Students at a local school were assigned to read 2 books, "Titanic"
and "My Life" by Bill Clinton.
One student turned in the following book report, with the
proposition that they
were nearly identical stories! His cool professor gave him an A+
for this report:
Titanic:..... Cost - $29.99
Clinton :..... Cost - $29.99
Titanic:..... Over 3 hours to read
Clinton :.... Over 3 hours to read
Titanic:..... The story of Jack and Rose, their forbidden love,
and subsequent catastrophe.
Clinton :..... The story of Bill and Monica, their forbidden love,
and subsequent catastrophe.
Titanic:..... Jack is a starving artist.
Clinton :..... Bill is a bullshit artist.
Titanic:.... In one scene, Jack enjoys a good cigar.
Clinton :..... Ditto for Bill.
Titanic:..... During the ordeal, Rose's dress gets ruined.
Clinton :..... Ditto for Monica.
Titanic:..... Jack teaches Rose to spit.
Clinton :..... Let's not go there.
Titanic:..... Rose gets to keep her jewelry.
Clinton :. Monica is forced to return her gifts.
Titanic:..... Rose remembers Jack for the rest of her life.
Clinton :..... Clinton doesn't remember Jack.
Titanic:..... Rose goes down on a vessel full of seamen.
Clinton :..... Monica...ooh, let's not go there, either.
Titanic:..... Jack surrenders to an icy death.
Clinton.....Bill goes home to Hilary - basically the same thing.
The true measure of a person is how they treat someone that can do them absolutely no good.

All of these endorsements are so great!! Two very powerful, red state women standing up to support Barack Obama. Make Hillary think twice because she does NOT have a lock on women. She needs to take a back seat and realize it is not HER time....this is time for change and uplifting tones, not for depressing rhetoric from and desparate campaign.

These are just events from Dec 29th to today Jan 2nd, however not all events are posted because crowd sizes havent been announced by the campaign or the events have not yet taken place.
City Crowd County Del. to State Convention
Nevada 500 Story
Ames 1000 Story 77 (3.8% of delegation)
Davenport 950 Scott

Sioux City 900 Woodbury 68 (2.7%)
The amazing thing is that roughly 15,600 people have turned out to hear Barack speak in the days since Dec 29th and that doesnt even include the last events he has tonight in Waterloo, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. At this pace, nearly 20,000 people will have heard Barack speak in a matter of 5 days. In 2004 about 124,000 people turned out to caucus and Barack has spoken to about 16.1% of the number of people who turned out in 2004. We all know that more people will turnout to vote this year, but even high projections of 200,000 people to turnout would still have given Barack 10% of that audience in a matter of 5 days and we dont even have numbers for how many people turned out to Michelle's events. Things are looking more hopeful day in and day out. THANK YOU IOWA!!!

These numbers are from the events Barack has held between Dec 29th-31st
Read my previous blog post for additional information.
City Crowd County 04 T/O % of 04 T/O
Nevada 500 Story 5,674 8.9%
Davenport 950 Scott 5,566 17.1%
Webster City 330 Hamilton 634 52.1%
Carroll 600 Carroll 635 94.5%
Mason City 650 Cerro Gordo 1,586 41%
Clinton 365 Clinton 1,326 27.5%
Perry 260 Dallas 2,111 12.3%
Des Moines 1,000 Polk 21,821 4.6%
Newton 500 Jasper 1,868 26.8%
Knoxville 400 Marion 1,120 35.7%
Ottumwa 500 Wapello 1,615 31%
Keokuk 500 Lee 1,193 41.9%
Burlington 600 Des Moines 1,879 31.9%
Coralville 900 Johnson 11,169 8.1%
Iowa Falls 400 Hardin 715 55.9%
And the BIG number...
Barack has spoken to nearly 8,500 people in the past 3 Days (Excluding events in Jefferson, Boone, and Ames). That accounts for 6.9% of all Democrats that turned out in the 2004 Caucuses. Turnout is projected to be even higher than in 2004 and we all know, the higher the turnout, the better that is for us.

IA Crowds as % of Population (Last 2 Days)

Statistically they say about 6% of all registered Democratic voters turnout to caucus in Iowa. These crowd sizes are encouraging if you look at the different data. Look outside the box...
City Crowd % of city pop
Nevada 500 7.5%
Davenport 950 1%
Webster City 330 4%
Carroll 600 5.9%
Mason City 650 2.3%
Clinton 365 1.3%
Perry 260 3.4%
S Des Moines 1000 2%
Newton 500 3.2%
Knoxville 400 5.2%
Ottumwa 500 2%
Keokuk 500 4.4%
Burlington 600 2.2%
Coralville 900 6%
Not to say that all the people who attended were necessarily from those cities, but it still speaks volumes that we are getting a lot of support from people all over. In just the past two days Barack has spoken to more than 8000 people. That is about 6.5% of all of the Democrats that turned out to caucus in 2004. And that is only in 2 DAYS! He has spent about 80 days in Iowa since the campaign began and that doesnt even include Michelles numbers. Stay hopeful everyone. We are going to change the world!

I hope these numbers make us all hope some more!! These are all fundraising numbers from all over the country (with specifics on the earely states).
Between Obama, Clinton and Edwards:
All 50 States
Obama: 26 States (with a fundraising lead)
Clinton: 19 States
Edwards: 5 States
Jan. 3 - Feb. 5 States
Obama: 13 States (with a fundraising lead)
Clinton: 9 States
Edwards: 2 States
Clinton leads in Iowa by less than 10k, Obama leads in NH by 150k, Edwards leads in SC by 67k (interesting Hillary is in 3rd in fundraising in SC...) and Clinton leads in NV by 250k. Among the top three candidates, Obama has more than 50% of the states behind him in fundraising, and if people are willing to donate their money, you know they are not going to miss voting.
Merry Christmas everybody!!! Here is a state by state breakdown of who is leading in each state. (Feb 5 and earlier states are in bold).Obama -Washington,
