For some reason I can't post the last part of this blog. So I am linking to an outside website that has the blog in its entirety. There is a lot of useful information for local organizations in that part of the post. I hope you check it out.

Thanks for stopping and talking with us Saturday!
We have compiled information to make people aware of National Health Care Reform. All the people you met today endorse 3 Main Principles when it comes to Health Care Reform. We need a public Health care option that:
1)Reduces Costs - Cost must be brought under control!
2)Guarantees Choice - Keep whatever doctor and healthcare plan we have or Choose a new doctor or Healthcare Plan.
3)Ensures Affordable Care for all - Everyone must have Access to quality and affordable health care.
(I am posting this in parts because I have been having trouble the past couple days posting the whole thing as one blog. I hope this works!)
Here’s the scoop on the plan to distribute information about CHP+ and CICP on June 27th…
1. Brochures/with applications for CHP+ for children and pregnant women, posters and even some children’s giveaway items will be arriving sometime in the next week to ten days.
2. We can’t take applications because documents must be provided and verified by certain agencies, but we can help people fill them out if they want us to and we can provide information on what they need and where they can take it to complete the application.
3. We got information on CICP, but, again, we can’t take applications – only help people understand where they can apply and under what circumstances and places it’s effective.
4. We hope to have shirts that will help identify the group.
5. The event has now been created you can sign up at (http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/gpcgh7)
Robert Reich, Sec. of Labor in the Clinton admin., will be discussing money in politics and health care reform. Here is the link to the PBS website with the time.

I won't make this long.
I have really wanted to help Obama get things done this term. I didn't know how to help or where to start. I am so happy that Obama and his people have kept this site running and I hope to do many more events with the aid of this Organizing website. I think it is great to have a President that (as I expected) wants to find answers with the help of the American people.
I am a very busy single parent. I don't have the time to follow everything that is happening in America. I have enough time to chime in on the things that really hit home. This is one of those things that really hits home and sets a foundation for America moving forward. I don't know where the health care debate will leave us, but the current system is failing. It will be nice to sit down with people I will see in my community and hear what they have to say about health care. All answers are found somewhere between what I want and what they want.
I would have to say that I am happy that the Republicans held out for a few extra moments. I don't know the details of the "Bail Out" plan that failed. None the less I have to say that I don't like the idea of throwing money at a problem. The financial crisis did not happen overnight. We need to let the democratic process work. Politicians need to work on ways to ensure our money is used responsibly. Now, after this 1st draft has failed Congress should move quickly to get the final draft approved.
With this "Bail Out" I think there should be some serious scrutiny of the financial practices used by those needing our help now. The main thing that got all these financial institutitions in trouble was their inability to contain their greed. If the banks and creditors used conservative lending practices they would be insulated from this mess. But since all the firms on wall street acted like they were at a party with their clothes off and got busted they should pay for their mistakes.
The judicial system should give these Financial Institutions its full fury. If we are going to pay they should do the time (if they broke the rules).
I am pretty upset this morning. I have been stewing over this for a week. I can't believe we think nothing of throwing half a trillion dollars at banks and investors, but universal health care is too expensive. I am upset that "We Need" to give the banks any money. They are the ones not giving over burdened home owners a "Bailout". Why should they be treated any nicer. I wish we could treat the banks like they have treated my friends and neighbors.
This is a classic case of "Us" and "Them".
I couldn't hold it in anymore! I have hope that Obama will help us do the right thing for the next 4 years.
Well this is the first time I have tried blogging. I used to write alot but I haven't done anything that has mattered in a long time. I have been too busy working and raising my child. I see this campaign as important enough to write about and participate in. In the spirit of full disclosure :) I will say that I am a single parent of a beautiful young lady. I work a full time job for a local utility and I listen to NPR. I am a 33 year old black male that is proud to be in support of a fine candidate who happens to be black also. Most people I am sure think my support is only based on one thing... Barack is black. I don't find myself a person to follow idiots. I voted against G.W. twice. I consider Barack a breath of fresh air. Finally I feel we have a politician that is doing what's right for America. I am proud that Barack is an intelligent and well spoken black man. Now with that behind us let's move on the the important shit.
I just realized today what this site can do. I will have to explore it more. I found events that sounded really cool, but they are pretty far away. With gas prices going through the roof I would prefer to attend something more local. I am in the Fort Collins/Northern Colorado Area. I am going to read about this more, but I think it would be nice to have a political meet up in my area. We will see what time I have available for this type of endeavor. I have a lot of things keeping me busy, so it won't be easy.
Please feel free to email me if you want. I don't know what you would have to say at this point, but it will be interesting to see :)
