind of strange. I think his behaviour is really, really shocking."

Dobson accuses Obama of Distorting the Bible

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement's biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a "fruitcake interpretation" of the Constitution.

The criticism, to be aired Tuesday on Dobson's Focus on the Family radio program, comes shortly after an Obama aide suggested a meeting at the organization's headquarters here, said Tom Minnery, senior vice president for government and public policy at Focus on the Family.

The conservative Christian group provided The Associated Press with an advance copy of the pre-taped radio segment, which runs 18 minutes and highlights excerpts of a speech Obama gave in June 2006 to the liberal Christian group Call to Renewal. Obama mentions Dobson in the speech.

"Even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools?" Obama said. "Would we go with James Dobson's or Al Sharpton's?" referring to the civil rights leader.

Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy — chapters like Leviticus, which Obama said suggests slavery is OK and eating shellfish is an abomination, or Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, "a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application."

"Folks haven't been reading their Bibles," Obama said.

Dobson and Minnery accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus' teachings in the New Testament.

"I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology," Dobson said.

"... He is dragging biblical understanding through the gutter."

Cindy McCain is again hitting back at Michele Obama for a snippet of a speech that Michele gave about being 'proud of her country.' I've heard this snippet over and over again and I've also heard directly from the horses mouth what she meant by the comment.

Seems Cindy McCain doesn't know why she would say she wasn't proud of her country. Now let me ask you this Mrs. McCain. Are you sure you're ready for the Obama surrogates to begin airing your dirty laundry---which by far is more interesting to the voting public than words of Michele's speech that were taken out of context.

The MSM said you had been vetted in 2000 during your husband's previous bid for the presidency. Well there are millions of new voters who have NOT been privvy to this vetting. If it was up to me, I would have had it spread all over the Web. I'm a 7th generation Arizona native so I know alot about you and your hubby. I believe it's necessary for this current generation to also see your past exploited all over the news just like you and your husband have done to the Obama's.

Hillary Clinton has been telling America that she is the most qualified Candidate for president based on her 'record,' which she says includes her eight years in the White House as First Lady - or 'co-president' - and her seven years in the Senate.
Here is a reminder of what that record includes:
- As First Lady, Hillary assumed authority over Health Care Reform, a process that cost the taxpayers over $13 million. She told both Bill Bradley and Patrick Moynihan, key votes needed to pass her legislation, that she would 'demonize' anyone who opposed it. But it was opposed; she couldn't even get it to a vote in a Congress controlled by her own party. (And in the next election, her party lost control of both the House and Senate.)
- Hillary assumed authority over selecting a female Attorney General. Her first two recommendations, Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood, were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. She then chose Janet Reno. Janet Reno has since been described by Bill himself as 'my worst mistake.'
- Hillary recommended Lani Guanier for head of the Civil Rights Commission. When Guanier's radical views became known, her name had to be withdrawn.
- Hillary recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster, and William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House staff, and the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned, Foster committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.
- Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies ("Filegate") and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 1996, both the drug use and Hillary's involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving seven presidents for over thirty years.
- In order to open "slots" in the White House for her friends the Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), Hillary had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were reported to the FBI for 'gross Mismanagement' and their reputations ruined. After a thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with a crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks. The jury acquitted him in less than two hours.
- Another of Hillary's assumed duties was directing the 'bimbo eruption squad' and scandal defense:
---- She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit.
---- She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs.
---- Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after all.
---- And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury
---- And Bill was impeached by the House.
---- And Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, 'I do not recall,' 'I have no recollection,' and 'I don't know' 56 times under oath).
---- Hillary wrote 'It Takes a Village,' demonstrating her Socialist viewpoint.
---- Hillary decided to seek election to the Senate in a state she had never lived in. Her husband pardoned FALN terrorists in order to get Latino support and the New Square Hassidim to get Jewish support. Hillary also had Bill pardon her brother's clients, for a small fee, to get financial support.
----- Then Hillary left the White House, but later had to return $200,000 in White House furniture, China, and artwork she had stolen.
----- In the campaign for the Senate, Hillary played the 'woman card' by portraying her opponent (Lazio) as a bully picking on her. (hmmm.....sound familiar?)
----- Hillary's husband further protected her by asking the National Archives to withhold from the public until 2012 many records of their time in the White House, including much of Hillary's correspondence and her calendars. (There are ongoing lawsuits to force the release of those records.)
---- As the junior Senator from New York, Hillary has passed no major legislation. She has deferred to the senior Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New Yorkers, even on the hot issue of medical problems of workers involved in the cleanup of Ground Zero after 9/11.
---- Hillary's one notable vote; supporting the plan to invade Iraq, she has since disavowed.
Quite a resume. Sounds more like an organized crime family's rap sheet.

Mrs. Clinton has disagreed with suggestions, made directly to her by a few friends recently, that her continued candidacy was deepening splits within the Democratic Party and damaging Senator Barack Obama’s chances of emerging as a formidable nominee. She has also disputed the notion that she was unintentionally fostering a racial divide with white voters in some states overwhelmingly supporting her.Rather, in private conversations and in interviews, Mrs. Clinton has begun asserting that she believes sexism, rather than racism, has cast a shadow over the primary fight, a point some of her supporters have made for months. So now, she is the victim of a "vast left wing conspiracy.

I find the words so difficult to come out right now---I'm in shock, I want to cry, I want to scream and most importantly I want to shout to the mountain tops that WE as Obama supporters will not stand for this sort of vulgar news being reported from FOX news or their employees.

I am spending all night and all day for however long it takes---to get this video out to every state in the union. It's enough that Hillary gives a lame excuse for her latest gaffe (I don't buy it!!) and hopefully by Monday the MSM will be all over it like flies on poop!

Well this latest one from FOX NEWS and their news correspondent Liz Trotta has got to be the 'icing on the cake.'

Please help me to get the video out to the entire world. Let them know what type of "unfair" and "unbalanced" program FOX NEWS really is. Liz Trotta is now branded as a piranha and should be dealt with in a severe manner that shows the entire country that WE will NOT tolerate this sort of behavior.

Clinton clemency flap a non-issue in Puerto Rico

The last time Puerto Rico played a starring role in mainland politics---the summer of 1999, when President Bill Clinton drew sharp criticism by offering clemency to 16 imprisoned Puerto Rican nationalists who belonged to an organization responsible for more than 100 bombings in the U.S. and Puerto Rico between 1974 and 1983.

At the time, Clinton was accused of attempting to curry favor with the large Puerto Rican community in New York, where Hillary Rodham Clinton was preparing to run for an open Senate seat. In response, the Republican-controlled House overwhelmingly passed a resolution stating, “President Clinton should not have offered or granted clemency to the FALN terrorists.” The political backlash proved severe enough that Mrs. Clinton, then the first lady, ended up publicly opposing her husband’s offer, saying she had nothing to do with it.

Yet for all the controversy surrounding the episode, nary a word is heard about it as Clinton and Barack Obama battle for the 63 delegates at stake in Puerto Rico’s primary.

"It’s a highly charged issue, but it has not been an issue in Puerto Rico [this year] because it is pretty far back and there has been a desire to get past that conflict,” said Kenneth McClintock, president of the Senate in Puerto Rico and co-chairman of Clinton’s campaign there.

A lot of people in Puerto Rico do not support what those people did, but they do believe the lengthy sentences were unjust. So they would rather just not talk about it. Nor would the Democratic candidates, neither of whom would have much to gain by revisiting the controversy.

In Clinton’s case, it would serve as a reminder of an episode she would rather forget. Back then, she was whipsawed between Puerto Rican leaders who were angered by her opposition to clemency and Republicans who viewed the clemency offer as a crass political maneuver designed to benefit her impending Senate campaign.

Asked to comment on the role the clemency affair might have in the Puerto Rico primary, Clinton spokesman Isaac Baker sidestepped the issue.

"Puerto Ricans share the concerns of all voters---turning this economy around, keeping our neighborhoods safe and providing quality health care to every Puerto Rican,” he wrote in an e-mail. “They know Hillary has the strength and experience to deliver real solutions to the challenges facing Puerto Rico.”

But Obama supporters in Puerto Rico have turned the Clinton administration record against Hillary Clinton, noting that former President Clinton cut tax credits to companies that do business in Puerto Rico---a move that some say hurt the local economy.

Puerto Rican Clinton supporters also cite Bill Clinton’s creation of the Community Oriented Policing Services program, which provided funding for many new police officers in Puerto Rico. Hillary Clinton has pledged to restore COPS funding cut by President Bush.

In the spring of 2007 Bill Clinton visited Puerto Rico on Hillary’s behalf, and earned $250,000 from their politicians.

He was planned to visit Luis Lloréns Torres residential housing. It should be known that all of the people who live there are extremely poor, needless to say that it is a high crime area. Bill Clinton’s "three strikes and you’re out" policy not only meant that the criminal would lose his or her own liberty, but the ENTIRE family would have to move out of the residence and locate elsewhere. Guess what? Most of the victims of that policy in Puerto Rico were in Lloréns Torres.

Then, he was supposed to visit the "Asociación de Industriales", an association of industry investors in Puerto Rico. Well ... they deeply resent the fact that despite their advice, Clinton eliminated all the benefits of Section 936 in Puerto Rico. The members of the Asociación de Industriales suffered heavy losses as manufactures in Puerto Rico located elsewhere.

Following that unfortunate event, he was supposed to visit Barceloneta, the municipality that suffered most of Clinton’s elimination of Section 936. Its poverty rate increases as more manufacturing industries keep locating overseas.

What does Clinton promise? That if his wife becomes President, she will reinstate the benefits to attract more American capital to Puerto Rico. Of course, this is nothing less than deception. Everyone who looks at the global economy knows that to place such incentives to benefit Puerto Rico alone would go against the best interests of NAFTA and other free trade treaties with Latin American countries.

The only way Puerto Rico could do this is if eventually Congress gives it power to establish treaties world wide, contract those ships that we want, and establish commerce throughout the region, trade with the U.S., trade with European countries, trade with Asia, and so on. In other words, the only possible incentive for Puerto Ricans is to be able to have as much political and economic powers we can, either in the form of a sovereign free association with the U.S. (which is recognized by International Law), or independence.

To hope that in our current status, Hillary or any candidate to the presidency will give us any incentives to attract American capital, is like waiting for Christ’s Second Coming: people always say it’s close, and he doesn’t arrive.

Her husband, for one, seems to have a pretty clear idea what he thinks she should get as a consolation prize. In Bill Clinton's view, she has earned nothing short of an offer to be Obama's running mate, according to some who are close to the former President. Bill "is pushing real hard for this to happen," says a friend. "It's as plain as the nose on your face that this whole thing has shifted to a different mode," says a top Clinton strategist. "But I don't know what she wants. I don't know what she's thinking."

When it seemed there was no way Senator Clinton could pull out the numbers to win the nomination for president, she pressured the DNC to seat the FLA and MI delegates. Obama thinks it's only fair to split the votes since there was no campaigning allowed in FLA. Senator Clinton emphatically said NO WAY! She wants 100%. Senator Clinton is now pressuring Senator Obama to make her the VP.

If Senator Obama gives her the VP slot, his entire campaign will be a sham! His message of "hope" and "change" will mean nothing more than that of a political slogan.

Senator Clinton is a juggernaut whose name should be applied to one of the tornedos in the midwest.

Michigan Democratic Party to Present Delegate Appeal to DNC

LANSING—The executive committee of the Michigan Democratic Party yesterday overwhelmingly approved the proposal set forth by the Delegate Working Group of Sen. Carl Levin, Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick, Debbie Dingell, and Ron Gettelfinger.

The proposal allocates Michigan's 128 elected delegates 69 Clinton, 59 Obama. This splits the difference between the January 15th results supported by the Clinton Campaign, which would create a delegates allocation of 73-55, and the 50-50 split supported by the Obama campaign, which would create a 64-64 allocation of the delegates.

“This resolution meets the main criteria that we set forth for a resolution. It is a negotiated solution that recognizes the results of the January 15th primary while taking into consideration that Obama’s name was not on the ballot. This proposal seats a full Michigan delegation and gives all delegates the same voting power," said Mark Brewer, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party. “This is a good step toward a solution that unites Democrats and ensures that our state will not face a McCain presidency and four more years of the failed Bush trade and economic policies that have devastated our state.”

This proposal will be filed as a formal appeal to the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee. Joel Ferguson has agreed to support this plan and will withdraw his original appeal.

In addition to approving the above proposal, the MDP also moved its State Central Committee Meeting previously scheduled for May 17 to June 14. A location has not yet been determined.

Joint Fundraising Agreement Signed

As part of the agreement, a new entity, "Democratic White House Victory Fund," has been formed. The fund will allow both candidates to raise money for the Party, forming one joint fundraising committee account that will accept money for the nominee's primary and general election and for the DNC.

"The Democratic Party is incredibly fortunate to have two strong candidates who have generated transformational enthusiasm across the country. We've seen historic turnout as new voters have come out to show their support for our candidates and fundraising numbers have been through the roof," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "While this is a close primary, at the end of the day both of our candidates understand that this election is about the future of our country. Clinton's Newest 527 Group Cheating The System???

The American Leadership Project (ALP) is Senator Clinton's latest endorser. ALP is an unincorporated association organized under section 527 of the IRS code formed in February 2008 in order to highlight issues of importance to the American middle class, such as the economy, jobs, the rising cost of health care, and the mortgage crisis.

The ALP's message focus in the state of Indiana has been anti-Barack Obama without mention of any other Presidential candidate. As of March 5, the group had raised $1.2 million, including a one million dollar contribution from AFSCME, a labor union backing Clinton.

Their first television advertisement stated, "If speeches could create jobs, we wouldn't be facing a recession," mirroring Clinton, who has argued that Obama's eloquence would not lead to real policy change.

The group actually aired $833,000 worth of pro-Clinton television ads in Texas and Ohio and had $300,000 left in the bank according to FEC filings on March 5.

The law forbids such groups to coordinate with the campaign so is Senator Clinton in violation of election law?

Fred Wertheimer, president of Democracy 21, a campaign finance reform group, said of ALP, "This pop-up 527 group clearly has been created to spend unlimited soft money to influence the presidential election. As far as the "duck test" goes, it looks like a campaign ad; it sounds like a campaign ad; it's a campaign ad.

Subodh Chandra, a lawyer in Ohio and Obama supporter filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, calling on them to open an investigation, shut down the organization and seek criminal penalties against its directors and donors. He said the new organization allows Mrs. Clinton's backers to "cheat the system" by paying for their own ads for Mrs. Clinton even though they have already donated the maximum $2,300 allowed by law to her campaign. It took three years for the FEC to settle similar complaints lodged against independent political entities operating in the 2004 election.

Democratic presidential candidate Senator Mike Gravel filed his own lawsuit against the ALP in Ohio federal court, requesting that the organization be barred from airing a television ad in Ohio before the Ohio primary.

Paul Rivera, a senior political adviser and a former Clinton/Gore White House staffer is a director of ALP along with Roger Salazar, who also worked as assistant press secretary in the Clinton/Gore White House.

"The ALP will not coordinate with a candidate or a candidate’s committee, so contributions to ALP will not count as contributions to the candidate." Very interesting statement from ALP. Their new ad is running in Oregon and is the ONLY candidate they are supporting on their website. ALP's only concern seems to be the "middle class." Wonder if this includes the "hard working, WHITE blue-collar" workers??

Clinton Backers Organize To Protest Sexism

Democrat Hillary Clinton’s supporters in Ohio and three other crucial swing states in the presidential election - Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan - have organized to protest what they consider to be her unfair treatment, particularly from the Democratic Party.

The group, “Clinton Supporters Count Too”, held a press conference on Thursday, May 15, in downtown Columbus.

“We are a grassroots group of mostly women, all races, all demographics, that have reached the boiling point and have decided we cannot stand by and watch the huge amount of sexism and misogyny go unremarked,” Cynthia Ruccia of Bexley, a Columbus suburb, who’s part of the group in Ohio, said before the press conference.

The group has no connection to the Clinton campaign, said Ruccia.

At the press conference, the group will announce plans to campaign through the four swing states against the Democratic candidate for president if it’s not Clinton, a press release said.

Cynthia Ruccia has been involved in numerous controversial issues throughtout her career.

In Columbus, Ohio for almost 14 years it had passed without comment that the local Congressman, John Kasich, the powerful chairman of the House Budget Committee, stretches his paycheck by sharing a Virginia townhouse for the two or three nights a week that Congress was in session.

His housemate? His male chief of staff. Cynthia Ruccia, Kasich's Democratic challenger at one time, called for a Justice Department investigation of what she said was "a serious appearance of impropriety" because Kasich, who is divorced, lived with someone whose government salary he controls.

That was the official question. What it unofficially implied was that the two men might be otherwise involved. Kasich's office inevitably found itself having to deny that either man is gay.

"It was the worst sort of gutter politics and gay baiting," says Bob Fitrakis, Kasich's 1992 Democratic opponent.

Ruccia and a 'friend' appeared on O'Reilly's factor tonight screaming "FOUL." FOX NEWS must have been the only media outlet to grant them airtime to voice their empty rhetoric. As a female I'm embarrassed and ashamed of these women. They talk of boycotting NBC because of the "biased" reporting against Senator Clinton. How ironic that they would mention NBC on the O'Reilly Factor since it's well known they aren't the 'best' of friends.

Why now?? EDWARDS name was on the W VA ballot and received 7% of the vote. Granted, Senator Obama was NOT going to win W VA but don't you think he could have rec'd those 7% if Edwards would have endorsed sooner?

What's the motive, especially when his wife, Elizabeth was a Hillary supporter. Will Edwards campaign besides Obama in the remaining few states or will Senator Obama just focus on the general election?

The political pundits are reporting that Senator Obama can not win the 'blue-collar" worker. Here is the definition of "blue-collar" and see if you fit the description. It fits me, and I am NOT white but hispanic/american indian.

"A Blue-collar worker is a member of the working class who performs manual labor and earns an hourly wage. Blue-collar workers are distinguished from those in the service sector and from white-collar workers, whose jobs are not considered manual labor.

I find it rather insulting that it's being reported that Senator Obama will need someone "white" next to him to win controversial states like Fla and W VA against Senator McCain. Excuse me, but last I remembered there were FIFTY STATES!

All this focus on Fla and MI is a slap in the face to all those other states that followed the rules of the DNC. There should be NO bartering when it comes to breaking rules. Hillary would be all over Senator Obama if this was reversed. She can break the rules but don't YOU dare break them! Senator Clinton said she would NOT split the votes....she wants them ALL. Well la ti da Mrs. Clinton....you signed the rule in effect so deal with it.

"Will the Illinois Democrat pick someone with expertise in foreign policy or national defense to offset his lack of experience?" Experience?!? I shutter to think about Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush's foreign policy experience.

I read where they say they don't have the money to fill their gas tanks but they will sacrifice it and walk in order to help Senator Clinton "win." HELP!! I'm beginning to think like a Clinton supporter. Arrrgggghhh!!!! *$#@! If for some catastrophic reason Senator Clinton wins the democratic nomination, I WILL NOT vote for her in the general election....period! Trust me....I have a very viable reason not to. Let me refresh your memories and see if you agree with me.

#1. Consider what her experience has been. She burst forth on the national stage with two tasks in her husband’s administration: the selection of the nation’s first female attorney general and the design and adoption of a comprehensive program of healthcare reform. Her efforts to designate an attorney general hamstrung the new administration for months as two successive nominees had to withdraw their names from consideration. Finally, at the eleventh hour, she urged her husband to appoint Florida’s Janet Reno, a selection Bill Clinton would come to describe as “my worst mistake.”

#2. Her other selections for the Justice Department, the White House staff and the Treasury were her three law partners: Web Hubbell, Vince Foster and William Kennedy, appointments that culminated in one imprisonment, one suicide and one forced resignation.

#3. Her main focus in Bill's administration was scandal defense, from Gennifer Flowers and Whitewater to the FBI file affair, the travel office firings, her commodities-market winnings, the missing Rose Law Firm billing records and the Paula Jones scandal.

#4. Hillary counseled Bill not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit even when the plaintiffs called for neither an apology nor payment, and she who stonewalled the release of Whitewater documents even when it led to the appointment of a special prosecutor. When the prosecutor whose appointment she had effected heard about the depositions in the Paula Jones case she had refused to settle, the Monica Lewinsky scandal eventuated.

#5. Her experience continued when her race for the Senate and its aftermath became, in turn, mired in scandal. The pardon of the FALN terrorists to get Latino support in New York, that of the New Square Hassidim to get Hillary Jewish support, and the clemency shown toward Hillary’s brothers’ clients to get them financial support caused her ratings to plunge to their lowest level in March of 2001 as she took her Senate seat.

#6. The theft of White House gifts, almost $200,000 of which had to be returned, did nothing to endear her to the electorate.

#7. She has passed no important legislation, except for bills congratulating Alexander Hamilton, Shirley Chisolm, Harriet Tubman, the American Republic, and the Syracuse lacrosse teams on their respective accomplishments.

#8. Hillary Clinton seems to be willing to say whatever it takes to get elected. Hillary Clinton is a liberal in the sense that she is pro-civil rights, pro-free speech, pro-gay rights, pro-progressive taxation and pro-health care but I don’t find her to be nearly as liberal as she is often thought to be. My larger problem with Clinton is that she too often goes against what she really seems to believe for the sake of political capital.
#9. Hillary Clinton has the potential for polarizing America more than any president since George W. Bush.

For all the hope and excitement Obama's candidacy is generating, some of his field workers, phone-bank volunteers and campaign surrogates are encountering a raw racism and hostility that have gone largely unnoticed -- and unreported -- this election season. Doors have been slammed in their faces. They've been called racially derogatory names (including the white volunteers). And they've endured malicious rants and ugly stereotyping from people who can't fathom that the senator from Illinois could become the first African American president.

The contrast between the large, adoring crowds Obama draws at public events and the gritty street-level work to win votes is stark. The candidate is largely insulated from the mean-spiritedness that some of his foot soldiers deal with away from the media spotlight.

Victoria Switzer, a retired social studies teacher, was on phone-bank duty one night during the Pennsylvania primary campaign. One night was all she could take: "It wasn't pretty." She made 60 calls to prospective voters in Susquehanna County, her home county, which is 98 percent white. The responses were dispiriting. One caller, Switzer remembers, said he couldn't possibly vote for Obama and concluded: "Hang that darky from a tree!"

According to you Senator Clinton, you don't pay much attention to polls yet lately you've been taking them as gospel. Polls are meaningless when only a scant few are polled. Prime example is FOX NEWS. On all of their nightly shows they conduct a poll that can be found on their website. Now tell me, aren't the only ones who take your polls your viewers and the rightwing loonies?? How can you get a "fair and balanced" poll from that?

Because of the Clinton's thirst for power, chronic bout of narcissism and inability to handle losing, Hillary Clinton will do more damage to the democratic party and especially the human races that make up this country than in the time it took them to come into the entire political scene some 30 plus years ago.

Unlike the Clinton's, the american people....ie.....black, white, asian, hispanic etc. don't have to commit fraud or lie to their fellow man to get ahead in the world. We are ALL working-class americans who want so much to believe that we can start anew instead of the politics of old. We desparately need a new beginning and I believe in my heart of hearts that Senator Obama will lead us there. He's the only one who has shown true honesty in this campaign. Remember that!

Unifying the Democratic Party

I read a recent blog here where an Obama supporter is asking for us to embrace the 'Hillary' supporters, to play nice and to welcome them into the Obama family to unify the democratic party. I wholeheartedly agree that both sides need to be unified going in to the general election but I think their leader Sen. Clinton needs to demonstrate, and in an emphatic way, to her supporters that Senator Obama WILL be the nominee and they need to support him fully. Senator Clinton can not win the nomination no matter how many times you roll the dice. The math just does not work in her favor-----even if you include the MI and FLA votes. A significant amount of her supporters think Senator Obama was at fault for the MI and FLA fiasco.....it was NOT. Read their comments.

These are statements from the Clinton supporters from last night and this morning. They see an entirely different Obama campaign than what we are. Number one---this campaign has never been deceitful nor partook in pandering.

In my own opinion, those Clinton supporters who want to support Senator Obama in the general election are more than welcome to join us in paving the path to the White House. To those who are voting for Sen. McCain because Hillary lost the nomination, they weren't true supporters of the democratic party so all is not lost. We will still prevail because we are an "elite" group that deal in honesty, integrity and have the true spirit of the democratic party.

It is up to Senator Clinton now how she wants to be perceived in the history books. Is she continuing the race because she truly thinks she can have the superdelegates overturn the will of the people by beating the drum that she's the best candidate or is it because she has a duel-agenda (hers and Bill's) to get back in the White House and doesn't really care about the democratic party? Actions speak louder than words.....so we'll see how she performs her last bow.

I am so disgusted with the way the SD's have done the 'drip, drip' dance I will no longer register as a democrat. In fact, I have given up on our gov't to do the right thing and try to turn this country around in a positive direction. I've been driven to be literally sick by reading supposed "news" from the MSM by their biased reporting.

To focus their soul attention on an issue that was fueled by the rightwing neocons AND one of our supposed democrat leaders is appalling. Hillary Clinton has not been vetted---I repeat---HAS NOT been vetted. Peter Paul lawsuit, Blumenthal DWI and his 'secret' mission to sabotage Sen. Obama are important issues that the MSM and YOU needed to focus on and report.

Because of the length of time the SD's have decided to come out with their choice of a candidate you have LOST thousands, maybe millions of dedicated and supportive democrats.

Mark my words----before the weekend is over, Senator Clinton will lead (not by the voters decision) in every poll the MSM airs on their networks, prints in their papers or posts on their websites. There are illegal activities being done by the Clinton campaign and you are turning a blind eye.

Hillary requests $2.3 BILLION in Earmarks!!

Senator Hillary Clinton has requested nearly $2.3 billion in federal earmarks for the next fiscal year. That's almost three times the largest amount received by a single senator during this current fiscal year. Earmarks are funding requests for those so-called pet projects that lawmakers usually award to their own constituency.

And while Clinton has asked for $750,000 for a Homeland Security grant program and another $125 million for an urban security initiative, it is not clear what exactly those grants would pay for. But her office defended the requests saying the money is needed after a reduction in the Bush administration's budget proposal that left localities "ill prepared to prevent another major terrorist attack."

Her presidential rivals Barack Obama and John McCain have not asked for any pet project funds this year. Meanwhile, Obama has released all of his earmark requests since being elected to the Senate in 2004 and has criticized Clinton for not disclosing her earmark history.

Let's see----the Clinton's don't want to disclose Hillary's White House records, Bill Clinton doesn't want to release his records to the public that are at the Presidential Library in Arkansas and he also does not want to name the list of donors who funded his foundation---the William J. Clinton Foundation.

I was born and raised in Arizona so I am quite familiar with Sen. McCain and how he handles controversy in and out of his personal life. Here's how he dealt with one aspect of his life that had to do with his wife Cindy. His attitude and temperament remind me alot of Pres. Bill Clinton.........need I say more?? In January of 1993 John McCain terminated Tom Gosinski's employment on grounds of budgetary reasons. In the spring of 1993, Gosinski tipped off the Drug Enforcement Administration to investigate Cindy McCain's drug theft, and a federal investigation ensued. McCain's defense team, led by Washington lawyer John Dowd secured an agreement with the U.S. Attorney''s office that limited her punishment to financial restitution and enrollment in a diversion program without any public disclosure. Meanwhile, in early 1994 Gosinski filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against McCain, which he told her he would settle for $250,000. In April 1994, Dowd requested that Maricopa County officials investigate Gosinski for extortion. The Phoenix New times was about to publish a negatively-cast article about the whole affair. Cindy McCain pre-empted this by coming clean about her addiction.

I recently went to Sen. Clinton's website to see what the latest fabricated story (and there's a few there) was and found something very interesting. I clicked on "newsroom" and clicked on the latest "press release." I had to laugh at the type of "news" they were reporting.

“The bottom line is that one campaign really has engaged in a mean-spirited, unfair character attack on the other candidate -- but it has been Obama’s campaign, not ours. You would be hard-pressed to find significant analogues from our candidate, our senior campaign officials or our advertising to the direct personal statements that the Obama campaign has made about Clinton.”

“From the beginning, I wondered what Mr. Obama’s soaring rhetoric, his talk of a new politics and declarations that ‘we are the ones we’ve been waiting for’ (waiting for to do what, exactly?) would mean to families troubled by lagging wages, insecure jobs and fear of losing health coverage. The answer, from Ohio and Pennsylvania, seems pretty clear: not much. Hillary Clinton's website is nothing but a negative blog to attack Sen. Obama. My main point to this blog is that I noticed one important item she added to her website. She added a link www.oregondebate.com to her website BUT....if you click on it, it takes you directly to HER website. This only reiterates to me that she is conniving, controlling and a chronic fabricator in order to focus on her own agenda. I doubt she'll make it to the Oregon primary anyway. She'll be toast at the end of NC and Indiana....but then again she has been known to "fudge" in her campaign.

Remember when Sen. Obama's website supposedly got "hacked?" Well I wouldn't be surprised if the Clintonites had something to do with it. This latest link she put up just sealed it for me. Imo, I think it's SHADY!

WASHINGTON (AP) — A plan to award half-delegates for the disputed Michigan and Florida Democratic presidential primaries will get a hearing before party leaders. The co-chairs of the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws committee sent members a memo Friday announcing a meeting May 31 to consider the idea.The committee stripped Michigan and Florida of their national convention delegates because they held primaries too early. DNC members in Michigan and Florida have filed challenges to restore the delegates. Under the challenges, all superdelegates from both states would get to vote. The pledged delegates would only count for half votes. Hillary Rodham Clinton won both contests and has been pushing for the delegates to be seated. Her rival Barack Obama has said it isn't fair to award delegates based on the votes because all the candidates agreed to boycott the contests and his name wasn't on Michigan's ballot. Most of the Democratic candidates had their names removed, but Clinton left hers on. Forty percent of Michigan voters chose "uncommitted" rather than vote for Clinton. Obama's supporters have suggested splitting the delegates evenly would be a fair way to handle it, since all sides want to see delegates from the two important swing states participate in the convention. Both states, knowing the potential penalty, held their primaries earlier than party rules allowed to try have more influence in the nominating process that long has been dominated by early voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. Few figured the campaign would last as long as it has, and now that Clinton and Obama are so close in the delegate race, both states want to help choose the nominee. Michigan lost 128 pledged delegates and 28 superdelegates, for a total of 156. Florida lost 185 pledged and 25 superdelegates, or a total of 210. If it were valid, Florida's election would have given Clinton 105 delegates to Obama's 67. Michigan's would have given Clinton 73 delegates, while 55 were uncommitted. That means awarding half-delegates would give Clinton 89 more delegates and Obama 33.5, with 27.5 uncommitted.

Barack Obama will be giving an interview on FOX NEWS this Sunday with Chris Wallace. My gosh, haven't we all felt the pain from the recent attacks from the last ABC debate? What is this interview going to prove besides to echo the sentiments of the MSM that Obama is unelectable and a person who hasn't been forthright on issues such as Wrightgate, bittergate, Michelegate, lapelpingate and who knows what else they'll come up with. Did you already forget how much the FOX NEWS pundits despise you?? Bill O'Reilly admitted he is going to keep the Pastor Wright story alive all the way until November and on numerous occasions spends almost his entire show attacking you. Then there's the typical bully, Sean Hannity. He's out to literally destroy you! It's almost an obsession he has. Neil Cavuto, Brit Hume, Karl Rove, New Gingrich and Geraldo Rivera wouldn't pull you out of a burning building! In my opinion, doing this interview will be the end of your lead to the White House. She burst forth on the national stage with two tasks in her husband’s administration: the selection of the nation’s first female attorney general and the design and adoption of a comprehensive program of healthcare reform. Her efforts to designate an attorney general hamstrung the new administration for months as two successive nominees had to withdraw their names from consideration. Finally, at the eleventh hour, she urged her husband to appoint Florida’s Janet Reno, a selection Bill Clinton would come to describe as “my worst mistake.” In the bargain, she suggested the appointment of Lani Guanier as head of the civil rights division, a job she was shortly forced to relinquish when her radical views became known — another embarrassment for the new administration. Her other selections for the Justice Department, the White House staff and the Treasury were her three law partners: Web Hubbell, Vince Foster and William Kennedy, appointments that culminated in one imprisonment, one suicide and one forced resignation.
Her other assignment, healthcare reform, was a debacle. Beyond these initial tasks, her main focus in the administration was scandal defense, from Gennifer Flowers and Whitewater to the FBI file affair, the travel office firings, her commodities-market winnings, the missing Rose Law Firm billing records and the Paula Jones scandal.
And her advice in handling these matters was uniformly bad. It was Hillary who counseled Bill not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit even when the plaintiffs called for neither an apology nor payment, and she who stonewalled the release of Whitewater documents even when it led to the appointment of a special prosecutor. When the prosecutor whose appointment she had effected heard about the depositions in the Paula Jones case she had refused to settle, the Monica Lewinsky scandal eventuated. Her experience continued when her race for the Senate and its aftermath became, in turn, mired in scandal. The pardon of the FALN terrorists to get Latino support in New York, that of the New Square Hassidim to get Hillary Jewish support, and the clemency shown toward Hillary’s brothers’ clients to get them financial support caused her ratings to plunge to their lowest level in March of 2001 as she took her Senate seat. The theft of White House gifts, almost $200,000 of which had to be returned, did nothing to endear her to the electorate.
Since then, Hillary has done nothing of note in the Senate except to vote for the Iraq War, a position she has since disavowed, and to win the applause of her colleagues for not being partisan and obstinate. Her main efforts have been directed at raising massive sums of money for herself and her colleagues and making a lot from writing and selling her memoirs. Her efforts on behalf of New York after Sept. 11, 2001, have been exposed as largely derivative of those of her colleague, the more effective Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.). She has passed no important legislation, except for bills congratulating Alexander Hamilton, Shirley Chisolm, Harriet Tubman, the American Republic, and the Syracuse lacrosse teams on their respective accomplishments.
Is this the experience upon which her candidacy is based? Did I leave anything out?

Why in the world would a liberal democrat go on Sean Hannity's program? I'll tell you why.....Lanny Davis had an interview with Hannity discussing Obama's relationship with the Rev. Wright and now Ayers. Seems that he wants more answers from Obama about the Rev. Wright. What the hell is there more to know?

Hannity was loving every moment that Lanny Davis was spewing his venom towards Obama. This guy is nothing but a weasel! Lanny Davis has his own interesting past and has no room to point fingers at Obama. He won the 1976 Democratic primary and was neck and neck with Republican Newton Steers until a controversy erupted over the portrayal of Davis's academic record in a campaign brochure. Davis claimed he had graduated from Yale Law School cum laude — a designation the school didn't award in 1970, the year he finished. Seems as though it's a requirement as a Clinton supporter to be a bonafide LIAR!

So I see the MSM hasn't let up on Obama from last night's debacle and the Clinton camp is salivating at the mere mention of the words "vetting."

I keep telling myself it will be over soon but in all honesty it feels as if it's an eternity. Thank goodness the Presidential election only comes around every 4 years. My hope is that the new administration will completely overhaul the election process and cut down the length of campaigning. This is getting to a point where tempers flare, not only with the candidates but with the general public.

The notion that there is guilt by association is ludicrous. If the Clinton campaign and their cronies (FIX NEWS, ABC...ETC) seriously think this is a valid point, then let's talk about the "guilt."

In 2006 on Meet the Press, Hillary Clinton proclaimed that new vetting procedures had been been put in place to prevent her from taking money from sleaze merchants like Norman Hsu.

If you think you’ve heard that line before, you are right.

 IPA is being sued by the federal government’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for widespread sexual harassment. In a New York Times article May 7, 2006 titled, “Rubbing Shoulders with Trouble, and Presidents,” EEOC lawyer Diane Smason called the allegations “probably the most egregious” ever filed by the agency’s Chicago office. She said the investigation found that “sex harassment is the standard operating procedure for this company.” That case is pending in U.S. District Court.
 The Illinois Attorney General’s office has acknowledged publicly that it is investigating IPA for alleged fraud.
 The Better Business Bureau says IPA has an “unsatisfactory record” based on reoccurring complaints that total 427 in the last three years. The BBB has issued “alerts” in various states to warn businesses that IPA was soliciting work there.
 The company founder, John Burgess, is a convicted criminal, according to numerous published reports. He was convicted of attempted grand larceny and of soliciting a 16-year-old prostitute, those reports state. He was disbarred as a lawyer in New York state in July 1987 for “failing to answer charges which involved perjury, larceny, a conviction for patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute, possession of drugs and engaging in a pattern over a six-year period of lies and deceit,” according to The Lawyers Fund for Client Protection of New York state. Burgess also is named as a key defendant in the sexual harassment lawsuit.
 The company’s attorney, Myron “Mike” Cherry, also a contributor of yours, has been identified in published reports as “Individual H” in the Illinois criminal indictment of businessman Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Cherry has acknowledged in published reports that he was the conduit for some of the IPA campaign contributions.
 Already, politicians across the country have returned donations from IPA because of the company’s checkered past. Illinois Senator Barack Obama, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and former Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager are among those who have returned contributions from IPA.
We have made our fraud allegations in a federal racketeering lawsuit pending in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
Mrs. Clinton, we see from published reports that you have identified yourself as a champion for women’s rights and an advocate for small business owners. We cannot fathom, in light of those self-labels, how you could possibly accept campaign contributions from a company accused by the federal government of sexually harassing scores of women and one that has left behind a long trail of fraud complaints from small business owners. Do you believe the 114 women who were allegedly sexually harassed at IPA are not telling the truth about that harassment? Do you believe the Better Business Bureau is wrong? Do you think the state Attorney General is unjustified in her investigation of IPA?
We believe this is our concern because the campaign contributions you continue to accept came from the money that we believe was taken from us illegally. We do not believe you should continue to further your political career with such tainted cash.
We are not singling you out in this request. We plan to make the same request to other public officials who continue to accept and hold IPA-related campaign contributions. We wrote you first because you are running for President and certainly should be setting an example for other politicians.

I am still reeling from last night's debacle (not a debate!) and just got done listening to Howard Dean feed me more BS on CNN about how the battle to find a nominee is no big deal and we should all just chill out! Does he even consider the voters who are sick and tired of being "sick and tired" of rehashing the same old crap day in and day out? Are they seriously considering going against the will of the people by nominating Sen. Clinton?? If that's the case, then they will destroy any semblance of the Democratic Party. Is that what their goal is?

The superdelegates will ultimately decide who the nominee is. Why then, are they not coming out NOW to show their support for either candidate? Only the superdelegate count is in Hillary's favor and by a nominal amount. This is such BS! Two months ago the pundits said Hillary couldn't win without the help of the superdelegates....no matter what happened in the remaining states.

My question is WHY people think Hillary would make such a great president. I just don't get it! Anytime a person has to change who they are by painting a picture that isn't in contrast with their true character, is weak, insecure and an imposter. That leads me to think they would have no problem duping the american public without batting an eye. This part scares the hell out of me!

Do they even consider the fact that BILL will again occupy the White House? The White House has taken on a scarlet color for the last 10 years. Which color paint are we going to buy come Nov? The United States was made a mockery of by these two politicians. They've had only ONE goal to achieve in their livetimes....money and POWER! That's what fuels them no matter the cost.

WE MUST EDUCATE ALL those who are going to be on TV supporting Barack Obama. I was embarrassed by Texas State Senator Kirk Watson's gaffe on MSNBC post-election program last night. Watson was on to talk about his support of Senator Obama alongside Representative Stephanie Tubbs (D-OH), who backs Senator Clinton. Watson has endorsed Obama and writes about all the things Obama will do for the country. He was unable to answer Chris Matthew's most basic demand: "Name some of his legislative accomplishments... name any..." Watson could not name a single one. We can't let this happen! Get some facts out to everybody about Obama's accomplishments. Post on blogs, send emails, talk about them. "Hardball" host Chris Matthews (who is, it turns out, as ferocious as they say), began grilling me on Senator Obama's legislative record.

And my mind went blank. I expected to be asked about the primary that night, or the big one coming up in Texas on March 4, or just about anything else in the news.
