Hum? I know I am far from a genius, but It does not take a genius to figure out that DEMOCRACY+SUPER DELEGATES=UNFAIR. Now isn’t America “supposed” to be a “democratic” type ran party? Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t democracy mean a government by the people, especially role of majority; a system of representations usually involving periodically held free elections? well that’s what it means according to Merian Webster…Now it is obvious that Barack is winning most of the popular votes, which means a lot of Americans support him. However, Hillary is known in the office, the white house is familiar with her, so don’t you think that the super delegates will favor her despite our votes?
I thought that every votes counts? Isn’t that what democracy teaches us? Well maybe its false consciousness, maybe they teach us that so Americans can be dumb enough to believe that we have a say so…I think its some illusion that our votes counts because all in the end IT DOESN’T!!! So why do we caucus, why do we donate thousands of dollars to help those we support when in reality we do not mean anything? It was a very interesting topic held today in sociology…all in the end the elite rules again, those that do not have to worry about health care, education, civil rights, poverty, etc. etc. those are universal issues…the common folk are not CEO’s, high ranking politicians, or high ranking military soldiers, they make up a small percentage yet all in the end they make the ultimate decisions.
Hum?? I do not know about you but it doesn’t sound at all democratic to me!
*Vote Barack*MARCH 4!!!
“YES WE CAN!”--we have to!
*Vote Barack*(or should we?)
“YES WE CAN!”
Hi, I am Young and In love (with what the future holds) but now I am DISGUSTED!!! I am a freshman in college, in a public speaking class, and I decided to do my persuasive speech on VOTING FOR BARACK OBAMA. I decided to talk about the importance of what he has to offer this country, his contributions, change and how desperately the country is in need of it etc. Well I have just started this knowingly long journey of research and I am already disgusted. Why you ask? Well even though it may seem like so many people love Mr. Obama, there are still those very close-minded, ignorant, conservative people, that can’t see past race. That is very unfortunate even though I still believe that those are just a small percentage of people at the bottom of the barrel, barely making it through society, and want to blame someone for their consistent everyday issues.
Also in the quest of this project we had to ask the class questions to see where they stand in your speech whether they agreed or disagreed with your issue or concern…well I was not surprised to see that four people in my class was totally against him, (and all of them have one thing in common they are from VERY small/rural cities) about 6 agreed totally on him and they were all about my age (younger), and most of the class was undecided and needed more information about him. That tells me that I could possibly make change, I could possibly change about 35-40 peoples minds by my speech…I just want any advise on the best way I should go about this, approach this, and make it turn out right???
Any suggestions…well if so could you email me at class_07readytoshine@yahoo.com thanks.
*YES WE CAN!!!*
I am 18 years old, this is my first year having the honor and privilege to vote. Fortunately I am able to vote for not only an African American, but a highly respected and intelligent African American, now please do not get it wrong, that is not the only reason that I am voting for him, because if it were one of our average commonly known so call spokesmen (Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson) I would not vote for them. People like them will only bring shame to our community and we will be made out of a mockery . I was never the type that liked US.Gov., World History, let alone politics but Obama has definitely done a superb job with targeting the young voters more specifically the college students. I have never heard so many of my friends talk about politics before, and have a more clear understanding of what is going on, rather than just the general knowledge of just who is running.
Obama talks a lot about hope…and YES I believe WE CAN but hope is not what Obama needs in this campaign…he needs us as his supporters standing behind him the entire way. Fortunately he has a strong headed spouse supporting him and some strong leaders out supporting him, but WE are his biggest endorsements (my dad explained that whole theory to me), and I’m sure he appreciates everything we have to offer him. Personally my cell phone is glued to me, I support Barack more on my cell phone than anywhere, I get all of his latest texts, breaking news, endorsements, his website is saved under my favorites and the list continues…HE IS ABOUT TO MAKE CHANGE IN 08!!!
