It is no surprise Dick Cheney and people responsible for enacting torture and cruelty to prisoners are crying foul now. Cheney and the whole bunch are criminals returning to the scene of their crimes. Finding out information by committing War crimes has no defense, whatsoever!
Just imagine, one minute your life is exciting, job possibilities are endless and every challenge seems possible. Then in one moment every possibility, everything you believe in vanishes, because you are a passenger of a vehicle that has plummeted 350 feet straight down a mountain. Everything you worked for, everything you believe about society is proven wrong! Despite the fact you had insurance, a good law firm, you should prevail, and especially since it was determined the Federal road had been intentionally mismanaged for the sake of saving money, and in addition to that shear negligence, you have picture after picture proving those facts.
That’s just the beginning of your very harsh education you are about to realize. Justice is only the first of a myriad of institutional and societal failures reality is about to slam down your throat. The first deception was a Federal court system that only cares about precedence and cares less about justice, next you are robbed of any and all dignity. You are forced to become a dependent on the state at the lowest level of economic life, forever. One minute your sitting shotgun in a Ford, hit an embedded rock that by Federal policy should have been removed; the next minute a quadriplegic.
From that point on your education begins and realize the existence of a completely different society from the one you grew up believing in. One where deep discrimination exists, where entire groups of people are considered broken and are simply discarded. Even if you go back to college and graduated from the University California Irvine, despite receiving a degree in Urban Planning and Political Science you are unable to acquire any economic opportunity without jeopardizing your life, due to the healthcare system. You come face to face with a Social Economic prison that exists due to a lack of Health Care. How our society relies on the false promises of insurance companies and our false assumption our justice system will remedy wrongs. You have now existed with both, the haves, and the haves not, and realize we must bridge this gap.
You now encounter my world, September 13, 1986, this white boy found out first hand what discrimination is all about. I became a member of the Afro-American community, and how a white man learns of the many societal problems associated with this situation, my situation, because now you would, like me, have to deal with all aspects of society, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, the Justice system, State and Local health agencies, the Education system, etc.. You become aware of ways society can solve and benefit simultaneously, but the first thing that must be addressed is this labeling crap. I don’t care if it’s extraterrestrial, if it works, do it.
How the hell does having one insurance company do anything but streamline and organize. If they don’t dictate to doctors it doesn’t affect medical practices. I have watched a truly first class medical system devolve since 1986. That has been from powerful insurer’s ability to dictate medical procedures, an absolute disaster. Likewise, with the pharmaceutical companies having their way with the FDA, these freedoms of deregulation started in 1986. The infiltration of Federal agencies designed to protect the citizens and government from profit motivated entities began with Reagan.
These Federal agencies were set up to protect citizens and government from the problems with corporate greed and dominance. All these problems we are having today can be traced back to Ronald Reagan and deregulation. They have turned this country upside down and shook it like a piggy bank, and now robbed millions of everything they own. It was done at a time hen the population has grown old. If they had done this in the sixties, every millionaire would fear for their lives.
This country and every man woman and child has been systematically robbed for the past eight years, outright. The truth is they waged a class war on the working man who generated the wealth in the first place. The GOP had everybody fighting over the immigrants and 12 million low wage jobs, while they shipped 50 million high wage technical jobs to China, by the corporations that would not have existed in the first place, if not for the American workers. They had no idea how to manufacture Jack S__T, until those corporations sold out the methods. Those industries include but are a few mentioned: semiconductors, television, satellite, etc... They are all gone without anybody saying a word. Truly was The Crime of the Century, for pictorial view Goto:

Roosevelt warned us that corporations would always try to dishonor their obligations to the workers and try to overthrow our Democracy. Back then it was Railroads, Steel, and Farmers and now it is Energy, Pharmaceuticals, and Insurance. They own the GOP lock stock and barrel along with some Democrat's and committee chairs that have the ability to block real change.
I know I got off my original premise and intended topic of health care and our societal problems, but I continue to come back to this horrible reality of this, Crime of the Century so well articulated by Supertramp in the song that is located on You Tube above, no mater how the conversation starts. It seems our country has put itself in the same desperation I felt and experienced when my accident robbed me of my body and I became quadriplegic.
Just as in the days of the civil war with Lincoln and Pearl Harbor with Roosevelt divine intervention is necessary and each president would say it took place, but after this countries attacks on the very principles we have stood for that were founded on the precepts found in our bible and on decency in general, makes that mercy seem very distant and remote. We have to stop all the dishonesty with regards to motives and actions, educate our citizens in order to restore the desire to accomplish good and respect for one another. We can start with this recent episode in Mumbai.

More From NOW: Obama in Danger? | Is the Evangelical Vote in Play? | What Obama Needs To Do in the Next 60 Days | Candidates Meet at Columbia | Debating Palin's Candidacy | Feedback Forum
The following is a reprint of a September 9, 2008 entry from Drew Westen's blog As someone who has been informally advising the campaign for nearly a year, but who has grown as frustrated and concerned as the dozens of fellow Democrats who have written me in increasing tones of desperation over the last week, let me suggest 10 more ways the Obama campaign can avoid yet another B-movie with an unhappy ending. 1. Don't practice political creationism. The Obama campaign was well aware of the argument a year and a half ago that the most destructive thing they could do was to leave the emerging Muslim smear on the Internet unchallenged. They were aware of the relevant scientific data on how the same kind of smear that worked against Harold Ford, Jr. in Tennessee. They chose to ignore the science and to rely instead on Democratic conventional wisdom, that bringing a smear into the light of day and attacking it there before it captures the popular imagination only draws attention to it, and that it's better not to "dignify" it. We've heard that story before, and it doesn't end happily ever after. They were similarly aware of the argument—it was published right here a little over a week ago—that allowing Palin to define herself would make it difficult to change public opinion if she delivered a strong, emotionally compelling acceptance speech, because once people have formed a positive impression, they will fend off data inconsistent with it. Precisely how and why this happens in the brain is not a secret. Once again they chose to ignore the relevant science. This is how Republicans govern. They ignore science and rely on faith and intuition. Unfortunately, it's how Democrats campaign. No one should be involved in messaging or strategy in a Democratic campaign who isn't intimately familiar with the 60 years of research in social psychology on persuasion—on what works and what doesn't. This isn't optional reading. No one aware of that research would have made the strategic error the Obama campaign just made on the Palin nomination. 2. Stop playing checkers when the other side is playing chess. Republican strategists play chess. They think six moves ahead. Democrats play checkers. They think one move ahead.

GOP
Greedy Oil Party
GOP Greedy Oil Party It is entirely redundant to continue with a failed policy that continues our dependence on oil for our transportation needs. If the GOP was not owned lock stock and percentage of every barrel by the oil industry, we would have had several alternative fuels for our entire transportation needs years ago. The oil industry and every Republican president has fought, lied, and legislated against every alternative fuel for the past 40 years. Jimmy Carter was the first president to tell the truth about the seriousness of this industries stranglehold on our economy, but the truth proved too much for the American people to handle. So, Ronald Reagan had the GOP answer to our energy problems, one our society was prepared to accept, What Problem!. This is one example of the same answer given by every Republican president and highlights the control this industry has had over the GOP along with part of the Democratic Party for the past 40 years! How many lies did the GOP invent to invade Iraq in order to secure the oil fields for the industry they serve? The real threat was the contracts Saddam had negotiated with France and China to sell oil using currency other than the US dollar. Those contracts would have plunged the dollar into a reality check for once testing its true value. Its also why Josh Bolton created the UN resolution that absolved Shell & Exxon from criminal liability on lawsuits by the countries holding the contracts with Saddam, because everything we did was illegal. This industries willingness to charge any amount of money, manipulate markets, their collusion with auto makers, along with the corruption to our political system threatens our Democratic way of life. This industry has gained absolute control over the GOP, and with that came control of our military. Now our country invents situations to attack a sovereign nation in order to secure corporate oil fields and is also the reason the Republican party wants a permanent base in order to secure corporate profits. The GOP’s willingness to sacrifice lives in order to secure the Iraq oil fields is criminal. By the way, when Bush stated “Mission Accomplished”, he was acknowledging the oil fields were secured. He was talking to the oil giants, not to the American citizens!. They provided lie after lie for a rationale to stay and fight a civil war. Now they are conning the American people again, by raising the price of oil through speculators. There is no shortage of oil, their profits are soaring. They have not suffered any losses, their refineries are running at their capacity, their costs have not gone up, they have total control of the market and have collusion with the auto industry, along with a stranglehold on our country, and you want to drill more oil. Is that a form of insanity or stupidity?
If we had been involved and not allowed this industry to effectively over throw the GOP we would have had solar, or steam, or electric cars. My God, they forced people in California to return the few electric cars back to the manufacturers and then they were destroyed, go to, “Who Killed the Electric Car”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsJAlrYjGz8 ENOUGH is ENOUGH!! When oil refineries are running at capacity, which they have been for years, it does not matter how much oil they pump, it can't and won’t effect the price by a dime. They don’t want alternative fuels ever, because then they can’t control the market, or our politicians, and our very lives. The only way to regain a two party system with real Republicans and true conservatives is to eliminate this industrial monopoly. People in the US won't pay $4.50 or $5.00 a gallon, and the oil monopolies are freaking out. Now they are crying on Cspan and have their patsy GOP reps crying to drill offshore, despite having lease options available throughout the coastlines of Mexico and on shore. They know full well it won't change the price no matter what, but they know how to make this population confused and take the eye off the problem! There is no end to this industries Greed and willingness to destroy environments or habitats. The people in Florida or Texas and the rest of this country may be stupid enough to listen to these bold faced Liars, the GOP patsies, and the bought off Democrats, but you will drill in Hell before off shore California! Other countries aren’t buying into the American corporate monopoly! India just developed a car that runs on compressed air! The Compressed Air Car developed by Motor Development International (MDI) Founder Guy Negre might be the best thing to have happened to the motor engine in years. The $12,700 City CAT one of the planned Air Car models, can hit 68 mph and has a range of 125 miles. It will take only a few minutes for the City CAT to refuel at gas stations equipped with custom air compressor units. MDI says it should cost only around $2 to fill the car up with 340 liters of air! The Air Car will be starting production relatively soon, thanks to India's TATA Motors. Forget corn! There's fuel, there's renewable fuel, and then there's user-renewable fuel! What can be better than air? Honda has had natural gas cars for ten years and sold its first Hydrogen car last week! We must eliminate any monopoly over our economy, otherwise get ready for more war!
Don’t Let the Oil Industry Lie to Us Anymore! There are alternatives to a Ruthless Monopoly! Stand up and say, NO!
The GOP, RNC and the OIL INDUSTRY
Let's quit the nonsense concerning the GOP & RNC and the fact that this war was a mistake. We know for a fact of the links between the RNC and the Oil industry, and the absolute servitude to the OIL industry by the RNC from the power hold this industry has over the Republican Party. America has violated our own International Laws we adopted along with violating our own Constitution, along with the Geneva Convention we rarified in order to secure the OIL fields for the greediest industry in History. There are only two other times in American history that a special interest threatened our Democracy.
The Railroad, Steel industries of the thirties and Slavery throughout the 1800's are two other times in American history where special interest threatened our Democratic way of life. Both times required a strong president to break from the past and provide a vision of a country that included every American. Roosevelt and Lincoln were two such presidents that provided that type of leadership. WHY THE REPUBLICANS AREN'T CRAWLING UNDER A ROCK IS DISGUSTING. This was no mistake, accident, blunder, slip-up, error, mix-up, bungle, but a fixed, contrived and criminal act perpetrated on the American people and the rest of the world. Under every definition this country has ever held toward sovereignty and acts of war this entire administration are criminals of war, and the SURGE was the continuation of that illegal act. What a joke that we went to Iraq to overthrow a dictator. Wait a minute, we attack one dictator to install a Democracy while we simultaneously pay billions to give absolute power to the Dictator in Pakistan instead of their Democracy, explain that one RNC decepticons. Why do you think the RNC must stay in Iraq for a 100 years? The Republicans must protect the damn oil fields, what else! Maleiki figured that one out quick!
Then the oil industry jacks the price to $4.50 a gallon, but when they see we are serious about an alternative fuel the oil companies freak out! They go into protection mode and use their private Republican Party to put the pressure on, by using the same excuses to alternative fuels. The lies that no alternatives exist the same lies about the alternatives we have, but they sabotaged for the last 50 years. In fact, on Larry King last night, the Republican host was screaming, "American's can pay $5.00 or $10.00 a gallon just like the Europeans", what a sweet heart. He conveniently forgot to mention we can't have health care, living wages, pensions, etc.., the Europeans all enjoy, what an oversight! I guess we are just a nation a whiners in the brains of every rich Republican.
In the same day a Motion picture studio head buys a Hydrogen fuel cell Honda that gets 300 miles on 4 grams of Hydrogen, for $20.00. What are the 2 giant hurdles? They only built 1 vehicle so it costs almost a million dollars and there is only 1 Shell station that sells hydrogen fuel!!! I heard of a unique process called mass production and legislating the crap out of industries that act like pirates to force them to provide fuel alternatives. Boy we would have to wait a whole 1 to 2 years if people finally got off their butts and started screaming!! I have not even brought up the Electric cars seized and shredded by the auto industry due to sabotage from collusion between the oil industry, the auto industry, and our political system. Every fully functioning electric car in California provided a perfect alternative if pursued right now!
If these facts don't get to you, or 4,000 dead Americans don't get to you, or 50,000 dead Iraqi's don't spark a fire under your butts, isn't the corruption of our entire political system by these Greedy bastards enough? The rest of the world thinks we are idiots, and the American people continue to provide the proof!
LOYAL TO OIL
The truth about offshore oil drilling is it will not change the price of oil, 1 dime, not now, not ever, all the oil of the California coast amounts to 1 week’s worth of oil. The Gulf States and the Atlantic seaboard offers more, but the fact still remains the oil companies have thousands of acres of lease holds currently that are not on foreign soil and are not and will not drill on, Why not? Two reasons, they don’t want to and they are already running at full capacity. The truth behind all this barking by the Oil owned GOP is that this is simply a land grab. By intimidating the Democratic Party with bold faced lies about having any solution short term or long term by drilling in the US is factually untrue. It is so obvious the GOP is no longer a party of Republicans or Conservatives, but now have Oilists. These people have no respect for our Constitution or are Laws; they are only Loyal to Oil!
I can understand why the GOP and the Republican Congress are willing to stand up and squeal these utter lies, to the American people, that there is enough oil offshore to have any impact on price. The oil companies that own them will not stand for the public even mentioning alternatives to oil, once that happens it's time for their well paid cheerleaders to go to work. But what is surprising to me is the public's blind support for these unsubstantiated claims, we've been down this road before, 40 years worth. The American people have been consistently lied to for the past 40 years. I guess by changing the president the American people can't tell it's the same lie just another guy. It's hard to figure out what it will take for the American public to realize a monopoly with complete control over one party and control over quite a few members of the other party, is not in our best interests. The core problem is having one industry control over our economy and until we address that problem he will not solve any political. There's only two other times in history an industry came so close to destroying our democracy, slavery in 1800 with Lincoln and the railroads steel industry when FDR was president. In both cases it took a strong president willing to alter the course and restore democracy to its citizenry.

The Crime of the Century!
This has excerpts from a speech given by President Roosevelt I updated and made relevant to our current crisis. We all need to take the threat of an industry destroying our Democracy just as serious as president Roosevelt did!
For the past eight years the GOP has allowed tax laws and predatory corporate entities every opportunity to rob every man, woman, and child that makes less than $500,000 annually!
No other time in US history has the rich and privileged, the corporate predators been allowed to manipulate the tax code and been given the authorization to bankrupt the citizens, county after county, and state after state, throughout the US.
This is an ongoing epoch-making event--- throughout our history--- the long struggle for the rights of man—the long struggle to uplift humanity. Our country—this great Republic—means nothing unless it means the triumph of a real democracy, the triumph of popular government, and, in the long run, of an economic system under which each man should be guaranteed the opportunity to show the best that there is in him. The citizens and the world once again set their sites hopefully toward our democracy. Can our fellow citizens realize the GOP has abandon support for the individual and taken up the cause of the corporations representing Big Oil, Insurance, & Drug industries. They have ended the long held belief that each person carries on their shoulders not only the burden of doing well for the sake of your country, but the burden of doing well and of seeing that this nation does well for the sake of mankind, except for soldiers.
It is in times like these that we need to look to the great men of the past for a clear vision for the future. The generation of men to whom we owe so much, the men to whom we owe most is, of course, Lincoln and Roosevelt. Part of our debt to Lincoln is because he forecast our present struggle and saw the way out. He said:
"I hold that while man exists it is his duty to improve not only his own condition, but to assist in ameliorating mankind."
And again:
"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."
Lincoln went on to proclaim that is one side; that is the side the capitalist should hear. Now, let the working man hear this side.
"Capital has its rights, which are as worthy of protection as any other rights. . . . Nor should this lead to a war upon the owners of property. Property is the fruit of labor; . . . property is desirable; is a positive good in the world."
And then comes a thoroughly Lincoln like sentence:
"Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built."
Lincoln unlike the current administration or McCain takes a substantial attitude that we ought to take; he shows the proper sense of proportion in his relative estimates of capital and labor, of human rights and property rights, something completely absent in our current economic and political system today. These are lessons with wisdom, and with kindliness, and charity; an indispensable lesson to us of to-day. It should be noted his wise kindliness and charity never weakened his arm or numbed his heart.
We cannot afford weakly to blind ourselves to the actual conflict which faces us to-day. The stakes are extremely high and the issue is joined, we must fight or fail. One of the chief factors in progress is the destruction of special privilege. The essence of any struggle for healthy liberty has always been, and must always be, to take from some one man or class of men the right to enjoy power, or wealth, or position, or immunity, which has not been earned by service to his or their fellows. That is what has been fought for in every War, and that is what we strive for in this election.
Here we are once again at a place where conflict between the corporations, and political party-- (GOP)-- possess more than they have earned, While the private citizens who have earned more than they possess are the central condition of progress. In this day it appears as the struggle of freemen to gain and hold the right of self-government as against the special interests, who twist the methods of free government into machinery for defeating the popular will. At every stage, and under all circumstances, the essence of the struggle is to equalize opportunity, destroy privilege, and give to the life and citizenship of every individual the highest possible value both to himself and to the commonwealth. That is nothing new. There is no complaint when men earn position and wealth as long as it is not at the expense of others or when a man got promotion which he did not earn.
Much of these truths are well established and are directly taken from Roosevelt in 1910 trying to achieve equality of opportunity for all citizens, and he wrote when we achieve it, it will have two great results. First, every man will have a fair chance to make of himself all he can be; to reach the highest point to which his capacities, unassisted by special privilege of his own and unhampered by the special privilege of others, can carry him, and to get for himself and his family substantially what he has earned. Second, equality of opportunity means that the commonwealth will get from every citizen the highest service of which he is capable. No man who carries the burden of the special privileges of another can give to the commonwealth that service to which it is fairly entitled.
This means our government must be freed from the sinister influence or control of special interests. Exactly as the special interests of cotton and slavery threatened our political integrity before the Civil War, so now the great special business interests too often control and corrupt the men and methods of government for their own profit. We must drive the special interests out of politics. That is one of our main tasks to-day. Every special interest is entitled to justice, but not one is entitled to a vote in Congress, to a voice on the bench, or to representation in any public office. The Constitution guarantees protection to property, and we must make that promise good. But it does not give the right of suffrage to any corporation.
In order to restore fiscal order throughout this country and for every citizen it is entirely clear that we must have government supervision of the capitalization, not only of public-service corporations, including, particularly, energy corporations, but of all corporations doing an international business. Corporations must act in a manner that keeps our country competitive and as a leader in the world any corporation that performs contrary to this countries interest in pursuit of profit, will not be tolerated. The rights of citizens and this country must be honored above the profits of corporations.
Just as supervision and control should be exercised over public-service corporations and should be extended to combinations which control necessities of life, such as meat, oil, or coal, or which deal in them on an important scale. There is no doubt that the ordinary man who has control of them is much like ourselves. No doubt he would like to do well, but we want to have enough supervision to help him realize that desire to do well.
Roosevelt believed that the officers, and, especially, the directors, of corporations should be held personally responsible, and to a higher standard, when any corporation breaks the law, they know better, which requires swift and harsh retribution. This is even more so for our elected officials.
For the past eight years this country has been absent from the restraint upon unfair money-getting that has created a small class, group of corporations,---represented by the GOP--- of enormously wealthy and economically powerful corporations and men, whose chief object is to hold and increase their power. These practices must finally come to an end and we must change the conditions which enable these men to accumulate power and reverse the destruction perpetrated on the middle class.
Every practice that was created that goes against the general welfare must be exposed along with the way it came into existence. There is no grudge to a man for a fortune which represents his own power and integrity, when exercised with entire regard to the welfare of his fellows. We grudge no man a fortune in civil life if it is honorably obtained and well used. It is not even enough that it should have been gained without doing damage to the community. We should permit it to be gained only so long as the gaining represents benefit to the community. We must revisit the aggressive policy of more active governmental intervention with regards to social and economic conditions.
If these practices are to continue we must be ready to face not a temporary, but permanent disaster, whether or not brought on by those who will war against us to the knife. Those who oppose reform will do well to remember that ruin in its worst form is inevitable if our national life brings us nothing better than swollen fortunes for the few and the triumph in both politics and business of a sordid and selfish materialism then this great experiment has failed.
One of the fundamental necessities in a representative government such as ours is to make certain that the men to whom the people delegate their power shall serve the people by whom they are elected, and not the special interests. The GOP has abandoned this principle and no representative of that party belongs in the White House, if in any office. Every national officer, elected or appointed, should be forbidden to perform any service if they continue to place Corporations before the Individual.
The GOP and its representatives, John McCain & George Bush, have abandoned long held Democratic values and permitted their alliance with the corrupt corporations in the; Oil, Insurance & Drug Industries; they enacted legislation that enabled a wealthy class to prey upon our entire middle class, causing the loss of millions of homes through Banking policies created by Phil Graham, John McCains economic advisor, and allowed a war policy based on lies to protect oil company assets. They fail to mention a major component of the policy in Iraq that pays out millions of dollars each month to the different terrorist factions so they don’t attack, and pays millions more each month to other terrorists so they don’t steal the materials and allow work to be performed for ongoing construction projects. The added military part of the surge only partially stopped the fighting. The embezzlement and outright fraud of millions of taxpayer dollars every month has a lot to do with it! The GOP has become a rogue entity doing anything and everything to sustain the oil companies assets, except follow Democratic principles. The soldiers that died in WWII would be ashamed. Eisenhower would say "I told you to watch the Industrial Military Complex. It is John McCain that lacks the qualities we need in a leader, being a prisoner does not make him a leader.
If he has not got it, then no law that the wit of man can devise, no administration of the law by the boldest and strongest executive, will avail to help him. We must have the right kind of character—character that makes a man, first of all, a good man in the home, a good father, and a good husband—that makes a man a good neighbor. You must have that, and, then, in addition, you must have the kind of law and the kind of administration of the law which will give to those qualities in the private citizen the best possible chance for development. The prime problem of our nation is to get the right type of good citizenship and, to get it, we must have progress, and our public men must be genuinely progressive.
When John McCain says Obama is going to tax us, he’s right, because us, means the three most corrupt industries in existence, Oil, Insurance, & the Drug industries. John McCain may be an honored veteran, but he did not leave the Vietnam war a whole person, he is an angry man, that wants to continue war, maybe because he never got retribution for what the Viet Cong did to him. I don’t know, but our great leaders would never support a war that was conducted to please a corporation or our countries inability to live within its means, Wars are a last resort, always! McCain holds much internal hostility and has shown it many times in the Senate. He is not a balanced person and I believe is willing to do terrible things for his own justification from his past. He will bankrupt this country and let corporations run the show. They have just about completed their overthrow, they have already enacted policies where Torture is allowed, Listening to your phone calls, the right to speak out is now illegal, elect John McCain and it will be over!
There is no doubt or debate that Senator McCain is very old and has made consistent mistakes with the subject matter he has claimed himself to be an expert; he stated there is an Iraq-Pakistan border, he bungled the Anbar timeline, in an interview he didn’t know the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite. In addition, he had his impromptu singing debut with Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, ---Bomb Iran followed weeks later with jokes about the deaths of Iranian citizens afterwards denying making those jokes, despite it being on tape. These confirm that this expert label regarding security issues, are simply his own creation, manufactured by his own hallucinations, and followed y the RNC cheerleaders.
On the domestic side of the equation, McCain’s long time economic advisor (Phil Graham) called the American people whiners for worrying about the economy, claiming we are hallucinating concerning any economic problems, this coming from the man responsible for deregulating the banks and their handling of mortgages. Then McCain discredited Social Security, calling it,” a total disgrace” and a failed government program,(I guess if it is not a private corporation and one person on top hordes millions, it is not a success for Republicans), and after McCain and company gets to continue the Bush/McCain, special interest corporate society, there won’t be any programs left alive for citizens.
These things are problematic enough and contradict the GOP claims John McCain is a credible candidate, but even more disturbing is this party’s consistent discharge of Lies and vary demeaning attacks on Senator Obama’s character along with the distortions concerning his accomplishments. They continue despite Obamas’ continuous attempts to have a civil discourse and despite his praise for McCain’s service. No matter what, the Republican response is to continue with deceit and outright lies. The GOP’s complete domination by big oil has destroyed this party’s credibility. I’m sure the oil companies picked the governor from Alaska to make sure McCain was being monitored by one of their own. When you look at these facts on this Governor and realize she has a 1 in 6 chance of becoming president just from the standpoint of McCain’s age, not even considering his previous health concerns. The only rational person that would not consider this a disaster is the oil companies. Since their in charge of the GOP anyway they can rule through her.
But lets be honest about the Governor and especially in comparing her to Senator Obama.
The Republicans are claiming she is a reformer and challenged the special interest, Facts:
Here's a candidate survey published in October 2006, shortly before the election. We sent out written questions to candidates, and they returned responses.

1. How would your administration move forward on a natural gas pipeline? How does your plan compare with the proposal negotiated by the Murkowski administration? All qualified and viable proposals will be considered. The Stranded Gas Development Act no longer applies. We will introduce a bill seeking a "law of general application." The bill will set forth key requirements, such as access to gas for Alaska communities, jobs for Alaskans, pre-construction benchmarks, expansion provisions, reasonable tariff structure and legislative approval. The bill will also set forth incentives to qualified applicants that guarantee quick commencement.
2. Do you believe the state should demand a firm construction start date for a gas line, despite the uncertainties of construction costs, permits and financing? Yes. If the state is going to offer incentives - and award them to a specific proposal - it is reasonable to expect a firm start date. Otherwise, other proposals need to be given the opportunity to begin construction.
3. Do you support the natural gas reserves tax on the Nov. 7 ballot? If it passed, how would that affect your negotiations with the producers on a gas pipeline? I am opposed. This initiative is akin to taxing income before it is even earned. The way to get an agreement on building a pipeline is to negotiate - not litigate.
4. Do you support the Petroleum Profits Tax passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Murkowski? If no, why not? My preference was a tax on the gross price with a price-progressive index. We need to see how companies apply the tax credits within the law. If the credits are abused and Alaska is shortchanged, changes will be proposed. The intent of the credits is to encourage new exploration and infrastructure development.
5. Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges? Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now - while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.
As you can see she was in favor of expediting the oil companies production without hesitation, but more interesting is Republicans claimed she was against the bridge to nowhere, Clearly that’s not the case she submitted in question 5.
The Republicans continue to distort and Lie concerning Obama’s accomplishments and now even compare him with the governor, and claiming her to have a superior resume and his accomplishments insignificant?
Robert Creamer is a long time political organizer and takes the time in the following article excerpt to be specific, but Honest?
Just 20 months ago she was the part time mayor of Wasilla - a town of 9,000. Unless you count living in a state that is across the Bering Straight from Siberia, she has zero experience with anything remotely resembling foreign or security policy. And she has only been Governor of Alaska for two and a half years.
Voters want their leaders to be on their side. In this case that means they must favor the change people believe they need. But they also want a threshold level of experience -- demonstrated ability as a strong effective leader -- especially from a President. Barack Obama spent eight years as a State Senator (representing a district 10 times as large as Wasilla), and four years in the U.S. Senate. In addition he has demonstrated his abilities as a strong effective leader by organizing one of the most effective campaigns for President in American history. He has shown his ability to hire great staff, to manage a sprawling 50 state organization, and effectively communicate and inspire millions of Americans.
His recent trip to Europe and the Middle East, his effective campaign, his depth of knowledge of the issues, his temperament and judgment -- have begun to convince most voters that he has passed the "commander-in-chief" test.
It will be hard for most American's to imagine Sarah Palin as Commander-in-Chief. That's not because she is a woman. People can now easily imagine Hillary Clinton in that role. It's because they have no reason on earth to believe that she could fill the role of the most powerful leader in the world.
Finally, McCain chose a running mate that is currently under investigation for using here position as Governor to settle a score with her ex-brother-in-law who was also a state trooper. This investigation may provide a good portion of the narrative that defines Palin for most Americans. It will raise three questions in voter's minds:
* Abuse of office for personal ends. Alaska's former commissioner of public safety claims that the Governor fired him -- at least in part because he refused to fire her ex-brother-in-law who was involved in a bitter custody case with her sister.
* Vindictiveness. Palin's crusade against her ex-brother-in-law (who - in fairness -- does not sound like a very nice fellow) has apparently gone on for some time. Voters like tough. They don't like vindictive and mean.
* Administrative ability. Palin's replacement for commissioner of public safety had to resign two weeks after she appointed him because he had been reprimanded for sexual harassment in a previous job. So much for her ability to vet appointees.
Of course the final question the Palin appointment raises is McCain's own judgment and administrative ability. McCain had only talked to his new running made twice before he asked her to join the ticket. Someone said yesterday that they knew their barista at Starbucks better than McCain knew the person who -- if he were elected -- would be a heart beat away from stepping into the most powerful position in the World. What was he thinking?
