Does Not Need any More Immigrants
There are several American economic myths that the corporate media keep repeating so often that a majority of Americans have come to believe them. One of those myths is that "Illegal immigrants do the jobs that Americans won't do."
That myth has been spread for several decades as a way to excuse the Federal Government for not applying the United States immigration laws, Click Underlined Link:

The US Congress in it's concern for political and religious freedom passed several generous laws allowing "political refugees" political asylum in the United States. On the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan that President Obama has presented to the US Congress.
Former Presidential Candidate John McCain loves to be in the media's lights and has said that he will vote against the President's Plan because "It won't create enough jobs." (!)
John McCain revels in his Maverick! reputation. Is his saying he will vote "No" an attempt to regain credibility with the Republican conservatives who were not pleased with his Presidential Campaign?
In the same interview on "Fox News Sunday" John McCain repeated again his "Lower taxes" campaign speech that independent (and some Republican voters) rejected during the November election.
Or John McCain raising his objections as a bargaining ploy to gain some concession so that he can again play the Maverick! finally voting against the Republican Party's conservative "free market" principles as he "crosses over the aisle" as an example of his "bipartisanship."
Both John McCain and President Obama support the Cap-and-Trade Bill that the US Senate wants to use to impose higher gasoline and utility bill taxes on Americans, Click Underlined Link:

There is an American economic myth that the corporate media keep repeating, Click Underlined Link:
President Bush approved a bridge loan to Chrysler and General Motors that will allow them to continue operating until March 31, 2009. As a part of the deal, the United Auto Workers Union had to agree to cut their their wages down to the level of the "transplant" (BMW, Honda, Nissan and Toyota) manufacturers.
The Detroit automakers must have a plan in March 2009 that they be competitive with the foreign automakers to receive continuing funding. There will be no "Auto Czar" appointed to oversee the companies operations as some in the US Congress wanted.
The "Bush Plan" was also conceived to weaken the UAW as Republicans in the Senate favored a bankruptcy filing, that would have done away with the union contracts completely.

The many Congressional critics of the Detriot automakers don't take into account the many contributions that the industry made to the creation of the affluent lifestyle that there states are now reaping the benefits of.
Besides enabling personal transportation and the spread of commerce thoughout the United States (rather than in just a few big cities as it was before Henry Ford's Model T made it possible for the avearge American to own a car) the auto industry raised the standard of living for the whole country.
Now that there states have attracted "transplant" assembly plants from foreign manufacturers these Republican congressmen would benefit if the US automakers were not in the market, Click:

The writers on their website have no intentions of "reaching across the aisle" as their maverick candidate for president claimed he would do, they are seeking to ressurrect their fundraising operation using the Internet.
A quote from the Republican Internet site: Our technology should give Republican activists the ability to connect with fellow activists at the precinct level. We must encourage the growth of standalone volunteer communities, giving them the tools to organize themselves online, with the official party taking a step back and not trying to control them.
Contrast that with the way the RNC Chairman is selected: Only 168 people vote to pick the next RNC Chairman, you may not have a vote, but you do have a voice. Referring to the new websites' request for ides. We wrote about the Republicans, Click:

The Christmas season is vital to retailers of all the different pricing schemes that define their share of the vast American market. From the "close-out" stores at the bottom up-through the mass market discounters, department stores and the most expensive specialty purveyors of designer apparel and jewlery at the top of the marketing pyramid, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas have the greatest volume of sales (and hopefully profits) of the year for them.
The season is crucial for the United States this year for another reason: it will gauge the effects of the broadcast, print and Internet medias repetition that the "recession" that they have been promoting is the "worst since the great depression" (even President Obama has refered to it using that expression) on the American families' attitude towards carding more financial obligations during the year ahead.
Since ninty-three percent of the American working population is still employed and drawing a regular paycheck their willingness to keep the flow of commerce going is critical to the success of the Obama economic recovery plan.

Trade Agreement started the US down the road we have presently arrived at the dead-end of.
Detroit and the auto industry's problems are not the result of the automakers making vehicles that Americans want to buy and drive, pickup trucks and SUV's, but because not enough American's make enough money at the "service industry" jobs that took the place of the relatively high-paying manufacturing jobs that the US Congress gave away to Mexico and China during the Clinton administration.
Now that the "service industry" and financial sector (where most of the job growth occured during the last twenty years) is experiencing mass layoffs even the highest-paid managers (who benefited the most from "free trade agreements" cannot buy cars because they are out of work also.

Detroit, Michigan's automoble industry is having to resort to asking the Federal Government for financial aid as the high gasoline prices that caused it's current sales problems continue to drop.
Prices at the pump are below $2.00 a gallon (July 4th they were $4.11) and there are surprising results in the October sales figures, Click:
The current gasoline price situation has happen before, in the early 1980's there also was a big run-up in oil prices when "BIG CARS" were the automakers best sellers. It takes several years to design and build new car models; by the time the new small cars were in the dealers showrooms, gasoline prices had fallen again and demand for "small fuel efficient cars" had declined.

The US Congress is considering giving the US Auto Industry $50 billion dollars, how will this affect what Americans' drive in the future?
Vehicle sales in the United States for October:
If we think about Auto Sales in the US by what the broadcast, print and Internet media have been telling us: Americans are only buying the highest mileage rated subcompact cars (in bold in the list from carsdotcom above.)
As gas prices at the pump are down over fifty percent from the July 2 high of $4.11 cents a gallon it appears that Americans are buying the type of vehicles that they really want to drive, full sized pickup trucks.
As the "Big Three" US auto makers are asking the Federal Government for another $50 billion dollars (they have already received $25 billion) to keep going as car sales have dropped to half of what they were a year ago.
As the Congress is due to look at the increased aid to the auto makers in the Lame Duck Session before President Elect Obama is sworn in the new year, the Republicans are against it. The Republicans say that the "free market" should prevail, the automakers should file for bankruptcy to be done with their expensive union contracts.
The Democracts want the Automakers to build higher mileage vehicles like the ones in bold on the carsdotcom list above.

Does President Obama's plan for improving education include using computers and the Internet?:
Many school districts are facing shrinking student enrollments due the spread of the "Mortgage Crisis." As people lose lose their homes in high-cost, high-tax areas like California they move to lower-cost regions of the United States. Click:
With the declines in student populations school district administrators are forced to fire teachers and consolidate classrooms so that the remaining teachers have more students to instruct in each of their classes.
Schools now have "desktop" computers in rooms designated as "computer labs" where the students have strictly limited access to the Internet for researching approved topics. (These computers have protective "filter programs" installed.
There are hundreds of "Educational Software" programs available for grades 1 through 12 that have already been approved for use in "Home Schooling" and other state acreditted programs.
Their are also hundreds of Educational DVD's available on English Grammer, History, Math and Science at low prices without subscription fees.
The one thing missing is a computer for every student. There are now "Notebook" laptops available with "Microsoft Windows" software installed for under $500. The first problem in implementation of a Computer Aided Education Program is supplying the laptops. Pehaps companies in the various school district's regions would be willing to sponsor the purchase of the laptops for the advertising value of having their company featured in local news stories during the school year.
With less attention from teachers Motivating Students becomes more important
The second problem is motivating the students to complete the courses. We are working on a rewards system that will super-motivate students to complete Computer Aided Education courses.

An Electric Commuter Car is going to be available in the United States soon. It will be imported by a Norwegian Company that was once owned by the Ford Motor Company! Apparently, Ford executives didn't think that there was enough potential for profit in making these mini-cars. ( A Lincoln Navigator once meant $5,000 in profits for the company.)
The Chevrolet Volt a "plug into any outlet for a charge" Electric Car is supposed to be in dealer showrooms for the 2010 model year, but parent company General Motors (trying to merge with Chrysler) and Ford Motor Co. are asking the Federal Government for another $50 billion to avoid bankruptcy in 2010.
Even at a sales price of $30,000 the Volt will lose money for GM as the development costs for the lithium ion batteries are said to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
