Voter-Suppression Website

Senator Obama and supporters,

We need a voter-suppression website to go live immediately. We need a one-stop-shop for people to document via video, images, and audio their experiences at the polls. The website should serve to inform people of their rights (state-by-state) and provide a forum for people to document their own encounters with voter-suppression efforts in their communities and at the polls. Please, we need this site badly. We should tell all voters to bring some type of recording device with them to the polls---a videocamera, camera, or digital/tape recorder---so if they run into problems at the polls they can document their experiences. We also need a central database to document voter suppression efforts across the country, so we have evidence to amount a legitimate legal challenge if necessary. With all of the tech-savy people supporting Barack for President, we should be able to get this done relatively quickly. It is vitally important that we get this site live as soon as possible.

I cast my ballot (absentee) for Barack Obama!!!

Senator (err President!) Obama,

Thank you for inspiring the nation. I have officially sent in my absentee ballot, and I am praying that you are elected the next President of the United States. It has been a rough two years, but you are clearly the best candidate for the job. You have tapped into the consciousness of America---our hopes and dreams, rather than our fears and concerns. Thank you for being so inspiring, and I hope you continue to challenge the American people to think creatively about how we can become a more perfect union.

Offically Boycotting Donating to Obama Until August b/c of FISA Vote

Sorry Barack, but I won't be donating any more money to you during the month of July because you really disappointed me with you vote on FISA. I will not pretend that I won't vote for you in the fall, because to be honest the alternative is scary (McBush), but don't expect any money from me until after you are officially nominated at the Convetion. My money will be donated to help put A DEMOCRAT in the White House.

Stop Letting the Right Define You

Senator Obama, it is time for you to stop standing by idly while Conservatives define you. You have been under attack since you entered this race, but you are falling into their trap by moving toward the center. When you began, you mobilized the masses by running on a campaign credo of change, but the Republicans are now branding you a "typical politician" as you try to make good with swing voters across America. STOP! Please!!! People like me saw your candidacy as one of hope for a new direction. We believed you when you said you would have our troops out of Iraq in 16 months. We believed you when you said that you would resist the FISA Amendments if the Telecoms were granted immunity. We believed your message. We believed your vision. Most importantly, Senator Obama we believed you. Now, as you move toward the center in an effort to attract "swing" voters, many of us are beginning to feel disaffected with the political process. What happened to the leader who was going to bring about change in Washington? Where is the Junior Senator who promised to listen to the voices of America and respond to our cries for help? Why are you abandoning the very people who put you in the position you are in? If we wanted politics as usual we would have nominated Hilary Clinton. But we want CHANGE. We want real change. Senator Obama, we want the kind of change that will make America a "more perfect Union." You will continue to inspire people whether you adhere to the political noise demanding that you move to the center or stay true to the principles and policies that mobilized people like me. Either way, we are all grateful for your candidacy and your leadership. We only ask that you do not forget from whence you came. Remember how you got where you are now. Whatever you do, please continue to be the man who inspired a nation and responded to people's hunger for change.

FISA

I am so disappointed in the Junior Senator from Illinois. Here I am thinking he is really going to change the way Washington does business and the first chance he gets he lets Washington get the best of him. I am a first-time donor to any political campaign--I've contributed $80 so far and was committed to contributing a lot more. I cannot, however, contribute anymore to Senator Obama financially if he will not stand up against the Telecoms in an effort to uphold the Constitution. Senator Obama has become an instant role model to me and my family. He has paved the way for African Americans in this country to rise to the highest level of leadership. I will continue to support him, but the level of enthusiasm will be tempered if he does not stand by his word and oppose FISA.
