I wrote Gov. Phil Bredesen asking him to endorse Barack Obama yesterday.Today I received response and it reads,

Thank you for your message about this year's presidential election and for your suggestion about my personal support for one of the candidates. I appreciate your willingness to take the time to turn to me with this request.Tennessee's General Assembly is in session, and I am focused on meeting the needs of this state as we develop a budget, set our priorities for the coming year, and provide the basic services that Tennesseans need and expect. Like you, I will be following developments in this year's elections with a great amount of interest.I commend you for your enthusiasm and for your willingness to get involved in the campaign. Senator Obama is fortunate to have your support. Positive, proactive participation in the electoral process is an important method of public service, and I hope that others will follow your example.
