Musicians4Obama and friends weigh in on common issues of importance in supporting Obama's race to the White House.

Rep. James Clyburn Endorses Obama

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House majority whip, the top ranking African-American in Congress, said Tuesday he will support Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential race.

Rep. James Clyburn had been neutral in the race between the front-running Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton, the former first lady.

"I believe the nomination of Senator Obama is our Party's best chance for victory in November, and our nation's best hope for much needed change," Clyburn said in a statement. "Senator Obama brings a new vision for our future and new voters to our cause. He has created levels of energy and excitement that I have not witnessed since the 1960's."

MOVING THE GOAL LINE IN THE 4TH QUARTER

Last night, Hillary Clinton won the West Virginia primary. In her victory speech she said she was continuing in this race. She also indicated that she would "fight to seat the delegates" and count the votes "as they stand" in Florida and Michigan. Thus changing the number of delegates required to become the democratic nominee. This would constitute moving the goal line in the middle of the game.

Now more than ever it is important that we (Obama supporters) continue to work hard in the upcoming states and Puerto Rico. This is not the time to relax and take the nomination for granted. The media is saying the math is too daunting for Hillary Clinton to overcome. Bt the truth is, if Hillary Clinton is successfull in her mission to force the DNC to move the goal line (either through persuasion or a lawsuit), the math will change. The closer the math the more pressure will be applied to Barack Obama to choose her as his running mate. This race has been tough and Sen. Obama has emerged as a true leader. He has earned the right to choose whomever he feels would work best with him to carry out the agenda that he has set forth to the American People.

Don't stop making calls, sending postcards, volunteering in the upcoming states. Now is not the time to relax. Yes we can see the goal line but our opponent wants to move that goal line. Therefore, this is the time to step up our efforts and intensify our movement for change. SO CALL more, DONATE more, WRITE POSTCARDS more, WRITE TO more SUPER DELEGATES, VOLUNTEER more and REGISTER MORE VOTERS.

While Barack Obama begins to pursue his general election strategy let's work behind the scenes to solidify his lead and nullify Hillary's attempt to move the goal line in the 4th quarter.

The number of Americans who believe the country is ready for a black president is rising, a poll out Thursday suggested. More than three quarters, 76 percent, of respondents in a CNN/Essence Magazine/Opinion Research Corp. poll said the country is ready to be led by an African-American, up 14 points since December 2006.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/03/poll.black.president/index.html

** AMERICA IS READY FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA **

Did Hillary Lie?

By now you have all heard that a recently found videotape of HRC 1996 trip to Bosnia is stirring up the question, "Did Hillary Clinton Lie?"

A few weeks ago, Hillary Clinton recounted a trip to Bosnia in 1996 as evidence of her involvement in foreign affairs while she was first lady. HRC was trying to make the case that not only did she gain valuable experience but she also went into some very dangerous places back when her husband was president. She explained how she landed under heavy gunfire. A recently found video of the first Lady arriving and disembarking from her plane showed routine fanfare minus the gunfire. In fact, everyone looked pretty relaxed as a little girl recited poetry for Mrs. Clinton on the tarmac.

What do You think? Did HRC Lie?

She says she "misspoke!"

I just call it insight into her personality -- She'll say anything to get elected.

SELF-IMPOSED SEGREGATION NOW!

As the director of a Music School, I have seen a lot of things that bear witness to what Barack was talking about Yesterday in his speech entitled, "A More Perfect Union." We run an After School Performing Arts Program. So we have to pick children up from their schools everyday.

One day, one of our drivers was sick so I had to pick up kids from various schools. As I pulled up to the first school (a middle school), I looked around and noticed something interesting and alarming. As the bell rang and the children emerged from the building, I began to notice that, with only a few exceptions, they almost all walked out of the building in segregated groups of like ethnicity. First a small group of Latino kids walked out together, then a group of African American kids would walk out together. I watched amazed as this not only continued to happen at this school, but I soon discovered that as I made my way through the route, this happened at every school that I visited. These are children who have already been taught to segregate themselves form other racial groups. A Self-Imposed segregation some 40+ years after the 1960's struggles for racial equality and harmony.

We've got to take a look at this and open up a dialogue. We need a leader like Barack Obama to begin the work of uniting Americans. We can no longer afford to ignore this situation.

Sahaja

United We Stand- pt. 2 - Thoughts on the Speech

Barack on America: FROM MANY ONE PEOPLE - AMERICANS

On Rev. Wright:I can not disown him just as I can not disown my white grandmother (who loved me) but once confessed her fear of black men who passed her on the streets. Wrights mistake was not in speaking about racism but in speaking as if the U.S. is irrevocably bound to it's past.

On the past: Lack of opportunity for black men contributed to the errosion of the black family. Bigoted policies still have lingering effects on the men and women of Rev. Wright's generation.

On the present: Memories of humiliation, doubt and fear have never gone away. The anger is real It is powerful. That anger may not get expressed in public but it is real. To simply wish it away widens the racial divide and is to distract attention from facing our own complicity.

The Future: We must form a coalition to move beyond some of our old wounds. We have no choice if we are to continue on the road to forming a more perfect union. We need to be our broter's keeper.

At this moment in this election we can say NOT THIS TIME. The children of America are not those kids they are our kids. This time the real concer is not that someone who does not look like you is gonna take your job, we have to talk about how to keep the government from shipping our jobs overseas.

This union may not be perfect but we must not give up on the qwest of perfecting that union.

Great story at the end - i am here because of Ashley.

THANK YOU BARACK - YOU WILL BE PRESIDENT #44 ...

... even if I have to write you in and vote for you.

AMERICA, LET'S ALL STAND IN THE MIRROR TODAY AND TAKE A SECOND LOOK.

United We Stand- pt. 1

It is 10:45 am Eastern Time and I am so excited as I await the start of this speech. I am watching YHarris on CNN having a discussion on Race in America. Melissa is stating that it is interesting that no other candidate has been made to take on this issue of race though it is an important issue for America. I have to say that I agree and want to add that America is at a serious crossroads at this time in her evolution. We as citizens need to embrace the candidacy of Barack Obama because it is forcing us to look in the mirror of truth. This candidacy is the going to make America come face to face with her past. United We Stand

Yes We Can!

He's on stage now, gotta go.

I will return with my thoughts after he speaks

OBAMA'S GRAND MAMA Speaks Out!

Have you read this. Obama's Kenyan Grandmother speaks out against the use of a picture of him with traditional Kenyan dress that was circulated by the Clinton Campaign as a statement that he is a muslim and a danger to the security of the US. She not only confirms that he is not a Muslim, she discloses that she is a Catholic.

Read all about it here:

http://news.aol.com/elections/story/_a/obamas-grandma-rips-campaign-tactics/20080305150509990001?ncid=NWS00010000000001

There are also two polls on this page which we are currently losing.

Please take the polls and vote for Obama and then pass this on to friends and family.

Thanks,

Sahaja

YOU NEED TO GET TO KNOW BARACK

Barack Obama just finished speaking in OHIO and I have to say he was in the zone today. He discussed the issues in depth in such a way that I learned some new facts on where he stands on the issues and gained valuable insight into his thought process.

I came away from this feeling confused as to why some people can not see the greatness in this man. I liked the way he kept it real, by suggesting that he is not a perfect vessel and will make mistakes but that he will always be honest with us about what is going on. He went on to say that it will not be easy to bring about change in America but that we will all have to work hard and come together to inspire America to discover new heights of her own Greatness.

I like the way he has stood up to HRC by addressing every cheap shot immediately, as not to be swift boated out of this nomination.

His stance on education and his ability to target what is wrong with our educational system is so on point. If anyone saw it, I loved his response to the young man who is a college student from Africa.

I would encourage undecideds and HRC supporters to stop listening to the media, other candidates and all the other chatter surrounding this election and take the time out to GET TO KNOW BARACK BEFORE YOU VOTE.

You need to listen to him speak and if you have an issue with his race then close your eyes and just listen. What you will hear is something that has been missing for a long time. Honesty, Integrity, Wisdom, Judgement, the truth about our present condition and a sincere desire and ability to lead by example and inspire real change in this country. I hope America is listening.

Don't let other people tell you where Barack stands on the issues and what is in his heart. Seek out the information for yourself. They need to visit this site and read his plan of action, listen to him speak and essentially ... GET TO KNOW BARACK!

PLEASE DONATE ON MY PAGE TO HELP BARACk BECOME OUR 44th PRESIDENT: http://my.barackobama.com/page/outreach/view/main/Musicians4Obama

Thanks,

Sahaja

McCain Was Not born in the USA

Did anyone see this article which states that McCain was not born in the United States which, according to the constitution, disqualifies him from being President of the United States.

Read about it here:

http://forthardknox.com/2008/02/09/mccain-not-eligible-to-be-president/

(You may have to copy and paste it into your browser.)

CNN just started talking about it today on American Morning but after I goggled it, it became apparent that it's been discussed by other news media for a few weeks.

This is the law -- it's a part of the constitution.

I am curious to see: How will they (republican party) get around that one?

Another question: Could that be why Huckabee is staying in the race?

Hence the statement, "I didn't major in math, I majored in miracles."

I just finished watching the debate and it could not be more clear to me that Obama had a great night.

Now we need to get to the phones this weekend and make calls to Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island to spread the word that Obama is the right choice to be our 44th president.

His ability to remain calm and cool regardless of what is happening around him is one of the traits that we need right now in a president. We do not need a hot head in the white house in these fragile times of war and economic crisis. It is very clear that he has the disposition of a president and commander in chief.

Now lets get to work AMERICA...

... Donate, Make calls, Talk to people you know and VOTE OBAMA!

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS ARTICLE

RE: An order by the Secret Service telling local police to stop screening people AT THE DOOR at Wednesday's Rally.

According to the article the order given by the secret service was meant to speed up the long lines outside. The Dallas Deputy Police Chief T.W.
Tanzania For Obama

By now you may have heard that during President Bush's trip to Tanzania there were people on the road with OBAMA 08 signs. I saw this on CNN. One of the native villagers interviewed said that Tanzanians are anxious to see Obama in the White House because he is a descendant of Africa and still has family in neighboring Kenya and also because they feel he would be compassionate and help the african people.

It was awesome!

They showed people waving homemade and (in some cases) what looked like official Obama 08 signs. To me that is a testament to the beilef that the whole world is watching us to see who Americans will elect. This is very important people, we have to work hard to help Obama become our next president.

MAKE AN EFFORT:

Join our group and become a friend, contribute to the campaign, volunteer your time...

...and most important -- VOTE OBAMA!
