Ok, so I did not watch all of the Republican Convention. I just could not stomach it. I saw and heard a bit of the speeches but I had to turn the TV off before I injured my hand from reaching through it to choke one of those bastards. Recently, I have been seeing more clips of it that I find really ridiculous and disturbing. Rudy Guiliani aka Mr.9/11, Sarah Palin aka PaLIAR and others were laughing at Obama's Community Organizing experience. WTH. These very people who were telling us to get involved with helping the New Orleans victims, the very people who are trying to make the public believe that Democrats are the elitist, were LAUGHING at community organizing.
Well Sarah PaLIAR wanted to tell the country what a Wissilly mayor of Alaska does, but the RNC needs to know what a community organizer does before they knock it because its clear that they don't know what the hell it is. It actually sounds a lot like what a President of a great nation does.
So here's a SHORT description of community organizing. Its kind of like running a country. But only you need more heart, dedication and discipline:
Community organizing is a process by which people are brought together to act in common self-interest. While organizing describes any activity involving people interacting with one another in a formal manner, much community organizing is in the pursuit of a common agenda. Community organizers create social movements by building a base of concerned people, mobilizing these community members to act, and developing leadership from and relationships among the people involved.
Key Principles:A Participative Culture, Inclusiveness, Breadth of Mission and Vision, Critical Perspective.
If anyone who wants to laugh at community organizing needs an example of how community organizing has made a difference, look at the accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER. And there's no one who can stand up and laugh at that or doubt his acheivements at that. Its because of ORGANIZERS not mayors, governors or at that matter presidents that we now have equal rights, women have the right to vote etc. Organizers had to work at the bottom first to reach the top. An Organizer changed the direction of a nation!
How dare a woman stand up on a stage, speaking to millions, laugh at that. She would not be there if it weren't for COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS working to CHANGE things. Its nothing to laugh at. That moment proved exactly who are really the elite in this race.

I live in Baltimore and it seems like we never have any Obama stuff going on. I know Maryland is a guaranteed for Barack but I'm thinking about doing a voters drive thing. I wanna get some inner city people informed and registered. Can anyone out there tell me how I can do this. I've never done anything like this on my own before so I'm really nervous.

Guys, I'm down right now. I just can't find a new job. The job I have now does not pay well. I'm barely getting by. I'm looking for a full time or part time job and nobody is hiring. And when I do fill out an application, the employers don't get back to you. Sometimes I call them and most of the time they are hard to reach. Hopefully when Obama is president things will improve.
What I don't understand is how can you apply to the same companies for 4 YEARS and they NEVER EVER call you. I've been VERY persistant and they can't even call me in for an interview. Not one. This is just crazy. I thought having a degree was suppose to make this process easier. I guess all it really is is a piece of paper. Please someone cheer me up.
Will the Democratic Convention be televised?
The media keeps wondering why Obama is not farther ahead of McCain in the polls. right? My thing is for McCain to be this "maverick" and "straight talker" and have this strong "experience" as he and others say, why isn't he ahead of Barack in the polls? Could it be because all of the things mentioned above are a bit flawed?
Please tell me, Why isn't McCain ahead of Barack? If I was McCain, I'd be very embarrased because in my opinion that says a lot about your record. It means that Americans have a beef with you.
Hey guys! I just have to say I'm so impressed at how well our guy is doing overseas. This week has been so fun watching him interact with other leaders. Its very exciting! And him talking to the Pres. Of France today was really good. He seemed nervous at first but I think he was just trying to really focus on what the translator was saying. I'm just very proud of him. He made us look good by showing what we REALLY are about. And how we REALLY feel.
And I'll say one more thing. If America does not elect Barack, we're going to look like true idiots overseas. They say we will remain friends but I doubt they will have the same respect for us.
Just to lighten the mood a bit up in here. I have a secret crush on Biden. I just think he's so sexy. He can be my granddaddy though. But he's hot and I hope he's our VP.

Ok, so this election is getting very bumpy. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be easy. Although on some days like this, when we see blatant bigotry, it brings our spirit down a bit. I think of the following and I feel all better again-God's will.
I believe, that its in God's will for all of this to happen. I also believe that its in His will that Barack will be the next president of the United States. There's one thing that Rev. Wright said that was completely right. If its meant for Barack to be president, NOTHING will keep it from happening. Its my belief that NOTHING is going to keep this from happening. This is fate. Its God's will.
Its up to us as citizens of this nation to do our part. Correct the mistaken, educate the ignorant. Keep the faith people. Our time is here! Lets not sleep through it.
