When Will We Hit Back?

I don't know how many of you have seen the video footage of John McCain on the floor of the US Senate calling fellow Senators F***ing idiots and other foul mouth tirades directed at those who disagree with him.

His temper is well known and doucmented.

America needs to see these videos with an announcer in the background talking about McCains willingness to work across the aisle - Yeah right, if you agree wioth him.

I think these need to be run to show his religeous conservatives just how foul mouthed he is - the expletitives are vulgar, obscene and numerous.

Yes this is the guy I want running my country - An old man, in a senior moment, mad as hell hitting the button.

Come on there are lots of these type ads that need to be run - If this campaign doesn't want to run them then MoveOn or someone needs to. The fact that the polls are showing McCain gaining scares the hell out of me. We need to knock him down HARD. And his own actions are the best tool we have.

Open Letter to Barack

It wasn't that long ago that I was utterly amazed at the fact that I thought we had a candidate that I could believe in, a candidate that gave me hope that we could change American politics. For the first time in my 60+ years I donated money to a campaign (lots), I put bumber stickers on my car, I registered voters at various events, I canvassed, I held signs at large gatherings. I was on this website constantly, chatting on the blogs etc.

After the primary, my excitement to a back seat to some long overdue traveling and family visits. There was a two week period where I had zero contact with phones, computers, faxes etc. It wasn't as if I was going through withdrawals, just re connecting with other aspects of life.

Now, I am saddened that I find myself questioning this candidate. Senator Obama you haven't lost my vote - yet, but you have lost my donations and support. I cannot in clear conscience work for a candidate who so readily plays the old politics. Your vote in favor of the disregard and contempt for our constitution, allowing the FISA bill to pass, your support of religion funded social efforts etc have killed my belief, caused me to lose my hope and questin whether or not we can ever change the corrupt political system.

Keep it up and Ron Paul will have my vote

No More Division

Billery failed to divide We the People by playing the race card. Not only did they fail, it backfired on them.

Never one to quit, Billery is now trying to divide We the People based on education/intelligence. It too will fail and backfire on them. I was raised to look up to people that have succeeded in life - not in envy but in admiration and inspiration. For Billery to attempt to make those less fortunate look upon successful people with envy and jealousy reeks of hypocrisy. And I don’t believe you have to be higher educated to see through this.

We are ONE People. We share the same dreams and aspirations. We all want a safe and secure country with the opportunities for our children and grandchildren that we have enjoyed. We want an education system that teaches our children, that motivates them to succeed. We want a country that is once again respected by the other nations of the world - respected and looked up to. We want a country that welcomes legal immigrants , that shares our bounty with those less fortunate. We want a country that responds with passion to disasters around the world and here at home. We want a strong military, a military that is rewarded for their service. We want a country that respects and appreciates our Veterans. We want our Veterans to have the benefits they deserve. These are the things that unite us - and there are many more. Way more than the issues that divide us.

I can't wait, I honestly believe the America that I grew up in has a chance of returning. Of the People, For the People and By the People. Thank you Senator Obama, Thank You.

Billery will stop at nothing to steal this election. She has learned how to play politics very well. I believe that is what we are trying to get away from. For anyone to think that she would exact change in the system is ludicrous. Divide and Conquer won’t work this time. Not now or ever again. We will unite as a country. We will never again allow professional politicians to sell our country again.

The other PACs, lobby, special interest groups have also contributed hundreds of millions. Perhaps that group has the money to waste and to continue funding through the general election, but many of the small donors >2,300.00, won’t be able to continue funding at the past rate.

The general election is going to be costly We need to start putting ALL of our energies and monies to that end. Please Senator Clinton, accept that We the People have made our choice. Please.

Work for November NOW

Every single day this amazing man finds another way to dazzle me with brilliance.
I've known for a long time that this man's time is now, and I have done things that I never thought I would, in order to help facilitate the inevitable: (1) for the first time in my 60 years, I have donated money to a candidate.
(2)As much as I detest receiving phone calls from strangers, I find myself calling strangers.
(3) I haven't allowed any bumper stickers, of any kind, on my cars for the last 30 years, and now I have 4 Obama stickers.

I can't wait, I honestly believe the America that I grew up in has a chance of returning. Of the People, For the People and By the People. Thank you Senator Obama, Thank You.

It troubles me that HRC is raising money from the believers, and not only spending their money, and her money, but also forcing BHO to spend his contributions, on Primary Contests, instead of starting NOW to work together to get the Presumptive Democratic Nominee, Senator Obama elected POTUS. I have called my area delegates and asked them please to end this waste of time, money & energy. I have emailed other prominent delegates and implored them to also put an end to this.

Those of you that are familiar with me know that my highest priority is getting Senator Obama the nomination and the Presidency.
I have implored you guys to get off the blog and call potential voters.

As a baby boomer I have wondered and wondered how any person of my generation can forget the scandals that permeated the Clinton Presidency. And yet you would have to forget them to support Senator Clinton.

Election FRAUD

There was major controversy during the 2004 elections regarding the reliability and vulnerability of electronic voting machines. There was a public outrage. There were demands for investigation. Everyone felt that because of the political connections between the Republicans and the machine makers that there was a conspiracy to steal the election.   The uproar continued up and into the 2006 Congressional elections.

But the Democrats took over the House and barely took over the Senate. Neither with a sufficient majority to override a veto. Common thinking was - there can’t be a conspiracy because the Democrats won. The concerns died away.

Doesn’t it make sense to end the controversy by allowing a meaningless win by Democrats? The Republicans knew that if the Democrat controlled house tried to do anything the President would veto and there wasn’t sufficient votes to over ride. In the last two years we have watched this scenario play out over and over again.

The concerns are real. The machines can be compromised in less than one minute.

Members of Congress had a bill before them this month to require paper ballots as back up and to have for verification. The bill passed, but the President said no.

I’m Damn Pissed about this campaign!
This campaign is making me do things I never thought I would.
For the first time in my 60 years, this campaign made me donate my money to a political candidate.
This campaign has made me put bumper stickers on my car - another first!
This campaign, in spite of my own personal distaste for these calls, has me making calls to complete strangers.
This damn campaign has made me think that not only can we, but we will change the political process.
This campaign has made me have HOPE for America, again - something I lost around the time of Nixon/Agnew.
This campaign has made me BELIEVE in us.
And strangely enough, I love it!!

My fellow Obamanites, it’s time to get off the blog and get on the phones. Instead of calling ABC, Fox, MSNBC etc call your fellow citizens in PA and NC.
My fellow Obamanites, it’s time to remain positive and present an honorable face to the doubters. We don’t have room in this campaign for negativity.
My fellow Obamanites, it’s time to commit - not just to getting Senator Obama the Democratic nomination, not just to getting Senator the Presidency, but time to also commit to support, encourage and help him achieve the goals we have set for ourselves during his terms in office.

My Response to Hillary

A couple months back, I registered under a fictitious name on the Hillary website.I get nearly daily messages from the site and every time I get one I add my comment and return it. Today I got one from Hillary telling me how proud she is to stand with me. Here's my response:
YOU DON'T STAND WITH ME AND YOU NEVER WILL. I VOTED FOR YOUR HUSBAND TWICE AND UNTIL RECENTLY DID NOT REGRET THOSE VOTES. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YOUR LIFE DO SOMETHING UNSELFISH - ADMIT YOU'VE BLOWN IT - IT'S OVER - GIVE IT UP.
The other day I got one from Bill sharing the advice he gave Hillary. Here's my response:

I watched the entire "debate" last night, and like all of you was shocked at the obvious bias of the moderators and disgusted by the irrelevent questions. As you read through the blogs on here copy the links that are provided by our very astute fellow Obamanites. Send the links to every news organization.

I used an alias to sign up at Hilary.com, I note that most of her blogs have fewer than 100 respondants whereas ours are in the thousands. Gotta tell us something. Every time I get an email from HRCs cronies I reply to it. Yesterday I got one from Bill telling me the advice he gave Hillary. I replied with my own advice to Hillary. Give it Up. You Blew It. Show some class and quit. The amazing thing is I continue to get their emails and I continue to send them back with links to the Huffington Post Screw Em article, with links to Carl Bernsteins letter of what a Clinton presidency would be like and the wonderful post and link to wikipedia that I found here yesterday.

In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines.

In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)

The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery.

For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation.

What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.

While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/ sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father.

Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections.

Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?

After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of America's biggest cities.

I just called to Governors office
I informed them that it is time for Gov. Bredesen to announce his support for Senator Obama

The lady that answered was obviously a Clinton supporter. She says there hasn't been many calls at all.

I urge each of you to call the super delegates in your state and tell them it's time for them to announce their support for Senator Obama.

Come on Pennsylvania

Am I the only one that understands a vast majority of the votes that Hillary Clinton is getting are coming from Republicans intent on continuing this Democratic infighting? Every conservative radio host has told their listeners to register as Democrats and or Independents and cast votes for Hillary. And believe me many Republicans are doing just that. They are really enjoying this. Now the question is why do the Republicans want to cause this turmoil? We have known for over a year that the Republicans want Hilary as their opponent. She has so much old baggage that they can bring up again. So many ethical questions, so many outright lies etc etc. That plus the fact that there is a large segment of this population that literally detests this woman and her husband. Of course they want Hillary to win the nomination. It is good for their party. But that’s not the only reason. The people that really control this government want to keep control. They know that Hillary will play the game the way they want her too. So it doesn’t really matter whether its Hillary or McCain - nothing really changes. On the other hand this group of folks that have been robbing the treasury for years via government loans, grants, rigged bids, over paying etc etc are really scared of true reform of the kind that Senator Obama might just bring. They are terrified of the popular support that he has garnered and continues to. If Obama gets elected he won’t play their game. Just like JFK wouldn’t play their game. We’re talking hundreds of billions of US taxpayer monies up for grabs. Either it continues going to Brown Root/ Haliburton, and the rest of the corporations that funnel it back to the politicians pockets or it goes towards the rebuilding of America and its infrastructure and benefit of our citizens. Think about it - if some crook in congress offered to give me a contract worth 10 million dollars for work that I could do for 4 million and all I had to do was give back three million. Who wouldn’t do that? For 15 months Hillary and her campaign have been trying to dig up negatives on Senator Obama. What have they found? 1. He went to a controversial church. Better to attend church on a regular basis instead of just showing up when it will serve your political interests. 2. His Pastor spoke some truths that are hard for people to accept. Blame them on Barack. 3. He speaks the truth - no matter who it offends. 4. His alleged lack of experience - that’s been dropped as they realize that his experience is equal to or greater than HRC. And that’s about it folks. Kind of speaks very highly of Senator Obama if you ask me. For the first time in my 60 years of life I have mad a contribution to a politician - Senator Obama and I will continue to contribute to his campaign, will continue to volunteer for his campaign and will continue to do all I can to sway others to see the light - to BELIEVE. This man is the best thing to hit the political scene in nearly 50 years. We need CHANGE and finally we have HOPE that it can happen. The citizens of Pennsylvania have a tremendous opportunity to end this game. Let’s do all we can to convince the Democrats in PA that it is time to end it and the only way to end it is to vote overwhelming for Obama. They can truly be the decisive state that begins the process of getting a Democrat in the White House again.

First Time Ever

With the exception of the first Presidential election that I was involved in (1960-I was only 12 & volunteered for Nixon) in every Presidential election since I have volunteered my time and proudly given my vote to the Democratic nominee. I voted for Bill Clinton twice and have no shame in doing so (mayber some embarrassment), but therre is no way in hell I will vote for Hillairy. I WILL ONLY VOTE FOR SENATOR BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT - God forbid I have to write his name in!
In all those campaigns I have never made a monetary contribution to any candidate - my time and my support yes, but not my hard earned money. In every one of the prior elections making a donation would not have been a sacrifice of any kind, I always had very good paying jobs. But now, living on the pension of a Disable American Veteran, making a donation is a sacrifice. But for the first time in my life, I have just made a $100.00 donation to a political campaign. It is as if I have no choice but to do everything in my abilities to insure that Senator Obama receives our party nomination and the Presidency of the United States. Now I don't know why my contribution is not showing on my Obama donation page, but it's damn embarrassing not to have any donations on my page, so the next 10 people that donate at least $10.00 I will make a matching second donation of $100.00.

BTW I am Bitter, but at least I have hope!

This video needs to be seen

Not enough emphasis is being given our candidates energy/economic proposals. To fund and seek renewable alternative fuel sources is so right in so many arenas. Ending the billion dollars a day that the US spends on foreign oil - much of which goes to countries that want to destroy America - is just the beginning. The employment in the Research & Development, the manufacturing and installing of the new technologies will give millions of Americans good paying jobs. Dreaming of future transportation devices that do not utilize non renewable fuels. Kind of like the old Dick Tracy comic strips - I remember seeing things in those comics that were so "impossible", things that were so futuristic we couldn't even imagine. Now all of those futuristic items have not only become reality, but many have become obsolete and replaced with even better technolgy - cell phones, computers, etc etc. Perhaps what the good senator from Illinois says is plausible. Think of the possibilities - all of which Senator Obama has already pointed out - watch the attached video -

Veterans Health Care

I am a service connected disabled veteran. I have visited VA hospitals in many different states and cities. I have yet to find one that operates efficiently. I wonder why Veterans have to be singled out - why can't Veterans receive an insurance card that allows them to see any doctor at any time? This is what you are proposing for Americans in general, the only difference would be that the Federal Government would pay for the Veterans benefits. The savings from eliminating the VA Medical Centers and related costs should more than offset the cost of insuring Veterans. This would also help the economy, all of the employees of VA medical centers would be welcome in the civilian medical corps, where there is a tremendous shortage of qualified workers. There would be many new private practice offices opened, there would be new hospitals and clinics - all opened by professionals. All I see are tremendous benefits and no down side............how about you?

A Challenge

If we are going to hold Senator Obama accountable for people in his life, then let's be fair. Let's look at all the people that have been in his life and have mentored and guided him, for as long as Pastor Wright. Let's also look at the whole package - compare Pastor Wrights hundreds of other non inflammatory speeches and sermons - you know, the ones that don't make the news because they are not negative or inflammatory enough. Let's look at the Pastor himself, the church he has headed, the entire congregation - we may find it is a church and a Pastor much like our own. Why are we not up in arms about the rest of the congregation attending services there? Hey, and while we're at it let's look at ourselves and ask ourselves if we want to be held accountable for the words and actions of our friends. Let's analyze whether we should have abandoned those with whom we disagree, or those who have done something offensive in an otherwise decent life. Most of us won't have any friends or relatives left. Oh, and let's look at Senator Obama. I challenge anyone to prove to me that this is not a man of good moral character. I challenge anyone to prove to me that this man lacks the conviction to attempt to change the entire way Government works. I am not naive enough to believe that he will succeed - it's not Democratic or Republican - it's the system. But if we can end all of these attempts to smear, get Senator Obama the nomination, get Senator Obama elected President of the United States, AND THEN continue to support and assist and sacrifice as called upon, then and only then do we have a chance of truly impacting and changing the corrupt system of politics and government that we currently are in - you know the politics and government that both Senators Clinton and McCain are embedded with. If we’re going to hold Senator Obama to the fire for having, and not abandoning, his friends, advisors, mentors and others in his life for the past twenty years , let’s do the same for Senators Clinton and McCain.
All I ask is that you honestly attempt to clear all the negativity from this process. Thank you.

I’ve watched several of Rev Wright’s sermons and I am appalled. I knew that the Reverend Wright’s talks were being heavily edited and taken out of context. If you take the time to listen to the full speech, and many others available, you will find his sermons, including the 9/11 sermon, are at odds with those that the media spins. In fact, Rev Wright’s sermons are quite insightful and impart love, deliverance and hope. Not a surprise when you consider this is the man whose sermons helped inspire Sen Obama’s inspirational, best selling book, “The Audacity of Hope“. In an attempt to damage Sen Obama politically, the media ,and a large number of people who don’t take the time to verify and become informed about issues, have demonized and persecuted this devout man and his church. The most telling aspect of this issue is that every media outlet was aware that the controversial clips were edited sound-bites and no journalist, or media person chose to investigate the story and accurately portray the sermons. What a tragedy. Can you imagine how the congregation of that church feels?
