I Won't Say I'm Slacking (on the blog)

We've been busy, busy, busy here in Harrisonburg Va. Camron Gorguinpour, the Field Organizer that our county has been blessed with (he's from Cali), has opened a new Obama office in Luray!

If you're native to the area you may think, 'What the heck do we need an Obama office in Luray for?' Well, that show just how strong the grassroots campiagn truly is in this area. The Luray office is being run soley by volunteers and they've made over 1500 phone calls to voters in their city and surrounding towns in the FIRST WEEK!

The Northwestern Region of Virginia (Shenandoah, August, and Page counties) is LEADING THE STATE in the number of voters that we call daily. It's incredible. I'm from Harrisonburg. I grew up here, and I just would not have thought that so many people in this area could care enough about a man like Barack Obama to effectively organize themselves with the goal of encouraging others to vote.

YOU'RE AWESOME HARRISONBURG, STAUNTON, WINCHESTER AND LURAY! PLEASE CONTINUE TO AMAZE ME!

Keep the Energy Up!

In a conversation I had earlier tonight with my dad, the full Impact of this election truly came into perspective. He said "What better a time in American History to be young (in your twenties)". He's so right. The 60's was an awsome decade becasue young people were a part of a movement that elevated human responsibility to a new frontier. Now more than 40 years later we are faced with a similar opportunity but much freer. Freer in the sense that intense emotions of fear and hate are not factoring into the equation quite so heavily as with race relations in the 60's. This go round, we are confronted with issues that again speak to the thought process of equality in everyday American life, but instead of race equality and sexual liberation this time we're working toward financial justice and the return to our system of Checks and Balances. The word Fair in this Movement bears the weight of the word Freedom in the 60's.

With the same passion and vibration as Dr. Martin Luther King let me say to the world, "LET FAIRNESS RING!!" Lol!

Protest 1970 Obama in Berlin 2008

80's Babies for Obama!

I think Obama appeals to young people because he suggests that we can change the world. The way politics have been conducted in the past is not the way they must be conducted in the future! That's exciting, inspiring and just over all better for me, and the rest of the world (even little ole Harrisonburg, who seems to be petrified of change).

Copy and past the link below to see a very inspirational video from 80's babies all over the country!

http://www.dipdive.com/dip-politics/wato/

Campaign for Change HeadQuarters Opens Downtown Harrisonburg

Hello World!

Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County are very fortunate to have a Presidential Elect Headquarters open locally to specifically serve our communities needs. The deal is that Norther VA, Norfolk/ Hampton (757) and the greater Richmond area have shown statistically (in the primaries) that there is a very good chance of these districts voting Democratic in November. The western part of our state, however, needs a little more help. So the Obama Campaign in addition to opening offices in 19 other places in VA, opened one here in Downtown Harrisonburg! 124 Main St. Across the street from Dave's Taverna! I've never been more thrilled with Harrisonburg's progressive thinkers, than last Saturday the 19th. When over 250 people showed up to the Grand Opening.

Mitch Stewert The campaign director for the state of Virginia graced us with his presence and gave a few words of encouragement.
From Obama HQ - Ha...
