America I have been compiling my thoughts for what has become the most poignant moment in our history. So many for so long have been told that because of the color of their skin or the background from which they came that they could not be what they dreamed of becoming and that their vote did not count. On a warm fall evening, Tuesday, November 4, 2008, that myth was laid to rest. When I looked across at the thousands of people at the University of Pennsylvania campus and the large television screen showing the millions of people in Grant Park, I witnessed a sea of new beginnings and hope. I saw Hope that not has been seen or talked about since the cold winter night that President William Jefferson Clinton spoke of a place called Hope. I saw the rainbow that Jessie Jackson spoke of in 1973 telling folks of all nationalities that they were somebody and that they mattered.On that warm fall evening in November, I felt pride, proud to be an American and proud of Americas young people. I am proud of the elderly who are worried about their pensions and their healthcare, I am proud of the newly welcomed home vet that is only asking for their due. I saw them standing together, Black, White, Asian, Latino, Jewish, Religious and not so religious joined together waiting for the news, news of a common cause that change was here. On that warm November night I saw Dr. Kings dream come to pass and realized. I saw the brotherhood of man, coming together, that John Lennon imagined and sung about. I see the beginning of change. Change is the attitude of Hope that the millions of Americans carry with them. This is the beginning of Change that we can believe in.America is and shall always be that beacon of light the rest of the world looks to, as the example of true democracy. What we say and do as Americans are the examples in which other countries who are exploring the experiment of Democracy listens to and follows. So this is what I am asking. ABC, Disney, AOL, N.B.C. MsNBC and C.B.S. or whatever is passing as a news group these days... Can we start reporting news again? We need ground reporters to go overseas and send news reports from Darfur, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Georgia back to our country. Go and interview both sides and inform the American people. Informed Americans don't care about some Hollywoodland starlet and her divorce or some over the hill actor with a DUI or what some desperate diva is doing. I know that America is tired of star news as if it's news. BBC World news tells you more about what's going on in the U.S.A. than the American mainstream media is reporting. We put up with this through most of the Bush Administration and all through the campaign. What is going on with the surge other than, “it’s working”, how it is working. Is there any progress on the peace accord? Is there a peace accord? Did the Russian solders get out of Georgia and if not why not. What are the issues that British Parliament has on the table and are they still supporting our side in Iraq. The news, remember what it was like to be a correspondent or a reporter. I’m just askin that we get back to what is good.I am glad to have witnessed the day that the America I love so dearly got past its racial history. We have overcome. But America, President Elect Obama has said it himself. “There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after the children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage or pay their doctors' bills or save enough for their child's college education. There's new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair. The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there” Like our President Elect and many Americans we have fears. Jobs leaving our cities and going overseas to shoddy workers and materials, two wars being fought, an economy that is failing as we type. America we need more from a leader than the best one liner or the best miss quote of the day. America we are in trouble. As much as an optimist I am we see it around us everyday, the homeless victims of three major disasters, young men and woman dying in our streets due to drug violence and crime. America let us continue to talk about the substance of the issues. We have to do our part such as keeping this Blog going and informing each other of what is going on. Stay active with your local politics so that we elect qualified people who will work with our president while he works for us. The next two years are crucial and critical to America’s success. Please America; find out what issues are coming up for a vote in the Senate and the House. Make sure that the elected officials that say they represent your interest do represent your interest. The campaign is not over its just beginning. We as a people have to make this work because the world is watching and we set the standards. Again, I quote President Elect-Obama, “ If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer. It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen, by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different, that their voices could be that difference. It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled. Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states. We are, and always will be, the United States of America.

The Voice in the Wilderness

I am too excited to talk in detail now but I have a few thoughts that I needed to put down. Soon, I will be back to my long winded self. I am asking the powers that be to keep this webcite open. Whatever it takes; donations contributions whatever it takes.

Presdient Elect Barack Obama will need our help in the weeks, months and years to come. I want to take time out to thank all of the young people who helped to make this happen. Without you and your hope, enthusiastic approch to life, this campain would have failed. I am proud of your generattion which includes my daughter. You all made yourselves a part of something greater than all of us. History will tell of your story like the generation before me. If no one thanks you, I from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. This is The Voice in the Wilderness saying God Bless you all and God Bless America.

Well America, here you have it; I have read some of the most ignorant postings to date. However, I have come across one that is not ignorant but very important and sane. This was posted by Michelle Angelique on Oct 30, 2008 5:52:16 PM and I wish to share it with you:A question of perspective :Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around? Think about it. Would the country's collective point of view be different? Could racism be the culprit? Ponder the following: What if the Obama’s had paraded five children across the stage, including a three-month-old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter? What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?• What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?• What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?• What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?• What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married? • What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to painkillers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?• What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?• What if Obama had been associated with a member of the Keating Five? If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are? This is what racism does. Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.Well America, as I have said, some of the most ignorant posting to date. What people are trying to do is scare you, the American people into leaving your ability to think and reason at the door. I have seen blogging on TMZ, AOL. Yahoo from made up scare tactics to bend the truth scare tactics. One that comes to mind was on TMZ where a group of young African American youths dressed in military fatigues with gold boots were performing a step show like video voicing the inspiration of what Sen. Obama has brought to them and many other minorities across this country. Now I don’t expect many Americans to understand or ever visit a HBCU (Historically Black Collage or University). If you saw the video you had witnessed a small sample of a fraternity type of video that someone got a hold of and decided to compare it to Hitler. I am sure that the Army fatigues and boots (gold that they are) is what might have scared the be-Jesus out of them. But what was insane was that fact that many had a problem with young people saying that because of Sen. Obama’s campaign they are inspired to be better. What did people say when the young people during Dr. King and John F. Kennedy’s time were inspired to become better than what they were? I wonder if some of these people are eighty (80) years are older? I ask because I can’t imagine any one between the ages of 18 to 65 being that raciest. If they are not that old, what in the world was their parent’s doing during the sixties? Lynching Black and White student marchers and protesters for wanting to change the world?

So I have been saying all along that I was waiting for the swift boat to come. Came it did in the form of “Joe the Plumber”. Now we know that he is a McCain supporter that’s a fact. I find it hard to believe that he just all of a sudden popped up out of nowhere, because in politics unless it’s a sex scandal, nothing just pops up. I find it also incredulous that this man came into money to buy a business that will somehow overnight, put him in the 1% category of having to pay his fair share in taxes. Yeah, right? John McCain in his desperate attempt to make middle America feel that he is now on our side would now not only use Sarah Pailen but Joe as the metaphor to the common man.We are back to tax and spend spun with some old fashioned Joey come lately. Lets review this for a moment, “shall we”, If we put an across the board freeze on spending, wont we freeze our children out of an education? Would not this spending freeze include a freeze on military spending, building new roads and rebuilding our infrastructure? What about energy? I would think that this across the board spending freeze also include a freeze on the money that is suppose to help the, “oh my” Wall Street fat cats? Why when I hear someone say that they want less spending, smaller government and no higher taxes or new taxes this leads to what the middle class and the working poor always has to endure. Loss of jobs, higher taxes, less educational programs that always get the hatchet. It’s the trickle down theory all over again. America what has trickled down to you lately? I’ll tell you what, the seven hundred and fifty billion payoff to Wall Street, a growing recession on what we the American tax payer will have to tighten our belts for, no benefits for our seniors no new jobs and more outsourced jobs. I ask again, what is the purpose of our government? Why should I pay taxes if my own government refuses to bail me out when as its citizen, is in need of help. Why is it tax and spend when I am a part of the middle class who pay my taxes, work hard and expect my tax dollars to be used responsibly. I want my tax dollars to educate young America, that’s our future. I want my tax dollars used to help build new sources of energy and rebuild our infrastructure and yes I want my tax dollars in aiding the homeless and the elderly. That is the responsibility of good government. I have heard Sen. Obama say time and time again, that he is going to give tax cuts to 95% of the American people if you make less than 250.00.00. That if you are small business that generates less than 250.000.00 annually then you will be getting a tax cut plus help with healthcare insurance. America, read Sen. Obama’s plan. It’s important that we understand what is at stake in this election. Don’t let McCain and his rich crony’s mesmerize you into believing by finding new jobs in technology and rebuilding jobs and expanding new resources that we are promoting higher taxes, bigger government. What McCain is proposing is not change its four (4) more years of the same. Now I am just The Voice in the Wilderness just a tiny voice who wants America to think. Take a love one to the poll on November 4th and let’s make a difference and let’s change the world.

The Voice in the Wilderness

America, Colin Powell, has been one of the most respected American icons of the last thirty years. It is unfair that after such a distinguished military career and service to not just one but two presidents. America, to have a majority consensus of Americans asking this true American hero, to come and serve again by running for president for either party or as an Independent in the 1990s . America, to reduce, diminish, dismiss, Colin Powell’s words and endorsement of Senator Barrack Obama just by saying Colin Powell is doing this because they are both Black is an outrageous indictment against all that we as Americans have honored Colin Powell and men like him for. America is that beacon the rest of the world looks to when we speak of those we honor. What we say as Americans are the example in which other countries who are exploring the experiment of Democracy listens to when we honor men like Colin Powell. They listen to what opinions these great men hold of the future leaders they would endorse. How can we just reduce Colin Powell the American hero to:

· “It doesn’t surprise me that Powell is endorsing Obama. It’s the same reason 99% of the blacks are endorsing him. Because he's black. He can make all kinds of excuses for doing it but everyone knows why”.

· "Wake up White America"...the mass media has taken great pains to convince white America this election has nothing to do with race.....everybody else knows better" ·

" As evidenced in the OJ Simpson trial verdict, Blacks will support Blacks whether they are right or wrong, good or bad ... so it should be no surprise to anyone that Colin Powell would pledge his support for Obama. But the fact that Blacks will support Obama, regardless, is not the most disturbing part of this election ... the worst part is that after living through eight years of the Bush Regime, this nation is so desperate for change that they can't see (or won't accept) that Obama is a socialist and will only further lead this nation to ruin".

America, I can accept the fact that there are Americans who do not agree with Ret. General Powell’s endorsement and reasons for his endorsement, however, do not cast him as a man who would endorse a man because they share the same pigmentation. Colin Powell has supported and served the Republican Party and his country well. Please America; he deserve our attention and respect. I’m just the voice in the wilderness saying, Vote and God Bless America.

Now we know that he is a McCain supporter that’s a fact. The Voice in the Wilderness

My friends I am a single father raising my son who is eleven. I work hard to educate, feed and take care of him. You would be surprised how many men like me are out here across America. A few years ago I watched the Democratic National Convention and I listened to this young man who I am only a few years older, speak. I knew right then, that one day he would be the one to lead our great nation. Like you I struggle to pay my way, I contribute what I can to his campaign and I give as much of my time as I can, to tell people how important it is to vote in this election.

I say that I am just a small voice in the wilderness because I love America. There is no other county like it. I know, I have had time to go to other places and I have seen devastation, hunger and despair. Our economy is bad right now and jobs are few, crime is at an all time high. Our healthcare and educational system is broken after this shameful eight year administration. America is crying for Change. Real Change. So in support of this change this is what I want to do with the resources I have. I read other blogs and I read some of the most hurtful things that some of our fellow Americans are saying about Sen. Obama. I want to share with you my reply to them. Remember, I am just a tiny voice in the wilderness yearning for change. Real Change that we all can believe in. So please get out the vote. On November 4, 2008 let’s stand together and elect Barrack Obama our forty fourth president.

When you look out into the multitudes of people who are at these rallies what do you see? At the republican venues I see a sea of scared people. Yelling hate and spousing the sentiment of the old guard from the 1800s and first half of the last century. I don't see Asians, I don't see Latino’s, and I don't see Blacks. What I do see is the embodiment of hatetred and I feel sorry for America. I feel sorry that they can put all the lipstick in the world on a pitt bull, and you can change the words of old to an updated one, "domestic terrorist" all you want but you are still calling "That One" the same words your great grandfather's used. When I look across to the Democrats I see a sea of new beginnings I see the rainbow. It's the young people who make me so proud. It’s the generations of the elderly who are worried about their pensions and their healthcare, it's the newly welcomed home vet that is only asking for their due. I see them standing together, Black, White, Asian, Latino, Jewish, Religious and not so religious, rich, middle class and poor, joined together for a common cause. I see Dr. Kings "dream". I see "the brotherhood of man" that John Lennon saw and I see the "world that is in need of love" that Stevie Wonder sings about. I see the change that we can believe in. why can't you. On November 4, 2008, take a leep of faith America, vote for the Obama/Biden ticket together we can change the world. I am just a voice in the wilderness, just a tiny voice.

" The Voice in the Wilderness"

America, after watching the second debate it is clear to me that we need more from a leader than the best oneliners or the best miss quote of the day. We need more than unfavorable distorations of the facts. America, we are in trouble and as much as an optimist I am, we see it around us everyday. The homeless, the victims of three major disasters (forgive my spelling) young men and woman dying overseas. An economy that is leaving our elders and our children at a loss. America, we have to talk about the substance of the issues. Not lip stick on pigs or pitt bulls or what someone did when most of us were children or not even born.

Sen. Obama, is and has been consistant. He has been saying all along "lets communicate" "lets talk about the issues". I love this country as does the good Seneators Obama and Binden. I am so proud of the younger generation of voters that have come after me. They came with the energy and hope for a better promise for tomorrow. I beem with pride as I see them on the streets with faith and conviction. A faith and conviction that reminds me more of my parents and their generation as oppose to mine and Barrack's generation. I am so proud of todays youth, my sons and daughters I am so proud of all of you.

But I am scared America, I am scared for America's continued existence of freedom and courage because if we allow the forces of the other party that use lies and untruths to divide our party by our race our gender and if we allow those blogers and spin artist to use all the things that make us Americans, divide us, then not just Democrats loose. America will loose. Don't let this happen. If you are able donate your time, words, money to this worthy cause do it. If you are not registered to vote and it is not too late, get registered and on November 4, 2008 Vote. If you know someone who is elderly and have no way of getting to the poles on election day, take them drive them.

The Obama/Biden ticket is a new beginning in a new direction to our future and the future of our children. I know you all have heard this time and time again, This is the most important election of our time. Let's get out the vote.
