The Obama "First" Club!!!!!!

I first created an account on this site back in February of 2007. For some strange reason I was immediately drawn to the very silly game of being the first post on a new thread. Great amounts of pleasure came from being able to say that one was "first" on a thread. Soon, however, the naysayers came out of the woodwork. They had legitimate concerns, I agree. This was a very important election, and some of us were not taking it seriously enough -- playing a childish game of claiming to be first. Who cares when there are very important issues to be discussed.

And yet, the more people protested, the more righteous I became. How dare they try to take my fun away when so many of us early "firsters" were diehard supporters, forgetting to feed our children, not doing laundry, or not even going to work because we were working so tirelessly for Barack Obama.

As I've always enjoyed being a host, I at some point (and I really wish I remember the date I started) decided that instead of arguing with the naysayers, I would just start being the official welcoming committee to the First Club. It was a great way to make friends, and I liked the Obama elistist aspect (just kidding) of not knowing about it unless you were lucky enough to make a first post.

Some brilliant person, who are you, decided after the constant negative attacks for those poor firster, that maybe people would not mind as much if the "first" would give a donation. This has seemed to quiet any negativity from playing the game.

The competition is much more fierce than it used to be (back in the day), but that makes victory just so much sweeter.

If you have received my message: Welcome to the Obama "First" Club!!!!! I hope you will feel immense pride and joy and will accept my friendship. You are among many "elite" supporters. I would love to know how many of my friends have received this message from me. And if you have extended friendship to me, which I am honored to have, before being a member of this club, it is possible that you'll miss my invitation (because I'm middle-aged and can't remember to whom I have or have not invited to the club). Therefore, anyone who has made it to "first" but has not received the invite, please let me know so you too can be an infamous member of the Obama "First" Club!!!!!

Love, light, and peace,

Jeannie in PA
