It seems like every other state besides Louisiana has a "[state name] for Obama" shirt, except for us. I want one! I don't know why this would be the case, and maybe I'm blind, but I just don't see one. :( And it makes me sad.
On a completely unrelated note, this bs about James Johnston is dumb. Ooo, he got a special mortgage. Well, John McCain's advisors were the VPs and lobbyists of the Mortgage Companies that created the sub-prime crisis. That's what people should be covering. Lame.
Obama '08!
As an aside, I forgot to post this, but my state has the lamest superdelegates. Hillary got 2 yesterday, where were they from? Louisiana. A state Barack won by almost 20%. Someone needs to vote them out of office.
It's a remix about the "debate" last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdnljEV7MP4
I needed the laugh.
I've called ABC and complained several times about the so called "Debate" that they aired last night. I don't even know what to say anymore, I am just so upset by it's completely lack of substantive focus on the issues. I really hope that people are smart enough not to buy the crap being peddled by ABC News.
Dear Sen. Obama - this is one person whose had enough of gotcha journalism and who saw through the insipid remarks. I am so sorry that they put you through that and I for one think that Rev. Wright is a great American. Great Americans serve their country with valour and do not hesitate to critique injustice in all its forms.
What matters to me is finding money to pay for gas, not whether or not you wear a flag pin. I am so furious that people would say such horrible things about yout. You are so right that supporting our veterans means funding their health care, and making sure their mental health needs are adequately provided for. It doesn't mean wrap yourself in a flag and call yourself a patriot while ignoring them.
So apparently the guy from Clinton's "bitter" ad isn't registered to vote. He's not even from Pennsylvania - he just moved there from Jersey! You can read it here.
*sigh* Why am I just really not surprised at all by this load of hooey. No one actually cares about the "bitter" comment, why? Because people are actually bitter. Hell, I'm really bitter - irate even - about the war in Iraq, lack of universal health care, etc.
I just don't understand what would motivate someone to get up in the morning and then spend all their time on ABC News Blogs, etc. and re-post the same negative and bizarre comments about one candidate over and over again.
I mean, I understanding commenting and reading/writing blogs (Just look at my blog), but actively spreading hateful lies is just beyond my comprehension.
So the Vermont Teddy Bear store is having a vote. You can pick either a Hillary, Barack, or McCain teddy bear. I want the Barack teddy bear!!! It's so kawaii! :) The Hillary one is cute too, but the McCain teddy bear is scary (just like real life). He has a strangely pale glowing aspect to him. Ahhh! I can't stop looking at the Barack bear. It's a $100 bucks, but I don't know, I am seriously considering getting it...
Wow. I wish that it was harder for me to believe that someone (read a U.S. Representative from Kentucky) just refered to a sitting U.S. Senator as "that boy". I guess a 46 year-old, Harvard Law President, Grammy Winner, Best-Selling Author, and Future President won't ever be anything but some uppity black guy to the less educated and ignorant among us.
Very sad. And it's a sign of everything that Barack has had to fight in order to get as far as he has. This MAN is going to go the distance. Thank God.
I'm just so happy that we have come to a place where we could be so close to nominating Barack Obama. We aren't perfect, but we are becoming more perfect.
This quiz by Mark Halperin of Time's The Page is pretty funny. I would suggest that everyone take it and then think about a General Election between Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain.
Now everyone - let's imagine them on stage at a debate. One candidate is youthful, elegant; the other candidate is old, snarly, and also half a foot shorter than the young candidate. How do you think this is going to come across to the American public? I mean, I don't think that looks are something that we should judge candidates based on, I just think that it is something that subconsciously influences our perceptions.
That's where Sen. Obama stands in the Gallup polls now. It's the highest he's ever been, and it's the largest margin that he's ever held over her! AWESOME!
Thank you Sen. Casey! I really hope this will help Barack connect with the white-working class audience and keep down the margins in Southwest Pennsylvania. I think it's great that Sen. Casey's four daughters lobbied him to support Sen. Obama. Fight the power!
I wish more uncommitted superdelegates would come together and support Sen. Obama in the hopes that we could get this nasty primary fight over and focus on the real enemy - John McCain!
So much has happened since I was last able to post. Things have been crazy for me, as I had to fly to Phoenix on business. It's sort of sad, but my first thought was "Wow! I'm in a state where the Governor supports Obama and McCain is the Senator!"
If only my state Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) would get off her behind and support Obama, then I would be a happier person. But she's facing a really tough re-election fight this year, so it's understandable that she doesn't want to get into it.
Anyway, I'll post more later, but I just wanted to give a quick shout out to my girl, Nancy Pelosi, for her principled stand against the attempted extortion of certain Clinton donors.
