I highly recommend this you tube video. I think this is what we need as we are about to embark on the Democratic national Convention, to remind ourselves of where we are and who is to blame and how John McCain is wanting to continue on this very destructive path that will keep America and the World on a path of destruction.
Enjoy!

ONE LOVE
I have written a blog post on here today and a few on the general blog. I stated what my concerns and may othersin the working class are and was given a whole bunch of non-sensicle but informative responses. I think as supporters of Obama and the Democratic Party each and everyone has an obligation to inform and stand up for those less fortunate than ourselves.
During the Primaries the pundits when crazy dissecting states into White working class, African American, latina, College Educated, under-educated, illegal, legal immigrants.. you name it. For me this is all nonsense and I can care less wha demographic one wants to classify me as or others around me.
What I am concerned about is everyday necessities. I do not own a house, I rent and am very content with doing so. I have Health care through my employer and I'm lucky that I don't get sick often, have no know medical ailments, and practice holistic, alternative methods to allow nature and my body to heal itself. If I get a cut I use salt and water and then treat with aloe. If I have a cold, I use kleenex and some really good bush medicine. If I have the flu, i drink lots of orange juice. If i am restricted I drink castor oil in a cup of warm water. I say all of this to say I don't depend on the Government or anyone else to take care of me.
For many of the working class folks who are stuck in neutral slowly sliding backwards instead of forward where is the help that we need from our communities. Government cannot solve all of our problems is true, but Government can regulate industries and set policies that works for everyone on a community based level. Instead of having 16 dealerships on one strip communities need to curb the expansion of these conglomerates by allowing only a certain amount of licenses. What purpose do they serve, They do not provide job stability because without a viable economy they are forced to close leaving an eyesore and causing taxpayers more in the community because of an abandoned building.
Walmart, Target, Carnival, etc are not giving working class folks any relief. I do not like to see food being wasted. These Giants make enough money from working class folks to be able to give back when people are suffering. I work in Transportaton and know that they refuse a delivery if there is damage to the boxes or the container they come in. These refused items are then taken to a Warehouse where they are sold to the smaller stores like 0.99 cent stores etc. This should not happen. In the end the consumer is still having to pay no matter what. everyone but the consumer makes a dollar and the return to the consumer is a net loss. Monopolizing the market is big business and in the end the only ones who suffer are the working class.
Health care should be affordable for all. The Government needs to subsidize local clinics so the cost is around $10-20 for non life threatening illnesses. Everyone can afford to pay that, it doesn't put a strain on working class folks and helps the nation maintain it health. My Grandmotheres are 100 and 92 and they live on a rural island but they are happy, healthy and always praying. They do not believe in going to the Dr's office everytime they have a cold. Luckily for them they live next to the ocean so a swim in the ocean can cure any bug.
Gas prices are not going down. And the faster people realize that there is no going back the better America will be. Compared to many other countries fuel here is still cheap. Americans are use to everything being cost effective but this is a Global economy now and the 90's are long gone. I think the "high" cost of fuel is good for America becausee it will energize the innovative ingenuity of The American People to once again show the World how to survive in a stagnant economy. The ends will justify the means. NO DRILLING! Accept the cost as it is today and work toward energy independence.
I am a single mother of a 12 yr old, went to College have a great career but still can't get ahead. I am frustrated because no matter how hard I work my credit is still bad. I am slowly paying my debt but the collectors say they only report to the Credit Beaureas after the debts are paid in full. This means that I can pay on my debt for years and still have bad credit. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT. I tried earlier this year to finance a car, I went to Drivers Select which said they can finance anyone and will not turn anyone down. What they didn't say in their advertisement is that if you have bad credit you will need to put $3-5000 down. IF I HAD THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY WHY WOULD I WANT TO FINANCE A CAR? I went to a chevy dealership and was told the same thing. I even went to a couple tote the note dealerships and was told the same thing.
I moved to America for a better opportunity and am held down by credit score. Within a 50 mile radius of my home I would estimate there to be over 200 dealerships that are filled to capacity with automobiles. Does it serve them better to have a car lot filled with cars than to actually put people into them?
Why can't they finance people based on their income and length of time on the job? THIS IS CRAZY! I receive a bi-weekly check and manage my monies living within my budget. I pay old debt and current student loans etc. Why can't I get a vehicle? I am not looking for a luxury car, I am looking for one that is reliable and within my budget.
I have a suggestion for the dealerships out there.
1) STOP ASKING FOR MONEY DOWN. The economy is terrible and we don't have$3-5000 to give you in a lump sum.
2) AUTOMATIC DEBIT. Have the buyer present a payroll deduction form to have monies taken out of their checks before it is deposited to the banks. This ensures that the payments are made on time, without fail.
This is a way to ensure that you are turning over inventory and helping those who meet payroll deduction requirments, and everyone is happy.
Just my 2cents what do you think?
I think the Obama team needs to argue for The American people in Offense. Obama needs to get back on a tighter message and not repeat The Republican talking points. GET BACK IN THE RACE. Obama is one of the most inspirational speaker iv'e heard in my lifetime. He needs to look at this race as a debate and not dumb up for McCain this is what the Repugs want. He needs to rest and regain his focus. I am happy that he is taking next week to visit with his Grandmother and relax with his family. His fatigue is showing and he seems beat. Barack think about the honor that you are pleading for from The American People. You do not have to be tough enough to beat John McCain. You can be smart enough to beat John McCain. beat him with your brains. He cannot think for himself, he is a puppet. Cares nothing about the poor and middle class in America nether does he care about anyone else in the World. He sold his soul to the devil. You are "Blessed". Take this gift and LEAD the American People and The World and it will definately CHANGE.
May God continue to shine his light upon you and watch over you and your family. May he grant you many more years of celebration of your life here on Earth. We love you and wish God's annoiting and Blessings upon you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

I don't even know where to begin. I feel confused alot of the time but not weak in my fustrations... I was born in the 1976 in The Bahamas. I have wonderful memories of growing up in the Islands where the biggest threat to society was getting pregnant at a young age. Life was not simple in a emblemistic point of view but simple from a not in a rush. My formative years were during the mid 80's -90's so life as I knew it was pretty awesome. When President Clinton became POTUS I was 14yrs old...I can remember it oh so clearly so for me he was the Greatest icon from the Americas for me. Being from the Caribbean our Culture is one of Festivity, commradierie, Fellowship, Community, Patriotic etc, I love the sound of the Goat skin drums, cowbells and steel drums, the way we whine, and jirate our bodies to the rythm of the music. many of my Latina/o brothers and sisters can attest to this. Times have definately changed and I know that my Generation has a leader., And his name is Barack Obama. I see him as a representation of my Generation not of Black America or White America or whatever division anyone wants to find I see him as someone who speaks to me like Bob Marley did in my parents time, or like how Buju Banton(One of the best from my time) or Shabba Ranks etc... I say this to say I have so much in common with Barack and Michelle and so many of you who have rallied behind him in support of his vision. I am not skeptical at all. I know he can accolpish what he has laid out for you America. I know that he is exactly what you feel him to be , because you listened with your heart first America. then you followed with your mind. That is what this is all about America. There are many in our Generation, My Generation out there who knows and wants CHANGE! ALL AROUND THE WORLD NO MATTER WHAT YOUR GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION WE ARE READY FOR A LEADER OF OUR GENERATION.
That Leader is Barack Hussein Obama. This is a Generational Fight and to conquor this fight so FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE can prevail.
This is Destiny my Friends, This is Our Generations Destiny.
ONE LOVE!

Although I never finished College I don't see myself as less educated than those who have accomplished this most auspicious fate. I can say that I do have my formal years from Pre-School to High school to attribute to my ability to think for myself and remain open to always learning. I went to a public elementary School(big up C.W. Sawyer Primary, Nassau, Bahamas) and learned such wonderful subjects as Reading, Writing, Music, Literature, Geography, History(Bahamian, American, World) etc and also attribute my sound midedness to the many great warriors of Education who I admire to day who were attributed to my education. I can remember in 6th grade going on a Saturday to take my entrance exam for one of The Best Private Schools in The Bahamas.. if not the Best... St. Johns College which my sister was already attending. I passed my entrance exam and gained entrance to this great alma mater of Mine. My family wee not rich, we were and still ae Middle Class, . I have learned so much and now living in the US can draw comparisons on my education and the Educatonal system in The Bahamas and that of the US. There is a stark difference. I feel more concentration needs to be directed to the Science, Literature, Arts, Econimcs, Commerce, Tying etc. just food for thought. Educate the CHILDREN THEY ARE THE FUTURE.
HERE IS A LITTLE LATIN FOR YA... MY HIGH SCHOOL MOTTO...
