We heard the news today about the nation’s economy.
“The differences are clear in this election and yet the polls are so close.” Jack cafferty, moments ago. I can’t agree more and I simply wonder why that is; The differences are clear in this election.
Today, after couple of weeks, thinking in my head—it appears Sen. McCain and his campaign—especially after the selection of Sarah Paling, are slowly stealing away the Presidential election: what I thought would go easily to the democrat. But I got back that feeling that Sen. Obama still has the chance to, and advantage—with the hope that he will seize this moment, and make the state of the economy has troubling as it is today a game changer in this election.
In one sentence , I hope Sen. Obama will get to the specifics and tell the American people—especially the middle class, what he will do to better their lives—me especially.
Economic specifics on a 1 2 3 basis that gets to the core in a way that average Americans can understand. These economic specifics I think would be the game changer in this election.
My hopes are high again,- only if Sen. Obama can seize this moment and make it a game changer.
Michelle Obama did a fine job today-at least for most of what was reported today, most especially her interview on CNN with Caroline Kennedy sitting by her side. There is no doubt she is an asset to Barack Obama,- asset to this campaign.
I believe seeing more of Michelle Obama-given interviews- on any of the national network, at this critical time, I think will do this campaign a lot of good. Moreover, fielding Caroline Kennedy too would yield similar result. I saw a sense of confidence in Michelle and Caroline, and that is what this campaign needs right now. It was sure inspiring to me-after these long halls of boring issues of late.
Sen. Obama needs to get back on message and more of Michelle Obama on the trail.
If we can just remind our self’s of the old adage, the “truth is better,” then- what as been tagged, or made controversial, by the duo of Sen. Clinton, Sen. McCain and the media, will have resonance and be swallowed well,-knowing the remarks are factual and addresses a real issue.
The campaign I suppose has gone-on for too long; therefore, politicians just find ways of distracting us. Sen. Obama's remarks is what it is; they are factual and I don’t see any reason why anyone would want to take that out of context or use that as a political means to score points.
Pennsylvanians and voters across the country, I believe are intelligent people that can make their own judgments based on facts- without falling prey into the hands of politicians who just say whatever has to be said to win votes and tear people down to make political points. Let’s face the facts, those comments made by Sen. Obama, addresses the issue of the day: majority of the people, have no, or, have lost confidence in their government.
The truth is bitter- let’s be real with ourselves. What do you make of it?
It is a Negro spiritual-hymn (excerpts from hymnal). On Aug 28, 1963 at a rally at the Lincoln Memorial, the Negro spiritual was invoked in a powerful oratory; and for me- it’s been my finest quote.
As we remember Dr. Martin Luther King’s tragic assassination today- 40years after- It reminds me of this fine quote; Dr. King invoked the Negro spiritual in his closing statement-powerful as it were-- Free at Last! Free at Last! Thank God Almighty we are Free at Last!
This campaign season epitomize Dr. King’s legacy... Hurray! This country has come far.
Why is the media not reporting the Obama endorsement by the retired military officers- the same way they did Clinton-some weeks back; I’m yet to see the same coverage.
Is the media bias here? …am I missing something
Sen. Obama today reiterates that he is running for President, not as Vice President.
He did what he’d to do, and it was a tough line; at least- I liked it. The Clinton camp apparently threw this Vice Presidency argument to play politics, now, here is a candidate, and from every count- is in the second place running- in this contest, and yet somehow trying to downplay the position of the person running first; that is just beyond me.
However, I think after today- talking about running for President not as Vice President, he should get back on message. Again, the Clinton camp- appears playing politics to dictate the debate on the trail; this does not pose well for the Obama campaign. Responding to the Clinton camp on allegations and hitting back hard is good, but it also signify- that in fact she’s the one dictating the debate.
I’ve the confidence, and I hope Sen. Obama would deal with this tactically and with great wisdom-so that we can win this nomination
There is every need to get tough on Hillary Clinton; I expect by now- serious punch from Sen.Obama. I was surprised the way this campaign headquarters handled the “kitchen Sink” Clinton strategy before Tuesdays voting.
Sen. Obama needs to, and should consider seriously sharpening his critique of Hillary Clinton- I don’t see enough has been done so far. This is the third time- and this time, she seems to have benefited from her “Kitchen Sink” Strategy. My surprise was that- it seems this campaign was not prepared- was cut off guard, and couldn’t manage the situation that ravaged few days before the Tuesday election.
Sen. Clinton and her campaign has devised a way of playing rough politics- just few days to, or the-eve of election day, and its working out for her. I think Sen. Obama needs to get tough, say something about her that will resonate with the people, bring out the facts, and ask some simple questions that are yet to be answered.
What’s the deal about her 35yrs (Claimed) experience. She’s getting a free ride on this.
What’s her foreign policy experience. She’s getting a free pass on this.
Does being a former first lady qualifier her to be commander- in- chief ?
Where and when did she meet with these foreign leaders, what foreign policy did they discuss?
We need to hear that punch, knock- out punch thrown at Sen. Clinton. This would reassure supporters and those in doubt, that Sen. Obama is ready to face tough challenges. I’ve no doubt, he’s capable, but what I hear and watch on TV is not something that gladdens my heart.
WHEN IS THIS CAMPIGN GOING TO KNOCK- A HEAVY PUNCH?
A blogger raised this question today “how many people can honestly answer that everyone has gotten a promotion or a new job based on experience.” This is a legitimate question and the answer is yes and no. Experience most of the time is not only the precursor of being promoted, but can get one a job. Barack and Hillary both have a job right now- they are both Senators. Likewise, both are applying for a promotion to be president of the United States. I think experience alone; regardless of whichever has the most- would not do to get that promotion.
Hillary lately sharpened her contrast with Obama on this experience issue. In these primaries; I can’t but reason it’s ludicrous- to toll this line and somehow think longevity on a job, or in Washington- in Hillary’s case would automatically qualify her for a promotion; a promotion to be president. Several years of experience or longevity in any field is no guarantee for success if assigned to a specific task. Judgment, persona, and integrity matter the most; Hillary Clinton- in this case, is short of these traits. She can’t compete with Obama on these. These valued traits are the most important quality people should base their judgments on whom to vote. Whoever exemplifies these qualities between these two, I strongly think should get the promotion.
Obama’s experience, Judgment, Persona and Integrity, I strongly believe supersedes Hillary Clinton’s 35 years experience she’s been claiming. This makes Barack Obama better qualified to be the democrats’ nominee and qualifies him to be the next president of the United States. Enough of this- best qualified to be commander-in-chief based on longevity in Washington.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Without any doubt, it’s very clear--after tonight’s debate, what I saw and heard tonight and I’m sure you did too, Senator Obama won tonight’s debate, he was PRESIDENTIAL, COOL, CALM and POISE. I've said it before, it’s Obama's time. Our time has come!!!
The Clintons had their opportunity in the past; they served well. It’s time to move on. Senator Obama will be the democrats’ nominee and the next President of the United States.
Senator Obama needs to tread the lines cautiously not to make any mistake. This streak of wins gives the cynics a stomachache. The cynics, the Clintons, after the events of the past days-- now they say, they are waiting for “Obama to stumble big-so this wave in the air, and momentum, should stop.” These antics by the Clinton’s and their surrogates will fail- that’s my prayers. That being said, I hope Senator Obama would watch his back-more so, in this critical moment.
Tread gently Senator, and watch your back!
OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT
My comments a short while ago.
In my bones, I feel somehow, this campaign would take Texas, or Ohio and that will be the big headline on March 4. I've been very worried-because I feel Senator Obama is not really doing enough-solidly, to counter the dirty politics from the Clinton’s camp. I think though, the Senator is right on target this time--here is excerpt from (CNN) Ticker — Barack Obama accused opponent Hillary Clinton Friday of “defending Washington lobbyists” and special interests.“Yesterday, Sen. Clinton unveiled her latest in a long line of slogans, which argues that she’s proposed solutions while others have not,” said Obama, who returned to the campaign trail in Wisconsin after a one-day break. He said both candidates had good ideas but that Washington was a place “where good ideas go to die. They’re the victim of petty, partisan politics, point-scoring, and special interest influence that’s out of control. …“You know, after defending Washington lobbyists as people who ‘represent real Americans’ at a debate in August, Sen. Clinton said yesterday that she would take them on as president,” said Obama, who alleged the New York senator had taken almost twice as much money from lobbyists as any other presidential candidate this cycle.“That’s not being a part of the solutions business. That’s being a part of business-as-usual in Washington,” said Obama.More sharp criticisms like these from Obama, I think would finally put a nail on the Clinton's antics. In my bones, I feel somehow, this campaign would take Texas, or Ohio and that will be the big headline on March 4.
What we saw tonight was a debate of substance, and a sharp contrast. I'm glad with Obama's approach, it clearly shows ones again, he's a unifier,-reference to his opening statement and the clip we saw after the debate,-the warm exchange.
I strongly believe, now, more than ever before, that-- Senator Obama would emerge as the democrat nominee. I’ve said this before, - because he conducts honorable campaign, and have been consistent on his message, and sure equipped with the kind of leadership we need at the white house.
The polls might not be looking good right now, but I sense somehow he'd in-fact emerge, and win the fall election.
I SEE AN ANOITED LEADER THAT WOULD LEAD THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. OBAMA.
I dont have much to say, than congratulate those who care about this campaign. This win, is a big deal, a big win indeed.
Shame onto the Clinton's machine, this should sound a signal, that-- the American people will not fall for the clinton's chip old political tactics.
I'm excited. GO OBAMA.
This is the first time; in all of the debates on the democrat’s side that I have seen Senator Obama really take on Mrs. Clinton on very important issues that differentiate them.
I am glad today-that Obama really came out strongly in the debate, that been said-I think people should be able to make judgment on who is consistent on all the issues. That fellow is BARACK OBAMA.
Senator Obama left no stone unturned. Excellent Debate!
This is the first time; in all the debates on the democrat’s side, that I have seen Senator Obama really take on Mrs. Clinton on very important issues that differentiate them.
I am glad today-that Obama really came out strongly in the debate. That been said, I think people in south carolina will be able to make judgment on who is consistent on all the issues and best to lead this country. That fellow is BARACK OBAMA.
Did I hear she is the projected winner, or she wins Nevada? Folks, apparently she wins largely where you have the population-same way she won in New Hampshire. We can say this was very close, but bottom line we didn’t do well. I hope there will be a lot of focus in strategy, largely where we have a large concentration of people in South Carolina.
I want to win!!!! A win will be good in SOUTH CAROLINA. Focus largely, strategy wise, in the largely populated areas.
We all want to win.
It’s worthy of praise, on how Senator Obama has handled the apparent Clinton's campaign of race in the past couple of days. Staying above the fray as Senator Obama did, and have been doing, is commendable. However, it still makes sense to speak about these things in getting out the right message and throwing out some thoughts about my personal analysis of happenings since Friday and today. I’m aware of the MSNBC debate coming up later today and debate coming up before the North Carolina Primaries. It’s fair to say ,in this defining moment in the American history, when we’ve a viable candidate such as Senator Obama emerging strongly, after Iowa and New Hampshire- to say the list, sending a message that resonate with the American people in a way that transcends racial barriers, a commendable course such that we have not seen in decades,is very refreshing.
For the Clinton's to be playing what appears to be a race card, and the way they’ve been going about it in these campaign-just so to win votes, is unfortunate and appalling. I sense this race issue is just to provoke, stir up discomfort in the white communities. A strategy that aims to propel Senator Obama as just one of the same old politicians. I’m confident that Barack Obama knows better, please Senator, distance your self has you have been doing in the past-that been said, defend your self Strongly, contrasting Senator Clinton, and Senator, please articulate those issues of change that you want to bring to the white house.
I look forward to a good showing tonight Senator, and a fine showing in other debates coming up.A show, that centre round the issues of the American economy, health care, education, hate crime, civil rights, and those things that affects the average American people.
Folks, we can still congratulate our selfs even with these result- lets keep the momentum, fired up and ready to go.
I have a lot of folks in Navada that I am calling up now- please do the same.
This is Unfortunate!
I watch Former President Clinton in what appears to be a frustration of Hillary’s campaign. Taken a sharp criticism of Senator Obama, and speaking for Hillary, with the kind of words spoken by the former President today- is unfortunate.
What the former president said today, I predict would further weaken Mrs. Clintons bid for the democrats nomination. By the time they come to terms with what is real it’d be too late.
Blaming the media for the attention on Senetor Obama, is a clear indication of frustration. This is ludicrous and unfortunate!
