Has anyone listed to c-span's Washington Journal? If I drank alcohol, I'd be an alcoholic today. Just tune in one morning, listen then scream your brains out. Listening to ill-informed potential voters gives me a hangover. Did you know the world is going to come to an end if Barck becomes president? Yep, that's what the 'new' phrase for callers. The negative campaign that John McCain and his cronies put out there for consumption do work. A political pundent yesterday was having a conversation with Rachel Maddow and pointed out that 'we know this commercial about him not visiting the injured soldiers in Germany was not intentional and totally out of line, et. al.' Michael Smerconish (sp?) said, 'don't give the American Electorate that much credit". He is so right. Most of the American voters are stupid. Yes, stupid! I think anyone who wants to vote for a President should have to answer a questionnaire to determine if they are qualified to vote. Perhaps, what year is it, name two state u.s. representatives, who their congressman is, who was the first president of the u.s.? If they pass a test or just get two answers right, then let these people vote.
I am appauled, but not surprised about the ongoing dirty politics of the right-wingers and the new right winger (mostly the over 65 crowd) Jewish voters. Most people of the Jewish faith 'were' dye in the wool democrats their entire lives. They are falling for the poltics of fear. "He is a muslim, he will not defend Israel, he is not to be trusted", and last but not least, the unspoken fear of a black man being President of the US. As an example, a Men and Women's Club at a nearby Temple have 'endorsed' John McCain. Growing up, politics were not brought into our place of workship. What is going on here? By mentioning Barack Obama's name in certain Jewish circles is cause for outbursts of hate and total bias. My grandfather, Ben, was a Russian immigrant. He instilled in my mother, myself, sister etc. about the importance of being a democrat. He believed in justice and equality for all, not just a chosen few. To embrace all people, regardless of race and help poor and the middle class to rise up and live the American dream. George Bush and his crowd have ruined this Country. Take a look around you: The 'in'justice department, constant scandals, our loss of civil liberties, ad infinitum. Okay, I suppose some Jewish voters now believe in the continuing politics of fear, being naive and uninformed on most issues, having a third term for Bush. Did you know Joe Liberman went to the biggoted Hagey event in DC? I do not want to suffer for your stupidity.
Iraq has caused more problems for Israel than ever before. Al Queeda in Iraq? Was there such a thing before we invaded? No. Iran and their nuclear program. Would it have begun had it not been for our illegal invasion? Doubt it. These factors, among others, have left Israel less safe, not more. These Jewish voters should think back to their parents who more than likely would be ashamed of their children and grandchildren and how their values have changed over the years. Shame on all of you!
