I am disappointed in the recentlly posted video displaying several people giving short descriptions of their medical and insurance problems. This is directed at the lowest common denominator and is, quite frnakly, insulting. With the money this organization is spending on useless commercials, some of these people might have been helped.
There is no doubt that some people have medical and insurance problems. Some perhaps because they lost their job. The majority of the uninsured are people who can afford insurance but choose not to buy it. Many are young who take the chance that they are healthy rather than spend for insurance. The issue is not whether there are uninsured people who are struggling with medical bills. The issue is what can be done about it and at what cost. Sad tales of a child with a disease are simply irrelevant to the debate. I want to hear real, honest proposals. I have heard none. The President and his press sec'y only speak in generalities and often have their facts and cost estimates wrong.
I have excellent health coverage because I sacrificed and worked for it because it was the smart and right thing to do. Where is my story being told? Perhaps others can learn more from success stories than from the failures.
