Senator Obama, Mr. Axelrod, fellow Obama supporters:
! GOP (Rovian/Gingrich-type) RED ALERT! (maybe?)
-FYI- Yes, I am (pragmatically) cynical, a people gleaner, and fairly good at reading between the lines of ulterior motives. What do you all think about my theory? PLAUSIBLE? If you agree, then time to brainstorm to squelch or at least monitor this potential “thorn” and its potential harm to Obama winning the general election!
We must follow up and defeat actualization of this theory OR debunk it! Let’s NOT GET COMPLACENT and get “swift boated” nor “bamboozled” by the GOP courtesy of Condoleeza Rice.
For the record I AM NOT a Condi-hater or Condi-basher (I actually like and respect her as a human being) but rather trying to look out for Obama and assess whether or not Secrty. Rice's allegiance to the GOP party supersedes her allegiance to herself (as an African American--FOLKS, such does happen) and vindication of her real and personal race-related struggles (past or current).
-THE GIST-
1) Senator Obama gave a stirringly powerful, truthful, eloquent, and resonant speech on “race and relations”
2) Days following the speech, secretary of state, Condi Rice, subsequently attended some “secret society” type meeting (reported by MSM) of GOP elites
3) “Rumors” of Condi Rice as McCain’s VP running mate has since surfaced
4) Condi Rice insists “no way” to possible McCain VP nod
=======*POINT 1* In the spirit of Senator Obama’s speech regarding race let us all not deny that most (reasonable, mentally sane, and honest) African Americans are extremely proud of both Senator Obama’s and Condi Rice’s many and substantial accomplishments, success, and service to our great country…………………that being said
5) Condi Rice [not the current PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, G.W. Bush] steps out and publicly makes a speech on “how important” Obama’s speech on race was and what it means--on various levels--as well as implying that there exists a “birth defect” (I find this very interesting phraseology) among the white and black races!
=======*POINT 2* Interesting how Sectry. Rice thought it “of value” to speak out about Obama’s speech *NOW* *AND* in such terms as not to appear to “praise” [democratic presidential candidate] Obama for his insight and vision for us all to achieve a “more perfect union” (in addition to his many other presidential qualities) but rather to provide a type of neutrality in her agreement as a show of “empathy” for the African American *VOTER* population! (which, of course, she can truly emphathize herself being an African American, but here I am speaking of a purely POLITICAL stream)
=======*POINT 3* Interesting how as the current POTUS, G.W. Bush, did not feel compelled to himself make this or any similar speech in a neutral or otherwise tone (oh, I forgot he’s a lame duck—times two. LOL) echoing Obama’s historic address (isn’t this the kind of acknowledgement/reaction you’d expect from a sitting POTUS)
=======*POINT 4* FUNNY, shrewd, FUNNY, calculating, FUNNY, Rovian-Gingrich—esque, FUNNY, disingenuous, FUNNY, plausible?
I THINK SO. As the Pennsylvania primary approaches and the MSM, et al has plenty of time to either (1) spin Sectry. Rice’s “comments” positively or (2) spin them negatively (as I believe the GOP would prefer) in order to indirectly “stir the pot” of a heated and regressive discussion on race relations between whites and blacks just in time to negatively affect the voters, voting, and resultant democratic primary results in the state on April 22 to (you guessed it) help Hillary somehow “win” and potentially go head-to-head with McCain in the general election--and effectually be beaten.
AND, AND, AND perhaps also, if Condi later “changes her mind” and “decides” (hmmm?) to run for McCain’s VP slot she’ll have, in effect, positioned herself as a TRIPLE-THREAT [1]highly intelligent and qualified African American, [2] female-with the added bonus of running for POTUS herself if she later determines she likes the VP job—, [3] capable of garnering a huge (if not all) percentage of the African American electorate in November to put the republicans back in the white house—as a result of her “birth defect” (Rice’s choice of words).
Now, besides the former, exactly what else could Sectry. Rice possibly derive from inserting and implementing such an exhaustive and obligatory strategy (besides arrested retirement, arrested and highly lucrative speaking and authoring engagements, and supreme “private citizen ilk” GOP favors for a lifetime)?
I know what many of you may be thinking (or, at least I think so). Yes, I respectfully acknowledge that Secrty. Rice is a child of segregation and its various injustices, but let us also acknowledge and not forget sometimes genuinely good African American (and other) people can be persuaded to “go bad” over time for a multitude of reasons.
Good people, just like Condi Rice, who though herself persevered, earned and succeeded to power-and-influence in the face of the most unjust of circumstances [sometimes] are progressively overtaken by the greed/comfort/greater cause, etc. of their achieved power-and-influence (notice I did not say money nor success) to further the IDEALS that have come to sustain them in many ways and for whatever reasons. Hence, for Condi Rice the Bush-type policies and the GOP party.
