I have been reading up on the FairTax and would like to know where other Obama contributors and volunteers stand on this issue...
In 2005, Neal Boortz and Georgia congressman John Linder created "The Fair Tax Book." This book is a planned design to eliminate federal taxes and the IRS, jump-start the U.S. economy, bring back lost industries and jobs, and recapture billions of untaxed dollars hoarded by criminal and offshore businesses. I recently bought and have started reading "FairTax: The Truth." I have been captivated by what was pushed at me from a coworker from the right and as I read on more and more I am pulled toward what seems like a very 'great' idea. This latest book debunks the negative myths and gross misrepresentations of this groundbreaking idea. It is simple, and eliminates the fraud, hassle, and waste of our current system. I will take the time to read up on The FairTax before consindering pushing it on anyone but I would definately say check this out because this could be a part of the Obama revolution that could change the U.S. in a great way forever.
When I became interested in this election I had just finished watching a primary with Cinton, Edwards, Obama, and Richardson. I had turned on the tube an hour before it was over and caught Obama saying something to the effect of,"He was against the lobbyist." At that point I felt that there was finally a canidate who would try to remove the vote from the pockets who pay politicians for there vote and return the vote to the public. I have been preaching to friends and family for quite sometime that as long as lobby controls our politicians our vote only counts for an election but not for the issues. Richardson seemed well qualified but his enthusiasm was lacking. Clinton was on the defense and this made me skeptical of her. Edwards and Obama were both saying the things I needed to hear.
After a few days of campaigning Edwards dropped from the race and it was evident that our options for a president would be either Obama or Clinton vs. either McCain or Romney. It was time to decide.
The Republican side was an easy decision if I was to vote red... McCain was the most liberal and the others seemed to pompus. But who would be the best runner against McCain in my opinion was Obama. The idea that Hillary has the experience somehow offends me. She has been a good politician but after the bushes the last thing I want is a familiar face, especially another family face in office. Her husband had that whole sex scandal that I know wasn't her doing. But I count that as a negative. She had cried twice which showed me either a weakness or an attempt to grab a sympathy vote... Yet another negative. I read she took some 850,000 in campaign controbutions from a lobbyist guy named Hsu and was defending big lobby which made me think she could care less about me. That was more than enough to not vote Clinton.
All that was left for me was to check out Barack Obama. I heard his name tied to the muslims several times so I had to check it out. Nope Belongs to A christian church. Somewhere else I had heard Obama's church preached that the black culture should control on high, some sort of ethnic reign propoganda. So I checked out Trinity on-line and it seems to be a christian church that carries the African culture unashamedly along with 400 years of christian followings. I then checked out this web site and read about him, his family, his schooling, his political history, where he stands on the issues at hand. After all this reading I have made mt decision and will proudly place my vote with Barack Obama.
