Claiming my America
Treason comes in many forms

Representative Joe Wilson should be called out for what he is: a traitor. He should not be able to get away with the type of behavior he displayed during the President's speech on Healthcare, televised to millions of Americans. Free speech, sure. But consequences, yes indeed. We must ensure not only that our first black President remains safe and secure as he fulfills his campaign promises, we must ensure that he be treated with the dignity of every other white President that came before him. The delivery of a most important information of a plan and strategy to help those without healthcare in America is not the appropriate stage to allow for dramatization of the antics of extremist Republicans; aimed once again at stirring up the most basic of human emotions - fear. Not only did Joe Wilson disrupt the President in the most blatant premeditated fashion, he did so as a way to stir the base emotions of those people who are in the process of making up their minds, those who are vulnerable to being swayed by such a slanderous remark. Joe Wilson should not only be censored, he should be tried for slander and/or treason. We have let extremism and terrorism fester on our own soil and its ugliness has permeated the halls of Congress. First Amendment rights do not allow for shots fired at the President, whether they be verbal or metal.

Talking About Restoring the Constitution
By

Barack is coming to Legends Field in Tampa tomorrow. This is so exciting. I was at Knology in Dunedin with 11,000 other Floridians. We have been hearing about important subjects such as the economy, Iraq, and healthcare. Can we also talk about restoring Constitutional rights such as protection of property (imminent domain), our privacy (phone tapping), against false imprisonment and torture? We need to know that the America our forefathers created with checks and balances between legislature and judiciary branches can be restored. Pinellas County, Florida (Oldsmar Team)

Wake up and smell the coffee

I kept thinking...when is everybody going to wake up and smell the coffee? We lost our right of imminent domain (the government has the right to seize your home), we lost our right to privacy when our conversations and emails could be listened in on or snatched up. The unions were getting busted by corporations and here in Florida, legislation was in place so those even working in the public sector (used to be a more secure environment) were hired like temp employees on a year to year contract basis, no union of course, and for any or no reason, could be let go even without a bad evaluation or no evaluation at all! No accountability for policy was necessary. So jobs were being offloaded to third world countries, U.S. citizens could be arrested and thrown in jail without a reason and could be kept off U.S. soil indefinitely without a trial. If the threat was deemed sufficient, any act could be justified, even the wholesale slaughter of 80,000 innocent men, women and children living in the middle east in a country called Iraq, in addition to over 4,000 American men and women who struggled to "protect" them from terrorists. I was afraid to criticize because I thought I would be taken in to custody and never heard from again. I saw our leaders borrowing billions from countries like China and Japan, to finance an unjustified war we could not win. The financial sector and housing market is broken, individuals are debt, institutions are in debt, and our nation is in debt. We could all be answering to another master soon. Our dollar has fallen in value and the only thing the U.S. has going for it at this point is a good professional army that is losing its battle. But no one at the top is held accountable or impeached. We are living in an insane society. It is time for this to STOP!!!
