Paul Krugman's Narrow View On Barack
By

Paul Krugman of the New York Times thinks “As a result, drug and insurance companies — backed by the conservative movement as a whole — will be implacably opposed to any significant reforms. And what would Mr. Obama do then? “I’ll get on television and say Harry and Louise are lying,” he says. I’m sure the lobbyists are terrified.’
“As health care goes, so goes the rest of the progressive agenda. Anyone who thinks that the next president can achieve real change without bitter confrontation is living in a fantasy world.”
Mr Krugman is in a fantasy world if he thinks that a probable struggle should be prefaced by an out right attack. The way to make great changes is to slowly and systematically ratchet up the pressure on corporations and to get the support of as much as the country as possible. Another thing lost on Mr Krugman is that health insurance does little to address the main threat of illness and the problems that ensue such as obesity. Many experts think chemicals in our foods contribute to these ills and Hillary Clinton hesitates to criticize the lobbyists who perpetuate this problem.
“ A city or home divided against itself cannot stand.” Two very smart people made that statement - Jesus Christ and Abraham Lincoln. What would be the odds of Barack Obama’s success in major policy changes if he had 90 percent Democratic support and 60 or 70 percent Republican support?
.
This election is about more than just corporatism like John Edwards implies. This election is about problems with transparency in government, problems with a divided country and corporatism et cetera.

A President Has Access To Experienced Experts
By

Hillary Clinton keeps spouting experience, but all the experience in the world cannot give you good judgment. A president has access to all the experts ,a president needs to judge which expert opinions are best. I’d bet Barack knows more about the Constitution than Hillary as he has lectured on it for ten years. Too bad we couldn't test the candidates on The Constitution. Barack is only suffering nationally because people don’t know who he is. I’m betting Barack’s numbers would go way up after presidential debates and Edwards would go down. The people who get to see Edwards most and know the most (Democrats) have him rated down for many reasons. Edwards comes across arrogant and vain much of the time. Edward’s also doesn’t come across as the smartest person on stage.Barack comes across smart and sincere.
The Clintons had eight years to change the vitriol in politics, but the country was more divided than ever after Bill Clinton left office and Democrats did get beat two terms in a row right on the heels of his presidency. Even with the machinations of the 2000 election, it shouldn’t have been that close. Harold Ford’s close run for senate in 2006 in Tennessee showed me that an African American can win in the South. Barack Obama is much more gifted than Harold Ford Jr. A CNN pole 12/11 showed on Hardball showed Barack the most likeable Democratic candidate (23 percent) for Republicans ahead of Edwards at 19 percent. This is before they got a chance to really know him

Regarding Barack Obama Speaking Well

We hear repeatedly how Barack speaks well. This is mis- characterizing and trivializing what happens when people listen to candidates speak. Most people in my view have a sincerity meter and a sense meter. People listen to a candidate to detect sincerity in his/her voice and if they truly believe what they are saying. People also have a sense meter. Are what the candidates stating making sense or are they making promises they cannot follow through on. Barack scores high on both of these listening skills people use when paying attention to a speech.
Asking a president to be an expert on all of the most complex issues facing our nation like: healthcare, foreign policy, immigration and economics would be too much for anyone. So judgment and honesty should be two of the highest characteristics we should look for in a leader. This world has too many people who are experienced, but are not honest and have poor judgment.. If the Clintons did such an incredible job, the country would not have voted Republican in 2000 and 2004. These victories came right on the heels of Bill Clinton’s presidency. The Clintons had their chance, now it’s time to give Barack Obama his.

Getting Around The 22nd Amendment
By

The 22nd amendment isn’t there to prevent power to an individual as much as that individual working in concert with established government connections. Having political connections in Florida and the Supreme Court certainly didn’t hurt our current President in his 2000 victory over Al Gore. In practicality, George Bush’s second term was a third term for his immediate family and a violation of the purpose of the 22nd amendment. Hillary Clinton’s election would violate the same principle. I was raised by a single mom and as a consequence have much respect for women. In my mind, women are equal to men in all areas that really matter. I’m anxious for a women president, but not like this. Someone shouldn’t benefit from having a popular name. You need look no further than the current president as evidence for that. Someone also shouldn’t be elected or not elected because of their gender, race, name et cetera. Scripture states “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” John 7:24 To keep electing people from the same political family is one of the unhealthiest things we can do as a country. When will this stop? Do we skip a term and then elect Jeb Bush. Do we elect the children of the Clinton’s and Bush’s down the road? The presidency of the United States isn’t American Idol, but it smells like American Idol worship to me and it stinks.
