There are many things that are on the possible.
Plans change, weather change, people change. This is a steady course North.
I hope the crowds to witness the new era will be good to one another.
I hope that the cold of January won't wilt or freeze us.
The dream-like cherry blossoms still waiting to burst in exuberance.
Deep breaths in this climate will turn to shallow ones there. Steam breath like dragons.
Deep dream sleep here will be no sleep, light sleep, if any there.
Giddy to mingel the steam breath and the cold with the charged air of future history sweet.
Past sour. Slavery. Inculturation. Displacement. Relocation. White-washed Ellis Immigrants. Bankrupt. Evaporation of tangible dreams. Growing pains.
Such a huge burden left to sort, to repair. Make amends. Fix.
I watch it to witness for my America, for the people who did dream it close to me.
I watch it to witness their America, who did want to see it but did not live. Who survived the sour.
I go there to witness our America that had hope it would be worth it.
To make that connection for my own history, for our America.
All of Americanizing.
All of us. American.
There are many more things now that are on the possible.
Up we go North, no more palm trees now, just Hope and Change.
Excited! Caffinated! Ready to burst! Four flags! Freezing!
Delighted to be here!

I always ask questions and I will tell you I don't know if I don't.
Takes me back to asking about stuff nobody wants to talk about.
How is it a great man as this goes without mark in my neighborhood?
I go and march anyway.
Back when we lived in the cold of winter, it was a proud day to get out in the cold
and march down the street.
The Cops and the Civic groups would put on colors and hold a banner and were smiling, proud.
Here I wonder what time zone, what time warp and why.
Florida still has a long way.
I imagine D.C. all cold up and frosted, and think....
In order to honor the legacy of a man who knew things could be different, the history books will come back to this day, the last days America had a singular view of what had always been and a few ,small, cold overcast days in January fractiled just right to show the glimmer of shimmering, future-light fruition of his dream in the rainbow of Inauguration Day.

In rough economic times it is good to know "your people". The ones you can count on. The ones who know that each little bit combined together makes a change for the better. Here is an opportunity for the people in Oviedo, Chuluota, Winter Springs, Altamonte Springs, and the like to meet one another and get stuff done in Central Florida.
Our Change Is Coming house meeting/party to take the next step and begin bringing change to our community and country will be held December 13, 2008 from 2-3pm at the East Branch Library in Oviedo, Fl 32765
As President, Barack Obama is counting on Oviedo to organize in our neighborhood and continue this movement. Agenda• Get to know others in our area who are ready to work for change.• Determine the issues most important to our group.• Plan how we can reach out to our local representatives and media to ensure our voices are heard. • Get started bringing change right away by planning a service event before the Inauguration.
It is up to each one of us to take the fate of our country into our hands. Welcome from Victoria Blakeman – 5 minutesIntroduction and sign-in.Share what inspired us to be involved in this monumental journey, the goals for the meeting, and why we think it important to continue working for change.Show Change is Coming Video – 10 minutes (Can view on My.BarackObama.com)
Plan for Change - 30 minutesThe most important part of our Change is Coming house meeting/party is to lay the groundwork for our group's activity in the coming weeks. Get to know one another. Find out what issues are top priorities for our group, and what relationships you already have with political or social organizations in your community.
Victoria Blakeman has created a Democrat Pyramid we can use as a guide.• Reflect on the election and which issues are most important to your group.• Brainstorm ways to build relationships with your local and federal representatives. • Think about ways to amplify your groups actions, such as reaching out to local media outlets.• Consider what actions you can take in your area to start bringing the change you'd like to see right away.I am asking you to help lead our future efforts to plan events and reach out to local political figures, the media, and our community.
The Next Step – 10 minutes You can take action in your community right away to make a difference.
Decide on and commit to hosting a service event before the Inauguration on January 20th. Then invite your local representatives to join you at your service event. Here are some ideas: • Hold a book, toys, winter gear, or food drive to prepare for the holiday season. Work with local organizations such as Toys for Tots, The Salvation Army, or a local school or church. We need volunteers for this!!!!! Think local too. We have the Bread of Life food pantry just down town.• Host or participate in a blood drive in our neighborhood. Work with organizations like the Red Cross to plan a blood drive with our group. Oviedo has a blood center adjacent to the Home depot • Excited about the much anticipated First Dog? Support your local animal shelter to give animals in our area a chance. The Humane Society of the United States provides lots of great ways you can help. Petsmart has shelter animals available for adoption every day of the week!• Fight for a cause that is important to you, such as finding a cure for Breast Cancer. Participate in a walk-a-thon like Relay For Life. Once you know who you "your people" are, it is easier it will be to help our community! Individualy our photos will be taken to be sent to Moveon.org and My.Barackobama.org with what each person's top three issues you find compeling that need change.
Victoria Blakeman will post information on her blog and send your photos to photos@barackobama.com. VB, Oviedo Democrats
The Orlando Sentinel detailed the hunger pangs of our local food pantries. Families in Central Florida have faced lay-offs, foreclosures, mortgage readjustment balloon payments (if they are not in foreclosure yet), and now our charitable organizations are struggling to meet the needs of families who for one reason or another would not be in their lines otherwise. Remember, it is the parents under stress that are facing the holidays a little more panic stricken to provide food, clothing and shelter to their families with the added challenge of making the season merry. Please give donations this year to your local charities. Make it a family event of giving. Go get dressed in your holiday clothes and get your cans of food, your unwrapped toy, your donation of dollars and cents, take your family and make the rounds of giving from the food pantry, to the Salvation Army bucket, you and your family can make this holiday season the one where you started the tradition of giving to others. If you can dream it, you can make it happen!
Our Change Is Coming house meeting/party to take the next step and begin bringing change to our community and country. This is for Oviedo, Florida.
President Elect Barack Obama said, “This victory alone is not the change we seek; it is only the chance for us to make that change.” Congratulations, you have taken the first steps to bring change to your community and our country. It's people like you who can change this country, one step at a time, one dream at a time!

Earl Stafford is describing his investment as "The People's Inauguration Project." The Stafford Foundation on Jan. 20 will host both an adult inaugural ball and a youth event. On Jan. 19, a prayer breakfast and a luncheon are scheduled in honor of the annual Martin Luther King holiday."We will provide hope and prayer for our country," Earl Stafford says, "for its financial stability, for our troops in battle, and especially for President-elect Barack Obama."SOURCEShttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/03/AR2008120304095_pf.htmlhttp://www.executivebiz.com/newsletter-executives-detail.php?who=estafford&check=1http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Stafford-Foundation-Announces-Peoples-Inaugural/story.aspx?guid=%7B7083291B-B512-46F8-9CDB-6B812828E9AB%7Dhttp://hotchicksdigsmartmen.blogspot.com/
I miss the local campaigners!!
With that in mind, I would like to see Mary Boston, or perhaps a person of her choosing from Oviedo, FL get one of the free tickets that will be distributed as a part of Mr. Stafford's People's Inaugural Project for Barack Obama in January 2009. The story of Earl Stafford of UNITECH and The Stafford Foundation, who has proposed The People's Inaugural Project expressed that a third of the free tickets will be distributed to Americans who have demonstrated a positive example by embodying hope and facilitating change in their communities. The People's Inaugural Project will be held at Washington's historic JW Marriott between the Capitol and the White House. The Stafford Foundation is a private foundation committed to helping underserved, marginalized and distressed Americans. What an honor to have our good lady from Oviedo, Florida receive a ticket to history.

From Harvard for OBAMA.....
Investigation by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palastreleased today Don't worry about Mickey Mouse or ACORN stealing theelection. According to an investigative report out today inRolling Stone magazine, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast, after a year-longinvestigation, reveal a systematic program of "GOP votetampering" on a massive scale. Republican Secretaries ofState of swing-state Colorado have quietly purged one in sixnames from their voter rolls. Over several months, the GOPpoliticos in Colorado stonewalled every attempt by RollingStone to get an answer to the massive purge - ten times theaverage state's rate of removal. While Obama dreams of riding to the White House on a wave ofnew voters, more then 2.7 million have had theirregistrations REJECTED under new procedures signed into lawby George Bush. Kennedy, a voting rights lawyer, chargesthis is a resurgence of 'Jim Crow' tactics to wrongly blockBlack and Hispanic voters. - A fired US prosecutor levelsnew charges - accusing leaders of his own party,Republicans, with criminal acts in an attempt to block legalvoters as "fraudulent." - Digging through governmentrecords, the Kennedy-Palast team discovered that, in 2004, aGOP scheme called "caging" ultimately took away the rightsof 1.1 million voters. The Rolling Stone duo predict that, this November 4, it will be far worse. There's more: - Since the last presidential race, "Statesused dubious 'list management' rulesto scrub at least 10million voters from their rolls." Among those was Paul Maez of Las Vegas, New Mexico - avictim of an unreported but devastating purge of voters inthat state that left as many as one in nine Democratswithout a vote. For Maez, the state's purging hisregistration was particularly shocking - he's the countyelectionssupervisor. The Kennedy-Palast revelations go far beyond thesum of questionably purged voters recently reported by theNew York Times. "Republican operatives - the party's elitecommandos of bare-knuckle politics," report Kennedy andPalast, under the cover of fighting fraudulent voting, are"systematically disenfranchis[ing] Democrats." Theinvestigators level a deadly serious charge: "If Democratsare to win the 2008 election, they must not simply beatMcCain at the polls - they must beat him by a margin thatexceeds the level of GOP vote tampering." Block the Vote by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. & Greg Palast in thecurrent issue(#1064) of Rolling Stone. [Media enquiries -Dave Falkenstein, Sunshine Sachs & Assoc, viainterviews@gregpalast.com.] Note - Kennedy and Palast are releasing, simultaneously withthe Rolling Stone investigative report what they call, thevote-theft 'antidote': a 24-page full-color comic book,Steal Back Your Vote, which can be downloaded or obtained inprint from their non-partisan website, StealBackYourVote.org

In northern India a unique school is teaching women the skills to build sustainable tools for their community and a better live for themselves. Fred de Sam Lazaro reports on the work of Sanjit 'Bunker' Roy, who has spent more than 30 years teaching the poor to tackle some of the gravest challenges facing their communities including drinking water quality, girls' education, health and sanitation, rural unemployment, income generation, electricity and power.

As a firm advocate for solar energy, i am pleased to post this in hopes for a sustainability plan to introduce this brilliant idea into the United States. The Democratic party must lead America in large and small projects like this one in order to transition into a responsible energy footprint.

The following can be researched at www.pbs.org
TestimonialWinning the Alcan Prize- the world’s largest award on Sustainability- has endorsed the value, relevance, importance and urgency of the ‘ barefoot approach’ of empowering poor illiterate (but educated) communities to control, manage and own their technical and financial resources thus demonstrating how poor communities all over the world can be self reliant.
Today is the day for the VP picks to get clear on the issues and muster the best political posturing that they can tonight.
When I lived in Danville Kentucky, a friend from Fort Pierce, Fl convinced me to go help with a restaurant there. It was a Cajun Restaurant in a dry county of Kentucky so naturaly it subsided. This small town held a few stores, two or three car lots and Center College. It did however host the first ever VP debates at Center College. When I attended the event, I was in awe of how Americans can be apathetic and rally at the same time. A cast of people that in some respects conjured images of some of Flannery O'Connor's stories....Let the games continue...
Let's see where we will go with tonights debates.....
If you are in Oviedo,Fl your destination must be R.J. Gators at the Oviedo Marketplace where we will gather at 9pm.
Hope to see you there!!!!
Hard to imagine that very soon there will be another debate. This should be a more robust type of spar due to the nature of the v.p. candidates. I look forward to this one folks, as Florida slowly changes its color from a red state to a blue one, one knock at a time and one call at a time, think of the technology that the OBAMA camp is utilizing....
With new technology come the advantages of closer and more timely interactions, imediacy of information and the disemination of that information just as quickly as we can get it out. With that, for those of you who could't reach me earlier due to garbled email, bad connections and the like, try me again at orlandodreambuilder@hotmail.com. I'm a Floridian democrat, I'm dyslexic and must admit it's a poor mind that can only spell a word one way, but if you need to reach me, my blog is up. If your going to be in New Smyrna Beach tonight to Knock and rock, I'll see you there;)
Here I am all signed up for events, I'm canvassing for OBAMA, I'm making signs and people are stealing them right out of my yard!
My neighbor across the street has an orange grove and at the street, he put up Kosmas and Burns and OBAMA....
Some lady came by this morning and stole the OBAMA sign right out of his yard!!!!
I'm asking the national director if there are flags (cloth or nylon like for different holidays and such ) that could be purchased that would not be thrown into the landfill.
Employ the American Flag Company who have flags made here in the USA get one huge order!!!!
If we had a PDF file picture on this website of a papersize campaign slogan, then I could download it, and tape it to my freakin' window so no one can take my sign.
My family already has the OBAMA logo complete with the Oviedo chicken on it downloaded and color printed, then we cut out the logo and taped it to our car windows.
(we are a farming community that was once known for citrus and celery and just so happen to have wild chicken that wander around town and the local post office. (It's a bit ironic when a chicken and rooster walk across the parking lot of the local Popeye's with their cute little baby chicks......)
I'm just saying lets have more options out there that are environmentaly responsible and affordable.
Wow, I have been a bit better educated today thanks to field organizer Greg Harell-Edge....
He gave me some more info about how the campaign is structured or lacking such in a way that makes it easy to jump from party to party celebrating the debates, raising money, smiling and dialing for victory to some of my favorites, Knock and roll(the canvassers ten plus knock-out of an area), Chalk it for Obama (the practical way around signage problems and strict Home owner association laws- just bring chalk for the sidewalk) and Obamarama!(The artists and musicians who have the Park Theatre as a venue to show pride for OBAMA through the arts-makes a great fundraiser).
There are some interesting events planed to say the least. As we speak, there are ten people signed up to go downtown at 10pm and get the partygoers of Club Row (twenty-two clubs at last count)on the Orange Ave drag to register to vote.
One thing is sure, Central Florida will never look at politics the same again.
Now, with the show of such democratic support on such a large scale, I'm proud to be a Floridia Democrat approaching the election of a lifetime.
