Well, I knew the phone polling would increase as as the NC primary drew near, but I was just push polled at 8:30 on this Sunday evening. The pollster mumbled the name of her company and asked a series of very legitimate-sounding questions about who I'd vote for in a variety of circumstances.
Then it came, a bit mumbled and speedily read, but this is what she said:
"Have you heard the recent news about Barack Obama's spiritual advisor?" Yes. "Did you hear him say that we bombed Hiroshima (I had to pronounce this for her when she stumbled with the word), we bombed Nagasaki and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. Did you know that Barack Obama defended his spiritual advisor's patriotism? Do you agree that Barack Obama should resign from his church? Yes or no?"
At that point I stopped the questioning, defined push-polling to the the by-then shaking voice on the other end of the phone, who was saying "I don't know about it." I told her I wished to end our conversation but not until she told me the name of the company she was working for.
The response? Click. Hum.
Here it comes, folks
