As I watched the Republican Convention today, Tuesday, September 2, 2008, I was reminded of how Hitler came into power and the similarities presented by the Republican Party. Allow me to enumerate:
We MUST stand firm to tell truth to power. The whole world see what is happening in the leadership of our government and are begging for us to get it right and elect Barack Obama, President of the United States of America. Let's strengthen our resolve to make the right change for ourselves. As Barack said, ENOUGH! Let's echo that from every mountain, every molehill, and every valley; from sea to shing sea that Barack Obama is the ONLY Qualified choice for President!!

Dear Fellow Americans:
At this date, at this time, at this moment in history I have a mixture of feeling revolving around the question, "Why would anyone be suppoting Senator Hillary Clinton"?
She says that her base is "Hard-working, uneducated, blue-collared, white workers". I am upset, offended, and extremely mad about this statement! To call us DUMB boils my crawl! You know folks THAT'S What UNEDUCATED means! Hillary has a college degree, Bill has a college degree, even Chelese ( I don't know if I spelled her name right; maybe I am dumb) has a college degree. They are looking down their noses at us and laughing at us!
They are saying we will believe anything they say! They have the strings to our emotions and can pull that chain at will and we will fall for it! Those of us who are blessed to have children in college, who have made sacrifices to make that happen, you are talking about us! Children who are in college, they are talking about your parents! What are they saying? I can get "DUMB" folks to vote for me. And why not? They tricked us in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virgina!
What are they saying? "If you vote for me I will fight for you"! BULL)*(@*! We know that they will say anything and do anything to get into office. They are playing us like fiddles!!! Early in her campaign it was all about (I, ME, and MY)! Now, that she is losing, it become what "I" will do for "YOU"! She is playing the Race card as well as the Gender card. Listen to her carefully! Let's Not Be Suckered IN this time! Vote for Senator Barack Obama, who is sincere, whose, message has never changed, who has a proven record of working with poor people like us ( working for people who has lost their jobs to outsourcing, walking picket lines with people who wanted to form unions for better working conditions and a better life, representing us in the courts, state Senate and U.S. Senate). This has been his life's work! Don't judge the man by the color of his skin (remember he IS half white so while the Afro-American can take pride in is being black, we can take pride in the other half!) but judge him by the content of his character!
The newspapers and T.V. people say that there is not much difference between them. Since February 5th when she was supposed to have been crowned queen, she has been changing her stump speech to sound like what Obama has been saying all along and they, the media has been playing it up! They are All laughing at us thinking we will do what they say. Let's fool 'em this time! Let's show them they we can think for ourselves and college kids, you are going to defend your parents! Let's come out for Barack Obama in groves because voting for him is truly voting for ourselves!

I write not to get your vote but for you to understand what Senator Barack Obama said. He said he would send troops into Pakistan to get the Al-Qaeda, not to attack the Pakistan people. If what you say, Asfeen, is true, you should welcome the help Senator Obama suggests if Al-qaeda is still within your borders when he becomes president. You state that Pakistan and its government suffers more than any other country from the likes of Al-Qaeda and terrorists. Help is on the way with Senator Obama in 2009.
Ali, you list the Pakistan armed forces attributes. If they are the 4th largest army in the world with all the military resources you list at its disposal, why haven't they captured Bin Laden and ended the Al-Qaeda strangle hold on your country? Well, they have approximately a year and a half to get the job done. If not, help is on the way.
To both of you: Don't listen to the headlines of newspapers and news casters. They are looking for sensationalism! Since you came on this website, read and/or listen to what Senator Obama has to say. The video is 15:38 minutes long. He spells out his war on TERRORISM in a five point plan. He doesn't say that he would invade Pakistan but rather he would go into Pakistan to root-out the Al-Qaeda and other terriosts groups. This provides aid to Pakistan and you both should welcome it. If not, gives me cause to wonder.......why? or Why not?

I watched the forum with some disappointments. Disappointed that it was not publicized more; disappointed that all 8 candidates weren't allowed to speak. If (the station advertised last night that it was going to be an eight hour event from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.; and lastly, I was disappointed that it was held on MSNBC where the Clintons own shares, therefore a predictable outcome from their point of veiw.
Let's get to the form:
Minutes allowed to the three candidates:
Clinton: 20 minutes, closing state viewed
Edwards: 15, minutes, closing statement not viewed
Obama: 12 minutes, closing statement not viewed
Chris Matthews played with Clinton, and even though he mentioned that she did not answer his question he (and later they, the analysts, thought it was very political but showed good leadership) If Senator Obama had not answered a question, It would receive negative press, on the radio, t.v., and in the papers, for the next five weeks. If their was a winner to be named, it was clearly Obama! They acknowledged that he received the most applause (that's because he's a likleable guy but he can't win) and yet, in their eyes it was Hillary Clinton who continues to stand heads and shoulders above all others. This was to be a coronation for Senator Clinton. They say she can't be beat even though they stated that she pulls out Ex-President Bill whenever she is in trouble. What is she doing on July Fourth in Iowa? Pulling out the "Bill Card"!
Although nobody stumbled, Senator Obama did more in less time. He spoke of his plans on all the issues and yet, they refused to acknowledge that fact. While he spoke Chris Matthews was mesmerized and had to admit it! What was the analysis? Well we've always said that he (Senator Obama ) is a great orator, but that doesn't win elections!!! I think if the election was held today, the self-proclaimed, dye-in-the-wool-republican analyst would have voted for Senator Obama after he spoke!
Why it was poorly advertised is now apparent! Most Americans would not have seen it and would have to depend on video clips and comments about it! At 4:00 p.m. CST, Chris Matthews showed some clips from the form. However, when it came to analyzing the form, they ONLY spoke of Senator Clinton and how well she did. They didn' mention Senator Obama or Edwards! They showed a poll, this morning with Senator Obama leading in S.C. followed by Edwards, then Clinton. This afternoon, when they were praising Clinto, they show a change with Clinot leading followed by Edwards then Obama.
This is why we have to ignore the polls and the mass media (Mass Media IS Big Business!) . The Clintons have stock in them and their job is to sway public opinon and deliver the vote for Senator Clinton! They don't believe in the "grassroots' Campaign that Senator Obama is running because they have all the resources and many"Top, Influential people" in their corner. But WE the PEOPLE of these United States of America are not going to fall for these old political tricks and maneuvers! This is a cause to TAKE BACK our government and restore it to its rightful purpose, Of the People, By the People, and For the People! Barack Obama will be OUR voice in the White House!! Let' each of us make the resolve of that old Negro Spiritual, "Ain't Going To Let KNOWBODY Turn Me Around... going to keep on marching to the Promised Land (White House)!

Senator Obama's intial response was the right one! You first see to the need of your people. Wouldn't you do that if members of your family were harmed? You find out who was responsible and lastly go after them with all the fury you can muster so they, nor anyone else would ever think about coming your way again. It doesn't take long to put this in place! hours not even days! When you go after the culprits, make sure you are right. Don't attack for attack's sake or we will have another Bush situation where we are bullying the rest of the world with our "Weapons of Mass Destruction"! People all over the world have lost loved ones unjustly and will understand and even appreciate our need to retaliate or vindicate such a loss of our loved ones. Reason must be included in all we do for then and only then can we move forward with righteous indignation whose cause is just! The results would be far better than what we would think!

At this time, we have a young man, in Senator Barack Obama, who dares to dream, who dares to have lofty ideas for people, not just in America but around the world. We have a young man, in Senator Barack Obama, who has the audacity to hope that all factions of these United Staes would come together to improve health care, to improve our public education systems, to overhaul social security, to restore our GOOD name around the world with a foriegn policy of collaboration (win-win situations for all) not competition (win for the few and lose for the majority of the world), to end starvation and global warming here and abroad.
In Senator Barak Obama, we have a young man that can bring us together to take back the ideas on which our country was founded (We hold these truthes to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal and they are endowed by their creator...), you know the rest.
Make no mistake! This is more than an election, it is a movement towards improving the human diaspora, starting within the boundaries of our great country and taking it abroad. The young people see it! We have sent our children away to institutions of higher learning so they will be more knowledgable, gain more insight, become more visionary, and obtain more understanding, than we. Therefore wouldn't it be logical to engage in conversation with them concerning this election (movement)?
We have an opportunity to make a positive mark in our history. We have spent 40 years in the political wilderness (1968-2008). We have, embodied in Senator Barak Obama, the Joshua of our time to lead us to the promise land of political reform. The time is here! the time is Now! It IS time for a change! It, is up to us individually and collectively to take those actions necessary to bring about the change.
Another candidate wants to adopt a cute campaign song to work on the emotions of the people. We should adopt the battle cry: "If It's Going TO BE, It's Up To Me!"
Time out for catch phrases! Time out for cute songs! Time out for being misinformed through major resources! It is a time for reason! a time for weighing what is, against what should be! It is a time for Action.
I apologize to the readers for this blog being so long. It is my first and I have so much pinned up in me that I had to let some of it out. I promise that I won't be so long winded again.
