Ed Long, said he saw no difference between John McCain's economic proposals and those of President Bush." Whereas Barack Obama really has a step-by step plan — you can go to his Web site or hear what he's saying of what he'd like to do," Long said the success of Obama's primary campaign demonstrated he had the organizational and leadership skills to be president. "That said to me this person has an idea of how to get things done."
Cynthia Spring, 66, of Newark, said she was voting for Obama because the country was more likely to prosper with a Democratic administration. "Look at the shape the country was in economy-wise at the end of President Clinton's term and how it is now," she said. Obama's background, as a multiracial child raised by a single mother and grandparents, as the reason she considered him the best choice for tough times. "I think it's his upbringing," she said. "He, at least, can relate to people."
John Eurich, a 23-year-old construction laborer from Ashtabula, said Palin made up his mind — to vote for Obama."I was undecided for a long time, but the more I learned about Sarah Palin the more I thought if something would happen to McCain she would be the next one in line."She doesn't seem to have much experience and she kind of babbles on about nonsense in her interviews."

Vote Early Ohio!
I did and my vote was for Barack Obama and Joe Biden!
Wow, now this is funny, McCain has the gall to question Barack Obama’s judgement, looks like a double standard. Here we have John McCain’s running mate Violating Ethic Laws in the state of Alaska. We also have her and her husband’s ties with the secessionist Alaska Independence Party.

We need Obama / Biden more than ever!
Please vote early as I did and cast your vote for Barack Obama for President
Seems when the Republican leadership wants to accomplish something they use fear and lies. I see a pattern, “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction”, we must act or face a possible nuclear attack on our country. The financial industry is in trouble, we must act now or people will lose their retirement savings and the banking system will collapse. You must vote for John McCain or you will be electing his opponent, a guy who is “palling around with terrorists”.
Now we know why they picked Palin, she will say anything the McCain camp tells her to say. Why, because she has no idea what she is talking about! We don’t need more “gutter politics” we need REAL CHANGE in this country.
We don’t need a leader who said he “wishes” he knew more about the economy. We need change, not wishes at this time in our economy. Sen. McCain said; “the fundamentals of the economy are strong”. The next day; “the economy is in serious trouble”. This same person said during the first debate, “Everyone seen this coming, it was a train wreck waiting to happen”. Maybe if he acted this could have been avoided. All this coming from a guy, with his wife, own what…8 homes? Must be nice, most hard working people I know are struggling to make payments on just 1 home.
The fact of the matter is: John McCain OUT OF TOUCH with Main Street!
We need Obama / Biden!
Please Vote on Nov. 4th!

Will this bill actually STOP the foreclosure problem? From what I heard and read, nothing in this bill addresses the issue of “crazy loan practices” used by the banking sector. We are in recession, taking this country deeper into debt to bail out the banks is WRONG. The next administration and congress will not be able to do anything in the coming years because we are spending $10 billion a month in Iraq and are trillions of dollars in debt.
To give $700 billion to the very companies who got us into this mess would be ridiculous! It is time Main Street America comes first. Let the “Free” markets work out their “asset” problem! Increase the FDIC limits and provide “insurance” to the banks holding the “assets”. Maybe a change in the accounting rules will help some of the banks hold this “Paper” until maturity.
Obama/Biden 2008
We need real change!
Thank You,
I’m just a regular self employed guy who runs a small business. I sent out applications to refinance my home 2 weeks ago. Guess what, I have 4 banks, TODAY (October 1st, 2008), ready and willing to refinance or provide a home equity line of credit. I don’t know where all the politician’s are getting their facts…seems like there is NO credit freeze from where I stand. America should run on savings...NOT CREDIT!
I'm voting Obama/Biden!
I’m 100% behind the members who voted NO on the $700 billion “Bail Out” program. No matter how painful this might be, the NO vote was the correct response. Every time our current president makes a speech saying “Congress must act”, it reminds me of how the administration sold the Iraq war. It is best if our current President and the two seeking the office let congress do the job and keep the politics out!
I was tired of hearing “this is not a good bill” but we have to do something. Isn’t it better to take our time and DO IT RIGHT? This is America and the WORLD is watching…we can DO BETTER! If these assets are worth something why are the banks writing down the value? Social Security & Medicare are projected to have short falls in the not so distant future. I do not think the American public believes our government can invest in “troubled” assets and make a profit. John McCain said in the presidential debate…"a lot of us saw this train wreck coming.” If he and others see it coming, why the heck did we wait to the last minute to act? http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jyHTkn9YwsUmwQQTNEUy8lDuwNZA
My grandfather started his own small business with HARD work! He did not borrow or take on loads of debt. He made his payroll and paid cash for everything. Why do so many American’s need a Home Loan, Car Loan, Home Improvement Loan, School Loan(s), and credit card debt? It is because over 80% of American’s and small businesses don’t have the huge tax breaks like big corporations. We have been told for years, we need to save for a rainy day. It is pouring outside and the country is currently $9 trillion dollars in debt!
I totally support raising the federal deposit insurance limit from $100,000 to $250,000. Maybe changing the “mark to market" accounting rules would help some of these banks keep their “assets”. This in turn might help keep the total cost to the American tax payers to a minimum! Maybe a middle class tax break would help pass the bill.
Let us hope we get a more sensible bill passed before Election Day 2008.
I’m 42 years old and not an economics graduate. However, I have purchased 3 homes in my lifetime. Every time I have financed 90-95% of each house, owning only 1 at a time. All three banks made me pay between $35~$53 dollars a month PMI insurance. It was my understanding the insurance covered the bank if I were to default.
With that said, how in the HECK can this country’s financial system be going down the drain due to the housing market??? If people were financing 85~115% of a home’s value they should have been paying PMI insurance. Where is all that insurance money?
This whole thing makes me sick. Restricting the pay and golden parachutes means nothing to the irresponsible and down right criminal actions of these financial institution executives, they are already multi millionaires.
I for one am tired of living by the rules so others in this country can continue to break the rules and profit!
Social Security & Medicare will soon be bankrupt and we are suppose to trust the government to “Invest” in these assets (in hopes) of making the American Tax payer a profit…GIVE ME A BREAK!
I still say NO to this bail out plan!
We NEED Obama / Biden 2008
Jan. 2001 this country was 5.7 Trillion dollars into debt, as of Sept. 23rd, 2008 the debt is now 9.79 Trillion. http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np
Our current president rushed us into the war in Iraq saying it will only cost $55 billion, I’ve read the war has cost us about $800 billion to date.
Now the president wants us to move immediately on a $700 billion package to rescue the credit markets…give me a break.
Please contact your senators and tell them NO to the $700 billion dollar bail out package.
http://banking.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Information.Membership
Please contact or write these Senators and tell them the $700 billion should be spent on schools and American families...not Wall Street!
I seen Paulson and Bernanke today asking for a $700 billion “bail out” plan…is the government crazy? We have known about this problem for well over 1 year and now the White House wants to rush this bill through congress 1 week before the election break….give me a break. Also, how can they sit there and tell the American people that the government should pay a significant premium over current 'fire sale' price for troubled assets? If these assets are worth something, “held to maturity”, then why are we in this crisis? I bought some stocks for $1000, now worth $500. Can the government buy them for me at my purchase price? I’m sure they will get their money back in 5 or 10 years.
They are saying this is an INVESTMENT like AIG, Freddy, and Fanny for the American people. I hear Social Security is due to fail along with Medicare. I’m afraid the confidence of the American people is wearing very thin on how the government is spending our money. How can they say, approve this plan or else there will be serious consequences like a recession? We are already in a recession; only thing is…no one wants to say that in an election year.
We have spent billions already trying to fix this problem; another $700 billion is just insane! We are spending billions for a war in Iraq that was supposed to only cost $55 Billion when proposed. How is America supposed to be strong and have a good education system if we are billions of dollars in debt? If the government keeps buying “assets” and companies…do we still live in a Free Market System?
They are kidding…right? Not only do they want to spend $700 billion, they want to pay above market prices for JUNK that no one wants to buy on the open market?
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601068&sid=aqCh43qzoq5M&refer=home
Where do we get these people who are running the financial system? If it were me I would say, scrap the whole thing. If the assets will have value at the "hold-to-maturity" date then let those financial institutions hold to maturity! If these assets have value...why are we in this mess?
We are in Desperate Need of REAL CHANGE!
The time is NOW!
DO NOT give into the pressure. As everyone knows this is an election year. Even thought I voted for the current president both times I feel the TIME IS NOW for the Democratic Party! We the American people are looking to you for the guidance to get us out of this debacle.
Please do not rush into a solution to this banking mess, as most American’s, I feel it is outrageous the government is going to “bail out” wall street yet again. Enough is enough, the American people should not have to pay for this mess…thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people are losing there houses because of the shady practices established by Wall Street “professionals”. They all were happy go lucky when they were making millions of dollars…now they are crying because those days are over.
This is defiantly a very difficult situation but we, as American’s, need to suffer some pain or we will NEVER learn better. To bail out the “Free” markets when times get tough only encourages people to KEEP borrowing. I for one live in a simple house that I can afford, I live within my means with my wife and 2 children…and I’m being punished with LOW savings rates…if we are going to buy all the default mortgages, how about paying off mine? I only owe $88,000 of a house valued at $158,000….bailing out the people who got us into this mess sends the WRONG signal.
Please think of ALL Americans, not just about the brokerage houses and the people in foreclosure. If we lose a few hundred thousand jobs in the financial sector then so be it…the economy will recover! How in the heck can this courtry move forward with a national debt in the trillions of dollars??? There are hundreds of things we should be doing in this country to make our education system better. However we are spending billions on the mistakes of the fat cats on wall street and billions in Iraq. I do not think those two items are helping the American people with the major problems we have right here in our country…the buck stops on wall street…
My vote: Barack/Biden in 2008
Do NOT give in and pass this senseless $700,000,000,000.00 bail out package. Please don’t give in to this administration again as we did with the Iraq war. They are just trying to sweep these problems under the table before they leave office. Don’t let the American people foot the bill for this obscene injustice created by the financial industry. This country will heal better and quicker if we allow the selfish and greedy people on Wall Street to go down with their ships.
Yes, the American people are all going to suffer but why should our children and grand children have to pay for the mistakes of the selfish baby boom generation? These brilliant people are/were making multi million dollar salaries and bonuses to run their companies into bankruptcy. Yes, it would be great to keep people in their homes seeing as of April, 2008 there were over 18,000,000 million vacant homes in the United States. However, the “FREE” markets need to work this out on their own.
If the government steps in to bail out these multi millionaires what kind of message does that send to the hard working people of this country who are making less than $100,000??? It is far time we stepped up for them, DO NOT approve this bail out…let the markets drop or plunge. This is a problem that needs SERIOUS investigation of wrong doing, to rush in and bail them out will cover up the REAL crimes against the American public.
We NEED Obama/Biden in 2008!
I’m sorry but this country is pathetic! Big financial corporations are failing and big financial institutions are going bankrupt. Now we, the American tax payers, have to pick up the bill. One problem, no one seems to be angry. These companies were run by SMART people who are/were making multi million dollar salaries. If these people are so darn smart, why are all the companies going bankrupt?
Then I read http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/09/19/mccain-lights-up-obama/ where McCain says electing Barack Obama would bankrupt this country…I think we are already there! I just read where the “wizards” in the Bush administration are requesting 700 billion to be the buyer of last resort for mortgage-linked assets that few other financial institutions in the world want to buy…great example of a “FREE” market system! Great estimate, are these the same bozo’s who gave us an estimate of 55 Billion for the Iraq war…I think that price is nearing 800 billion.

Before “George W.” took office the government had a budget surplus now people are saying 1 trillion in debt.
WE NEED REAL CHANGE!
OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!
http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/17/america/mccain.php
Need to hit McCain hard right now on the economy. Please make a commercial using all the failed banks, the huge government bailouts which will cost the American tax payers millions if not billions of dollars.
Then show a clip during the primaries where McCain said…he does not know much about the economy. I think it was Romney that was hitting him hard during the primaries about that statement.
I totally agree with your first ad, if he does not know it is broken…but using his own works about not knowing much about the economy, then saying on the 15th we have a “strong” economy, to today where he says the economy is in crises sure indicates to me that he is EXTREAMLY out of touch!
I'm telling you, she is not a leader, she is a divider! The only reason she is still in this is to cause as much damage as possible! Why, because she thinks she has a chance in 4 years! I'm certain that if the demecrats lose the white house this November they will only have the "Billary Machine" to blame!!!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24905193/
"Clinton's camp insisted Obama shouldn't get any pledged delegates in Michigan since he chose not to put his name on the ballot, and she should get 73 pledged delegates with 55 uncommitted. Obama's team insisted the only fair solution was to split the pledged delegates in half between the two campaigns, with 64 each."
If the democrats lose in November, only 2 words will explain why..."Billary Machine". Those two and their pathetic campaign tactics are why people are SICK of the political process.
It is truly sad when two "devoted democrats" run their campaign into debt just to smear the image of a fellow democrat. What is their reasoning? Maybe they hope to have another shot at the white house in 2012?
These past 12 months should prove to the world that they will say and do anything to regain the white house. They had their shot; it is PAST time to step aside if they truly care about their party and not just their ego's! They have got to be the most self centered people I know in this world!
Sorry but I have reached my political limit! I have and always will be a supporter of Barack Obama. I've donated $500 more in this primary than I've ever spent during an election year, primary and/or general. Not to mention the weeks of volunteer work for the Obama campaign during the "Get out the Vote" and his visit to the Nutter Center.
Unfortunately, I can not take any more of this drawn out political in-fighting with the "Billary Machine". They are going into debt to continue smearing the best candidate the democrats' have had in a LONG time...it is sad to read and hear about EVERY DAY. Is Rev. Wright working for them now too?
This is my last post, I wish you all well and hope our candidate gets the nod at the convention and comes out on top in November!
Watching Change Slip Away....
Strong supporter of Barack Obama!
I'm in Japan wondering where the news report people get their numbers? I read a report that 2-1, Democrats think Obama is the best candidate. If that's the case, why is Barack losing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania?
I volunteered in Ohio going door to door. In my opinion, TOO MUCH effort was wasted on Republican's and Independents! I thought the idea of the primary was to focus on your own party? None-the-less, if Obama is winning the popular vote, pledged delegates, and contests by courting everyone except Democrats, it clearly indicates to me he IS THE BEST candidate come the general election for President!
I've contributed to Obama's campaign but can't afford to keep giving during the primary. If I do, I will not have any money to contribute to his general election fight! It seems senseless wasting all this money inter-party battling the smear tactics of the "Billary" divide machine.
I think the "Change Movement" is losing significant support and momentum the longer this drags out! I'm certain we are not going to win the White House with "Billary", our chances are dropping the longer this goes...put an end to it NOW!
Obama 08
It's way past time to end this; it is clearly obvious that the "Clinton Machine" is nothing but a negative and divisive group. I hope these rumors are true about President Carter and Al Gore. It is time to say good-bye to the hack and slash politics of the Clinton's.
Give me a break, one look at each candidate's tax records and we all know which Democratic camp is "elitist". I thought Mrs. Clinton wanted to build a stronger democratic party. If so, why is she, her husband, and his political machine trying to be-little our next president of the United States Barack Obama?
I guess they don't know how to lose with dignity. They only know how to bring out the negatives and divide people. Let's face it; Barack has won more states, delegates, and the popular vote. It won't be long till he also leads in "super" delegates. Why are we dragging this thing out? Lets finish this in Pennsylvania!!!!
