Everyone wear blue to Obama's rallies! (A sea of blue!)
By

We need to put this election away, and we need to show our full support for Barack Obama. And, in addition to everything else, a great way to do that would be for
everyone to wear blue to his rallies
.
Imagine how that's going to look: tens of thousands of people, all wearing blue shirts, or at least blue jeans or maybe blue caps or hats.
It will be
a sea of blue
! Imagine how that's going to look on TV screens around the world!
I can't push this idea alone, so I need your help. Please
spread this message
to all your friends, on blogs, through mailing lists, and at sites like Facebook.

Neighbor2Neighbor: help Obama **stop** the lies!
By

We all know about the viral emails containing smears about Barack Obama, right? Well, I did a little research and it turns out that most of those lies and smears are spread
*in person*
, not through email.
Not only that, but only a small number of people are the "lie spreaders". These are the busy-bodies in your community who'll tell anyone who'll listen falsehoods about Obama. They're able to do that because they've got a lot of friends, or they're in jobs that give them a lot of contact with others. They might be your mailman, the lady down at the hair salon, or some local Republican official with nothing better to do with his time.
But,
how do we stop those busy-bodies from spreading their lies?
With email, you can just reply with the truth to whoever sent you the email. But, with thousands of busy-bodies spreading rumors person-to-person, it's much more difficult. Even if you tell them to stop, they'll probably just keep spreading lies.
Then, I came up with a groundbreaking way to *stop* the lies and the smears, and I urge the Obama campaign to make it an official effort.
What the Obama campaign should do is set up
a "Neighbor2Neighbor" program
. When someone in your community starts spreading lies, you can go to the Obama website and fill out an "incident" form, typing in the person's name, their contact information, and a description of the lies and smears they're peddling. A "campaign counselor" can then contact them by phone to discuss with them all the ways they're wrong. In extreme cases, counselors can even go out to the person's home and try to talk some sense into them. Obama himself said we need to get into peoples' faces and convince them to vote for him, and this program will help us do just that. Of course, the campaign shouldn't reveal the name of the tipster, but after the (former!) "smear spreader" sees the light they'll be grateful to whoever filed the tip.
I realize, of course, that we're just a few weeks from the election, but setting up this program doesn't have to take that much time. In fact, since most of those "smear spreaders" are located in Republican neighborhoods, it's not like Obama campaign counselors would have to travel all over the city. In fact, several groups could be dispatched to those Republican areas in specially-marked Obama Truth Squad vans rather than going there individually. This would not only be better for logistics, it would be greener! The counselors would be equipped with the facts, logic, and documentation, and could quickly turn those "smear spreaders" into committed Barack Obama supporters! Then they can spread the truth, and not the lies!
Working together, we can make this dream happen!
Please contact the Obama campaign and urge them to take up this idea.
