I would like to encourage everyone who agrees to write Whitehouse.gov about what the CEO's of the car companies are planning. I think it is an embarrassment that all they can come up with is to lay more people off and cut pay they are only contributing to the recession. President Obama asked for retooling to build the energy efficient cars of the future. What about that do they not get? Please write Whitehouse.gov or call the whitehouse if you agree.

I received an email from MoveOn.org to make a contribution to run ads in the states of Senators who may be more open to voting for the recovery bill. Notice I am not using stimulous bill like much of MSM. They are clueless and don't even know what it is. I have spent much of the week calling congress and sending emails. Obviously they do not care what we voted for on Nov 4th. If you can please contribute to MoveOn so the American people can see exactly what their represenatives are NOT doing. We need a much larger movement now. The republicans have choses the far right road to go down with the same failed tax cut policies that got us here. This is our only time to see real change and it will not happen unless we make lots of noise. President Obama can not lead us into the future alone. Susan

New demand for change

I have been paying close attention to what has happened since the election and especially since the arrest of the corrupt Gov B. in IL. I cannot even express the outrage I feel at the MSM,far right republicans and the hatemongers on rightwing radio and websites. Our President we worked so hard to get elected is being attacked at for everything he says or does. Yesterday when I turned on CNN for the press conference about healthcare appts of course I knew there would be questions about the IL gov. It was the coverage afterwards that made me balistic. On the screen''Obama and ties to Gov B.'' ''Obamas first scandal'' Remember how we flooded the media outlets during the campaign when they unfairly attacked him and how we called and faxed and emailed members of congress about the 700 billion bailout fror wallstreet, Well now is the time to do it again. If we don't these people who are owned by lobbiests and big corporations will block everthing on Obamas agenda and we will get NO change. We worked hard to take back this country and they are determined not to give it back. We must fight against the power that refuses to support the people. Example, not giving a loan to the car companys but an unending supply for wallstreet. My idea, I don't know if you have signed up for a house meeting yet. I have signed up for one on Jan 4th. I say we use part of these meetings to hand out the phone, fax and email adresses of all the media outlets and the members of congress who are intent on stopping any change coming to the people. We owe this to Obama and our country. What we did during the campaign we must do again or all of what we fought for will fail. We are fighting far reaching corrupt politicians determined to hold on to what they have so please,lets use these meetings and our contacts to demand the support of what the people voted for. REAL CHANGE Remember,our president did not win by a small margin. Its time to make our voices heard again. Susan

dogs for Obama

The first group I joined on the Obama website is ''Dogs for Obama'' My profile page has a picture of my dogs with bandanas that say''Bark if you love Obama'' They have been wearing them for months. Now I understand our country is facing huge problems and most of the focus is on the economy and getting out of Iraq. But there were many groups including the US Humane society that endorsed Obama for president and they and never endorsed anyone before. Also sarah Palins treatment of animals drew a large controversy as it should have. I would like others on this site who are animal lovers to please email and call just to let HQ know that it is important that the Obama family adopt a pet and not buy from a breeder. There are many breeds of dogs that do not cause allergic reactions and there is a rescue group for just about every breed. The resourses on the web for finding the right pet is unbelivable, especially Petfinder.com. Concidering all of the animal rights groups that were behind Barack Obama for president it would really look bad were the family to shop instead of adopt. I work at a shelter and own a wonderful rescue dog who is a therapy dog who visits the elderly. There are thousands of dogs who need homes already so lets get behind adoption and offer all the resourses we have as animal lovers to the Obama family. Susan Ortiz

Better be scared

I am writting this post because I feel compelled to do so while watching Stand up to cancer on all 3 networks. The reason is simple,what will happen to research and science with a mc Shame and palin administration? It will be cut even more than it already has. Fundamentalist believe what happens is Gods will. They will pray for you to be healed but when that doesn't work out then they use that line. I know this because it has happened in my family twice in the last 2 yrs. My wonderful aunt who was my best friend went to one of those churches and when she was dying of a rare and aggressive cancer we were not allowed to talk about it because she thought if she did then her belief was not strong enough and God would not heal her. These are Sarah palins beliefs as a rightwing fundamentalist. We must work hard and not let them take our freedom or what is left of it. I can't imagine our government being even more owned by this extreme part of the population but it can very well happen with so many uninformed voters who don't even know who this person is or they think her beliefs are just great. We must demand that the press do its job, which they havn't for 8 yrs, and question this women about her backgrond and beliefs. They sure havn't spared Obama! I fear we will wake up to this nitemare in november and wahts worse we will be wishing we had Bush and Cheany back. Could anything be worse? Please donate and work hard for this truthful and compassionate man who is real. Susan in Ga

i have been reading all the post about Hillarys speech last nite and yes it was a good one. One problem though, it does not have any effect on the millions of stupid people who vote without listening or reading one single thing. We all know who we are for because we have bothered to listen and find out who Obama is. There has not been a single move in any of the polls, national or state by state. Nothing! Right now we are stuck. Obama will be speaking to the converted and loyal supporters tomorrow nite. How do you reach people who don't want to be reached and blindly vote for the same disasters cycle after cycle. It is a mind blowing thing to me. And that the lowest income bracket votes republican? What in the hell has a republican ever done for these people except to keep them in line using the bible and fear. Be afraid, be very afraid of those dems. Well, just like last nite the talking heads on both stations are nothing but negative all the way. I don't count Fox as a news station, its the comedy channel. All I hear is Hillary and the divided party, how far down in the polls Obama is, bla, bla,bla. Can there really be that many ignorant people in this country? You don't know who Obama is or what he stands for? Are you living in a cave? I bought 3 new magazines just yesterday all with Obama interviews and articles about where he stands on the issues and his whole family. I guess most americans are happy with the soundbites and are too lazy to read or listen. Is it any wonder we are in the mess we are in when this country was stupid enough to vote for Bush twice and seem poised to do so again? How exciting is this people? This is the best possible fit to the Obama ticket and hopefully some of the people who are still whining about hillary will get over it and move on to help take back our country. Can you imagine if She were the pick? The hatemongers on the far right would already be in full smear mode. They have hated her since she stepped foot in the whitehouse as first lady and that has not changed. Obama is smart enough to know that too. Says he has a lot of republicans at his church but thinks they could be swayed if they knew more about Obama. This could also be held at the Roswell Interculteral alliance center.
